Acquire analog signal with NI PXI 1042 with RT

HELLO,
Do you have an example of this program ??
I ACQUIRE a analog signal on the enter of the PXI and then i must to write it on the RT computer !!
Thank you for your help!

Hi,
You can find examples in the LabVIEW "NI Example Finder". You can access it in the LabVIEW help menu. Click on "Toolkits & Modules" then "Real-Time" to find RT examples.

  • Image a Windows 2003 Server on a PXI - 1042 with a 8108 controller

    Hi,
I have installed Windows 2003 Server on a PXI - 1042 with a 8108 controller. When I try to take an image of this it fails and I have to remove the hard drive. Then I have to hook it up to a SATA interface and use Ghost 11.5 to image the hard drive.
Is there a easier way to do this with the Acronis software?
    Thanks,
    John P

    Hello John,
When you fail taking an image, are you using Ghost or Acronis?
If it is Acronis you are using, are you using the version that comes on the controller, or are you using the upgraded version, Acronis True Image Home 2009? If you would like to replace the image that is present on the NI PXI controller you will need to use  Acronis® True Image Home 2009 which is available from Acronis.
Note: If you would like to create a locked factory controlled partition on your PXI controller as National Instruments provides, the Acronis® True Image Home 2009 will allow you to do this. This additional functionality would then be supported by Acronis and not National Instruments.
This version should allow you to successfully take an image of Windows 2003.
    Thanks,
    Ryan F.

  • How to acquire analog signal and send a TTL pulse at the same time based on PXI 6123

    Hi,
I am using a PXI-6123 data acquisition card, as the picture show in the attachment ,I want to acquire the analog signal of ai0 through reference analog window and at the same time send a TTL signal to trigger my camera. I have tried two methods, one is using the DAQmx Export signal.vi another is using DAQmx connect terminals, but when the data acquisition card acquire the analog signal, the DAQmx Export signal.vi and the DAQmx connect terminals sometime can send an TTL pulse ,sometime can not.
I don’t know why?  or some other method that can achieve my arm is appreciated.

    Hi,
Have things changed over the years?
I need to syncronise a digital output (Modul NI9474) and an analoge input (AI-Modul NI9203) module. I need to measure time intervals from a flank in signal A to a flank in signal B. I would like accuracies of the order of 1 ms. Currently, the signals are not synchronised, with errors of the order of 2 times the block length (block size x sample rate), sometimes much higher. The best I got so far was a block size of around 20 with a sample rate of 1 kHz.
If I use the master and slave settings on the RTSL settings, my program doesn't run properly.
If I use digital signals for input and output, I can syncronise them with RTSL settings and everything is good, but I can't always do that.
Also, if I do anything in the GUI (such as scrollowing something or going to another window), my output gets screwed up properly.
    1. What can be done to synchronise AI with DO?
    2. Is there something that can be done to avoid messing up the output when something happens in the user interface? (I know that I am messing up the outputs as they make some valves switch and that is loud).
    Thanks in advance!

  • Acquiring analog signal from PC mic

    Hi Guys,
Is it possible to acquire a signal (audio) from a laptop mic and display it in Labview? I know this can be done with a DAQ card but I was curious if I could bypass that and just use the mic in my laptop.
    Thanks.

Here is a higher level example, for LabVIEW FDS:

  • Where can I found hardware to get analog signal from VCR and work with labview and then sample this signal in very high frequency?

I am trying to build a Digital Video Recorder using Labview. The problem is that I found that Labview sample the signal in the order of milisecond. I wanted it to be in the order of microseconds. Also I am looking for a cheap Hardware solution if it is possible

Your question does not make a lot of sense to me, so I will just point out a few things.
    1. The PCI-1411 works well with VCR signals. It has a BNC connector as well as a S-Video connector. The price is under $1000, so it is fairly reasonable. The amount of time you save getting it to work with LabVIEW is worth any extra cost.
    2. The PCI-1411 is sampling three colors at 30 frames per second, with an image resolution of 640x480. This is the best resolution you are likely to get from a VCR signal. The sampling rate for each byte in the image is about 28 MB/sec. This is in the microsecond range that you are looking for, I think. If you are only interested in the raw signal instead of the image, you could look at the high speed digitizing boards NI sell
s that acquire at higher rates.
If this information isn't really what you were looking for, perhaps you could clarify your question.

  • How can i acquire analog signals from PXI 4472 card?

Hit the stars.............. sky is not the limit.

There are a lot of shipping examples for DAQmx. Once you open the example finder (Help>Find Examples), use the 'hardware' listbox at the bottom to find all of the examples that pertain to a 4472.

  • Synchronize Motion velocity with DAQ analog signal

    Hi Everybody
I am acquiring analog signals using hw trigger and external clock with C and A signals of a 1024 counts TTL encoder.
Now I want to measure the rotation speed of a shaft. I have a Flex-Motion board with which I want to read the velocity (or the same encoder), but I don't know how to synchronize each scan of the analog signals with the velocity signal for that instant.
I can´t use RTSI bus because my Motion board doesn´t have RTSI connector.
    Software and hardware:
    LabView 6i (v. 6.0.1.b3)
    DAQ-Board: PCI-6023E, NI-DAQ 6.8.1, MAX 2.0
    Motion board: PCI-FlexMotion-6C, NI-FlexMotion 5.0.1
Thanks a lot for your help.

    Hi chia,
with the hardware configuration that you have, I think it´s not posible to synchronize both boards due to you cannot share the same clock source (not RTSI on the motion board).

