Exceptions thrown after installing Forte4j and j2ee toolkit

Hi!
I've got a problem with Forte4j. I installed Forte4j and i worked fine. Then I insatlled the j2ee toolkit and Forte started to throw exceptions at startup. The added functionality I expected from the j2ee toolkit doesn't appear to be there either.
The exceptions I get is among others are java.lang.IllegalArgumentException, java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException,
java.lang.InstantiationException, java.lang.ClassNotFoundException.
Someone else who have had this problem?

Same problem here.
It seems to be that it is not finding libraries from the j2ee home. For example the following message from the exception list in 'ide.log' is complaining about not finding a class which is in 'j2eetools.jar'.
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException: null
java.lang.reflect.InvocationTargetException: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com.sun.enterprise.tools.deployment.ui.DeployToolWindow
Tried adding this jar by hand to my class path, but other errors result.

Difference j2ee and toolkit

Hi, just wanted to know, what is the difference between J2EE downloaded from SUN website (j2ee toolkit) and the J2EE used for the real world implementation? I heard that implementation using j2ee toolkit is not the same as implementation using real J2EE in IT industry. And if I have experience in implementation in J2EE toolkit, should I say that I know J2EE or I know J2EE toolkit? Hope you understand my question. Thank you.

The J2EE SDK is Sun's developer's kit. It provides the same functionality as you would find from other vendors. It is a full implementation and is deployable.
It is worth your time to give it a go and see if it meets your needs.

Paul, thanks for your experience with the workflows. Unfortunately, upgrading to 8.5.x would be a major tasks because they would have to upgrade their Callmanager as well to support that version and they would not be ready to take this on.
The files launch to announce the calltype. These are wave files stored on a network drive that all PCs have access to. All usres have admin rights. I worked on these WFs over the weekend, tested each number internally and successfully launched each file. Monday comes around and 15 of the 48 stop working and launch incorrect files. Initially, I had recommended a 'whisper' script in UCCX but the customer didn't like it. Is there other options within Callmanager (7.1.3.31900-1) or Unity (I also suspect this is still windows based on the look of the interface).

Portal User details and credentials for a J2EE application?

I am trying to access a J2EE application which is deployed in SAP Web Application Server. I want to maintain the security of this application depending the portal user. So I want to get the user id of the portal login to my J2EE application. For Example:
A user with id "super" is logging into portal I want the userid "super" in my J2EE application how to get the userid to my J2EE application's servlet. Is this possible? If possible please tell how I can acheive it?
Can I do it by creating HTTP System? If possible can u tell me where can I set the URL?

Certainly you can get the user id of the portal login in your J2EE application by using UME api's

Does the Report Generation Toolkit support Office 2007?

With the hot-out-of-the-oven Office 2007, Microsoft has done a complete overhaul of the Office environment that we all have spent many years learning to perfection (well.. almost). Lucky those who got a head start as part of the Office Beta program.
Well, NI claims that the current version of the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit supports "Microsoft Office 2000 (Word, Excel, and Graph) or later" and therefore literally also the new Office 2007.
I doubt that the ActiveX API has remained unchanged when developing Office 2007, so let's use this thread to uncover the experience you have with calling Office 2007 applications using the LabVIEW Report Generation Toolkit.

We are currently working on a maintenance release for the Report Generation Toolkit to support Office 2007. You can install the current toolkit with Office 2007, but you will have some problems. If you copy the four LLBs from the Compatibility\Office 2003\vi.lib\addons\_office folder on your Report Generation Toolkit CD to the corresponding vi.lib\addons\_office location in your LabVIEW folder after installing the toolkit, things will work for the most part. But you won't have 100% compatibility until the maintenance release is done.

Why do we use "super" for some methods?

What I have noticed is that in some methods we have

where at the end of the method we have [super dealloc]
Why do we have that?

The parent class may have allocated resources that you don't know about. Once you're finished deallocating resources in your object, you call the super-class' (parent-class') dealloc method to deallocate the things that it allocated. If you don't, whatever it allocated won't be deallocated.

Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.1 now available

As announced by Kevin Goldsmith on his blog, an update of the Pixel Bender Toolkit is now available via the Adobe Updater and from the Pixel Bender Developer Connection area on adobe.com.
If you have installed After Effects CS5, Flash Professional CS5 or one of the suites that includes these applications, you will see the update listed in the available updates. If you installed the Pixel Bender Toolkit via downloading it on from Adobe.com, you will need to download the update and install it by following the installation instructions.
The majority of effort in this release was on bug fixes found late in the CS5 development cycle. There have been some good bugs reported in the Pixel Bender forums, some are fixed in this release and some will be fixed in a later release.
There has been one major change in the behavior of the Flash preview in this release. In Pixel Bender Toolkit 2.0, if you have a kernel with two inputs, the filter was treated as a Flash blend shader. This resulted in some unexpected results, especially when compared to CPU or GPU previews. Now, when you have a two input kernels, we instead create a ShaderJob and use the two input images as inputs. Hopefully, this will make things a bit more consistent. In a future version of the Toolkit, we plan to make this behavior selectable, but the blend case seemed to be very uncommon.
