Acquiring Classic for 10.4.8

I bought a new macbook pro a few days ago, and I have some games that I want to play on it that require classic. I have an older g3(originally 10.2.8, now 10.4) with classic on it. I read on another topic that you can simply transfer the classic system folder and it will work, but this was to no avail. I have all the install disks and restore disks from the original ibook. Is it humanly possible to get classic on my new macbook pro?

May I welcome you to the Apple Discussion Forum.
I am afraid I must tell you that your Mac Book Pro is not capable of running OS 9 in the "Classic" mode. Rosetta does not support OS 9. Nor is it capable of booting OS 9 directly.
There is an emulator called SheepShaver ( I am not making that name up) that can run some OS 9 programs but game are the least likely to work.
So for what you are asking I am afraid the answer is no.

If an iPod is set to update automatically it will be associated with a particular library. If you connect that iPod to a different computer or a different library on the same computer you get the the message you are referring to. "The iPod "iPod Name"is linked to another another iTunes music library. Do you want to change the link to this iTunes music library and replace all existing songs and playlists on this iPod with those from this library". To use an iPod on multiple computers you change the update method to "manually manage songs and playlists". You can also use multiple iPods on a single computer so you will be able to connect both of your iPods to your existing iTunes. Connect the new iPod and follow the on screen instructions, iTunes will open and update your iPod.

The iPod offers three ways to transfer music from your computer. You can select one of the following update modes from the iPod Preferences menu in iTunes (Edit=>Preferences=>'iPod' tab):
1) Automatically update all songs and playlists. This is the default mode, in which your entire music library, including playlists, is automatically synced to your iPod. If the music library on your computer exceeds the iPod storage capacity, you are prompted to select a different update method.
2) Automatically update selected playlists only. With this option, iTunes automatically copies the playlists you have selected to the iPod when you connect it to the computer.
3) Manually manage songs and playlists. You can also choose to transfer music to the iPod manually. This allows you to drag and drop individual songs and playlists from iTunes to the iPod.

Acquire sound for more than 7 seconds

I want to acquire a sound with labview 8.0. I use Acquire Sound in the Graphic & Sound palette. When I acquire for 10 seconds or less alll works but when I try to acquire sounds for 10 seconds or more my output wav file is only 7 seconds. Sorry for my English but I'm Italian. I attach my vi...if someone can help me...Thanks!!!

Hi,
I tried to perfom a finite sound acquisiton (with 'Duration' fixed) but I verified your same problem. I think that this is an unexpected behaviour of the new express VI 'Acquire Sound.vi'. Instead of a finite acquisition why don't you try to do a continous sound acquisition? Take a look to the example 'Continuous Sound Input.vi' present in the Example finder library.

Using WLS 10.0 mp2 and jrockit, there looks to be intermittent delays in the webservice, of about 3.5 seconds delay, when WLS is trying to acquire locks for com.sun.xml.ws.handler.ServerSOAPHandler in com.sun.xml.ws.handler.HandlerPipe.process(). This is showing up in JRA recording, and is happening about 15-20% of the calls.
Does anyone encounter similar issue?
Also, WLS 10.0.2 comes with JAX-WS 2.0.1. Is there any issue upgrading to 2.2?

Adobe Type Manger was discontinued a number of years ago. Although ATM Lite is still available as a download on Adobe's website, it supports only 32-bit versions of Windows through Windows XP. It explicitly does not support Windows Vista or Windows 7, either 32-bit or 64-bit. There are no plans for any new releases of this product. Options are to use third party font management tools although for many of us, such products are more of a pain to administer than they are worth. They also tend to need to be upgraded every time a new version of the Creative Suite and/or Windows is released.

You can definetly acquire from several channels. For your convenience, I have appended below the content from help that tells you how to configure it:
"channels specifies the set of analog input channels. The order of the channels in the scan list defines the order in which the channels are scanned during an acquisition. channels is an array of strings. You can use one channel entry per element or specify the entire scan list in a single element, or use any combination of these two methods. If x, y, and z refer to channels, you can specify a list of channels in a single element by separating the individual channels by commas, for example, x,y,z. If x refers to the first channel in a consecutive channel range and y refers to the last channel, yo
u can specify the range by separating the first and last channels by a colon, for example, x:y."

I have an iPod Touch and I recently got an iPod classic (120GB). I want to use the iPod classic for music and the iPod Touch for games and stuff, will the classic mess up my iTunes/ iPod Touch if I restore it to iTunes/ my computer? What do I do? Thanks!

But you'll have to use your Apple ID to sync bought media to her device. Disable all other things you don't want to sync like photos, contacts, etc.

I got an ipod classic for Christmas and it stopped playing correctly in Feb. I went to the apple store in belfast which is 45min for them to tell me that there was no one there to help on that day and to make an appointment, but a, reluctant to go back!

My son has an ipod touch. I was thinking of getting an mp3 player too but thought I'd try to get something less expensive. I don't want to use iTunes. But because we'll need a dock, it looks like I'll have to get an ipod. Son recommends the Classic as I won't need all the touch features. But - none of my music is from itunes - it's all from CDs and downloads. Will the classic play them and can I just drag and drop my music into it without having to bother with itunes?
Are there any drawbacks/format issues with the classic that I should be aware of?

Yes, ya need to add them to the iTunes at first and then sync it with you iPod Classic actually. There is one more thing I probably need to tell you that you may need to get some sorta video converter to get videos playable on this device, as it doesn't support many video formats. But don't worry, there are plenty of them on the market and majority of them are of expectional quality.

You will get the same model if BB still carries it. If that model is no longer avaliable, you'll get a comparable model, meaning another Classic. Your store may be willing to give you a store credit for the comparable model which you can use to purchase a touch. However, the store is not required to do this.

It's your normal admin password for your user account. When you created your original user account you established your username and password. It's that password. You can change/reset the password if you have forgotten it. See Mac OS X- Changing or resetting an account password.
For additional help select Mac Help from the Finder's Help menu and search for "password."