  • Communicating with modules in PXI-1042 via MXI-3 interface, all I get is PXI0::MEMACC appearing in MAX. I have OEM modules in the chassis, should these be displayed?

I have a PXI-1042 with PXI-MXI-3 interface kit. In the chassis I have inserted an OEM PXI module. When I run MAX, all I see is PXI System->PXI Bus 0->PXI0::MEMACC. Is this correct? How do I see the other modules?

    Darren,
The only PXI modules that show up under the PXI System option in MAX are those cards that are registered with NI-PAL or NI-VISA. For 3rd party cards, it depends on how their particular driver functions. If the vendor creates their drivers based on NI-VISA, then the device will show up in MAX.
If the vendor created a Windows-specific driver, then there is no way that NI-VISA can find any information on the device, nor can it communicate with it. An example of this is a CompactPCI SCSI or Ethernet card, which is supported by a driver that is native to Windows. NI-VISA does not detect such devices.
It is important that you contact the manufacturer of your 3rd party modules and find out if they are NI-VISA complient devices.

  • I have a CD-ROM with file chassis.sys for my PXI-1042 chassis. What do I do with it?

I have a CD-ROM with file chassis.sys that came with the PXI-1042. How is that file used/installed?

    Hi,
The "chassis.ini" file contains information which is used to generate a "pxisys.ini" file, which describes a unique combination of PXI chassis and controller. If you are using a National Instruments PXI controller, you will not need to use this "chassis.ini" file, because our Measurement and Automation Explorer (MAX) configuration software already contains the necessary information embedded. Instead, you simply need to setup your configuration in MAX.

  • Analog signal from PXI

    Hi everybody,
I have a problem: I cannot acquire 6 analog signals with a PXIe 8135 with 4MS/s. I use two boards with 4 MS/s, 16 bits and 8 Analog Inputs. I use a subVI of SAMPLE CLOCK for configuration with this parameters, Continuous SIGNAL, SAMPLE RATE = 4MS/s ( see attachment ). With one signal is ok, but with 2 signals, i have an overload Memory Message.
Where is the problem in the VI?
    Thanks for your help.

Quickly looking through your code now, try removing the "Number of Samples analog".  Since you are using Continuous Samples, you are just limiting the buffer and also limiting how many samples you can read at a time.
But you might want to think about using Finite Samples.  You know how long you want to log for and you know your sample rate.  So why not just do the simple math and tell DAQmx to get that many samples?  You can use the DAQmx Task Done? VI to see if it is done.  That would be much simpler than checking the time that has elapsed.

  • Analog Signal Acquiring Problem

Hi, I'm using a DAQCARD-AI-16XE-50 for acquiring 6 Analog Signals Channels @1000Hz. At the first time I used the program that labview has as default by following "Labview->Daq solutions->Program the input scaling myself->custom daq solutions->Analog input->Acquire continuosly to spreadsheet". I can use this program on my laptop (Toshiba Satellite 4090CDS @300MHz and 64Mb RAM but not in my desktop Pentium IV @2,6GHZ. Do you have a clue?
    Thanks
    Maria

Hi Ben, I'm a new user of Labview and what I did is to use the default program for acquiring analog signal that Labview has in Labview->Daq solutions->Program the input scaling myself->custom daq solutions->Analog input->Acquire continuosly to spreadsheet.
I have been using this program for over a year and I've acquired lots of data with no problems at all in my laptop and my AMD k6-2 @ 450MHz old desktop and now that I have improved my computer to a better one is not working!
I just want to save some data @1000Hz of sample frequency. Normally I get around 79200x6channels to after analyze it with Matlab.I don't mind saving it after all the proces of acquiring is finished, so if you think that could be the solutions tell me what do I have to ch
ange in the file. But again, I don't know how to use labview, i'm new on this.
I've copied it to an image. Hope this help!
    Thans again,
    Maria

  • Measuring frequencies present in an analog signal

    Hello,
I want to measure the frequencies present in an incoming analog pulse signal.
I tried it as shown in the vi using ‘Extract single tone information.vi’ which was showing the value as ‘39m’ I dont understand what is this value. Can someone explain the right way of measuring the frequencies present in the signal so that I can feed them to my bandpass filter limits.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
The acquired analog signal is pretty much filtered as shown in the attached image.
Now I am collecting data for 5 seconds (collecting 2500 samples using collector.vi ) and finding the single tone frequency from it and plotting the measured frequency after 5secs in a waveform chart.
But I am confused with these1)The original detected signal has an amplitude of above 1.6V but the measured amplitude only shows 0.6V and 2) how the waveform chart has a plot plotted over the duration of 5seconds  when the frequency is measured for every 5seconds data I mean shouldn’t  the chart has a plotted value of HeartRate plotted  for every 5 seconds.
Can someone explain a bit about these.
    Thanks.

  • Triggering an analog signal using USB6008

Hi I'm trying to use the start trigger with DAQmxBase acquiring analog signals with the USB 6008.
When i configure the trigger as Start Digital Edge I become an answer, but only starting at an rising edge.
I want the acquisition to start at a define level, so I've tried with Start Analog Edge, but the acquisition is stopped.
Can someone help me how to configure better than i do?
    Thanks.

    Hi!
It's not possible to configure an analog trigger with an USB 6008 -> only digital trigger is available!
If you want to start on a predefined level then is the only option to do this with an analog-software trigger!
