ACI Alert - Application Sharing

Hello All,
Has anyone see the following alert when launching Application Sharing on NW SP12?
<b>ACI Alert
ACI Error: The communication with the server has been disconnected, you have to login again. (1101)</b>
To generate this error, I go through the CLP, select the Contact that I want to share the application with, I then select the application at which point I get the error.
My system pretty much freezes up and I have to forcefully close my Internet Explorer session.
My Application Sharing parameters are:
SecureMode = 1
ServerName = <fully qualified domain of server)
ServerPath = streamingserver/servlet/streamingserver
ServerPort = 50000
Version    = 1729
I've searched for this error in the Forum logs but have not found anything.
Can anyone provide assistance?
Thanks in advance for your help!
~H

  • Application sharing not working

    Hi,
I configured various settings according to the docs on help.sap.com for this application sharing. The instant messaging is working but the app sharing is not working. I am just getting a blank screen whenever I try to start a session. Am I missing some or the other thing. Can anyone tell what could be the reason.
    rgds,

    Hi,
I might repeat some of the steps that you have already perform, but this just to make sure that everything is covered.
Let’s concentrate on the sharer machine (the machine from which the user is trying does start application sharing):
In this stage, it is clearly a problem of downloading the ActiveX if you can't see one of the application sharing objects under Internet Option -> Security -> Custom Level.
The names of the objects that you should look for are:
    ExpApplSelect” or “ExpApplShareX”.
1.Did you tried to start application sharing from more than one machine? Is this behavior happened also on the other machines?
2.The windows user that is logged on to the machine and is performing the download should be administrator on that machine. Is that is the case?
3.Do the browser security settings allow the downloading and running of the signed ActiveX control? The following entries are relevant:
      - Download signed ActiveX control- set to prompt.
      -  Run ActiveX control and plug-ins – set to enable
    4. Do you receive any messages when trying to start the application sharing? Do you receive a prompt window for downloading the ActiveX?
    Thanks,
    Eynat

    hi ,
I have installed application sharing server on a seprate machine . Initially it was working fine ,but now when i try accessing this service the window does not pop up .Where is the log file generated for this ? Is there some network issue that needs to be resolved.
    Thanks
    alok

    hi Akhilesh ,
Yes, the server is up and running.I have a doubt with the pop-up blocker can you how it is has to be enabled.when i go to TREX monitor in Monitoring in System Administration --> Server status
Index server and Queue server status is red.
Where to check for this in case of Application sharing server.
I tried running the logviewer.bat ,even after passing the parameters it is not able to connect.

  • Where is the Application Sharing defaulttrace.trc file located?

    Hi,
In a help document it says this:
    a.      Set the Application Sharing Server trace file (defaultTrace.trc) to severity info and try to start a new session.
but where is the Application Sharing file located? or it means the J2EE defaultTrace file?
    Thanx in Advanced!
    Kind Regards,
    Gerardo J

    Hi Gerardo,
Collaboration uses the logging mechanisms of the J2EE Engine. Therefore it is the defaultTrace.trc  under .../usr/sap/<SID>/Jxx/j2ee/cluster/serverX/log/ .

  • Any idea for high display resolution in application sharing server ?

    Hi.
I installed EP6 SP 13 with KMC and configure collaboration feature.
I tested application sharing and It works.
    Then, I found problem.
Problem is that application sharing server doesn't support 1400x1050 display resolution. (only works till 1280x1024)
Is there any idea for solving this issue ?
    Regards, Arnold.

    Hi Arnold,
I'm afraid this screen resolution is not yet supported. The official supported screen resolution is 1024x768 ! but as you stated it <b>can</b> work wit 1280x1024. You could open an OSS ticket and ask the KM Development for plans on supporting higher resolutions in application sharing and let us also know.
    Hope this helps,
    Robert

Yes, I can see how that could happen, and what the probable solution is.
Now, normally I'd just hand over the answer, but this is one of the occasions when it seems to me that I'd be making a free gift of valuable consultancy to a company that's probably fully capable of paying for it.
Convince me you're a non-profit organisation, and I'll spill the beans. Otherwise, how much is this worth?

