You have to unzip the file to a folder.
Go to the device manager and click on the ACPI\VEN_ASD&DEV_0001 device needing a driver.
Click on the driver tab.  Click on Update Driver.  Select the Browse my computer for driver software method, and browse to the driver folder you unzipped.
Make sure the include subfolders box is checked, and the driver should install.

  • Docking Station ACPI\DOCKDEVICE\_SB.GDCK This device cannot start.

    Since allowing TVSU to update "Lenovo Settings Dependency Package 8 [32, 64]" to version 1.2.5.8 yesterday, LSC and Device Manager complain about a problem with this device:
    Device ACPI\DockDevice\_SB.GDCK was configured.

    Matching Device ID: ACPI\DockDevice

    Although there are no corresponding errors in Windows Event Viewer, both MSINFO32 and Device Manager show this message:
    Docking Station ACPI\DOCKDEVICE\_SB.GDCK This device cannot start.
     Oddly enough, Device Manager now shows 2 entries named "Docking Station", although I can only recall seeing one before.  The second one (which does not indicate any problems) looks like this:
    Device ACPI\IBM0079\0 was configured.
    Driver Name: machine.inf
    Class GUID: {4D36E97D-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

     Although driver versions are listed above, when I try to access "Driver Details" in Device Manager, it claims (for both devices) that no driver is installed.
    Nonetheless, the update appears to have installed a driver:
    Driver Management concluded the process to install driver pmvuddrv.inf_amd64_2526415e83dcbc7a\pmvuddrv.inf for Device Instance ID ROOT\SYSTEM\0001 with the following status: 0x0.

    Service Type: user mode service
    Service Start Type: demand start
    Service Account: LocalSystem
     as indicated by the above messages in Event Viewer.
    Is there a known problem with this update?
    Shoudl  I roll it back?
    Is there a more elegant way to resolve this?
    P.S. Since the update of the Dependency Settings Package, these previously appearing error messages have stopped appearing in the Event. Viewer:

     However, there are now warnings like these:

  • Itunes/Iphone/Ipod device driver issues - tried everything. Still not working.

    After hours and hours of research, I'm completely stuck. Here's the basic problem.
    When I plug in my Iphone to my laptop, windows pulls up a little window that says installing device driver software. After several minutes, the process fails and a message comes up that says windows found drivers for my device, but encountered an error and wasn't able to install them. In the device manager, the iphone is listed as an "other device" with a yellow triangle/exclamation point. Itunes never recognizes the device.
    When I plug in my ipod nano 4th generation, the exact same thing happens, except it's listed in the device manager as an ipod. (same yellow triangle though.)
    Up until today, both of these devices have been working properly, syncing without trouble. The iphone synced wirelessly and the ipod every time I plugged it in. I can't figure out what on earth happened to my laptop today that messed things up.
    It's also worth noting that I have another older ipod nano... second generation, I think, that plugs in and is recognized immediately, works perfectly.
    Here is what I've done so far:
    1. I worked through every single troubleshooting guide that Apple has to offer. No change.
    2. I did a complete clean install of itunes and all additional components, rebooted and reinstalled. No change.
    3. I uninstalled/re-installed usb controllers in the device manager. No change.
    4. reset both the phone and the ipod. No change.
    5. I've tried various cables. No change.
    6. I've run system checks and repair utilities for windows vista.
    7. I've used selective start up to see if another program is interfering. I've stood on my head and counted to one hundred. I've only said seventeen swear words.
    At this point I've done so much searching and troubleshooting, I can't imagine how anything is going to fix this issue. So this is my last hope. Please oh please be smart enough to tell me what to do...

    Not sure if this is significant, but in a weird turn of events, when I tried plugging the ipod in this morning, the little message that pops up to install device driver software actually told me the drivers were installed successfully. However, in the device manager, it still says the drivers are NOT installed properly, the little yellow triangle is still there and the ipod still isn't registering in itunes, or my computer. So. Not really any improvement, but a different symptom none the less?
    I'm desperate, guys. Someone help?

  • Windows vista, Ipod shuffle 4th gen.  Computer cannot find device driver software for ipod.

