ACR 5.2 cam profiles different for nef and cr2

My profiles for D300 nef include the D2X ones and Vivid. When I loaded a raw from my Canon 1ds mkii there was no D2X or Vivid profiles just the other ones. Is this the way it should be?

What you are seeing is normal behavior. You only see the profiles for the specific camera that took the picture. You would not expect to see Nikon profiles listed or a Canon camera. In that same light, different models of Canon cameras might have different profile names as well.

  • No camera profile showing for Sony RX10 in LR 5.4

I cannot find the Sony RX10 in my camera profile list for lens corrections. I can see the Sony RX1 and Sony RX1r but absolutley nothing for the Sony RX10 which I have imported RAW files from.

The built-in profiles are in the Camera Raw engine, that exists in both LR and the ACR plug-in for Photoshop.
Unfortunately, only the latest PS ACR 8.4 plug-in has information about what profiles are built-in.  I guess the LR folks were too busy getting LR Mobile to work to add similar notifications to LR 5.4, but the built-in profiles are there even if you aren't told about it.
Adobe started adding built-in profile support a while back and it has lead to confusion when some older model cameras have selectable external profiles while newer model cameras don't.  Typically, cameras that apply profiles to their camera jpgs inside the camera will have built-in profiles from Adobe to mimic this behavior.
Lest there be any doubt that profiles are automatically being applied, here is the picture, above, opened in a raw converter that doesn't have lens profiles, and you can see the curved vertical edges at the left and right--pincushion distortion:
And here is that same sample image in LR 5.4 without any lens profile chosen and the verticals are straight:
You don't say what lens you have on the RX10, but for this sample image, the lens is a 24-200mm and I don't even see an external profile for a lens with those characteristics.

  • ACR 5.3 RC - ACR 4.4 Camera Profile Appears Twice

Just installed the 5.3 DNG converter and Camera Raw RC/beta onto a WinXP SP3 system.
The ACR 4.4 profile appears twice in the ACR 5.3 Camera Profile drop down box for a Canon 30D DNG file.
    Anyone else?

SCraig, this is likely because the original "ACR 4.4" profile got embedded into the DNG when you created it originally. So now you are seeing two copies of ACR 4.4 in the menu: the one that is embedded in the DNG, and the one that comes with Camera Raw. They should be the same functionally, however -- i.e., if you flip between them there should be no change in rendering. Let me know if that's not the case.

  • Camera-raw plugin for NEF files, made with the new Nikon D7200

Hi, does anyone know when there will be a camera-raw plugin for NEF files made with the new Nikon D7200?

I think that camera is too new. Even the DNG converter will not support it. If you have Nikon software with the camera, you could convert to tiff and then use the tiff files in Elements whilst awaiting the next Camera Raw update for PSE13.

I bought  my MacBook Pro in 2010. This is the first Mac I have owned and recently it is having some difficulty loading we pages, often timing out. This Mac environment is entirely different for me and I am not sure where to begin troubleshooting and/ or clean-up. I am not even sure how to remove these programs to see if it helps.

  • ACR 5.2 camera profiles and Nikon D700 color artifacts

Using LR 2.2 or Photoshop CS4, conversions of D700 NEFs often result in peculiar color 'artifacts' (posterization?) in certain images, when using the new camera specific profiles like Camera Standard (or particularly Camera Landscape). Typically, the Adobe Standard or ACR 5.2 profile don't exhibit this behavior, at least not with significant changes to saturation and contrast.
An example of this can be seen at http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3400/3179948383_cfda478eb8.jpg (LR 2.2, Camera Standard profile). Question is whether these sorts of results are expected? I'm otherwise quite happy with the new profiles. Thanks,
    Mike

    Mike,
    1. You may be happy if the problem goes away with the lossless compression, but it would be a nice service to the D3/D700 owners' community to
    b prove
this. There are many photogs convinced, that the lossy compression does not cause visible loss (Nikon created a myth about this issue already with the D70).
If you can create pairs of shots demonstrating the effect and would not mind my using your images, I would spread this on other forums as well, as I did with the D300.
    2. Re WB:
    i normally
you can accept the WB interpretations of different raw processors, but not if the issue is just the WB. The fact, that the displayed color temperatures are close, does not mean much: the color temperature is not absolute. I don't go so far as to say, that it
    i should
be different between CNX and ACR, but you can not rely on the number.
Even the snow is clearly reddish in the ACR created JPEG. You may complain about ACR's WB conversion, but that is a separate issue. In order to compare the colors, first the greys have to be made grey in both conversions.

