Acer Iconia A200, poor network coverage error, won't update

I have the Acer Iconia A200 tablet and I'm trying to make sure that it is updated. It has become very slow. When I go to check for software updates I receive the error: "Network Coverage - Network coverage is currently poor. Please move to a location with better coverage to continue." When I first started receiving this error, I only had 2 signal bars on my WIFI so I moved to the room that my WIFI is located in. I had full signal and still received the same error. I did a factory restore on it and went through the setup process and still received the same error. I can get online, download games, etc. Granted watching things like Netflix or anything it is extremely slow and takes a very long time to load. I brought the tablet with me to work today to see if maybe it is just something with my WIFI. I logged into our network here and I am still receiving the same network coverage error. Please help! it's an error message about Acer server not reachable.simply Acer shutted down the old update servers, so now the only way to update or check the latest version, is using the Acer support website: http://us.acer.com/ac/en/US/content/drivers/4005;-;A200

I think I solved the problem by initiating the update in a different way, from the itunes panel where I can click to start the update, instead of saying yes when asked if I want to update when itunes launches in response to the iphone being plugged into the computer.

After reviewing your post, I have located an article that can help with cellular network issues. It contains a number of troubleshooting steps and helpful advice for the issue you are experiencing:

No connection over cellular network, but works over Wi-Fi
Unable to load pages in Safari
Unable to use email over cellular
Slow data connection over cellular
Intermittent cellular data connection
Unable to join 3G/4G/LTE network

Resolution
Follow these steps for help with cellular data issues on your iPhone. After performing each step, test to see if your iPhone still has the issue.
Toggle airplane mode: Tap Settings, turn airplane mode on, wait three seconds, and then turn off again.
Restart your iPhone.
Make sure that your software is up to date:
Check for a Carrier Settings Update: Tap Settings > General > About.
Check for an iOS Software Update: Tap Settings > General > Software Update.
Some updates may require a Wi-Fi connection.
Remove the SIM Card and reinsert it. Allow the iPhone to acquire the network again.

Hi,
A client of mine was getting this on his laptop when he had an encrypted USB thumbdrive plugged in.
If the thumbdrive was disconnected the error went away.
I'm guessing the application is querying all drive letters and perhaps erroring when it can't read the contents of the drive or it doesn't understand the file system.
Try disconnecting any attached devices (inc. printers with card readers) and see if the problem goes away.

IPod Mini error, won't update

My 2nd generation iPod Mini recently started acting up on me. Because I've had it for a long time, it is clearly out of warrantee, but it has never given me trouble (good little Mini...), so I'd like to see if I can fix it rather than replace it with a Nano or Video.
After getting a new cd, I plugged in my iPod to update it, since I was going on a trip the next day and wanted the new music. It got most of the way through updating when I got an error: error code 1303. I did some research, and found that it meant that the files were "on different volumes". Being somewhat computer illiterate when it comes to debugging, I figured I'd turn on Sound Check and see if that worked. It didn't. Losing my patience, I restored my iPod, sure that that would have to fix it. I didn't get the error message again, but it updated only 18 songs, of my library of over 900. On a second update, it got 250 songs. On the third and final try, it almost got to 600, but then gave me the same error code again. Does anyone have any idea how to fix this?

I had the same issue with a backup drive. (error -51) Unfortunately the only remedy I know of is to update the software. Its caused by trying to transfer too much data at once. It sooks but only transfer like 20-100 songs at a time. you wont get the error.

Acer iconia a100 update fails "network coverage is currently poor"

My Acer Iconia A100 has Android 4.0.3, and all updates fail with the message: Network Coverage is currently poorbut it is not, at 100%, and all other network functions work fine. I see LOTS of problems and discussion and issues with this same error on later Iconia tab models, but so far no clear solution. Is there one? or is this machine just orphaned? Their support web-site lists nothign available for the A-100.

I am trying to activate an Acer Iconia - apparent Network Error

I am trying to activate an Acer Iconia (Android) via LumiRead app. I receive an error 'Activation Failed - There is a network error, please check your WiFi, or the content server may not be available now. - Details show E_STREAM_ERROR: CURL returned 7 (0x7)'.
The Aldiko app also fails to authorise - 'Error. Could not connect to server'.
The Iconia was rebuilt under warranty about 6 months ago, prior to this the Iconia was activated successfully.
There is no network error - I'm using WiFi now. The thing I find interesting is that I can not access any Adobe web page via any of the Android browsers (built in browser, Chrome, Photon Browser), but can access via PC - which is where I'm typing this from.
ADE works fine on PC, and I can read DRM books.
Activating the Iconia is starting to sh*t me up the wall. I have Chronic Regional Pain Syndrome and I'm trying to access a pain managment book via the Iconia. I'd appreciate any help

Is it possible there is some kind of firewall app running on the Iconia that is causing the problems?
Try turning off any firewall (temporarily) to see if that helps.
It might be worth posting on Acer sites to see if anyone has similar issues.
Try the Bluefire app; though I suspect that will fail if the others did.

Problems Connecting Acer Iconia W510 Wirelessly to...

Because my daughter has a disability. She has been given an Acer Iconia W510 by her school for her work in school and so she can do her homework at home. I have tried everything but I cannot get it to connect wirelessly to my BT Infinity Broadband. The laptop recognises the network and appears to connect to it but it doesn't because it won't connect to the Internet. I have normally connected other devices via BT Desktop Help without a problem but this isn't installed on my daughter's laptop. It does connect to the Internet at my daughter's school. First of all reset the home hub to factory default and try again.
If that fails, then change the wireless encryption on the home hub to WPA only, delete the existing wireless connection on the ACER, end re-enter the wireless key again.

It sounds like you may have multiple problems, but none of them are likely to be caused by malware.
First, the internet-related issues may be related to adware or a network compromise. I tend to lean more towards the latter, based on your description of the problem. See:

If investigation shows that this is not a network-specific issue, then it's probably adware. See my Adware Removal Guide for help finding and removing it. Note that you mention AdBlock as if it should have prevented this, but it's important to understand that ad blockers do not protect you against adware in any way. Neither would any kind of anti-virus software, which often doesn't detect adware.
As for the other issues, it sounds like you've got some serious corruption. I would be inclined to say it sounds like a failing drive, except it sounds like you just got it replaced. How did you get all your files back after the new drive was installed?

It looks like that particular error may be realted to a hardware issue. Take a look at the article below for more information.

Related errors: 1, 3, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 16, 20, 21, 23, 26, 27, 28, 29, 34, 35, 36, 37, 40, 1000, 1002, 1004, 1011, 1012, 1014, 1667, or 1669.
These errors mean that your device or computer may have a hardware issue that's preventing the update or restore from completing.
Check that your security software and settings aren't preventing your device from communicating with the Apple update server.
Then try to restore your iOS device two more times while connected with a cable, computer, and network you know are good.
Confirm that your security software and settings are allowing communication between your device and update servers.
If you still see the error message when you update or restore, contact Apple support.
