i want to acquire snapshot directly form my nw04s server, how can i activate this function ?

Hi Didier,
as nw04s runs on jdk1.4.2, the easiest way to acquire a heap dump is on Ctrl-Break. To use this option you need to configure the following Java VM parameter:
-XX:+HeapDumpOnCtrlBreak.
The heap dump will be written to the working directory of the server, e.g. /usr/sap/<SID>/J<instance>/j2ee/cluster/server<node>/

Hi guys,
I will really appreciate it if someone can answer this for me.
I do understand that you can use snapshots to back up file systems. But they also use up pool space when their file systems grow.
So, is it necessary to create zfs snapshots even when you already have a full system back up in place?

Nobody will force you to create or keep snapshots and if you are happy with taking "classic" backups then there may be no need for additional snapshots. And since snapshots will also take up space in your pool, it is usually a good idea to keep them only for a short period and delete them periodically. I like to use snapshots for two purposes:
- create a snapshot, then write that snaptshot to take and destroy it afterwards. that way, you can guarantee that this tape backup is consistent
- create snapshot at regular intervals and keep them around for a few days so that if I need to restore a file from just a day ago I don't have to go back to tapes but can rather fetch it from the snapshot. So that would be in addition to regular backups

AL Acquire Waveform question

I am trying to measure a very small voltage (on the order of .1 mV. For some reason, all of the analog input functions are merely giving me a input of 0.
The test panel shows that the daq doing its job properly, and I see what I am expecting.
Any solutions?
Sould I try to scale the input channel?

I figured it out....thanks anyway..
All I had to do was apply the scaling on the channels, and not after it was acquired.

AWR snapshot question

Hi:
I create a snapshot manually use dbms_workload_repository.create_snaphost at 15:51 , then the 16:00 snapshot by system is not generated.
so have any method can force system execute snapshot on the hour，even I manually snap?

The base class the rule is targetting is "Health Service" (see the "inherited from" column, that lists the class you'll want to override for provided you want to do an override for all the objects the rule is targetting, which is what it
sounds like you want). When you choose "override the rule" for that one it should say "for all objects of class: Health Servcie". Overriding that will override for everything the rule is targetting. You should be able to follow this logic for the rest
of them as well.

IPhoto and iTunes gone!

My iTunes and iPhoto icons on the dock suddenly acquired transparent question marks and will not open. They have also disappeared from the applications list. What has happened?

On both our log-ins, iTunes and iPhoto are now only in the applications folder and not the bar - inconvenient but better than denial of service! Now how to get them back to the dock for both of us....?

Locate each app in the Applications folder and drag it back to the Dock and it it will be restored to the Dock.
Southern and Northern California are worlds apart, both very nice but personally I'm a N. Californian and prefer it up here.

Updated bootcamp drivers - lost 10 GB space?

Running a 2011 MBP, and I went through the agony of installing W7 on my extra internal HDD without the superdrive (shout out to apple, thanks a lot). Those familiar know the frustration. Anyway, I updated my bootcamp drivers (5.1.+), and noticed an approximate 10 GB decrease in drive space. Is there a way to clean up old drivers? I've checked everywhere I know, and I can't find any old residual files to remove nor does any sort of windows cleanup help (or shadow copies of system restores either). Or is the 5.1 update that bulky? Thanks in advance!

been set up by using BootCamp or some other utility? If you choose
to look into the Mac HD and see the named partitions already on it,
(some will appear as additional separate hard drives) a few will be
curious but essential with OS X Recovery, among other, set apart and
in their own named hard drive partition.

There are some utilities that could help find out what is using the 10GB
missing from the hard disk drive. A few are in the OS X itself, others are
out there which may or may not be worth their trouble; esp if acquired
from questionable sources, due to threat of adware or malware content.
I'd wonder if you didn't have a second bootcamp partition, or other space
occupied by other software, given the Windows and VMware use in it.
If you have a suitable complete backup on external sources, you could try
a fully new installation, and then for OS X content migrate from backup.
That may be a bit extreme. Before you try to be rid of unknown partitions
be sure they are not part of the main OS X installation, as that could be
helpful to have later on should you need to reinstall original OS X or use
the recovery section specific to that computer. If not already erased.
Is the issue with space in the main HDD or in the external where you put W7?

