Acer aspire V7 win 8.1 update problem

One reason it could be staying at .75 is because it's getting too hot.

After updating windows 8.1, I think that the KB3000850 around 750MB causes problems,
SDD usage goes to 100% for a few minutes when Laptop boots up, there's no freeze or lag, just FAN keeps spining very fast for the time when SSD is at its fullest usage, then SSD usage goes back to 0% but vent keeps randomly spinning up very fast and not constant even there is nothing running ( IDLE ), and sometimes processor locks at min 0.75GHZ and not changing ( don't mention power plan, cos its not working ).
I reverted that update, and there is no SSD 100% usage and there is no strange vent spinning and there is no CPU lock.
Any suggestion how to configure system after WIN update to keep it working normal ?
UPDATE is messing things up....
Thanks in advance guys

  • Acer Aspire Switch 10 e keyboard dock problem

Hi. I have this brand new Acer Aspire Switch 10 E which I just bought last month. I'm now having problems with the keyboard and the dock as when I connect the tablet/screen to the dock, the keyboard is not detected. It recognizeswhen I dock the tablet but it doesn't detect te hard drive nor the keyboard. Sometime, after a long while, it detects the keyboard and the hard drive but only for a few seconds then it disappears again. Other times, it just flips continually from working and then not working. The problem is so sudden. I would jokingly note that whenever I search for solutions to the keyboard problem, it very briefly fixes itself. On a serious note however, I do not know what causes this malfunction nor do I know what fixes it. As stated above, the problem is so sudden. I have been very, very careful with the use of my laptop including in the removal and docking of the tablet. I have inspected the docking pins, and physically, they look perfectly fine. The problem occurs even the tablet has been connected and left undisturbed for continuous periods of time. This has led me to believe that the problem could be software based and not hardware. I am also open to the possibility that it could be heat affecting the docking pins (heat can cause connection issues and this isn't the first time I have encountered one, nor the second) but like I said, the docking pins work perfectly and remain constantly in contact witch each other. As I have postulated that the problem is software based, I have gone through the hassles of searching for possibble drivers for the dock/keyboard. Unfortunately, (this might be due to the Aspire Switch 10 E being a fairly new model) there were no keyboard drivers on the Acer support page for the Aspire Switch 10 E. In my search, I encountered a video for the Aspire Switch 10 keyboard to fix the problem, a driver update for the Switch 10, NOT the Switch 10 E. I have tried the solution and it still does not work. I am not a fan of forums and if I am, I am usually just a reader kind of person. But in the light of recent events and the fact that there are virtually NO questions or posts about this brand new model of laptop, specfically the Aspire Switch 10 E, I have taken the responsibility of raising this question in the hopes that a knowledgeable person may provide assistance and that the others of my kind (the Aspire Switch 10 E users) may be enlightened as well. I would sincerely appreciate the assistance. God bless. TL;DR: Aspire Switch 10 E detects docking but keyboard and hard drive are inconsistently not working. Help. Reposted this topic on the laptops forum because I realized I posted the first one in desktops.

Hi, I have a similar problem.  Sometimes after waking or after removing or reataching the keyboard it becomes unresponsive.  But if I then restart the computer it is fine.  I think, in my case at least, it can not be due to just a bad connection, as otherwise restarting it would not change anything.  Also, I don't think it is something that has been fixed as it is quite a recent purchase and I have recently updated windows and drivers.  The whole reason for choosing this pc was the ease with which it converts between tablet and laptop mode so any advice would be very welcome. Thanks,Tom

  • Nvidia Quadro fx2800m on w701ds with Win 7 64 update problem

Hello, i had a couple of crashes with blue screen and i knew it was the graphic driver because several times i saw the windows warning Graphic driver restored.
I decided to update it from the lenovo site by downloading the latest one, it was 307.xx and on installation it gave the error: This Graphics Driver could not find compatible graphics driver.
I downloaded the driver from the official nvidia website but it kept crashin after long time running, so i went to lenovo support and downloaded the latest one: 6md647ww.exe released on April 1st with driver version 311 and it gives the same error. I had a lot of troubles with this, installed lenovo system update but it doesn't help too, so npow i removed everything with device manager disable and uninstall, and automatically using windows driver update i have some version from 2011, no nvidia control panel and the other features.
Please let me know how can i install the official up to date lenovo driver, i even tried disabling the driver integrity check but it failed again.

