ACME install on local machine

Hi,
I've been using developer edition of CF MX7 with the built in
server on my local win xp machine for a while, but I'd like to use
virtual hosts, so I installed apache + CF MX7 on my laptop
following the ACME guide.
It works well, but it feels quite complex, different
directory structure, all that JRun stuff etc.
It left me wondering if I really need the multiserver
configuration recommended in the ACME guide - couldn't it be
simplified by installing apache and single server version of CFMX
7?
All my sites are hosted with the same hosting company
running CFMX7 on IIS 6, so I don't need to test locally on multiple
versions or configurations of CF and I also do some Flex and Flash
Remoting work and I'm wondering if the multiserver setup doesn't
need some extra configuration for remoting.
Thanks for any tips on this!

I wouldn't think you would need the multi-server
configuration. The
single server version will definitely work with Apache. I
have no idea
why this guide would have you install multi-server whether it
is needed
or not. This is the first time I have heard of it.

  • Provider 'Microsoft.SQLServerMPPOLEDBProvider' not installed on local machine - Power Pivot/PDW

    Hello,
This is my first post, so I apologize if I'm violating any etiquette or protocol here. I've scoured for answers to this question and found none, so this is my last resort.
I'm using Office 365 Excel (64-bit). In my Excel Data Model, I have tried to connect to our SQL Server 2012 PDW by selecting 'Other Sources' and 'Microsoft SQL Server Parallel Data Warehouse'. After inputting the server and login information, the connection
fails, citing that "The Microsoft.SQLServerMPPOLEDBProvider is not registered on the local machine."
I can't find any information about this provider, and when I change the provider to any other value in the connection string, it fails as well.
Does anyone have any ideas about where I might find this provider and why it wasn't registered in the first place?
    Thank you,
    Jess

    Hi Jess,
For the PDW you have to enter the path to an IDS file containing the connection information, please see the article below:
    http://ms-olap.blogspot.com/2013/05/connecting-to-pdw-from-powerpivot.html
In addition, PDW v2 support sqlncli11 or, the driver used to connect to sql server 2012. Please use that to connect.

  • Portal Installed on Local Machine...

    Dear Alll,
I have jst installed SAPNW2004sJavaSP9_Trial on my system. But I am unable to open the portal now.
Is it because of the services and the server that are not started properlly??
After installation , I clicked on SAP Management Console. In which when I am cliking on SAP Systems under Console Root, SAP Management Console hangs all the time. So I am unable to start the server. I have restarted my system also after installation. I have set the Java_home varible also.
After installation, wht are the steps I should follow ??

When you installed Portal on your system. It also install MaxDB database (in case of newer portal). You can go through Services to check if its running.
Run -> type "Services.msc". Check for MaxDB service, if its not running. Start it. and then try to start portal through SAP Management Console.

    Hi All,
I am trying to upload/publish documents from my local drive on to Infoview so users can see them in infoview. We can do that by clicking "New" button and selecting the document. But is there a way to do this programatically? I have to upload documents into different folders based on the type of the document.
My environment is Crystal Reports Server XI R2.
    Appreciate your help.

    Two routes for this.
    1) Install the local machine tools from your server disk, and use the publishing wizard.
    2) Inside crystal reports - Click file -> Save As -> Enterprise and choose which folder to save it in

itunes will not install or uninstall because  hkey-local-machine\software\classes\.m3u\openwithlist\itunes.exe   no permission.  I can edit and delete every other regedit but not this key

I found this solution on the Apple Support Forums. Adding the SYSTEM account is what worked for me:
+Let's check your permissions on the key.+
+In your "Start Search" box, type run and click on the Run that comes up. In your run, type regedit and hit enter.+
    +In regedit:+
    +Expand HKEYLOCALMACHINE+
    +Expand SOFTWARE+
    +Expand CLASSES+
+Right-click on pcast and select "Permissions".+
+Select your user account name. Do you have full control of the key? If so, also select SYSTEM. Does the SYSTEM account have full control of the key?+

  • The 'Microsoft.ACE.OLEDB.12.0' provider is not registered on the local machine (Windows Server 2008 R2 (64) vs MS Office 2007)

We just have switched our local server from 32-bit to 64-bit machine and now we have Windows Server 2008 R2 Service
Pack 1 with MS Office 2007. On server we are running an application in ASP.Net 3.5 using visual studio
2008. All users have 32-bit windows 7 and MS Office 2007.
when user tries to import data from Excel to Database (SQL Server 2005), error comes as
"microsoft.ace.oledb.12.0 provider is not registered on local machine".
I have tried a solution by installing Access Database Engine 2007 Office System Driver on the Server, but the error
was same. Now what should I do to resolve this problem??? Should we install Office 2010 64-bit on the Server or is there any other solution???