    After several hours trying the troubleshooting options provided by the apple support site, I have come to what I think is the issue here.  My girlfriend recently got an ipod shuffle and when plugging it into her computer the dialog pops up saying it is installing device driver software for the ipod.  Eventually it asks me to insert the CD that came with the ipod.  No CD came with the ipod, so I click the option that says "I do not have my cd".  Then it gives me the option of searching automatically or manually for the driver software.  The automatic way can't find it.  Doing it manually, with the help of the troubleshooting page, didn't work either.  google search can't seem to help me on this one.  Also, I tried plugging the ipod into my computer (not hers) and it worked fine, it was able to install the device driver software on its own.  Does anybody know the issue here?  My computer has windows 7, and hers has vista.  Hers is Serice Pack 1.  When I tried installing service pack 2 it wouldnt work.  I don't know if that is the issue though.  I have tried just about everything, I think the issue is finding the device driver software.  When I do a google search nothing comes up, so I have no idea what to do at this point.  Any help would be appreciated, thanks.

    Well its surprising to know that! But even  have an ipod shuffle 3rd gen n dint face any problem like that. FYI no cd comes with the ipod jus take ur ipod to an apple exoert n he will solve ur problem .

    I have the same problem. I think that someone tried my iphone before me because when I want to reset it, I'm invited to enter a password that I didn't set. Also, when I go the Map application, the iphone indicate that I'm locateded in China while I'm in Tunisia. Now, I can't connect to my iphone to itunes, and I can't reset it because it ask me to enter a password that I didn't set.

  • Can't install Windows 7 Pro x64 - device driver missing - can't eject DVD

    Hello,
    I am trying to install Windows 7 Pro x64 - I create the partition in boot camp and start windows install process. **During the Windows install process**, it says "A required CD/DVD device driver is missing. If you have a driver floppy disk, CD, DVD, or USB flash drive, please insert it now. Note: if the Windows installation media is in the CD/DVD drive, you can safely remove it for this step".
    Apparently the drivers are on the OSX install DVD. But, there is no way to eject the windows DVD! Why on earth is there no manual eject on Macs? Is there another way to eject? I tried to put a paperclick in the slot next to where a CD is inserted but it didn't do anything. Is there another way to get Windows to see the correct device drivers?
    I am all for clean slick designs, but when it does not have all required functionality, it is kind of useless.
    I am talking to Mac Support and they can't help.
    Looks like I will have to return this Mac, I also need to boot into full Windows (without Parallels or VMWare) to do my work.

    You don't mention what Mac you have, so I'd have to say there is almost no way to help.
    IF the 7 Pro x64 came download ISO thru EDU, you have to burn it, and if you use Disk Utility, at 2X reduced burn speed... otherwise it won't work.
    A VM isn't fussy and can use ISOs.
    If you want both native and VM, to have Windows installed on its own hard drive and use it under OS X, then you have to install it and use Boot Camp Assistant.
    I'd say it is all about your DVD media.

  • Create additional installer error code -12 file not found from device driver cd

    I'm trying to build an installer for a project that includes several NI drivers - specifically NI-DMM. NI-SCOPE, NI-SWITCH, NI-845x, and a few others (MAX, DAQ, etc). When I build the software standalone (and only include the run-time engine), it works fine. However, when I try to build the installer with the additional installers (mentioned above), the build prompts me for device driver cds, and then fails. Specifically, it fails on the February 2006 Device Driver cd. The error is attached below.
    I have tried
     - repairing all the installations of the software mentioned
     - using a new project and re-adding the files
     - building the additional installers seperately (no source code installed)
     - copying the driver cds to the harddrive and referencing them there when needed
    The next step will be to reinstall all of those drivers from scratch, but I really would prefer not to. Does anyone have any ideas (or solutions) regarding this problem?

    I have had this happen a lot espescially with LV 8.0 -8.20. What I had to do was take the device drivers CD and copy it to the and run the installation of the software from the copy on the hard disk.
    When you build an exe with additional installers it looks at the last place that  you installed the drivers from. Anyway it worked for me so it might work for you.

