AcfExecute on a PC without SAP Frontend Installed

Hi,
Is it possible to use AcfExecute on a PC without SAP Frontend installed.
I have a requirement of starting a local .bat file an a Client pc. It will be triggered from a Webdynpro ABAP application.
I've set up a whitelist and everything is working fine on my development machine after activing the whitelist.
But, has anyone tried it on a PC without SAP Frontend Installed? Could that work too. By manually placing the SAPFrontendService.xml file on that target pc?  Or how can it be done? Any special tweeks necessary?
Planning to test this on Monday at a Client site and if anyone could share your experiense regarding this I'd be very greatful.
Best Regards
Mikael

Hallo Mikael,
See also the following SAP Notes ...

https://service.sap.com/sap/support/notes/1402024 (SAP Active Component Framework 7.12 - Patch Note)
Since March 2010 SAP does also provide a standalone ACF-Client-Installation on SAP Service Market Place.

  • Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc?

Can we configure SAP server installed in RHEL in windows sapmmc(Which is also sap server with same version and same DB)?
I have tried to configure using help from previous post in SCN ( SAP MMC in one server to control the entrie landscape ) but it is not working...  As picture shown below after entering the details am clicking on add but nothing is happening...
Scenario is I have installed 4 VM's with SAP installed in all (out of it 3 linux and 1 windows) & all communicating well and they are in same Network/Landscape & I can configure/manage/logon all servers in host GUI... But If I shutdown my VM or a Laptop...  Every time I have to start all the servers... by starting lsnrctl, DB, sap for all the servers,
Is there any chance to configure sap in windows sapmmc...???
Kindly suggest the process step by step...
    Thanks in advance...

    Hi Yüksel
Thank you for the reply It helped me to configure but i struck in some place.. Dispatcher is getting stopped... I tried to add 3 different sap servers in sapmmc and tried to start.. Three are getting same errors(Guess same error)
After your suggestion i was able to configure and start SIDadm of host but immediately or after 30sec Dispatcher gets stopped tried to find out some solutions but didnt worked... But i was able to start from there servers manually in linux way startsap, but not in SAPMMC way...
Could you or please help me in solving trace given below...

  • CAF without SAP Portal

    Hi,
Is it possible to use ALL CAF functionalities and potentialities without having portal installed?
A customer has portal from other vendor and wants to use our CAF Framework to develop composite applications and integrate with their portal, is this possible?
    Thanks & Regards,
    John

    Hi,
Depends on what you want to use from the CAF framework:
    1. CAF core
    2. CAF UI/Guided Procedures
CAF core is a toolset and a runtime environment to create business applications, which can be published as, for instance, web services.
These webservices can be used from any other system/language. For the execution of these applications you need at least a SAP Web Application Server with the CAF components installed.
With CAF UI you can model processes in the portal, based on services that can reside anywhere, and execute these from within the portal. For this you need a SAP Portal installation.

  • SAP GUI Install Issues on computers using VISTA

Installed SAP GUI many times on Windows XP computers, but having issues on your new VISTA system?
There are two major issues for SAP GUI on VISTA, here is an overview of how to solve them:
    1. The unzipping wizard native to VISTA is lousy. Download the WinZip demo (www.winzip.com) or one of many free archiving tools. Make sure to unzip the SAP GUI file WITH FOLDERS. Use Windows Explorer to drill down through the unzipped GUI as shown. Double click SapGuiSetup.exe to start your installation...
    2. The saplogon.ini file MUST be placed in the SAP GUI installation folder, not into C:\Windows.
    The folder is:
    C:\Program Files\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui
    or for 64bit:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\SAP\FrontEnd\SAPgui
Restart SAP GUI to properly display your server list. Contact your Hosting Center if you continue to have issues. Our email is sap at csuchico.edu

    Troy -
There is also this link recently which may be of help.
SAPgui 720 PL1 upgrade causing IE 7/8 issues
Running this resolved that users issue.
    C:\Program Files\sap\sapsetup\setup\"sapregsv.exe mshtml.tlb"
In your case it may be under the x86 folder since you are 64bit.
    C:\Program Files (x86)\sap\sapsetup\setup\"sapregsv.exe mshtml.tlb"

  • Doubts about SAP Frontend server.

    Hello guys.
I am gonna install SAP R/3 47 IDES on my local PC. I am reading SAP Front End Installation Guide. Must I install SAP Frontend server too? Or just Frontend?
    Regards,
    Flavio Aquino.

The "frontend server" is just a PC running a SAPGUI; don´t get confused with "server" as "SAP server".

  • Creating a Mavericks USB boot drive after the horse has bolted.  Can I create a bootable USB drive from my iMac after installing Mavericks without saving the Install OS X Mavericks.app file?  Do I need to re- download the whole 5.29 Gb again?

