Acr 6.2 slow zoom

Hi
i run photoshop cs5 and acr 6.2 under w7 32bit
i found that the zoom tool is slow and sluggish
is a issue of my system ?
i mean i have to wait one second or more to zoom
thanks

The more "fancy" functions (such as noise reduction, lens corrections, etc.) that you have enabled, the slower ACR's operation will be.  Do you have a lot of these features enabled?
The 32 bit version of ACR is also single-threaded, while the 64 bit version is multi-threaded.  On a multi-core machine (many are these days) this can make a big practical difference in the responsiveness of the plug-in.

  • Slow Zoom In/Out in XY Graph

I am experiencing very slow zoom in/zoom out in XY Graph.  Each action takes roughly 5 seconds.  Is this normal?
The anti-aliased is not On.  I am not using dash lines.
Can someone shed some light here?

As an approxmation use the number of points plotted equal to the number of pixels in the width of the plot area (for a line plot). If you feed the graph more points than it has pixels to display them, the code internal to the graph has to manipulate that data to determine where to place each pixel. When you drop a new XY graph on the front panel it has 250x250 pixels. When I stretched one to fill my screen I had 1580x862. So X-axis arrays larger than a few hundred to about two thousand elements will result in some data manipulation by the graph.

  • ACR running EXTEMELY slow

    Hi gurus.
Our equipment ACR is runnning slower and slower and yesterday we could not complete it even (had to terminate it after 20000 secs)! We are at a loss of why it is supposed to happen and asking for your kind help.
    FYI, we are using BI7.
    Thanks very much.

There could be N no. of reason for this.
    1. Check the no. of records which has to be aligned. Depending on the no. of changes, ACR will take time.
This you can find in SE38 -->SDDS_CHANGERUN_MONITOR
It will give you no. of records and also in which all aggregates, the changes has to take place.
    2. Check the job in SM51(on server, with PID). See what all sql statement it is executing and how much time its taking. Generally, one ACR will have 3-4 child process. While Child processes will execute, the ACR job will be in wait condition.
Please see that it dont remain in the wait condition forever.
    3. Sometimes, one aggregated will lock one characteristics, because of that the deadlock will occure. To check for the aggregates, execute step 1.
    4. to see the deadlock, use t-code DB6COCKPIT or ST04. If there is any deadlock, cancel the ACR job and relrease the lock, SM12.
These are the preventive measure, you should always be ssing all thse tilllA CR is running.
In last, see if you have enough BG job process to run ACR.
    Thanks...

  • Slow zoom failure in Spaces

Ok, this one is hard to describe, but I'll try. I switch spaces a lot, using the center button of my mouse. This is invaluable when working in Eclipse and having multiple Safari windows open (I just can't seem to remember the details of all those Java libraries!).
From time to time, when switching spaces, I will select the new space. Instead of the new space zooming to the foreground quickly, the selected space will zoom very slowly (I'm running a quad core Mac pro with 5GB so no, it's not the machine). Once it completes this slow zoom, the space will suddenly disappear in favor of a space I didn't select. It's really irritating when you are in a hurry to figure something out or are trying to keep your concentration on a piece of half-written code.
Has anyone else seen this behavior? Does anyone have an explanation or theory as to what might be happening to Spaces? The error doesn't seem to be harmful in any way. But it does represent about the only 'irritating' post 10.5.2 bug I know of on the Mac Pro.
    Thanks,

Has anyone read this post? Or is it such a stupid question, there's no use in replying to it?

  • Camera raw 7 slow zoom in/out ,but fast process 2003 or 2010

    Hi
i did notice that zoom in or out in camera raw is slow , even in middle pc , i'm not talking about hi end pc
but i did find it's amazing fast if use process 2003 or 2010
may i use like default the 2003 or 2010 ?
    how can i do it?
    thanks
    cheers

    mantralightroom wrote:
but do you why 2010 is so slow compared to 2010 o 2003 ?
Just a suspicion:  Adobe is adding more and more compute-intensive functionality in the newer versions - for example image analysis that affects the way the PV2012 controls work - in anticipation of more and more powerful computers.  It's the normal way of things.
PV2012 seems to take about twice as long for me to complete a conversion than its predecessor.  But on my reasonably powerful computer that's the difference between 2 and 4 seconds - no problem, really.
I'm not sensing any difference in zoom speed.
everytime i load a canon raw file , it 's always to 2012!
    what 's wrong?
I don't know.  Photoshop CS5 comes up with PV2010 for me for images I haven't opened before, because that's what I saved my Camera Raw Defaults as.   I don't use the camera serial number/ISO specificity settings though.
Are you thinking of updating to Photoshop CS6?  I mention this because the released version is available today.

