ACR adjustments reflected in Bridge 5.1 thumbnails - how?

In Bridge 5.1, how do I get the thumbnails displayed from CR2 files to reflect adjustments made to them in ACR? I seem to recall this happened in earlier versions, but I have not figured out how to make it happen in 5.1. Any suggestions?

Thanks for the reply.  (I have not learned how to reply in the discussion page).
The comment that Ouderman made made sense but did not workl
Your comment also makes sense but it took me a long time, following your hint, to find those settings -- they are int in "Preferences". But once found they worked.  Thank you very much.

  • ACR adjustments not showing up in Bridge

I've done some searching but have not found an answer to my ?  So hope it isn't a repeat.  I'm on a iMac with 16 gig of RAM and updated graphics card running the latest version of Lion.
After downloading the beta of CS6/ACR7 I have noticed that if I'm working on a photo in ACR and click "done" (not save image), the ACR adjustments don't always show up in Bridge.  Sometimes it might show the adjustments and other times it doesn't.  Doesn't seem to matter if the raw file is NEF or DNG.  It is very hit and miss.
I did an update on CS5 before I downloaded the beta of CS6 and I've noticed that it does the same thing.  Went to my lap top with none of the latest updates and all adjustments in ACR show up in Bridge.  I compared ACR and Bridge Preferences and all was the same between the machines.  (Lap top is a MacBook Pro 15").
Anyone have any idea what needs to be changed so all adjustments in ACR show up in Bridge?  If the adjustments in ACR are all I need to do, it is frustrating to have to do a "save image" and make a duplicate just to get the adjustments to show up.  I can use LR and have it work this way, but I prefer ACR.
    Thanks,
    Sue

Thank you Ann!!!!!  That was the problem.  I sure appreciate your help.

  • Launching Bridge CC from thumbnails

Ever since installing Bridge CC I can no longer launch Bridge from a thumbnail.  Yes, I have done all the obvious file associations in Windows 7 and in Bridge Preferances. And i have clearned out all old preferance files and reinstalled CC twice.  Can launch Bridge fine and go to pictures but cannot launch by double-clicking on jpeg.  Open With gives me Bridge option but nothing happens--Bridge will not launch.  Help.  Thanks.

Sorry for confusion.  I was using “thumbnails” too broadly. L  Replace thumbnail with file, that is a jpeg file in a folder.
Even with PS and Bridge open if I click on a jpeg file I cannot get Bridge to launch while I can get PS to launch.
To be more specific, let’s assume we right click on xyz.jpg and select “Open With”.   I am given options of course and if I choose PS it will launch PS.  Same with Windows Photo Viewer. And others.
But if I try Bridge nothing happens.  Nothing.
Fyi, I have reinstalled Bridge CC three times and am running Windows 7.  This all used to work fine before I switched from CS6 to CC.
    Thank you.

  • My issue started as ACR grayed out in Bridge using PS CC. No option in preference to open in Camera Raw.

My issue started as ACR grayed out in Bridge using PS CC. No option in preferences to open in Camera Raw. After browsing this forum I downloaded the most recent ACR and installed. Now Bridge stalls on the "building crieria" screen. There is a message to purge the cache but that screen stalls as well. I have force quite multiple times and re-started. Any suggestions?

As far as i know, photoshop cs2 and adobe bridge 1 (cs2) could not open jpegs or tiffs into camera raw, only camera raw files.
I believe photoshop cs3 was the first version to allow jpegs to be opened in camera raw.
Are you sure you had photoshop cs2 before?
If on the other hand, you can't open camera raw files that you used to be able to open, then you probably just need to update the camera raw plugin to version 3.7

cs6 bridge not showing thumbnails for raw files.
Can see thumbnails in CS5.1 bridge  and LR 4.2 which fortunately i did not uninstall.
Bummer since I am up against a hard deadline.
    Really Sucks

We can't know. You are not offering any system information or e.g. info about what image files you are working with. Since they do show up in your otehr programs, my assumption would be that you need to switch the Camera Raw engine back to the 2009/2010 version in Photoshop and not use the default new 2012 one. Perhaps your thumbnails will appear then....

I had a similar problem, and i found that the photo was of very low resoluton. As a test I resized the image to a lrager resolution using photoshop CS4 and re saved it as JPG. I imported the new saved image and it seem to have fixed the problem.

  • CS4 bridge displays jpegs thumbnails only

CS4 bridge displays jpegs thumbnails only
Can someone who may have seen this problem or experienced a silimilar issue explain what is happening to CS4 bridge. I just installed PC version of CS4 photophop. It appears that in bridge, only jpegs thumnails will display. Tiffs and PSD files only show up as icons. Also the file association menu seems to have disappeared. Now if I log in as administrator , everything works properly. All thumbnails display correctly, assoication menu appears and bridge will update fine. Does anyone have an idea of what is happening here??