  • Changing camera profiles in LR 2 and ACR 4.6

How does one change the camera choices in the Camera Profile panel in LR 2 and ACR 4.6? The only camera specific model that shows up for me is the Nikon D2X, and I shoot a Nikon D200.

I'm not interested in profiles that don't match my camera, but I was interested in using the D200 profile since that's what I shoot with. I've never heard anywhere that the D200 and D2X render identical files. so, when I talked about choice, I merely meant that I'd like to have the choice of using the profile for my particular camera. When Adobe lists the supported camera models, they do not say that one camera profile fits several different models that have entirely different sensors. I know for a fact that the D200 and D40 do not render identical files, yet both are restricted to using the D2x file, all of which seems a bit strange to me.
I don't expect an exact match, as I know that Adobe cannot simply copy Nikon's algorithms. Since these Adobe profiles are an approximation because of that, I would think that a profile closer to my model would be available. I know that all thw Adobe software gets from the camera is the white balance, and everything else in the Adobe profiles is generated bt Adobe to try to match the Nikon profiles as close as possible without a direct copy.
There is a major difference in how the various cameras render images, just open them in any of the various incarnations of Nikon Capture, and you'll see exactly how the camera renders an image. In conclusion, it does not look like Adobe supports the D200, and in spite of their claims to the contrary, what we get is a generic profile that is supposed to fit models with entirely different sensors.
Why even list the D200 if indeed they do not allow me to use a profile that more closely resembles the one from that model?

  • Lightroom 3.6 / ACR 6.6 Camera Profiles Missing

    Greetings.
I've read through so many threads about this, and still can't make camera profiles show up in either LR 3.6 or ACR 6.6.
I'm shooting RAW with a Nikon D7000.  The only camera profiles available are Adobe Standard, Camera Standard, Neutral, etc.  LR/AC recognizes the RAW file was produced by the D7000, or at least that's what shows up as Make & Model in the MetaData.
    I've checked the path
    C:\ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera\NikonD7000
and the 5 DCP files are present.
I've confirmed LR/ACR is reading from this path by exiting the software, and temporarily changing
    ...\CameraProfiles\...
    to
    ..\FUBARCameraProfiles\...
and when I then launch LR/ACR, I get a message that camera profiles are missing.
I'm using Win 7 Ultimate 64-bit, logged in as the administrator to eliminate any security issue, and I installed LR/ACR as the admin as well.
Lens profiles work fine.  On all my RAW file, the lens is correctly identified, and I can choose it from the dropdown for lens correction.
If anybody has any ideas on what else to try, I'd be grateful.
    Happy New Year, all!

The camera profiles that you see in Lightroom don't specify which model they are for. They are automatically chosen for the camera that took the raw image. If you see Camera Standard, that is the Camera Standard for your D7000. When I see that one, it's for my D300.
    Here's what I see for a Canon S90:
    Here's what I get for a Nikon D300:
The v4's probably aren't there for you, but you shold see the rest of them.