  • Slow Zoom

I create documents that include a hyperlink to a large map that fits width, about 18 degrees.  The map has a button that hyperlinks to a particular parcel (Destination) at a zoom level of 150.  I would like to SLOW down this operation so when the button is clicked, it will slowly zoom to 150 degrees.  Any suggestions?
    gotoNamedDest("Parcel");
    thiszoom=150;

First of all, a Named Destination is an exact specification of what should be viewed, so it doesn't make sense to go to one and then change the zoom level. You should include that information in the Named Destination itself... But to answer your question, the only way I can see this being possible is by executing a set of delayed commands to change the zoom setting incrementally. Honestly, I wouldn't bother with such a thing. It's much more trouble than its worth.

  • Problem to do sweet/slow zoom-in and zoom out on picture

    Hi,
I'm now doing a costum slide show ... i'm trying to made my picture zoom in very slowly ... but everytime picture is distord during the motion.
Some body have and idea ? ... i'm trying to do something like that:  http://www.theglobalfund.org/html/accesstolife/en/
But I can only do this: http://www.dev.papahost.ca/bond/
Thanks to everybody who will help me to find my problem !

First try making the images the actual size they will be in the Flash file before you import them if you haven't already done that.  The waviness in it gives me the impression the image is much larger than the size you show.  Then for the image in the library, right click on it and select Properties.  In the interface that opens select the option to allow smoothing.  See if that makes a difference.

  • ACR running slow

I recently installed CS3 as well as upgrading my PC by adding more ram for a total of 4 GB. Also, 80 Gb SATA II HD for scratch, a partition on my third internal drive (data storage) for windows page file. After all of this, my PC (XP Pro) ran noticeably faster.
Now I'm using ACR 4.3.1 to render my raw files, but ACR is much slower than PS. With no other programs running (other than bridge), just trying to zoom in I get a brief pause with the little hour glass popping up for about 1 second and then it zooms in. It seems that almost everything I do in ACR there is a brief pause, with zooming in on something being the slowest (along with the little hour glass popping up) The sliders don't seem to be as responsive as they should be either, when moving the sliders they seem sticky, they don't move smoothy, sort of jerky. I don't have these issues with photo shop.
I run antivirus software as well as antispyware on my PC and they report all is well.
So, is this just the way it is with ACR? if not, any ideas on how it speed things up?
Btw, I've only been using ACR for about 2 weeks, I'm pretty sure I it wasn't like this in the beginning, and I'm wondering if all of started after Microsofts instant update last Tuesday.

Photoshop ram allocation is set to 70% This is on a dell 380 work station. Processor is Pentium D 930 dual core at 3 GHz, the OS is XP pro SP 2, Ram, 4 gig (4x1) DDR2-533 667MHz
I checked the task manager processes field to see if my antivirus might be the cause, but that didn't show anything running. I was running Camera Raw in full screen mode on a large display (Sony GDF- 500R 21inch CRT)

  • Bridge CC and ACR unbearably slow

Upon researching the issue of a slow Bridge CC I realize I am not alone nor is this a new problem. The thread I read extensively is almost a year old. Despite paying for CC for about 9 months I still use CS6. I had hopes that the new 2014 CC would solve the bridge performance issues.
I am running a six-core system with 32 GB ram, an SSD for my OS and programs, an empty 1.5 TB drive dedicated to cache, on a win 7 - 64bit OS. Bridge CC and camera raw are so slow I can't use them.  My only comparison is CS6 and using the same settings for both programs.
When opening bridge CC to the folder that was previously cached and loaded used it took ~51 seconds of "building criteria" before i could view the file types, ratings, and details in the filter box. In other words I do not see any information in the filters box for that time. I made sure that the thumbs were completely loaded into the cache before I closed Bridge CC and opened the program to the same folder. The same folder in Cs6 takes ~4 second to load..
I have performance issues in ACR too.
I batch edit in ACR like out lightroom counterparts do but Bridge CC Plus ACR are too slow to work with.
I selected the same 20 raw files in each case.
bridge CC camera raw 8.5 took 5 seconds of a watch icon  to load the files into the camera raw dialog after hitting CTRL R
No edits or changes were made to the files.
when i click to the next image in the list (still in camera raw) it takes  0.5-1 second of the watch icon to load the next raw photo in the batch.
in CS6 I selected the same 20 unedited RAW files, CTRL R and they immediately load. I can switch from raw file to RAW file without any hiccup or delay. 5 seconds vs instant. I didn't build a six core system to wait for things to load.
not exactly scientific but that's the disparity I am seeing. Bridge CC is death to me. To make sure I wasn't crazy I clicked on a recent folder with only 80 raw files, 80 respective small jpgs and a couple video files (4.5 gigs of data). It took so long I freaked out that I had moved the files to a backup location instead of copying them. After 30 seconds I stopped counting, opened windows explorer, browsed the backup folder, copied the files and was about to paste them to what should have been the original location and then Bridge decided that it was ready to work. For that ~ 60-85 seconds there was no watch icon, no spinning circle or "building criteria". It just looked as if I was browsing an empty folder.
    Any suggestions?

