Acidized files & Logic

I still can't figure out why my .wav format Acidized loops won't work in Logic. If I drag the loop directly from its folder onto the arrange pane it should stretch or compress to whatever master tempo Logic is at, correct? The loops are 16/44.1. Will they not playback correctly at a higher bitrate? My project sample rate is 44.1 but my bit rate is 24. Maybe that's the problem? I don't know. I dropped four acidized loop folders onto the loop browser and now only one folder shows up under Jam Pack Management or some weird thing. I'm feeling like a total idiot. But seriously it seems like it should't be this difficult. What am I doing wrong?

Because Logic doesn't support Acidized files, any additional meta data will be ignored and the audio data just loaded as a regular conventional audio file.

An Acidised wave file is not the same thing as an Apple Loop. The loop browser is for Apple Loops.

Hi Vijay,
Check transaction FILE or use FM FILE_GET_NAME_USING_PATH or FILE_GET_NAME_AND_LOGICAL_PATH
to retrieve the path.
Also check program RSFILENA and table PATH.

Default mastering file Logic Pro 9

I have Logic Pro 9 and Logic X installed. Most of my current work is done on Logic 9 as I am still learning X. I set up a default mastering file so that when I master a song, I start the default file and drag the PCM version of the file into the mastering file. All the inserts I need are pre-configured, ie; multimeter, EQ, multipressor etc. Every once in a while when I want to master a song, I click on the default mastering file I created, and it launches Logic X. Is there any way to prevent this from happening. Once this happens, I have to delete the mastering file I created and re-create it using Logic Pro 9. Logic X will always start as the default unless I do this. Anyone have similar problem and work around?

It might be, but the OP seems to like to simply double click on the Mastering Project file. Equally simple, especially if it is locked, to prevent accidental overwriting.
2x click the file, (Logic opens, if it isn't already), File Save As, start work

hi,
i need to create xml, csv files logically in the server not physically using ByteArrayOutputStream etc., and display it using response.setcontenttype(). i have done this for pdf files. is this possible for xml and csv?
any help will be appreciated.

I don't know what "logically" and "physically" mean there, but whatever you did for PDF, do that for XML and CSV also. Or did you try that already and you have a specific problem you want to ask about?

File Logical Path Issue

Well your logical file looks more like a physical one. In any event, the documentation for th eFM saus that "The file name must be in upper case letters, since the logical file names are stored in upper case in the Customizing tables for the platform-independent file names."
Maybe you should be filling in the parameter FILE_NAME_WITH_PATH instead.

Midi file Logic Express 7.2 and Sibelius 4.10

Hi All
I am using Logic Express 7.2 to export a midi file then importing it into Sibelius 4.10, this works fine on G5 mac but not on an intel iMac.
The Sibelius error is "There was a problem opening the midi file: Not a format 0 or 1 midi file"
I have contacted Sibelius support and they have said this is a Logic problem.
My own research has shown that if the logic file has only one track and I export a midi Sibelius will open it but not a multiple track file. As mentioned above G5 macs have no problem whatsoever.
Has anyone come across this or have any suggestions please. Thanks

I have discovered one thing, after deleting preferences,etc.: it seems that everything start because my evolution USB keyboard is connected with usb to powerbook. I have tried also with another USB Edirol keyboard, and it's the same. Instead, if I connect the keyboard with MIDI the 1082 works again. Strange because: 1) before update, usb and firewire were connected and everything was fine, 2) now in the same usb port a guitar rig board is connected and the 1082 works as usual... ?!?!?!?!

Emagic Logic Control firmware install file Logic 8 pro

Can anyone help by telling me how to install the firmware on my old Logic Control. I have tried to run the Mackie midi update and now the Logic Control will not boot, I thing the firmware has been damaged. Emagic used to send a .mid file does anyone have it? I was burgled and all my software discs were taken. Please help if you can.

its not showing in my audio midi set up - but never has previously...but the device it connects via does show up - From what was said in the quick start guide, you only have to add it as a control surface within logic...Where logic already has the relevant driver; waiting to be selected from a list...As for updating anything; I havn't touched a thing. It was literally a case of one day, everything worked; the next day it didn't - mackie said logic had made a corrupt preference file (user/whatever your user nameis/library/preferences/logic) that their would be a file named should be something like
(Com.apple.logic.pro.CS) which there was, and to drag the file to the trash then restart the
computer...This did work to an extent; the 'v-pot' part of the control which had stopped working came back to life and everything now works fine...accept the jog/timeline issue...
I have added it in Audio Midi set up...in the hope that it will help - What properties should I set it to have? anything special - Appologies for seeming dense, I just make music; normally things just seem to have worked! And my technical knowledge is somewhat lacking im affraid.