Creating a Mavericks USB boot drive after the horse has bolted.  Can I create a bootable USB drive from my iMac after installing Mavericks without saving the Install OS X Mavericks.app file?  Do I need to re- download the whole 5.29 Gb from the App Store again?  My problem is my 4Gb/month allowance on a 12 month contract.  I cannot purchase a data block from my ISP and although my speed is theoretically slowed to 64k after reaching my 4Gb, it actually ceases to download in reality.

HI tasclix, it depends what you mean by an OS X boot drive.
If you want a recovery disk from which you can reinstall (by re-downloading) or recover from a time machine backup, then nbar is correct.
If, however, you want to boot and run the OS X installer from the USB drive (so that you don't need to download again), then you will need a copy of "Install OS X  Mavericks.app"; see this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT5856
Before downloading again, search your system to see if the installer is still there - it's usually in the /Applications folder unless it has been deleted, but check your whole system for it anyway, you never know, you might still have it somewhere.

  • Workflow for EP without SAP R/3

    Hi WF Expert,
I am new to SAP EP Workflow, currently working on my first project. This is a project for a University, wherein we have to implement students admission process for distance education . We have to using WebDynpro tool for this portal and backend oracle database. Here there is no SAP R/3 server only EP server.
So my question is that without SAP R/3 admission process workflow is possible in portal or not. If yes how can i develop / configure and customizing the same workflow. Is there any tool in EP here we can do this.
Please any one can guide me the same and send me some documents which is related to EP workflow..
    Regards,
    Jnana Ranjan

You can use Guided Procedures which is a "light" edition of Business Workflow.
Search for 'Guided Procedure' and you will find a lot of documentation and material guiding you through implementation of various types of solutions.

  • How to set up Group Policy without any server installed

How to set up Group Policy on Win8 without any server installed?
I have set up 50 users on LAN and want to push softwares via one common point. From google I found to deploy Software using Group Policy. But then Group Policy occurs in Servers and I don't have any server set up.

    Hello,
a Domain requires at least one Windows server OS machine which has Active Directory installed.
As previous already mentioned from SenneVL this also requires that computers are added to the domain and that you create user accounts in Active Directory users and computers which stores the account information in the Active directory database.
In your case with single computers each machine has its own database(SAM) which stores passwords etc. this is different in a domain.
Each computer has a local policy which will be overwritten from centrally managed policies from the domain.
"The common point would be my PC (Admin PC) ."
This machine can not be used for your needs with software installation for 50 computers.
"How To Use the Group Policy Editor to Manage Local Computer Policy."
This is about the local machine and you cannot manage them for other computers from your Admin PC.
"DOMAIN part: By default Microsoft takes everyone on Workgroup. Is that not a default DOMAIN? or should I make one lets say "ABC" on every PC ?"
NO, this is NOT a domain.

  • View PDF File Without Adobe Reader Installed

    All,
Is there a way to serve PDF files on a website to users without Adobe Reader installed on their machine?  Is there a plug-in that I can install on the webserver that will be used to launch PDF files instead?

  • How to watch flash based videos without adobe flash installed using Safari

How do I watch flash based videos without adobe flash installed using Safari?

Once you have Chrome installed, activate the Develop menu in Safari (go to Safari Preferences > Advanced > Show Develop Menu). You then will see under the Develop menu the Open Page With option and Chrome will be listed there.
So each time you open a page with Safari requiring Flash, you use that menu option to open the same page in Chrome.

  • Is Apple Pro Res viewable on computers WITHOUT Final Cut installed?

I have used Apple Pro Res to compress 3d animation and it looks great, far better than any codec so far. Now I find that it is only viewable on computers with Final Cut Pro 6 installed.
I am planning to exhibit the work as quicktimes, but need to use computers without Final Cut installed. Is there any way to import the codec into a Quicktime pro library so movies with Apple Pro Res are viewable on computers WITHOUT Final Cut on them???
    Thanks!

ProRes is only licensed with FCP, and can only be installed along with FCP. You could transcode your clips into the Animation codec and try playing them on the other systems.

  • MIFI4620LE Jetpack blinking amber light--does this mean the battery is bad? Should the unit operate without the battery installed if plugged in?

MIFI4620LE Jetpack blinking amber light--does this mean the battery is bad? Should the unit operate without the battery installed if plugged in?

The MIFI4620LE Jetpack does not work without a battery installed, even when connected to an external power supply.
I personally think that was a dumb design. I would think the unit would use more electricity when continually charging the battery than just powering the unit it's self, but that's the way Novatel made them.
If your Jetpack works with the battery installed and connected to an external power supply, but does not power on with power supply disconnected, I would say that the battery is defective or worn out.
You should be able to go to a nearby Verizon Store and have them either test the battery or put a new one in it to see if it works. Then you will know if you need to spend the $$ for a new battery. OR if you always use your Jetpack at home, or in your car, just use the old battery connect to a power supply or your cigarette lighter and save the cash.
As the Customer Support person stated, the slow blinking amber light is a normal state when the Jetpack is turned on and connected to Verizon's service.
I hope this solves your problem.