    c. Once you post something that's helpful I'm sure someone will give you a thanks, until then stop trolling these boards - your name was all over that thread with useless and unhelpful information
Well mister Chuck 'know it al', you can congratulate yourself. With just 2 posts in the past year and no points for helpful answers at al you come in hard and call one of the most helpful posters a troll.
This was the limit for both of us, we had to stand a lot, including no help from Adobe but a more crippled forum website after each major upgrade. No possibility to place FAQs, a lot of people screaming for help without taking the effort to look first for similar problems, almost never providing correct details, crucial for a mixed Mac/Windows forum.
We had to suffer a lot, getting in unpaid and just plain users like all other guests, only it did cost us a lot of spare time.
But now we can rest from this task because mister Chuck "know it al" has jumped in to the rescue.
I wish you good luck and pity your friends and family, it must be a difficult task to live with such a nice person.
    Goodbye to you all!!

  • Slow sliders in CS3 ACR

I've been a long time user of ACR in CS2. I've just recently upgraded to CS3 and, while I appreciate the new functionality in the newest version of ACR, I find that moving the sliders in the new ACR is massively slower than the previous version. It is not uncommon for a slider to take 5-10 seconds before it will even respond to a mouse click or drag. This is true even with the sliders that were present in previous versions of ACR so it can't only be because some of the new functionality is more compute-intensive.
This sluggishness really detracts from my RAW processing productivity. Is this expected behavior? Is there anything that can be done in my configuration to restore the performance I had in CS2?
For reference, I process 12MP RAW images from a Nikon D2Xs. I have a two year old computer - single core, Pentium 4, 3GHz, 3GB RAW. I did not have any of these performance problems with CS2/ACR.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    sjprg,
What you say has some merit, but falls short of what is really needed to maximize a PC to run at the best speed you can get out of it. And, redoing your whole machine every six months is certainly effective--but doing it the hard way. Drive image backups will save a lot of work there.
    Here are my suggestions:
My advice is to keep your boot drive (partition)small (20 gigs) and only install programs there that give you no choice of where to put them. And have another partition for a second boot drive (dual boot system)on a second hd, where you also have another small partition (8-10 gigs) for page file and virtual memory only, and use the remaining space for partitions to install programs to, and others for data, such as the LR database, including a large one for your image folders.
Such an arrangement will offer both increased program speed (LR and ACR can use all that you can give it) and better system recoverability. Having a dual boot system allows you to be able to access one side from the other if something goes wrong, or to use one side to first test out new programs like LR or CS3, or one side that is for editing only--no internet access, etc. I personally use a triple boot system, but that is probably not necessary in most cases.
Having your virtual memory and pagefile assigned to its own partition on a second hd will give faster access to those than having it on the same hd as you boot from, and the same reasoning applies to having your programs also on a different partition.
Add to this, regular partition image backups with a program like Acronis True Image--everytime you install or uninstall a program, etc,-- will make you virtually invulnerable to the most common machine killing incidents--accidental or intentional. You should also have a disk image of your basic OS install made before you add programs, so that if you do have some other disaster, you can start from scratch. That will save a lot of rebuild time.
I edit professionally, and I simply cannot afford down time. But when you get right down to the nitty gritty--no one wants a disfunctional computer to have to rebuild or slow, sluggish programs that struggle even more when installed on a non optimized computer.
Having said all this, I still suspect that the OP has a more basic problem--conflict or poor install, etc--with CS3, if the sliders are as slow as he says.

  • Zoom and Pan for Adobe Premiere Elements 12?