  • IPhone not showing up in iTunes- device driver issue?

    I'm having a problem getting iTunes to recognize my iPhone. I'm running XP Pro 64-bit. I know iTunes isn't supposed to work with x64 XP, but I've had it working for months now (by doing a quick edit to the .msi installer it will install on XP). I'm using the newest iTunes 8.1 and the new 3.0 iPhone OS (yes, im on the developer program). When i plug it in windows beeps and gives me the camera wizard, but iTunes does nothing. I've tried updating the driver in device manager and choosing "i will pick the driver to install" and then picking the apple mobile device driver. i clicked "continue anyway" when it told me my face was going to melt off if i use this driver. I went to help in iTunes and ran diagnostics; everything passes on the connectivity tests, but then it tells me "one or more sync tests failed". I had it working 2 days ago with the 3.0 and iTunes 8.1. it just all the sudden stopped working. any help is greatly appreciated. i thank you in advance for your time.

    If you are a registered developer - the iPhone SDK runs on an Intel Mac running OS X Leopard only, then you can visit the Developer Forum for the SDK (which isn't supported with Windows) and for the 3.0 BETA, which is for IPhone and iPod Touch app development, which requires an Intel Mac running Leopard.

  • Old iPod mini can't be recognized after formatting, and iTunes 'Apple Mobile Device Driver not found.'

    My roommate gave me an old iPod Mini a few days ago. It was working fine 'til I plugged it into my computer and it asked me to format it. I did, and now it cannot be recognized by iTunes or my computer. My computer views it as a "removable disk" which cannot be accessed. In devices, it is listed as an Apple iPod though, so I'm hoping not all is lost. I have tried many quick fixes I've read on internet (including changing disk letter) but to no avail. I have reinstalled the new iTunes and now that is telling me it has not installed properly, and when I ran diagnostics, it reads that the Apple Mobile Device Driver not found. I will copy & paste all the info from the diagnostic run below, and if anybody can help me with my new (old) iPod, I'd be everly greatful!

    What i knew about iPhone before buying it:
    What You Need
    To use iPhone, you need:
    A new two-year wireless service plan with AT&T
    A Mac or a PC with a USB 2.0 port and one of the following operating systems:
    Mac OS X version10.4.10 or later
    Windows XP Home or Professional with Service Pack 2 or later
    Windows Vista Home Premium, Business, Enterprise, or Ultimate edition
    iTunes 7.3 or later, available at www.itunes.com
    An iTunes Store account
    An Internet connection
    You must be at least 18 years old to open a new AT&T wireless account. You will need a
    major credit card to open a new iTunes Store account.
    Yeahyeah check all that stuff;
    Oh well; just when i thought i'd finally cross over to the beautiful packaging of APPLE. I remember in design school that form follows function. Thanks.
      Windows Vista

  • VISTA - can;t find device driver for your IPOD - read the solution here!

    It would appear that VISTA is rather stupid when it comes to the Ipod - it can't find the driver for itself. Do the normal autmatic way of trying to find the driver (that doesn't find the device) then look in the hardware device list (control panel) you should see you Ipod listed under other devices with a yellow triangle next to it. Right click this line and select "properties". then click "update device driver". Then, DON'T do the automatic find, instead click "I will choose the device from a list". Click on "storage device" and voila! VISTA now finds a USB mass storage device and installs it - JOB DONE! HOORAY!
    good luck!
    Mark.

    When you are prompted to look for a driver input
    C:\WINDOWS\System32 and browse it will find a generic
    volume that fixes it.
    I tried this as well. I can find a Generic Volume (I think it lists SD, MMC- neither of which seem correct), but neither of those helps. iPod still isn't recognized as a drive even in disc mode. I started another thread after not finding this one. I'm not sure why USB Mass Storage device isn't one of the options.