Snapshot Tool - Printing Questions

I am looking for help using the snapshot tool and printing from a large size page. Specifically, I get .pdf drawings that are 24X36" (or larger) and since I don't have a large printer at home, like poster or blue print size, I am using the snapshot tool to span a couple of pages on to 8.5 X 11. After selecting and printing, I tape the printed pages together. I am able to select the area I want to print, from the Print pop up window, I use Print Range and select the radio button for Selected Graphic, the problem is, every time I use the snap shot select tool, the selected area is never the same % size, therefore when I try to tape the two sides together, the lines don't line up well because each select of say the left and then the right side of the page are at a different % selection. Does anyone have a solution, work around or know of a setting that will lock the selection to accomplish this?

Thank you for the reply, unfortunately, I don't see this as an option, is there a preferences setting in Adobe or in a printer setup that would have to be enabled to get this selection? In the Page Handling, Page Scaling section, my only choices are, None, Fit to Printable Area and Shrink to Printable Area. Am I looking in the correct settings? Also note, I did download the latest Acrobat Reader this morning Ver 9.

Acquired PB; now have many questions

I have a great PB 40GB 800 mhz model from Ebay but the owner left all his documents, files, etc. He said he had everything that he needed from it. My questions are:
This laptop has 10.3.9; I have install disks for Tiger. Will the installation of Tiger just wipe out all his files, etc. without me having to take extra steps?
How, if possible, can I keep the Filemaker Pro, Photoshop and Illustrator that he left?
Can I keep some of the music in his iTunes by just copying onto external USB drive?
When trying to "Get Info" about the specs the button doesn't activate. Does this happen because the battery is so low and needs replaced? (I got a warning that the PB is operating on backup battery. I've already tested that the backup battery is good; the clock settings remained current)
It's pretty dirty/dusty; Is there a cleaning process that's recommended for the display, case and inside the keyboard?
If I'm moving with a friend that has wired PC setup, and DSL connection how do I go wireless on the Internet?
Also, he wants to switch to a VOIP phone setup like I have. Will a modem accommodate all that?

Yes, if you choose Erase and Install, it will erase everything currently on the HD and install Tiger.

That would not be legal if he did not include the original discs.

First step in the process is being careful, especially inside the PB. Outside, you can use a very slightly dampened soft cotton type cloth and simply wipe it down. I prefer distilled water so it doesn't leave residue. Inside the keyboard, if you must, try a Q-tip.

A question about "AI acquire waveform.vi ".

I use my DAQcard(PCI-6024E) to acquire two AI signal at the same time through AI acquire waveform.vi.
But it is getting into a serious delay on my executing progarm by monitoring my time depended plot or time-counter(It is about 5 seconds in the real world vs. 1 second the program runs.).
however,I didn't encounter that problem when altering another AI vi(AI sample channel.vi),but it couldn't conform to my needs.
My AI acquisition program structure is "AI acquire waveform+equi-Ripple lowpass+mean" and another is "AI acquire waveform+mean".All settings are default except the high and low limit.So,does anyone solve my troubles?I really need help!!

Hello;
The best way to go about that is to use the Labview shipping example named Continuous Acquisition and Chart (buffered).vi that you can find at Search Examples->I/O Interfaces->Data Acquisition->Analog Input->Continuous Analog Input; as the start point for your development.
That vi shows the best way to do a data acquisition. You can insert you average VI inside the while loop of that VI.

Week end is a difficult time when you need a quick help.
You should not have post a second message to catch somebody attention : some people just scan the forum to search for unanswered questions...and you gave an answer to your own question, changing its status.
First thing to do : use MAX to see if you can read the proper signal.
Second : use the attached vi to see if you can read the signal in LV.
Things should process smoothly after that.

Newbie snapshot file saving question

I want to have Mullesight take a snapshot and place a JPG inside my "snapshots" folder on my desktop. The problem is that it keeps saving the same same file name and won't allow me to take more than one picture. I wish to have successive pictures named differently, such as picture1.jpg, picture2.jpg, etc., in my snapshots folder.
I copied a sample script from Mullesight's author to take a snaphot and save a JPEG file. How can I modify it so that I can do what I want?
