ACR Crop Menu (Custom Presets?)

Hello all,
Just a quicky.  In the ACR Crop Menu there are presets for 4x5, 2x3, and most recently 9x16.
Is there a way to update this menu with custom crop ratios?
I haven't seen a template file to update, but I imagine there is a way to do this.
Any ideas?
Thanks,
Phil

Nope, the listed ratios are hard coded and can't be changed or altered. You have a single "custom" ration you can set, but that's it.

  • Is there a way to delete custom presets? (Premiere Elements 11 Mac)

    I have been experimenting with different ouput options for AppleTV with 1080p and 720p video, and have created many custom presets.  I would like to get rid of several which didn't give good results.  I have not found an option to delete custom presets from the share tab in elements11.  There is no trash icon available.  In addition, I have not had any success in finding the presets file.  Any one know how to do this?

    To delete a custom output preset, you just select the preset on the Publish & Share panel and then click the trashcan icon next to the preset drop-down menu.
    Note, of course, that you can only delete custom presets. Not default presets.

  • Media Encoder CC exporting the wrong resolution in custom preset h.264

    I have two custom presets in Media Encoder CC.  The original file is an mov Lossless 720x480 from After Effects.  One is h.264 mp4 720x480 and the other is h.264 640x480.  When I encode the resolutions are 872x480 and 581x480 respectively.  Not sure what I have going on here.  The presets worked with the same settings just fine in Media Encoder CS6 on another computer.  Any ideas?

  • Is There A Way To Create Custom Presets For Sharing/Exporting?

    First-time iMovie users, long-time Mac enthusiast.
    VERY impressed with how easy this wonderful application is to learn, but the inability to save custom presets exporting to Quicktime is puzzling.
    iMovie6 does remember the settings I specified in "Expert Settings", but it'd be great to save it as "canned preset" that would show up w/all the other ones (Email, CD-Rom, Web, etc).
    Is this just another feature I've yet to discover, or is it possible at all? Or is it the first roadblock I've encountered where extra ca$h is needed for another product?

    How to export book pdf using custom presets for all book files in indesign using javascript.

    Hi jackkistens,
    Try the below js code.
    Note: you can change your preset name in below (e.g, Your preset name).
    var myBook = app.activeBook;
    myBook.exportFile(ExportFormat.PDF_TYPE, File (myBook.filePath+"/"+myBook.name.replace(/\.indb/g, ".pdf")), false, "Your preset name", myBook.bookContents, "Book_PDF", false);
    example:
    var myBook = app.activeBook;
    myBook.exportFile(ExportFormat.PDF_TYPE, File (myBook.filePath+"/"+myBook.name.replace(/\.indb/g, ".pdf")), false, "[High Quality Print]", myBook.bookContents, "Book_PDF", false);

  • Custom Preset for Nikon D7000

    I recently upgraded to a D7000 and PE9 (was using PSE4).  This DSLR creates .mov video files - and I am creating a finished QuickTime video.  Used for viewing on computer and upload to YouTube, Vimeo and other sites.  The custom preset I have created is below.  I am looking for any comments on how I can (or if I should), optimize this setting in any way?
    Also, does it make sense to create a different output file - perhaps an FLV?
    H.264
    Quality 100%
    1280 x 720
    Frame Rate 29.97 (the camera is recording at 30fps, should I change my preset to this?)
    Limit data to 8,000 kbts
    Aspect Ratio = Square Pixels (1.0)
    Field Type = Progressive
    Render at Maximimum Depth (24 bit)
    Key Frame every 15 frames
    I did find that if I renedered at less that 8,000 kbts I was getting distortion.  This 8,000 was a bit of a "guess" range, keeping a 5 minute video under 400 MB.  If I had not restriction on size, the quality was extremely nice, but file size for same video was over 2 gig.
    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    If you're going to post to YouTube, these output settings will get you the best results:
    http://forums.adobe.com/thread/623549?tstart=0
    But, of course, getting the best results from your output is highly dependent on how well your source video matches your project settings.
    If your project settings are a perfect match for your camera's video, you will not see a red line above the clips on your timeline until you add an effect or transition to them. Was that the case for you?

  • Widescreen Format custom preset in Compressor 4?

    I used to do HD (16X9) format only, but ever since I saw other views, especially really cool looking cinematic music videos carrying the widescreen format I've been wanting to apply that to my videos. Currently my only known solution to this is simply making an image that fits exactly on my frame with two black bars to letter box my 16X9 videos in FCPX. I tried making a custom preset in Compressor 4 with the dimension of the video set to 1920X800 which is exactly 2.40X1 in aspect ratio. I also turned the pixel aspect ratio to sqauare but the results still looked weird. The video was simply squished down with a large black bar at the top and the dimension of the video was still 1920*1080.
    Enough with the rubbish (I'm not good at explaining things). Does anyone know how to formuate a custom preset in Compressor 4 so that when I export from FCPX using Compressor presets the file would be natively 1920*800 and that the excess pixels are trimmed away automatically? Or is there an option in FCPX itself that allows me to set the aspect ratio of my video to widescreen in the first place?
    Thanks for the help in advance!