When I try to Brows Cube (SSAS 2005), I get below error (Sometimes):

and I think due to above Error, Index on a Particular Attribute (EMP_ID) of a DIMENSION DIM_EMP is getting dropped from FEW of the Partitions (Folders) and started getting new error:

I followed the above path and did not find file 688.DIM_EMO.EMP_ID.fact.map in folder PARTITION_2013Q31.0.prt. Once I rebuild the Index (ProcessIndex) for this partition, I am able to See file 688.DIM_EMO.EMP_ID.fact.map.
But again when next time I get error "Insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service", Then 688.DIM_EMO.EMP_ID.fact.map will be dropped and will not be available in folder PARTITION_2013Q31.0.prt.
Anyone had similar issue. Could you please share your experience and resolution if any.

In your scenario, the issue occur at sometimes, right? Base on my research, the issue can be caused by that calculation estimate exceeded available memory. Possibly due to possible number of dimension members and sizes of keys. And 32bit environment didn’t
allow for any expansion to the SSAS memory space.
To avoid this issue, please try to use userva to fine tune the 3GB setting down to 2900 since /3GB is the likely
cause (has been for most other customers who encountered the same problem before). The KB Articles below discuss that setting in detail.
How to use the /userva switch with the /3GB switch to tune the User-mode space to a value between 2 GB and 3 GB

Audio file Logic issue

Import audio file logic to MainStage

I did cut an audio file in Logic and I can't import this file in Mainstage. But the full audio file working. Seems to be the modification with Logic cannot be import by mainstage???

I don't think it's a simple option to allow audio tracks to appear in groups because of the basic Motion workflow.
And I don't think it's limiting thinking. You have to consider what a program was designed for vs what it can do. End Users inevitably put programs to uses which the program itself was never intended and that's fine, but just because you work with audio one way in FCP doesn't mean that Motion should have the same workflow. Particularly if it impedes the main function of the program.

How do I get Logic to stop looking for a specific .wav file?

I recently imported a project I started in GarageBand into Logic Pro. Once in Logic, I edited and added to the project then saved it as a Logic project file. I deleted the original project from GarageBand. Now, when I open the Logic file, Logic is still looking for .wav files that were used in the original GarageBand file. None of these files are actually needed in my project. Is there a way that I can get Logic to stop looking for these .wav files?

How to get Logic's "Open" command to look in last place a file was opened?

All of the sudden, when I "Open" a file in Logic, instead of looking in the folder I last opened a file Logic takes me way deep into the system library and I have to navigate all the way out by hand to my music folder. How do I set the default file open preference?
And, no, I don't want to use "Open Recent" instead.

Someone else just asked the same question a minute ago, so for the record here's my answer to him. The first part is just what Eriksimon said, but I guess confirmation is no bad thing!

Save a file to somewhere different; next time you save a file, this will be the new default.
However, other applications may also have a say in this, so be vigilant!
You can add favourite destinations to the Open/Save dialogue box by opening a window in the Finder & dragging the folder you want into the sidebar. Then whenever you use the Save dialogue, you can just click on that folder — & you're in it.

Logic crashes when I open a particular file

Hi, Logic just started crashing on me and usually I could reopen the file, undo a few levels and carry on...However I seem to have saved something just before a crash which actually caused the crash, so that now when I open that file Logic crashes immediately, leaving me no time to get in and undo. Until today it's been running nicely. The file has a 90-minute mpeg4 movie and some AU tracks running. I've already trashed the preferences file, and removed the video file to thre trash so it wouldn't be accessible, but still no go. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Logic crashes when I open a particular file...
As the old joke goes...
"Well, don't open it then..."
The first things to do is make some backups of what you have, just in case. Then try booting Logic without the audio drivers (or turn them off) and see if you can load the song.
Also, try deactivating your third-party plugs (a snap with AUManager, or move them temporarily out of your components folder), and seeing whether it will load then.
I would guess that the song is corrupted, so once you can get it to load, I would suggest you start copying all the necessary stuff (regions, automation, channel settings etc etc) into a new, uncorrupted song.
Also, you can try and go back through your auto-numbered backup files, assuming you have the function turned on - you might be able to open a version of the song before the corruption. And if you didn't have that autobackup feature turned on - well, I suggest you do from now on!
If you get no joy doing all that, post back and we'll go from there.

Logic 8 plays split stereo files random

When I play a split stereo file Logic 8 plays those files random, they aren't synced together. Sometimes some audio files aren't playing at all. Stop and play solves in most cases this problem. I have this on several harddisks.
It seems like a defragmented harddisk. I erased and re-formatted the harddisk already, no results. I use DAE and Core Audio together.
Any suggestions?

which are the interfaces that you have for not DAE tracks?
Is this issue only on the DAE tracks?
This not a Logic problem .. or better I never got this problem!
How many DAE tracks are in your DAE preference settings...
are you sure that you have the DAE DSPs power that can play all tracks that you have selected?