Did this happen recently, or has it always worked this way?  If this is a new occurance some file may be corrupted and your best bet would be to reset Bridge.  You can do that by holding down Crtl and starting Bridge.  A reset window will appear, choose all 3 options.
One other point.  If you are using Vista and an external drive there can be persissoning problems, but this does not seem like it should be one.

  • File numbers disappeared on thumbnails, how do I get them back?

My file numbers disappear on the thumbnails, how do I get them back? Im not sure if I changed a setting or if it is a bug in the program, but I need to get the file numbers (file names) to reappear.
    Thank you for your help

The short answer is either Y or U toggles metadata display on images in the viewer and browser.
    The long answer is here:

Very easy. That means you have a "no layer thumbnails" option selected.
Go into the Layers Panel menu at the upper right of the Panel, choose Panel Options and you will see Thumbnail sizes to choose from.
    Select one, click OK.

  • Creative Cloud CS6 Bridge failed on an attempt to update - Bridge is now gone - how

A few weeks ago Creative Cloud CS6 Bridge failed on an attempt to update - Bridge is now gone - how do I reinstall?

Bridge in Cs6 come along with other creative suite product like PS, ID, Ai etc, it will be tough to do the installation of just Bridge without uninstalling any of this product through AAM.
You can download the trial from Adobe.com of any of this software and can perform the repair installation to get back Bridge but I will be interested to know how Adobe Bridge vanished from computer all of a sudden, May be it is still there ?

  • ACR modifications not reflected in bridge

    Hello,
Off and on my ACR changes are not being reflected in the bridge content thumbnails nor the preview.  It is currently happening all the time (year change?) but it was happening sporadically previous to this (sorry, not very helpful information).  I open the RAW file in ACR by double-clicking on the thumbnail in bridge, change the various settings, click on done or edit further in PS.  When I go back to bridge none of the ACR modifications are there.  If I re-open the file in ACR the changes are still there.  I have cleaned-out the cache and the dates on the xmp file are later than the ones on the CR2 file.
    Windows Vista (:still)
    CS5
    Canon 5D Mark II
Thanks in advance for you help.

Reference for anyone else having the same problem ...  I updated to the latest version of PS, Bridge and ACR and the problem seems to be resolved.  It may be because of the updated files or it may be because some settings were changed back to the way they used to be.

  • ACR not saving after "done" and no changes reflected in Bridge.

Am using CS5 and ACR 6.x (newest) on iMac (10.6.8)
Within the past couple of days I've encountered an issue when in ACR.  I edit my raw file then press "done" to save my changes (in xmp).
Then going back to Bridge the symbols no longer pop up indicating any changes and going back in to bridge it is as if nothing has changed.
In Finder I can see I have an xmp sidecar.
This just began occurring with the last two cards I uploaded.
I use Nikon Transfer to upload from CF card.
To the best of my knowledge I made no changes immediately proir to this occuring.
After this first happened downloaded te latest updates to ACR.
It does not seem to mater if I have Generate High Quality Thumbnail set or not.
Any idea if I have a setting askew.
    Thanks
    Bob

Well, I think I found the problem. It was a setting in Bridge that I must have unset.  In switching from  Filmstrip to Metadata views and back I must have accidentally switched from  "High Quality on Demand" to "Prefer Embeddd (Faster)"
When I discovered this and switched back it resolved the problem.
Scary as I do a lot of work in ACR and Bridge

  • CS3 Bridge not showing thumbnails

I've got adobe cs3, all updates applied with a nikon d3 using their latest software.  Adobe Bridge will not show the thumbnail of the picture when picture taken. (camera attached to PC). All I see is the filename.NEF.  If I take a few pictures, close Bridge and reopen it, thumbnails display.  I've tried clearing cache etc...but no luck.  What can I do to make sure that the thumbnails display when I take a picture.
    ideas???? Thanks.

If I read this correctly you are trying to use Bridge as a real time viewer of what is on camera.  Not sure it works this way.  The best results are to download pictures to Bridge using a card reader.  Make sure you have v. 4.6 ACR installed in correct folder if you have trouble viewing NEF files.

  • Bridge (and mini Bridge) shows no thumbnails

Bridge CS6 doesn't seem to work at all. The program launches fine on my Mac, but when I point it to a folder of images, I get nothing. No thumbnails or metadata. If I double click on an image (blank thumb), the image properly launches in Photoshop or ACR. I've reset the prefrences and purged the cache, but nothing has changed. At the bottom of the Bridge window, the message never seems to update. It just seems stuck there.
    Any thoughts?
    Antonio

Check out post #4 of this thread.  Instructions are for CS3 so change to CS6 in text.  http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1160627?tstart=0