    Thanks for the suggestion, I tried to export a clip with a black JPEG file from MPEG Steamclip at 1920*800 24fp, but when I put it in my timeline in FCPX the video option window droped down saying that the format is not recognised and forced me to use the presets the came with it. Any other solution?
    Thanks

  • How can i open the "Convert to Indexed Color" dialog with custom presets?

    Hi,
    I need to automatically open the "Convert to Indexed Colors" dialog in Photoshop. Before and after that i have some scripts running so its not possible to open the dialog manually. Also i want to set some custom presets (like number of colors etc.).
    Found something similar to what i want for the Color Range selection (opens the dialog with the presets you put in):
    function colorrange(enabled, withDialog, fuzziness) {
        if (enabled != undefined && !enabled)
          return;
        var dialogMode = (withDialog ? DialogModes.ALL : DialogModes.NO);
        var desc1 = new ActionDescriptor();
        desc1.putInteger(app.charIDToTypeID('Fzns'),fuzziness);
        var desc2 = new ActionDescriptor();
        desc2.putDouble(app.charIDToTypeID('Lmnc'), 31.22);
        desc2.putDouble(app.stringIDToTypeID("a"), 0.86);
        desc2.putDouble(app.stringIDToTypeID("b"), 0.31);
        desc1.putObject(app.charIDToTypeID('Mnm '), app.charIDToTypeID('LbCl'), desc2);
        var desc3 = new ActionDescriptor();
        desc3.putDouble(app.charIDToTypeID('Lmnc'), 95.34);
        desc3.putDouble(app.stringIDToTypeID("a"), 54.59);
        desc3.putDouble(app.stringIDToTypeID("b"), 49.85);
        desc1.putObject(app.charIDToTypeID('Mxm '), app.charIDToTypeID('LbCl'), desc3);
        desc1.putInteger(app.stringIDToTypeID("colorModel"), 0);
        var desc4 = new ActionDescriptor();
        var desc4 = executeAction(app.stringIDToTypeID('colorRange'), desc1, dialogMode);
    How can i achieve the same for the indexed color conversion dialog? Apart from doing a lot of guessing regarding the stringIDs.
    Is there some kind of "lookup table" for char and string IDs?
    Thank you guys in advance! This forum has been a great help many times.

    Ok never mind i got it, stupid me.
    Recorded it with Script Listener and changed the "DialogMode" parameter of the executeAction function from "DialogModes.No" to "DialogModes.All".
    var idCnvM = charIDToTypeID( "CnvM" );
                var desc249 = new ActionDescriptor();
                var idT = charIDToTypeID( "T  " );
                    var desc250 = new ActionDescriptor();
                    var idPlt = charIDToTypeID( "Plt " );
                    var idClrP = charIDToTypeID( "ClrP" );
                    var idSele = charIDToTypeID( "Sele" );
                    desc250.putEnumerated( idPlt, idClrP, idSele );
                    var idClrs = charIDToTypeID( "Clrs" );
                    desc250.putInteger( idClrs, 4 );
                    var idFrcC = charIDToTypeID( "FrcC" );
                    var idFrcC = charIDToTypeID( "FrcC" );
                    var idNone = charIDToTypeID( "None" );
                    desc250.putEnumerated( idFrcC, idFrcC, idNone );
                    var idTrns = charIDToTypeID( "Trns" );
                    desc250.putBoolean( idTrns, false );
                    var idDthr = charIDToTypeID( "Dthr" );
                    var idDthr = charIDToTypeID( "Dthr" );
                    var idDfsn = charIDToTypeID( "Dfsn" );
                    desc250.putEnumerated( idDthr, idDthr, idDfsn );
                    var idDthA = charIDToTypeID( "DthA" );
                    desc250.putInteger( idDthA, 75 );
                var idIndC = charIDToTypeID( "IndC" );
                desc249.putObject( idT, idIndC, desc250 );

  • Question on Premiere Elements 8 Custom Presets

    I have Premiere Elements 8. When starting a new project and going through the presets, none match what my camera is recording. Is there a way to create a custom preset? I tried starting a new project and going to "edit>preferences>general" but it won't let me change any of the fields. I did find an old thread where someone had something you could download to add more presets, but it was a bad link.
    The video I am wanting to edit is 1280x720, 59.4 fps, mpeg. But the camera(gopro HD) also has other resoloution/framerate options. I also have a Nikon D3s slr, not sure if there is a preset for that as I haven't gotten that far yet. It will open and let me edit in the other presets but I want it right.
    Hopefully someone can help me out!