I have Adobe Premiere Elements 12. I would like to zoom and pan into a video, but without that slow zoom in/out effect. Basically, I want it like a quick cut close up then back to the original size. I've been trying but nothing seems to work. There's that slow zoom in/out every time I try to get a quick cut in and a quick cut out. Does anyone have any ideas to get this? Thanks

Please check into the details of the Premiere Elements 12 Pan and Zoom Tool. I think that you may be overlooking your opportunities for what you want with that tool, namely, the "Hold" set and the "Pan Time" set and combination there of.

  • MacPro Quad Core 32g Ram running slow Logic using only 9g in Activity Monitor

Well its taken a while, but this is my first foray into the world of forums! I'm so hacked off with this regular problem and havent been able to find anything anywhere to solve it i thought i'd see if anyone has any similiar issues and maybe even a solve to it.
So.... im an orchestrator and producer and after my mid 2008 Macbook Pro with 8g ram started freezing up i invested in this 3 years ago -
Mac Pro 2x 2.4ghz Quad Core intel Xeon and stuck in 32gb of lovely Crucial RAM and 3 seperate internal 1TB drives with one for operating system (10.6.8), one for Audio recording/saving and one for all my sample libraries.
32gb ram - should be enough i thought!
So i regularly run at least 30 VI's - Ni The giant, Spitfire Orchestral librabies (say 12 string instruments up to 0.69g per load) LASS strings, plus perc STYLUS, ABBEY road drums, Trillian basses (acoustic/electric), ominisphere etc etc. So pretty hefty sample instruments. But theyre sooo nice!!
In addition, the 32 bit server will come alive (NOT! So unstable i find) with my Waves plugs etc.
Looking at ACTIVITY MONITOR however i might be not touching 9 gig (and sometimes even less) of usage for Logic, and only say 800MB for 32 bit server and have NOTHING else open - and what do i find .....
    - Mouse lag and cant really do anything with the mouse whilst playing the track - cant adjust volume - too slow, zooming problems
    - Takes a good 2-3 seconds for track to stop playing
Dont get System OVERLOADS so much, its just that the system goes REALLLLLY slow.
    What ive tried- - -
    - Running Mountain Lion off another drive (havent had time to install it and wanted to be sure everything worked etc)
    - Tried all audio prefs - large/small buffers/threads etc and yes i am on 1024.
in a nutshell how come with 32g RAM everything is so slow when barely using 10g of that???????
I dread getting to the end of a project cos i know im gonna be freezing so much, but with so much editing all the time for the orchestral parts i need everything unfrozen and working.
Sorry if this is long winded but wanted to describe what im experiencing.
Any feedback most welcome! Thankyou in advance.

    Hi
    A few thoughts:

The 32bit server is a pita: Waves v9 are 64bit  compatible (they run fine). 32 bit VI's can be run outside Logic using Vienna Ensemble Pro (see later)

Some of these VI's are extremely CPU hungry: Abbey Rd drums for example, really do hammer the CPU. What does Logic's Performance meter show in the way of CPU load. What does Activity Monitor show regarding CPU load?
With 32G of RAM, this should not be the issue, but you might have general CPU problems (see above), and you may also have Sample disk streaming limitations if all the Loibraries you mention are on the same drive. How does Activity Monitor look regarding disk access? You might find it helpful to add a second drive and split the sample libraries across 2 for faster disk access.
I presume that you have plenty of free space on the System drive?
Logic can get sluggish if the Undo info gets way too big, and also if there are loads of regions in the Arrange: check Options:Project Information.
Many are finding some benefits (me included) by running the VI's in Vienna Ensemble Pro:
Better CPU load distribution than directly in Logic
"Persistant Samples": they can remain loaded whilst you switch Logic Projects
Logic is effectively running much less itself, so generally flies.
32bit Plugs hosted separately in VEP so no 32bit Bridge issues in Logic
Something to consider, though perhaps not yet, would be setting up a Slave computer using VEP.

  • How do I create a zoom transition in Premiere Elements 9?

