Acer Liquid z220, ACER HOME stuck in error loop, can't use my menu

Hello, I bought an Acer Liquid Z220 two days ago and everything was working perfectly. Today I was browsing my menu and it notified me that "Sorry, Acer Home was stopped.". I've tried turning it off and on, cache reset, data reset, force stop. I can't get out of this loop. I can still access everything through "Recently opened", and through notifications, it's just the menu I can't access. I tried using the other menu browser offered with this phone, Quick Mode. But I'm honestly not interested in having my cellphone look like Win8's theme, that's why I chose Acer Home in the first place. Any help would be much appreciated, thank you in advance

Data reset as in the option in the app settings itself to reset stored data. I didn't make any alterations to the widget windows yet, when I buy a new smartphone I like to take it slow as I install or make alterations to the way it arrived from factory, just in case. I literally had nothing else changed or added to it than my contact list and an Advanced Mobile Care installed. Haven't used it yet though. In the meantime I did some research and found that I could hard reset a smartphone without voiding my warranty so I backed up my data and proceeded to do one. My Acer Home menu is working again but... I'm worried if this will be a recurring thing?

    Local Mac shop said to hold down "c" after inserting disk to get "disk utility" to come up in order to wipe hard drive.  I can't seem to get it to do this.

    This W7 was purchased for using Fusion, as others did - per reviews from amazon.  The technician today called their contact at VMWare - Fusion not officially for use with Lion - even though I read at the VMWare support site that others have made it work.  Apparently my setup doesn't work. 
    Do you know how to do the proceedure for bringing up the disk utility when starting the disk?
    BTW, some of the windows applications I want to continue using are Incredimail, Calendarscope, Stamps.com and a few others I have used over many years.  What do you use for email and calendar?
    Wow, sounds like another reason to not use MS Windows.
    Regarding your Disk Utility question, please elablorate I'm not sure what you're trying to do. Disk Utilty is just that...a utility, it's something most users never have to use especially on a new computer. Let me know what you're trying to do there before I give you some instructions.
    As for as your Windows apps I would recommend using Mail and iCal, both come as part of OS X and are very robust tools. Don't discount the software built right into OS X it's very robust and powerful not all like the bloatware most Windows boxes ship with. Stamps.com well I'd look for another alternative. It's clear they don't support OS X which makes me a little suspicious that they're so behind the times. 
    Also if you have not been exposed to these links before I'd strongly recommend bookmarking them and using them. They're extermely useful!

  • HT1819 'Byte-Range' request error, but no problems using Advanced menu

    On Windows Vista PC, latest iTunes update:
    No trouble subscribing to podcast feed using Advanced menu. iTunes will even update/load new episodes, but I receive 'byte-range' request error when submitting podcast feed to the directory.
    Is it normal to be able to use the advanced menu option, but not be able to submit the same feed to the podcast directory?
    PS: No trouble subscribing to same feed with Banshee media player using ubuntu Natty Narwhal. All podcast artwork and information intact.

    I'm afraid you've fallen over a requirement that Apple has recently introduced. The iPhone plays podcasts by using 'byte-range requests', which means calling for part of the file at a time rather than the whole thing. Unfortunately some servers don't support this, and there were an increasing number of complaints that podcasts which worked elsewhwere weren't working on an iPhone.
    So Apple are now making the ability to handle this a condition of submission. Evidently your server doesn't support this, so all you can do is to ask them whether they can implement it. If not, you will have to find another hosting service - ask about this before committing yourself, and if they say no, or don't know what it is, find another host.

  • My laptop cd burner is stuck in a loop; can't eject cd

    Sometimes when I burn a cd, the burner in my apple laptop gets stuck partway through the cd. I'm guessing it might be a flaw in the cd that is causing this. Not sure. The problem is I can't get the cd out or stop the import. The burner seems to be stuck in a loop. You can hear the sound of the burner trying over and over again to burn the trak. What do I do? Turn off the laptop and give up on burning that cd?

    Found out the other day:
    If you hold down the mouse button while the computer is starting up it will eject all removable media - including CDs whether or not they have been recognised.
    So if you restart it's a sure fire way of getting the CD out so no need to panic about it getting stuck.
    I can't help with making the thing work though - once you start burning a disk and it makes a mistake that disc is usually ruined, in my experience.

  • My ipod touch says that i am connected to my home wifi connection but i can't use the internet. what should i do?

    i have an ipod touch and i have gone into my settings and connected to my home wifi. but the little bars that are supposed to come up in the top left hand corner do not appear and i cannot connect to the internet. is it my ipod? or should i look at my home wifi?