  • Install Device Driver Software for Palm TX

    My new notebook has Windows Vista and I have had my Palm TX for almost two years.  To install the Palm on my notebook I downloaded the version for Vista from Palm.com.  When I went to synchronize the Palm with the computer during the installation the message kept coming back that "device driver software" could not be found.  Where do I find the driver software?  Is it on the original CD that came with the Palm?  At this point I don't know what to do.  Can someone help me with this problem?
    Post relates to: Palm TX

    mar008,
    When you upgraded to Vista, did you install over the existing XP install on the same PC or get a new computer with Vista?
    If you upgraded over the existing install of XP, you may need to do a "clean" uninstall and re-install Palm desktop. You should be able to use the original CD that you got with the TX on the Vista OS.
    Not sure why you are getting the 680 message. Did you ever have a Treo 680 or a handheld that is a different model than the TX?
    Here are the "clean" uninstall procedure for Vista.
    You should first make a copy of your data to have just in case something
    happens. You can find your data files by going to Start --> Documents -->
    Palm OS Desktop. Highlight your Palm Desktop username and right click and
    copy. Then go to your PC desktop right click on a blank spot and select paste.
    Now you want to uninstall Palm Desktop and remove everything that has to do
    with Palm Desktop from your computer.
    Go to the following locations on the PC and delete the folders listed below.
    C:\Program Files\Palm or Palm One
    C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata\local\virtualstore\Program Files\Palm or
    PalmOne
    C:\Users\[Vista Login Name]\appdata
    *Note you may need to view hidden folders to get to appdata. To do that go
    into your control panel and open folder options. Go to view tab and uncheck
    hide hidden files.
    Once this is done you will need to delete some registry keys from your PC Operating System.
    Word of warning, going here and deleting the wrong thing can cause your PC
    from starting up, crashing and deletion of programs and data. If you feel
    you are unsure of yourself, see if you have a friend that can help you or a
    PC technician that you can pay to help you. This procedure will show them everything they need to delete. To make sure we have a good copy of the current registry, we need to do a backup of the Registry.
    Go to start on the PC, in the search field type "regedit.exe" without quotes.
    Highlight COMPUTER, go to File --> Export. Should pop up with a Save As box.
    Current location is fine, should be in My Documents or save to a location you will remember. In the file name on the bottom type "backup[todaysdate]" i.e. backup07072008. Next, the hard part.
    The easiest way to make sure your working with the correct key, highlight the key i.e. palm quick install, and press delete on your keyboard. It will ask you, are you sure. Say yes. Do the same thing for all keys below.
    If you make a mistake, stop what you are doing. And call a PC technician.
    BUT do not turn off your computer.
    The reg keys are as follows (Note: some of theses reg keys will not be here
    but if they are delete them)
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Palm Quick Install
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\PalmOne File Transfer
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\U.S. Robotics\Pilot Desktop
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Palm, Inc.
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmDesktopAutorun
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\palmOne
    * HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\PalmSource
    * HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\PalmSource or anything else that says palm
    Next reboot your computer.
    Then reinstall your palm desktop from the CD and do a hotsync. If it asks
    you for a username and you synced your device before, put in 'test" if you
    did not sync before create a hotsync name.

  • Device Driver Software for Zire Z22

    I have a Zire Z22 palm unit and am using Windows Vista on a desktop computer. I have loaded the special Palm Desktop Software suggested for Vista. But, when I connect the Palm using the USB cable and hit the hotsync button I get a message that the device driver software must be installed. It tries to search for the needed driver, but doesn't find it, not even on the Palm software disk. Where can I find the device driver software to download so I can hotsync?

    Hi, and welcome to the Palm Community Forums.
    There are more than one kind of Vista...32 bit or 64 bit.  If your Vista machine is 64 bit, you are limited to syncing via IR (infrared) beaming.  Please review the threads "stickied" near the top of the Windows Hotsync board about syncing a Z22 with 64-bit Vista.
    If your Vista desktop is 32 bit, you might need to do a clean uninstall and reinstall.  Stickies have that information as well.
    BTW, I am moving this thread to the Windows Hotsync board.

    I am having the same problem - my computer can't find the device driver (Windows Vista) but I DO have bluetooth installed and visible.  Can you help?!  I am really not very good with technical things, but I've done a tone of research and haven't been able to solve the problem.
    Thanks in advance!
