Also, ACR's Reset won't clear adjustment tools settings. What am I doing wrong?

Well, for one, the current version of ACR is 8.3 by now.

Would like to know why Effects adjustment brush is disabled (greyed out) and the only other option is Custom.

It sounds as though you have the Mask Overlay turned on, but with the colour of the mask changed from the default pink to the dark grey that you are seeing when you paint. So either turn off the mask overlay, or change it's colour to something that suits you better (use Shift-O to cycle through the different coloured masks).
To clarify....when you paint with the mask overlay ON, you only see the mask colour on the painted areas until you either switch off the mask or dismiss the active adjustment brush (such as by clicking NEW)....then you get to see the actual effect that you painted.

ACR 8.4 adjustment brush sluggish in Br & PS

The "adjustment brush" in ACR 8.4 has a tremendous lag in PS and Br, is OK in LR. Everything was fine for me in ACR 8.3. MacPro 3.33 GHz 6 core Xeon, 32 GB ram, Rad ATI HD 5870 graphic card, (No difference in basic or advanced Processor setting). OS 10.8.5. All the other ACR sliders work fine. This condition was also present in the 8.4 beta version, and was fine when i switched back to 8.3. I believe this is a core issue with 8.4 because it is also present in my other computer.

Bug ACR 7.2 adjustment brush previews

I realize this is a redundant post - I want to make sure someone at Adobe notices. Adjustment brush previews are turning off when you hover the cursor over the edit pin, and stay off until off until you hover cursor over another pin. The Adjustment brush previews work as expected so long the Show Mask option is checked AND one of the of the Adjustment Brush pins is selected; so one mask is always showing.
For example, when a previously edited image is first re-opened in ACR, no brush pins are selected (Show Mask can be checked). If I hover my cursor over one of the pins (for example I have 6 brush adjustments) the mask flashes on for the associated edit, as expected. When I move the cursor away, the edit preview disappears as if the edit never happened, but the pin remains. I then select one of the pins by clicking on it to make that edit live. Now when I move my cursor over a pin the mask for that pin flashes on, when I move the cursor away from that pin the preview of the edit is showing. Now the preview works for any brush edit.
Makes working with multiple adjustment brushes extremely difficult - not always sure if the results of a previous edit are showing. Have to constantly move my cursor and hover it over another brush pin to verify that I am seeing results of previous edit. If the preview is not showing, as soon as I put down the brush on that edit, the preview springs to life. I do not see this problem using ACR 7.1 on my Vista x64 machine.
As my previous post indicates, I have updated the driver on my FirePro V4900, uninstalled and reinstalled Photoshop, etc. Did not see the problem after I reinstalled Photoshop and briefly used ACR 7. Problem came back once I updated.

HT4528 Was lock out from phone. I took my phone to Apple store Menlo Park NJ.They clear all my contract out. Now for me activation my phone I need my I Apple ID that I open the with it. I forgot it.

Windows 7 Elements 1.0 has brush dynamic Stylus option greyed out

I use photoshop elements 1.0 on a windows 7 laptop with a wacom CTE-430. When I check brush dynamics, the Stylus option is greyed out so I cannot use pressure sensitivity to adjust the brush size. The option works fine on my desktop with Windows XP, so I can't figure out what I need to do to fix it.

Well, I"m sure that Adobe would say that PSE-1 (?) is incompatible with Windows 7, but what do they know?
I would hit Wacom's site to see if they have an updated driver for your tablet, compatible with Windows 7.
You can also investigate running PSE in compatibility mode for XP SP-2.

Fix and Fix All buttons greyed out in Analyzed Results List

The Fix and Fix All buttons are greyed out in the Analyzed Results List. This was working preTiger at least. Perhaps after my initial clean install of 10.4.1. Now running 10.4.3. Things I've tried to no avail:
Reading the documentation and "Late Breaking News".
Repaired permissions.
Repaired disk. (found no problems)
Ran Disk Warrior (found no problems)
Trashed SountrackPro prefs file.
Tried several existing and three new Audio File Projects on the internal and an external firewire drive.
Searched for a similar topic in this forum.