  • In OBIEE 11g How to Change  Import Type Local Machine to Remote Machine

    Hi All,
I Have Installed OBIEE 11g Client tools in my Machine and server is in Other Server.when i tried to Import metadata i am getting Connection Falied error.
When i tried to import metadata in import type option i can see only one option Local Machine that is also in Disable mode.
how to make import type option to Remote.
    Thanks and Regards
    Kiran Kumar

In BI EE 10g, there was no Oracle Client bundled along with BI EE. So, BI EE will use your Oracle DB Home client to connect to the database. So, when you try to connect to the database through the Repository or BI Server, it will try to find the tnsnames entry in the Oracle Client of BI EE 11g instead of your database. There are 2 options to work around this
Copy your tnsnames.ora and Paste it to
    1. Drive:Oracle\Middleware\Oracle_BI1}network\admin
    2 Drive:Oracle\Middleware\oracle_common\network\admin
    TNS File like,
    DBName =
    (DESCRIPTION =
    (ADDRESS = (PROTOCOL = TCP)(HOST = Your Server IP)(PORT = 1521))
    (CONNECT_DATA =
    (SERVER = DEDICATED)
    (SERVICE_NAME = DBName)

  • How to allow user to select pdf file on local machine and populate field with file name only

    Folks,
I have a project requirement that I am stumped on.  I am admittedly a novice, so forgive questions that may seem obvious.
My requirement is a form running on a client system where the user can click a button and select a PDF file name from a PDF on their local machine and then populate a form field with that file path & filename.  The file names vary between all machines, so there is no static list.  Note that the PDF is not embedded, nothing is executed, I simply need the file name.
There are several of these on a form (20+), so manual name entry is too error prone.   I would like to use a 'browse' type dialog, but can not figure out how to implement it.
I've looked at app.browseForFile, but the users can not install a javascript file in their adobe folder or any other files;  the functionality has to be integral with the original PDF.
Functionally, this is no different from the image object file browse, except that I need a PDF instead of an image file, so there doesn't seem like there should be a security issue that is any different from those surrounding the image object.
I've been stumped on this for the entire week, and I have a deadline rapidly approaching, so any examples or suggestions (please remember I'm a novice) would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks for the reply Paul - do you have any sample code of how to attach the PDF?  Or how the user can select a PDF to open?  I might be able to attach it, retrieve the file name, and then un-attach it.
Alternatively, do you know how to retrieve the file name from the imagePath object?  It will let you select PDF files, but I can't find info on how to retrieve the file name.   It should be the way you would retrieve the file name for an image.
As a novice in this, thanks for your help and patience!

I have applied IPsec policy on local machine(ip address:10.82.138.76) with windows server 2008 ent r2 installed, only permit local machine to comunicate with itself, one other server(ip address:10.82.138.77) and the gateway device(ip address:10.82.138.1).After
i asigned this policy,i can ping the gateway (ip address:10.82.138.1),and the other server(ip address:10.82.138.77),but i can't ping local machine itself(ip address:10.82.138.76),could anybody tell me why and how to solve this problem? When i applied the same

    Hi,
    Thanks for your post.
First, try to ping the loopback address 127.0.0.1. If the loopback test succeeds but you cannot ping the local IP address, please post the unedited
ipconfig /all and route print of the problematic computer.
For test purpose, you may refer to the following lab step by step guide to deployment Tunnel Mode IPsec. Hope it helps.

    Hi All,
I have a requirement to load data from flatfiles stored on particular location, on a machine on which BODS client istallation is there.
I am able to create a flat file format by browsing the file location and giving file name.I can view the file data also.

    Hi Ozkantr,
The osql utility is installed by SQL Server. You need to make sure the utility is installed on your colleague machine.
To run SSIS package outside the BIDS, only the DTExec utility which is a client tool is not enough, the server components for Integration Services Service (SSIS runtime) is also required. To install SSIS runtime and DTExec utility, we must install the Integration
Services shared feature from the SQL Server install media. So, you need to install SSIS service on the machine where the SSIS packages jobs run.

You need to install Integration Services, which installs the necessary bytes on your computer and the SSIS service as well. The service can be disabled though, you don't need it to run packages.
I wrote a blog post about it some time ago:
    When is DTEXEC installed?
ps: osql is deprecated. Better start using sqlcmd.