    One way to isolate the problem would be to try your iPod on some other networks (Starbucks, Borders, Library, Apple store, etc.) If it does not work in those places you likely have a problem with your iPod otherwise it's likely a problem with your network.
    Please provide some details on your router make/model, security type being used (WEP, WPA, WPA2), any MAC address filtering configured and whether you are using static IPs or DHCP.

    In order to have an account in an iTunes Store, you need to have 1)a valid billing address in that country, 2)have a credit card billed to that address or an iTunes gift card purchased in that country and 3)you need to be physically located in that country.
    So, you have two problems. According to the Terms of Sale, you can't use your Canadian account when you are in Costa Rica. And, if you open an account in Costa Rica, cards bought in Canada wont't work. You'd need to buy gift cards in Costa Rica.

    2. If I deauthorise iTunes on my old Power Mac will I lose my music on my new iTunes Library on my Macbook Pro - essentially are the two somehow linked together? I want to erase my old HD, wipe it clean, chuck it in a case and use as a back up storage, and then sell my old Power Mac.

  • Continue to receive error 1604 and can't use the recover function - help!  I have gone through all the steps listed in support and nothing has worked.  I am using a usb port I tested with my printer cable and it's fine.

    I wanted to update my software this morning and it has turned into a nightmare.  I continue to receive the error 1604, which is related to a usb port.  I followed all the steps listed in support and nothing has helped.  I just plugged in my printer cable to the usb port and it works fine, yet I continue to receive this error and can't use my phone!

    A printer does not require power, and does not transfer large amounts of data. So that is not a valid test. It's like saying "if I plug a nightlight into an outlet it works fine, so why do 2 hair dryers on at the same time trip a circuit breaker?"
    Are you using a port directly on the computer, and not a hub? If it's not a laptop and it has ports on front and back are you using a back port, which can supply more power?
    Have you EVER used this computer to hack or jailbreak ANY iPhone (not necessarily the one with the problem? Or used a program to downgrade the version of iOS on any phone?

    Plug it into your computer and restore it. It is in recovery mode. Anything that was on the phone is already gone. If the pictures and videos were not backed up, then there is no way to retrieve them.

    Hello, When I plug the Acer Liquid Z220 smartphone to the USB charger or the computer, the phone gets crazy... First, sometimes, it produces an endless loop error notifying that “system UI has stopped” and I can press indefinitely “OK” or “Report” on the message box.Otherwise, sometimes, the GUI keeps blinking/restarting indefinitely.If not, when I’m using the phone through its screen at the same time of charging, the phone gets only some of my taps, generate taps by itself and/or gets slow.The occurrence of these problems is totally random. To stop these problems when one of them occurs, I only have to unplug the USB cable. But still, the phone is unusable through its screen while charging. So, when the phone is charging, some of its software and/or hardware are unstable. When the phone is off while charging, it’s fine: the screen shows the battery charging icon, then it stands by. Finally, when charging after a few minutes, strangely, it’s not the battery that gets suddenly hot, but the area of the back camera (I suppose some component on the integrated circuit gets hot quickly). Is that normal? I have not installed any app yet, and the phone has just been out of its package box. No SIM card installed yet. What is wrong with this phone?

    I had gotten a similar problem, except with "provider services", i believe, but i solved it by copying sqlite3.dll from E:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Apple Application Support to E:\Program Files\Common Files\Apple\Mobile Device Support. doing that solved my first problem, but now i have been getting the error described in this topic (unable to load dataclass info... etc.). i tried reinstalling itunes (i already had 9.1.1, and thats what i reinstalled) by using the method described on apples site (using the "remove programs" tool in the control panel) and then downloading and installing itunes. when i opened it again, i still got the same error, and just now i got an error saying "the instruction at "0x00aadb6b" referenced memory at "0x00000008". the memory could not be read" it gave me the option to cancel and debug, or to press ok and terminate the program. I tried pressing cancel, and the popup went away but nothing else happened. a minute later the popup was back, so i pressed ok and itunes quit. Upon opening Itunes again, i got the very same error. sorry for the long post, but its really been bugging me. thanks for any help you might give, and if you need anymore info, feel free to contact me.

    Update: my PC USB hub was connected to a USB 3 port, I connected the 30 pin cable directly to my PC, And the restore worked just fine. Restored phone from iCloud backup and seems to be working fine.