It works for me.
First you have to select what you want to fix (e.g.
clicks and pops) then press the analyze button to get
a list of things to fix.
Right after the analysis is done, if at least one
thing was found to fix,you should see the "fix all"
button not greyed out, but the "Fix" button will be
greyed out until you actually click on one or more
of the items in the analysis result list.
Are you seeing something different from the behavior
I've described?
My experience and information is that Soundtrack Pro only finds clipped samples. Have you been able to fix them as well?

All Agents Greyed Out or Not Monitored

I am running SCOM 2012 R2. All of my clients were re-imaged (Over 500) during the summer. Each image that was created had the SCOM 2012 R2 Agent installed. The images were installed on all of my clients. Now, most of the clients are
listed as greyed out or not monitored. The server has Event Log entries of the following:
Operations Manager has received a connection from a system running an older version of Operations Manager
None of my clients are running an older version of the agent. What's also new is that I cannot tell if my clients are turned on or not. The clients that are green are always green. Even when they are powered off, they are never grey
in the console. Even after I ping them or refresh. They always stay green. Any help would be appreciated.

I deleted the Health Service State folder and I modified the DB so they are remotely manageable. Now I am trying a repair. But what I dont understand is why the healthy clients do not show when they are turned off? They normally go from
green to grey. I've tried a ping and a refresh and I cannot get them to go grey.

My 'Location Services is on but all is greyed out so I can't change anything. Any ideas?

I want some of my apps to use the location services & to be able to turn it off, but it's all greyed out. Same with my Cloud. I read thru the entire manual, with no luck. Could someone give me a little advice? My iPhone 4S is from Verizon

Settings>General>Restrictions. You may have disabled changes to location services.

Server 4.0 can't edit users and groups. All options greyed out.

I have upgraded the mac mini server from Mavericks to Yosemite and had to update to Server 4.0 and having many issues.
One issue is I can't edit users and groups. All the options are greyed out.

Search the System keychain on the server for application passwords with the name "/LDAPv3/127.0.0.1" and delete any you find. Sign out of the Server app and sign back in using the FQDN of the server, not "localhost" or "127.0.0.1".

IPhone 4s Almost all songs and all videos greyed out and will not play

I bought the iPhone 4s yesterday and have been beating my head against the wall over this problem all night. I only have about 2,000 songs on the iPhone and about 10 videos. Some of the songs will play, but all others are greyed out and all videos are greyed out. When plugged into iTunes the same problem is there, the same songs that do not play are greyed out while the ones that will play are not grey.

I've had this issue before. The greyed songs in iTunes are because the original music files have been moved on your computer and itunes can't find them. Delete all your grayed out songs (might be easier to select all and delete all) ; then drag them all from your music file/folder back into your itunes... then resync.

All content greyed out on iPad

All of a sudden, all of the content on my iPad is greyed out. This includes music, movies, TV shows and books. Also, the icon for my rentals has appeared when I have no active rentals and this shows all my old rentals, greyed out as well. I tried rebooting the iPad, iTunes and re-synching, but that didn't work. I normally just have the iPad automatically backup to the cloud, but I tried a manual synch the other day and the Apple connector cord is fraying at places, maybe there was an error. Any thoughts?

Mauualy sync ipod but all contents greyed out. Help!!

I have added items manually (box ticked for that and no auto syncing) but now my ipod touch is full. yet when I click on my ipod in the menu on the left, all the contents are greyed out so I cannot edit anything. I can however edit everything in my itunes library. why is this. I have downloaded music recently but cannot add it as ipod is full. Would appreciate help but not very technical so please please explain in a way I can hopefully understand!!

It sounds like you aren’t able to backup your iPhone 5c because it isn’t showing up as a device in iTunes. The suggestions in the article below will most likely resolve the issue, use the first article if you have a PC and the second if you have a Mac.

All menus greyed out after transfer to new computer via Migration Assistant

Hi!
My collegue just moved all his stuff to a new computer using the Migration Assistant.
All seem to work fine except Apple Remote Desktop 3 which start up, but the main window isn't shown and the menus are all grey.
We have tried to re-install and also tried to toss everything that's related to ARD (Like the ”Remote Desktop” folder in /Library/Application Support/Apple and the ARD prefs. file in ~/Library/Preferences) and re-installed again, but still the same.
Any ideas?
A permission problem somewhere perhaps?

It helped to do this command:
+sudo rm -rf /var/db/RemoteManagement+

This let us type in the serial number again when starting up the ”Remote Desktop.app” and all seems fine.
