Acpi_call not working. [did before]

Hi I'm coming back from a short session using Ubuntu. Previously I've always used acpi_call (from AUR) to turn off my Nvida card to gain full battery life. It has served me well all the time but now I cant get it to work at all and since I'm used to keep my laptop with me during the day without power adapter it's kind of a deal breaker.
The procedure:

Neither dmesg nor journalctl says anything else than that it was loaded correctly.
Have I missed something or does anyone know any solution?

Actually I first tried bbswitch but it didnt work so I went back too good old acpi_call, maybe a little bit too quickly. I'll give bbswitch another try!

After migrating Firefox 22 to new imac 10.8.4, quicktime not working as before?

I just bought a new imac (late 2012- 10.8.4), After migrating everything from my old imac (Early 2008 - 10.6.?), the video on my business website is no longer showing as before. (See: http://www.abhyasayogacenter.com). All the software in question is updated to the latest versions. I am wondering why the same software that was working on my previous computer is not working the same on the new one. And more importantly, is there a compatibility issue here with web page code. Everything was working on the latest version of Firefox 22 on my other computer. Why wouldn't it be working the same on my new computer? Is this true for all new imacs or just mine?

To Reset Firefox do the following:

RectVisible function not working as before on Windows 8

What I want to achieve (and did successfully before switching to win8.1) is to check whether the currently displayed windows (i.e. not minimized) visible parts (to the user) are crossing a selection rectangle I manages.
For that purpose I used to use successfully the RectVisible function after having retrieved the window handle of the displayed windows and their valid device context.
I insist that this code was working fine before, it is not new code !. Can you help with a potential explanation but more importantly with a solution or an
alternative method ?

BINARY SEARCH does not work as before after upgrade

We recently upgraded from HRSP 26 to HRSP 40 as well as similar upgrades in non-HR areas on our ECC 6.04 system. We've been in SAP since 1998, and have a lot of old custom programs which were written when we were still new at ABAP. In a few, we put records into an internal table sorted the table, maybe added a few more records to the table, and did a READ BINARY SEARCH. Granted, this is not correct, adding records to a table after it is sorted. But these programs have worked for more than 10 years and now, since our upgrade, the READ BINARY SEARCH does not always find a record where it did before the upgrade.
So this is mostly just a heads-up. If you are missing data in reports after upgrading, this might be the issue. Also I am wondering if anyone has experienced this.

Hi Janice,
you did not give any context. Please note that it is a popular error to think that a SELECT statement will fetch data in order of the primary key of the table - although it happens quite frequently. So always first sort, then binary search.
Probably not related to upgrade.

Bluetooth is not working like before Ios 4.0 on 3GS

Since i have the update from soft 3.x to 4.0 i have problems in my car to connect to the Car Bluetooth Car-Kit.
I have a original BMW bluetooth Car-Kit wich was working perfect.
Since the update to version 4.0 most of the times it would not connect automaticly with the Car. so the connection is not always there.
After a little bit of pressing settings (bluetooth) on the phone the connection is made.
I am affraid to update again to the newer one 4.01 because maybeit will not working anymore.
Before the update to 4.0 there was no problem at all , everytime when in the car the connection was made automaticly without any problems. Now it is 2/10 auto connected.
Already removed the connection and paired it . but the result is the same. No stable automatic connection. Once connected there is no problem until next Car-Ride.
Anyone with a solution ?

Thanks for your response ... yeah that's exactly what I wound up doing and it worked. Man what a nasty upgrade this has been.
Didn't expect to have to do a full restore of the iPOD. Of course that takes all the personal settings you made and nuked them back to the factory settings plus the latest system upgrade ... but hey ... it solved the problem. Wonder what's next?

Javascript bookmarklets not working like before

I use 1 line javascript bookmarklets.
They have the code %5Cn which used to send a carriage return, line feed so that I could have some text on 1 line, and the rest on a new line. But that does not work anymore. Everything is on the same line since updating to Safari 3.0.4.
I also tried using %5Cn%5Cr which should put a new line, carriage return. It did not make any difference.
What else could I try?

I've been experimenting with this and still can't get it to work.
Any one have any ideas?

Try this - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)

Updated to Flash Player 11 on Friday, and everything that requires flash has not worked, youtube, etc. I tried to install flash 10.3 with no success, however I'm not sure if I made an error somewhere. Anyone else experiencing this issue? My browser is IE8, hope that helps.

Ok, I received your PM that you couldn't post here, that your system is 32-bit, and Shockwave Flash is enabled.
What I would do in your situation is go to http://forums.adobe.com/thread/909550 and download
the 32-bit uninstaller
the 32-bit installer
then close all browser windows and run the downloaded uninstaller, followed by the installer.
Can you see the Flash animation at http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ after performing this?