In the meanwhile Rev 04 of the driver was published. This version is binary different to Rev 03 and - surprise - it now says correctly after unpacking it will install the 64-bit version. But after that same problem as before, "no compatible device found".
I did some searching into the files of 6md647ww. I guess the file Display.Driver\NVLT.inf contains a list of compatible devices - in this file the sections labelled NVIDIA_SetA_Devices.NTamd64.* list a lot of device-ids, for example PCI\VEN_10DE&DEV_0A3C&SUBSYS_214517AA and many more. The device id of the graphics card for a system can be found in the hardware/device manager of windows, I obtained that for my card and this id doesn't show anywhere in NVLT.inf. So if my guess is correct, it is no wonder the installer says "no compatible device" since the device id of my card is not listed in NVLT.inf.
Please note again that all previous versions of lenovo drivers for my NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800M did and do install without absolutely any problem!
This is strange, readme of the current driver version definitely says NVIDIA Quadro FX 3800M is supported by this driver, but the driver doesn't seem to contain the device id for it. Looks almost like the wrong driver was used / bundled into 6md647ww.
And again the question to the board / administrators if lenovo technical support is reading here and is there another contact at lenovo where I could direct my problem to? I am still having the sporadic heavy crash issue which is very dangerous since it can happen any time if displaying whatever graphics in whatever software and which therefore has a high risk of data loss. Also, installing the plain NVIDIA driver directly in the current version still has the problem of flickering and color errors, so this isn't a solution either.
    Best regards, Michael

  • Yoga 2 - WIn 8.1 Update Problem!!! Internet explorer "This page won't connect"

Purchased a Yoga 2 13" last week running Windows 8.1
Everything was working fine until today.  I downloaded Firefox.  I'm not sure if that caused the problem.  I uninstalled Firefox and the problem still persists.
I can connect to the internet.  My email and Facebook are working fine.  It is just Internet Explorer that won't connect.
    I have rebooted my modem/router
Deleted the history and cached info for Explorer
I don't see any other settings about maybe working offline.
Any suggestions will be really appreciated.
    Thanks,

    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

It happens on other networks too.
I did a system restore and that solved the problem.  Until the windows update went through again.
It is the update that is causing the problem.
This laptop is less than a week old.  how can I figure out what in the update is causing the problem?

  • Problem with touchpad and Windows 8.1. Acer Aspire E5-511

I bought an Acer Aspire E5-511, but I have problem with touchpad and Windows 8.1.The touchpad (Synaptics) is not working with Windows 8.1 x64, but it works fine with Windows 7 x64 and Windows 8 x64.When I install Windows 8.1 and have to choose” language to install” I can’t choose anything with the touchpad. I should plug in my mouse to continue. I doesn’t work even when it’s fully installed and with latest driver (available only for win 8.1 x64) from Acer’s website. I tried with an older driver, but had no success. I updated BIOS, but it doesn’t work again. In hardware IDS in device manager it shows HID\… not ACPI\… (like win 7/8). Fn+F7 doesn’t help. When I try to install Windows7/8 the touchpad is working properly at the beginning (I can choose ”language to install”, “Time and currency format”… and the touchpad works after install even without driver).

SOLUTION So guys after deep research and troubleshooting I found that you need to keep notice of a few things at time of installation: Installation Mode: UEFI (only)- LEGACY would create touchpad issues. after installation of windows just follow the driver installation hierarchy 1.Intel NB_Chipset_M Baytrail-M 2.Intel I/O Driver then rest of the crap. Note:After doing all this make sure your touchpad is active >> Fn+F7 Just wished if this solution came from an acer executive , the world would have been a better place , but anyways this is what community is for. Enjoy everyone

  • Acer Aspire 7750g driver issue.