    Hello,
Could you tell me how do I zoom in Adobe Premiere Elements 9? And I mean a slow zoom transition, not a non-transitioning zoom that "jumps" into zoom from one frame to the other.
    Thanks,
    Andrey

If you stretch out the Duration of the included Zoom Transition, does that not do what you want?
When I need Transitions, beyond what come with PrE and PrPro, I usually go to Pixelan's Spice Master first, and sort of "build my own."
    Good luck,

  • Is it possible to zoom in on a still-photo

I have placed a photo in the timeline with the correct duration. Now I want to set a slow zooming in on that picture. This is possible in FCP 7 - but can this be done in FCP X as well?
    Thanks for answer

Yes, you can do it using keying or with the Ken Burns option under the Crop area.  Click on your photo after you have brought it into the timeline then look at the Inspector window in the upper right of your screen.  If it is not visible, click the little " i " icon midway down the right border of your screen.  In the Inspector window, click the Video tab. If you scroll down in that area slightly you will see the Crop section.  Choose the Type field and select the Ken Burns effect.  You can search for Ken Burns in the manual to see how you can change the way you zoom, etc.  Best wishes.

  • What is the best way to zoom in and out of pictures, documentary style?

I'm new to Adobe Premiere and I was looking to a make a mock documentary in which there would be slow zoom in's of photo's while the narrator is talking. If you could imagine what I'm talking about.
Could anyone tell me how you would accomplish that?
    Thanks

It looks like my image has disappeared from my earlier post. I will link to it again at the end of this post.
Ann, I do not understand what you are disagreeing with. You posted a link to a tutorial. I watched it. I don't mean to be troublesome, but Jeff never touched the anchor point once. He pointed it out so people would know what the symbol was, but he never changed the value. If you prefer to use it, that's fine. I merely suggested that doing it the way Jeff did it in the tutorial was the easiest way for most people to begin. You are not a beginner. The fact that you have different ways to do things is not at all unusual. I would be shocked if professionals did everything the basic way that a beginner would do it.
Yes, of course my tutorials are ancient. I don't disagree with that. However, I think I did a pretty decent job on keyframes way back then. I don't believe that anything has changed regarding keyframes between 1.5 and CS6. There are certainly more fixed effects, but the keyframes act the same way.
Perhaps I should not have poked fun at Jeff since you seem to have taken it personally. I have never met him, and all I know is that he is a good teacher, as I said in my earlier post. I don't apologize for finding it funny that he missed something simple. We all miss things . It happens. I do apologize for poking fun at him. And if he felt offended, I am sorry. That wasn't the purpose.
I never suggested that a new user should watch my tutorials, by the way. I know there are people who do watch them because I still get royalties even after all these years (Thank you Lynda for making that possible), and I assume that they have much earlier versions that they can't afford to upgrade. And if they are editing DV, perhaps there is no need to upgrade. I can certainly see why people would want to upgrade, but I have met some pretty poor people in my life who use some really old, donated computers, and who reuse DV tapes over and over again. Not everybody upgrades once they find something that works for them. A few years back I bought a box of new DV tapes to donate on one of my trips and you would have thought that they were made out of gold the way they were received.
But Jeff is not a new user. I believe that as a fellow Lynda.com author, it would not be considered out of place for him to have watched all of the older Lynda.com tutorials in order to have a better grasp on what earlier authors did right, and what they did wrong. What made things easier to understand, and what just caused more confusion. I don't know that he did or didn't. I merely poked fun at his trouble finding the little white dots.
I admit that I am not a professional videographer or photographer. In fact, I will say that I am merely a dilettante who has been lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time to make some money producing tutorials, helping revise books, and reviewing other people's books and tutorials for possible errors, and to make sure that the instructions can be followed to achieve the stated goal. I am a mere technician and a fairly decent researcher. I am not at all sure I have an artistic bone in my body. But I am a pretty good teacher and someone to whom an artist might turn for technical advise. So don't think that throwing the word "professional" around is going to hurt my feelings in any way, or make me think that someone must be technically more adept because they shoot weddings, or commercials, or even feature films. Well, maybe feature films I would hope that they are considerably more artistic and imaginative than I am, but possibly not that much more technically competant.
Back to the little white dots. Most of the time, the image is such that the dots don't hide from you. Now and then, the image gets pretty busy and it is difficult to see. When that happens, looking at just the bounding box and the curves makes it easier. Once it a while it doesn't help to make the image bigger. So this is the workaround. Not the main way to do it. Just when the problem that Jeff was happening in the tutorial I watched comes about.
By the way, as a side note, Lynda Weinman is a delightful person. I can't begin to tell you how thrilled I was when I got to go to lunch with her once during the week I spent in the Lynda.com soundbooth working on my tutorials. She is just as pleasant as can be. I wish I might have gotten a chance to continue to do them over the years, but the other authors have all done an excellent job. And as I mentioned before, I am a bit dry.
The subscription to Lynda.com is worth every penny when you consider the value that Lynda.com offers over YouTube and even Creative Cow tutorials.