  • Unknown Devices appearing in Application Sharing

I have noticed a number of unknown devices are listed in the application sharing section of Hub Manager. Does this pose a security threat and is there any way I can prevent external access of this kind? There doesn't seem to be any way of removing them from the list.
    Thanks.

Is does sound like your hubs wireless encryption could of been compromised
Or a family member has given out the wireless key - maybe for a friend to use the broadband connection....
I'd change the wireless encryption key with immediate effect....
(note - The hub will not show what wireless device that is connected to the Fon/Openzone SSID, but some hubs do allow the user to check to see if the Fon/Openzone SSID is being used)

  • Cross-application sharing problem in Application Server(OC4J)

    I use OC4J 9.0.3 version.
    Cross-application sharing.
The "parent" declaration is made in the <application> tag within server.xml.
    these appear as follows:
    <application name="A" path="a.ear" />
    <application name="B" path="b.ear" parent="A" />
The structure of an a.ear file is:
    a.ear
    - META-INF
    - a.war ---- a.jsp
    ---------- WEB-INF --- web.xml
    ------------------------- classes
    ------------------------- lib ---- util1.jar, util2.jar
The structure of an b.ear file is:
    b.ear
    - META-INF
    - b.war ---- b.jsp
    ------------ WEB-INF --- web.xml
    ----------------------------classes
    ----------------------------lib --- util3.jar, util4.jar
    when b.jsp call b class in util3.jar and b class call a class(PosFinexMonitoringMgr) in util1.jar
    I have following error :
    "java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/.../.../.../.../app/tasks/PosFinexMonitoringMgr"
Has anyone else have solution to solve this problem?
maybe, must I declare Class-Path attribute of manifest.mf in util3.jar?
then, how to declare Class-Path attribute?
    like this ?
    Class-Path : ../../../../a/a/WEB-INF/lib/util1.jar
    Thanks,

    Hello,
I was just wondering if the approach mentioned above is the correct one for sharing libraries across different applications.
Very similarly, we have more than one ear modules in our project. (up to 10 or more) These ear's contain web and ejb modules. Since libraries used for any web application (i.e. jsf implementation libs) are included in every ear, our goal was to put them in a common ear and point web application's class loader to this directory.
However, I couldn't make this happen, with adding them to manifest file of war, or assigning the common ear as the parent of other ears.
Although it's for oas9i, I read the whitepaper, it's ok with adding the common libraries to one ear and share libraries across different war files under this ear, across the applications, I couldn't make it possible.
The application server version we use is 10.1.3.3. I can give you more details on our implementation, if you would approve that such an approach like this is acceptable.
    Many thanks & regards,
    Ece

    Hi,
Is it possible to show video/audio files through application sharing.
    Thanks &Regards
       Developer

    Hi Raghu thanks,
My requirement is, using application sharing  i want to watch a video file running in mediaplayer from some others desktop.
Currently i can see all applications in my desktop thru application sharing except video(mpeg)\audio files.
When i try to see video files, mediaplayer comes with a blank view but the progress bar is moving while application is running properly in the accessed desktop.
Is this is a problem in streaming server ?
How to change the settings of streamingserver ? or any other solution available ?

  • SCF and Application sharing server

    Hi,
When reading the installation guide of KM and collaboration room, I've seen that there is an application sharing server that is also installed but I've find which application it hosted.
Is it the host for Synchronous Collaboration Framework ?
Does any one have some documentation about the relation between SCF and Application sharing server ?
    Thanks
    Thomas

    Hi Thomas,
The app sharing server is to drive RTC Application Sharing and the streaming of data.
The SCF is an integration framework to enable 3rd party synchronous tools to be used with NW Collaboration.
One example is the WebEx integration.
SAP RTC offering for AppSharing is also exposed to the applications via SCF.
