ACR 4.1 Installation stalls

MacBook Pro OS 10.4.9
Photoshop CS3 update downloads the new ACR 4.1
I initiate the install process but it always get hung-up about 3/4 the way through the install. I've let the installer run for 30+ minutes.
Any suggestions of how to get the installer to complete this task?

Photoshop CS3 update downloads the new ACR 4.1
I initiate the install process but it always get hung-up about
3/4 the way through the install.
I also observed this. I usually update ACR manually, but this time I ran the Adobe updater and it offered the ACR 4.1 update along with another update I wanted to install.
What I think is happening is that the updater in installing the update(s) gets to the point where it needs to replace the Camera Raw.8bi file and it cannot do this while the Photoshop app is active. As I recall, the error message is not really clear -- just a generic problem encountered with something like a retry(?) or cancel option. If you close Photoshop then select the retry the installer will complete and update the Camera Raw 8b1. (At least this worked for me.)
It would be helpful to have a more informative message here, such as: Exit Photoshop and click Retry to complete the update.

    Hi cadrian,
Are you on a managed network. If yes then kindly make sure that the following host/port combinations may need to be white-listed when logging in with an Adobe ID to download, install, and activate licensing for applications via a Creative Cloud membership.

  • JWSDP 1.6 Installations stalls for hours

    Hi,
As a newbie to web services, I wanted to try out web services. And so, I downloaded the Java Application Server ver 8.1 and JWSDP 1.6. Installation for the Application Server was smooth. However, this was not so for the JWSDP 1.6. After waiting for hours and hours (installation stalled at 98% stating 'Please wait while the technologies are integrated into the Web Container. This may take 5 minutes or more'), nothing happened. Why is this so? Is there anything else that must be installed before installing the JWSDP? So far I had been waiting for 7 hours and still nothing. So much for 5 minutes! Thanks in advance!

Hi I have seen the same behavior, did you ever find a work around?
    Thanks in advance,
    Ernie

Maryrhire910 I am sorry that you are facing difficulty downloading and installing Photoshop Elements 12.  Are you downloading the installation files from Download Photoshop Elements products | 13, 12, 11, 10?  If so what specific error are you receiving?

  • ITunes 7 Installation Stalls when "Registering Modules"

This issue has been brought to attention in at least three other threads.

One board member has already suggested installing Itunes 7 on another computer and importing the installed files directly onto the 'problematic system.'
Unfortunantly, this doesn't work fo all. Therefore I am hoping that this thread becomes a 'ground central' for this problem. Has anyone tried anything else that works? Does anyone at Apple have any idea as to why the installation stalls at this point?
    Thanks,

gailj's posted a suggestion for dealing with the registering modules hang. may be worth checking:

  • Dreamweaver CS6 installation stalls at AdobeHelp

I am having Dreamweaver CS6 installation issues:
Tried installing via Creative Cloud 5 times--and installation kept stalling.
Tried Trial version 3 times--and installation stalls at AdobeHelp -- 24%. the "minutes remaining" keeps going up from 9 minutes to 43 minutes and beyond.
Have tried closing & re-opening Adobe Application Manager, re-downloading, using Creative Suite Cleaner Tool, rebooting, etc. & same issue keeps happening.
    Any advice?
On a PC with Vista 32 Home Premium

    SOLVED.
I discovered that in Program Files/Adobe there was an old Adobe Help folder from a previous Trial install, never activated. All the folder contents had a 2011 date--so that must have have stalled the new installation.

  • Wine/Winetools: IE6SP1 installation stalls

I searched but did not find an answer, but if this has been answered anyway, I apologize for this unnecessary post.
I'm trying to set up Wine version 20050628-1 from Arch's repositories using Winetools. When I get to IE6SP1, the installation stalls at about 44%. Wine doesn't freeze. I can press cancel button on the installation window, and it exits. The installation just doesn't proceed from 44-47%.
Winetools notifies that it hasn't been tested with that version. Does this happen because of the version incompatibilities, or because of something else? What am I doing wrong?

this has been reported in other forums (for other distro)
You might want to check this link
    http://sidenet.ddo.jp/winetips/config.html
the web master also provides a tool allowing ppl to install IE with wine, and from what I heard, it works fine with wine0725

Mac Flash Player Installer stalls at 25% or 30% followed by Connection Lost Start Over, which I do with same result.

This morning we resolved a problem that prevented Flash Player installations from completing for some of our Macintosh users.
If you encountered this problem, please delete any previously downloaded Flash Player installer and either:
1.)      Download the installer again from https://get.adobe.com/flashplayer
    2.)      Download the stand-alone installer from  http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/latest/help/install_flash_player_osx.dmg

  • Creative Cloud Desktop application installer stalls at downloading

Hi When I download and run CC installer (CreativeCloudSetup.exe) on Win8 It stalls at about 8% and will not download the files needed.
To clarify I can download the CreativeCloudSetup.exe just fine, but when I run it it stalls when trying to download files.    Here is what it says after sitting at about 8% for a minute or 2.
I have tried to restart and re-download the file, as well as the suggestions as noted below:
I will download the new CC installer from the llink below.
    https://creative.adobe.com/products/creative-cloud
    If the first install attempt fails I'll rename the Adobe OOBE folder (out-of-box experience) to OOBE.old, then will try the install again. {Adobe OOBE folder locations for my system are below. Likely yours are the same.}
    C:\Users\[User Name]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\Adobe\OOBE
    They didnt work.

  • Trying to Install Audtion 3.0 - Installer stalls

What software are you trying to install?
Adobe Audtion 3.0 (From the Download Link Tech Support Gave me for no longer supported products)
Which operating system are you using?
    Windows 7 Pro 64 Bit
Was the software previously installed prior to downloading the non-activating version currently available?
Yes, Audition 2.0 was previously installed, I did a full uninstall "advanced"
What specific error messages are you receiving when trying to install?
There is no error message. The installer just stalls.
I get the message, "Do you want to allow the following program to make changes to your computer?"
I choose yes and it just stops.

    Hi Mylenium,
I tried running the installer in compatibility mode and still had the same issue. (Tried service pack 2 & 3 as well)
    No change.
    Any other suggestions?

  • ITunes installation stalls and won't finish

When trying to install the latest iTunes it stalls about 4 bars from the end, and I can't say what it is stalling on because the Status of the install is blank.
I have done everything to delete all of iTunes/Quicktime/Bonjour/etc and the program and Windows files and then tried again, but no luck, the installation continues to hang.
I need to get this fixed because I am getting an iPhone next week and need to be able to access iTunes, so any help is much appreciated.

The exact thing happened me last night. I was updating my iTunes software with a download from the Apple site. I tried three times and it stopped at the same place each time.
Could this have something to do with virus detection or spyware detection software? Would turning one or both off help?
    Thanks.

  • Lightroom 5 installation stalls

I have Lightroom 4 and PS CS6, and I just purchased CC for photographers. The first thing I tried to do was install LR 5 from the CC app. It got as far as 47%, then stalled. After 90 minutes, I cancelled the installation, rebooted my computer, and tried again. Same result -- it is now stalled at 47% and has been that way for over 2 hours. I have over 200GB of open disk space, so I don't think that's the problem. I'd appreciate any suggestion as to what to do next.  Thanks.
    Kelly

KellyMC I would recommend reviewing the installation logs for the Lightroom 5 installation.  You can find information on how to locate and interpret the installation log files at Troubleshoot install issues with log files | CC - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/troubleshoot-install-logs-cc.html.  You are welcome to post any specific errors you discover to this discussion.