    Hello everyone,
I own an Acer Aspire 7750g-2636G75Mnkk
Recently i updated to Windows 10 but i found out that my AMD Radeon 6650M is not supported, so i switched back to windows 7 with the Back up disc i made with the factory settings.
So i tried to update everything, i used the AMD auto detect tool and it did install to the newest 15.7 driver. After the restart i got horizontal black lines flickering over my screen so i uninstalled it and went back to the factory driver.
Went to the acer site for driver download and i saw there was a "newer" version available. (8.901.4.0).
So i uninstalled the factory one(8.822.0.0) and installed this one. But the installer said when it was done that there were some problems. I checked the log but everything was succesfully installed.
After the restart everything went good until after the login screen. Screen was black with green, i could barely see anything.
Tried to plug HDMI cable into my TV.
Tv screen is normal but laptop screen is still black and green.
So i uninstalled that one again and went back with the factory one. (8.822.0.0)
I am now running into compatibility issues, i can start a program but it closes right after. I can only start it when i put Windows 7 manually in the compatibility mode.
Even some games say my drivers are outdated.
When i do 64bit DxDiag, it says program stopped working. Started it again and it said it had problems accessing the Direct3D. If i don't skip this step, it stops working. But if i do skip it, it runs but when i check the Screen tab, there is nothing. Not even a driver detected.
I can't even open Catalyst Control Center because it says program stopped working and has been shutdown.
I have updated my BIOS to the latest version Acer gave me V1.21
Oh, and i also downloaded all the updates from Windows Update.
I tried different kind of Catalyst Control Center Suites(mostly the same as the newest driver 15.7, horizontal black lines flickering over the whole screen)
    So now im stuck.
Someone got an idea on how to fix this?

Hello Guys, Even I had a similar problem. I was planning to take it to service center. But just wanted to try once more so searched in the community and got this thread. My situation is I changed my RAM 2 months ago from 3GB to 8GB on my 5830TG. It was working fine till last couple of weeks until I made one change in BIOS setting and then I tried rebooting then I don't get any screen. my Hardisk looks like it was running. I never got to BIOS screen at all. I got scared & din't know what to do. After reading this post I replaced my new ram with the old once which I had it with me. My laptop booted properly. Then I removed the old ones & added both the new RAM's then the laptop did not boot. Suspecting that one of the RAM must have gone non functional I tried one by one. Both worked fine. Finally I had to insert the RAM properly. Insert it little hard so that it sat fine in the slot. I also reset my BIOS just in case. Great post guys, it helped my try once. You don't know how much time and money I saved :-) Thanks a ton.

  • Acer Aspire V5|123 - Shutting Down Problems

    Hi,
I have bought an Acer Aspire V5|123 netbook yesterday. I had done a clean install of Windows 8.1 (with Pro). At the moment I was trying to do some updates on this netbook to get to the latest updates. But each time this netbook updates, the shut down method is taking like 3 mins to boot back up again which is taking longer than usuall!
I have a Compaq (from HP) computer which has Windows 8.1, the computer I use mostly is this - the boot up and shut down times are fast and quick. The operating system runs smoothly on it and it works fine and never had a problem for a few months now!
Also, the power button light stays on for like 5 mins after the Windows shut down. So, I have been surfing on the web to find a solution to this simular problem. I have found out a forum thread with someone answering about replacing the battery or replace the BIOS battery with a new one and see if that solves the problem.
    Thanks!
    Best Regards,
    Benjamin

  • Can't complete a clean installation of WIN 7 PRO on an Acer Aspire 4738

    Hello,
If any one could help me with this problem i would really appreciate it.
I have an Acer Aspire 4738-6888 (icore 5, 3GB RAM, 500GB HD), it was running win 7 ultimate 32 bits but started working erratically so i decided to perform a clean installation. HD was formatted entirely.
Then tried installing WIN 7 PRO 64 bits from a DVD, but the installation program does not load and shows a kernel error oxc0000098
It is funny that if i use a WIN 7 PRO 32 bits DVD, the installation programs loads and starts, everything seems to run normally (HD partitions can be created and formatted, Files are expanded and configuration begins) but just after the third restart
when the assistant shows the message " preparing to run windows for the first time " the blue screen appears showing a "Memory_Management" error. Tried one more time but using a WIN 7 ULTIMATE 32 bits DVD with same results.
Finally, I tried using the "repair option" from the DVD and get this message:
    StartupRepairOffline
    01: 6.1.7600.16385
    02: 6.1.7600.16385

Before hand thanks a lot for your help,
    Rgds,
    GCH.

    Hi GustavoCh,
What issue did you meet so you want to reinstall?
Could you please use the Windows install image to install Windows in other computer or virtual machine? So we can make sure this issue is not caused by the image.
I think this issue is related to hardware, please contact the manufacturer for better help.

  • Can anyone tell me how to update my bios in my Acer aspire 5610Z laptop. I installed Ubuntu Linux

I installed Ubuntu Linux in my Acer Aspire 5610Z laptop and all was fine until the latest updates came in. I inquired about the problem and I was told that I needed the newer version of bios. My laptop uses Pheonix WinPhlash bios and I cannot make it work through Ubuntu. Iwould appreciate any help that anyone might be able to give me. The keyboard does not work correctly and the person at Ubuntu assured me that it was the bios causing the problem. My laptop originally came with a Windows Vista installation disk. Thanks in advance.Rich S.