  • CS3 & ACR 4.6 - camera profiles questions

    Happy New Year to All
I am using CS3 with ACR 4.6. I installed the beta 2 camera profiles.
Is there any way to get the newer profiles without having to upgrade to CS4 and ACR 5?
I only see nikon d2x in the list. Are there other camera profiles available?
    Thanks,

    Paul,
Also note that there is a forum a couple of doors down dedicated to ACR and DNG issues. See: http://www.adobeforums.com/webx?13@@.3bc03c04

  • Created custom camera profile in DNG editor and can't find it in LR

I have created custom camera profiles and can't find them in Lightroom 3. Can someone help? I'm a Mac user.
    David

I figured it out. I saved the profile, but I did not export it.
    Thanks for the help everyone.
I was primarily interested in doing a custom tone curve to match my Mark IV to my 5D. The results were really bad, so I re did the profiles to simply get close colors, and I used the Point Tone Curve to match the two cameras. I've always liked the tone curve from the 5D, and I've always hated the one on the Mark IV.
    Problem Solved.
    Thanks again.

  • Amount posted different for Invoice and Credit memo

    Hi Experts,
The user has reversed only one line item of an invoice entry (RE), which was processed back in 2009. The invoice entry was processed with two Gl Accounts( Transit Comm.match and Com.Inv.GIT d.d) with amount allocated as 576.35 (5399.2 and -4822.85)with an input tax of 22%.But in the reversal entry the amount allocated to these account are different(-5851.62 and 5275.27), thought the total match to -576.35. Interesting thing is this entry was posted in a foreign currency (EUR) wherein the Local Currency values which is in PLN is same for both invoice and reversal entries. Exchange rate for both the entries are  4.20430.
Please let me know your thoughts..

    Hi Ravi,
Here by reversal I meant the credit memo processed against invoice.

  • RPT_MOPZ_COPY_STACK_XML shows SC version differs for JAVA and DUAL-Stack xml files

    Hi All,
I am using the report/program RPT_MOPZ_COPY_STACK_XML to copy the stack xml file I used from a previous upgraded system. Systems are identical. However, report shows below..
"Software Component Version KRNL64UC7.20 [01200615320200013056] differs between <System1> and <System2>"
    and
Software Component Version SAPJVM6.1 [01200615320200012982] differs between <System1> and <System2>"
However, this is not the case when checked, it's strange that this particular component has the same version between the two systems, but the report says they differs in version.
Please help check how to resolve the issue.
SAP notes mentioned in below KBA were already obsolete. Solution Manager system just upgraded to 7.1 SP11.
    1711612 - RPT_MOPZ_COPY_STACK_XML Report Troubleshooting.
We would appreciate your response for us to resolve this issue. Thanks.
    Regards,
    Philip

    Hi Jansi, Divyanshu,
Both system have the same patch levels.
Here the situation, SYS1 is where we generated the stack xml file. Afterwards, used that stack file to upgrade SYS1.
Now we built SYS2, ensuring it has the same components version with the un-upgraded version of SYS1, so yes they have same patch number for same components, for this issue, kernel and jvm.
Thus, instead of running MOPZ for SYS2, we used RPT_MOPZ_COPY_STACK_XML to convert the stack file of SYS1 to be used for SYS2.
This is where we encountered below messages, when performing the copy.
"Software Component Version KRNL64UC7.20 [01200615320200013056] differs between <System1> and <System2>"
    and
Software Component Version SAPJVM6.1 [01200615320200012982] differs between <System1> and <System2>"
We previously used SOLMAN 7.0 SP23, and the report is working fine there. Then recently, solman was upgraded to 7.1 SP11, and now the report is not working with the above issue.
We would appreciate if you could share actions on how we can fix the issue.
    Regards,
    Philip

  • DNS different for internet and both iTunes

Trying to troubleshoot internet connectivity problems with Chrome, Firefox and Safari.
    1. Is DNS for Internet the same for iTunes and App Store?
    2. What would cause all 3 browsers to not find any website (google, yahoo)

In the server zone files, the dedicated IP address should point to the machine name, as in name.someserver.com. The local IP address should point to name.local. If you have more than one domain name, the zone files should show their network IP address, not the dedicated IP address, which should only point to the machine name.
As a side note, I strongly advise against connecting a server directly to the Internet. It should be behind a router with DMZ/NAT/firewall capabilities. By the time you realize why, it will be too late.