I had no problems with Ubuntu version 13. I started having problems with my keyboard after it upgraded to 14.04. I filed a bug / problem report with Ubuntu and I was told it was my out dated bios version 3.50. I went through hell trying to update it to bios version 3.60 but after many frustrating hours I finally ended up puting in Windows 2000 and updating WinPhlash through it. I had wiped my hard drive, reformatted it and it would no longer install Windows Vista. I can't figure that one out at all? After going through about two weeks of failure I finally got bios 3.60 installed. It did not change anything. The keyboard of the laptop worked just fine with Windows. When I put Ubuntu back it I had the same old ball game. I have to use a USB keyboard. I installed Ubuntu 15.04 (advice from my learned son) that produce no change either. Now, I had been going on the asumption that the fellow from Ubuntu knew what he was talking about since he assured me that it was a "buggy bios" version 3.50 causing the keyboard problem. I did a Google search only to find out that laptop keyboard problems are a very common thing with almost all versions of Ubuntu, especially version 14.04. I was told there is a Kernel 4.1 that may solve the problem but I do not understand Kernels very well and I fear I may mess things up and will have to start all over a again. I shall find out.

  • Acer Aspire 3820TG Graphics problem

Hello! I just recently updated my Acer Aspire Timeline X 3920TG to windows 10. The installer reported that there should be no problems, and all seemed well, installation went painless.
However, I soon discovered some problems with the drivers for the graphics card, an AMD Radeon HD 6550M. - The card is reported as a "5000 series" card, not 6000. Some people have mentioned that it is just a rebranded 5000 card, but it has shown up as 6550M before.- The HDMI connector is not working, and as such I cannot use my TV for a second screen. Worked fine before installing windows 10, but not now.- Civ 5 does not start with DX9 any more. DX 11 works fine.
    - Way of the Samurai 4 has started lagging seriously. Not much framedrop, but everything is in slow motion, and it responds very slowly to controls. Again, worked fine in windows 7. I have googled for solutions, reinstalled drivers, killed all drivers and tried to reinstall both directly from AMD, Acer and Microsofts update service, but to no avail.  Please help. Is this a lost cause or is there a solution?

Too bad. I took the plunge to downgrade again to windows 7, which was as easy as upgrading to 10, thankfully. Gotta give them credit for that at least.
Works perfectly in 7, so I guess I'll have to live with this until I upgrade to a newer laptop. =/

  • Acer Aspire TC-605 BIOS Updating!? (Totally Confused on how to navigate DOS From Bootable USB)

Alright Spec's..Acer Aspire TC-605 Computer.OS: Windows 10 Verison 10.0.10240 Build 10240System Type: x64-based PCCurrent BIOS: P11-A4 / 3/21/2014 I need to update the BIOS to the latest verison which is P11.B3. Question 1: Do I need to update the BIOS in the direct order they've came out with updates or do I just update to the latest verison? Question 2: I've created a Bootable USB Drive with FreeDOS using Rufus.. But I don't know what commands to enter to get the FLASH.BAT file running ect and AFUDOS ect.The Readme file is so basic and doesn't give me a detailed enough procedure on what commands to enter to achieve updating the BIOS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Jmg19Delta.

huh??I have TC-605.You don't need to create a bootable USB flash drive.  You just have to follow the instructions. And read the README file.  Copy the unzipped/extracted BIOS files (P11.B3) that you just downloaded to a USB flash drive. (I always quick format the USB flash drive to fat32 before I copy the files to it, but not sure if that's necessary.)Open an admin command promptIf your flash drive has a drive letter of F you would typeF:cd winflash So it would look like this: F:\win>flash After its flashed, then you go in to BIOS settings and load defaults F9 and then save and exit F10. My instructions are abbreviated, so make sure you read the instructions (README) instead of following mine....in case I missed anything. If your computer came with P11.xx then you must use P11.xx.  You can't use P21 versions. The L versions are for Linux....not Windows. Edit: You can flash to P11.B3    if your current BIOS is P11.A4

  • Acer Aspire V5-531 Dolby Advanced Audio driver issues after updating to Windows 10

After upgrading to Windows 10 I was getting an error on loading Windows media player which indicated that: The current Dolby audio driver version is 7.2.8000.17 and the softwareapplication expects driver version 7.2.7000.7. Please install a valid driver and application combination  Although Windows 10 has probably updated your driver to the latest version of the driver (you can check this in device manager for yourself) but the Dolby Advanced Audio V2 application which was supplied by Acer (not Dolby) has not been updated to the corresponding latest version. So, you need an updated version of Dolby Advanced Audio V2 (Version 7.2.8000.17) Acer have not published an updated version. Looked all over the site coudn't find it.  My solution was to remove the error was to uninstall the Acer version and replace with the correct version downloaded from the Lenovo site below. http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds028945  I'd wanted to make sure it was the same software, so I tried without uninstalling first and it refused as a version was already installed. So that was reassuring. Thanks for the archived post below pointing me to the softwre on the Lenoveo site at the Lenovo site. I'd looked all over the Acer site for it. http://community.acer.com/t5/2013-Archives/how-i-solved-the-dolby-realtek-audio-problem/td-p/103157  There are warnings on the page above not to use the Lenovo version of the software because of 'tuning', but my audio sounds just as good as before and the error is now gone. Without it the Dolby would have been uninstalled so it seemed a reasonable punt to me. Disappointed in Acer, will buy a Lenovo next time...

Hi, The only driver that ever worked properly with Dolby was the driver for The V5-552G on windows 8 (not 8.1) This will work on your computer even if different model... the new driver on the Acer site for winodws 10 has not work either. So the one I´m using is: Audio_Realtek_6.0.1.6878_W8x64_A To Download the Driver and Software needed Go to: http://www.acer.co.in/ac/en/IN/content/drivers and Go: Ultra-Thin / Aspire / V5-552G To get dolby to work: 1. Uninstall the current driver, and any software related to it (the dolby software) 2. restart 3. Install the driver for windows 8 (in my case it never installs dolby automatically, I´ll explain how to do it manually below) 4. Restart twice (yes, I always had to restart twice after the install otherwise manually installing dolby would not work and I got an error when trying to run the install) 5. In the driver folders you downloaded and unzipped go to the folder "PCEE4" and run "DolbyAdvancedAudio.msi" 6.If you dont get the "Install PCEE" error, restart and you should be able to enjoy dolby (when its not acting up). If you get the error then you may have not followed the instructions properly. Go back to step 1 Good luck

  • Win 8 Monthly Update - T430S WAN Miniport Problem

The May 2013 monthly update for Windows 8 leaves a Device Manager error, as well as an error message in Lenovo Solution Center.  Four T430S machines receive push updates published by Microsoft every 2nd Tuesday of the month.  After this month's push updates, all machines have the same WAN Miniport error in Device Manager.
2 machines were restored to before the May 2013 push updates, and the error went away.  Unfortunately, out of the 13 or so updates, the one that appears to be causing the problem is a major update to the OS.  However, the push updates do not cause any errors with T61Ps.
Unforutunately, the WAN Miniport cannot be uninstalled.  It is part of the network stack.  So far, the only way to avoid the problem is to disable Win 8 push updates on T430S machines.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

The T430S machines have Intel Ultimate-N 6300 AGN WLAN cards with 3 antennas.
A few months back, there were intermittitent issues with WLAN connectivity.  Oddly, the signal strength was strong, but with intermittent internet access.   After r&r (removing and replacing) with a new WLAN card from Lenovo, it did not fix the intermittent WLAN connectivity issues.
The WLAN connectivity issues were isolated to weak wireless N internet access performance from the Intel wireless AGN driver.  Changing the wireless N channels at the router improved performance marginally (BTW, N channels have different power requirements that affect performance.)  However, internet access was still intermittent.
Wireless N WLAN performance dramatically improved when the router was physically 10-15 feet away at most.  Since this was not practical, the best work around was to disconnect the machine from the wireless N network and setup a wireless G network at the router.  Since then, the range has been excellent with no intermittent connectivity issues.
So far, machines with KB2836988 have not affected wireless G connectivity and performance.  Apparently, if you unhide the devices in Device Manager, KB2836988 created a second WAN Miniport for Network Monitoring #2.  The second WAN Miniport is the device with the error.  From my earlier post, the only was to get rid of the error is to do a system restore to a point before the May 2013 push updates and manually hide KB2836988.
I plan on doing a system restore on another T430S machine to get rid of the error.  This time I am going to try and hide all of the other updates except for KB2836988.  I am hoping by isolating the KB2836988 as the first push update, I can get rid of the WAN Miniport error.  If all goes well, the other updates will be installed afterwards.