    I understand how you feel. PrE is a great program, however with the number of formats/CODEC's and their often tweaked specs., I feel that the lack of a custom Preset is a drawback, and have filed a Feature Request with every version I have used. As I also have PrPro, this is less an issue for me, but feel that it could be so useful to other users. So far - nothing. I realize that Adobe has a balancing act with PrE and PrPro, in that one should expect something extra for an additional US $600 +/-, but I would think that extracting and re-working the existing code from PrPro here, would not be THAT big a deal. Still, I am not a coder, so perhaps it would be much more difficult, than I imagine. Maybe PrE 10? Unless you do have a screaming deal on PrPro CS 5.5, I think that I wouuld hold off until ~ Sept., as that is traditionaly when PrE's newest version is introduced - just in time to stock the shelves in time for Holiday sales. If more flexibility in Project settings are not included in PrE 10, then PrPro would be a viable option. As the general mechanics of the two programs is very similar, all one has to do is learn where things are located in PrPro, and get used to doing more things manually (with added control). Personally, I like working that way better, than having less control and simple buttons to push, but that is just me. Many decry having to do things with less automation, or having to use a separate bundled program, Encore, for all DVD/BD authoring, where PrE has that capability built in. All that said, I probably recommend PrE 10x more often, than I do PrPro.
    Also, and especially with consumer material, PrE usually gets those in Presets, before they show up in PrPro. AVCHD and Import of VOB's are but two such examples. Still, with the Desktop/Custom Preset in PrPro, having the Presets is less of a big deal, but pure, true native support for a format/CODEC certainly is.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
    PS - though too late for PrE 10, do file the Feature Request. The more requests, the more likely that the feature will make its way into PrE.

  • Custom Presets Don't Work

    I can save a custom preset, but when I load it, it has no effect on the sound. I have to load default effects and tweak them every time. Is there a way to troubleshoot this and get it working properly?
    Audition CC
    Mac OS 10.8.2

    I tried to recreate your problem rendering Quicktimes to Animation + Alpha, ProRes 4444 + Alpha, and just plain H.264 and I didn't experience any darkening in all three renders.
    The Quicktime animation codec is pretty ancient and hasn't been updated since Quicktime Pro 7.  ProRes 4444 (AKA 4x4) is also as good as Lossless and has Alpha with a Depth option of Trillions of Colors +.  I would suggest using that.  In the Output Module box where it says Video Output choose Channels: RGB + Alpha, Depth: Trillions of Colors+, Color: Premultiplied (Matted) with Format Options set to ProPres 4x4.

  • Where are Image Trace custom presets saved?

    I had to reinstall CS6 and am now looking for my old AI Image Trace custom presets. I'd like to restore them if possible from a Time Machine backup so I don't have to recreate a setting, but I can't seem to find where those are located. Can someone point me in the right direction.
    Thanks!

    On a Mac they are in the hidden Users/<yourname>/Library/Preferences
    Google for Mac OSX hidden library for instructions to show the Library folder.

  • Sharing custom preset local adjustment brushes between 2 computers?

    As I start to do more and more of my work in either Lightroom 2.2 or ACR, I'm creating "preset" local adjustment brushes.
    I run on a desktop and a lap top.
    Is there a way to copy and move the new preset brushes from one computer to another?
    Asked another way, where does ACR and/or Lightroom store these things on a Mac so that I can copy from one and move to another?
    Thanks.
    Steve

    ACR Presets and Settings etc. are stored in:
    Users/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Camera Raw/
    You can copy them to another computer and store them in the equivalent place.

  • Camera Raw 6.1 Crop Menu?

    I have the book Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS5 which goes through the Camera Raw 6.1 features
    On the section on the crop tool they show a "Crop menu"
    I don't see that menu, is the book incorrect or am I missing something?

    Hello Jeff,
    Did not realize it was you until I looked at the cover of the book.
    First of all, great book.  I am about 40% through the book reading every page.
    Second, yes, what you say is correct.  Holding down the mouse does bring up the menu but that is not intutive from a PC perspective.
    I asked a few other people to read page 145 and 146 of your book and to bring up the menu, nobody got it until I showed them what you stated (hold down the mouse button).
    Perhaps I am just stupid and maybe these are nits, but,
    A) I would have mentioned this fact in the book
    B) There is no Option key on the PC, its Shift and Alt (I have seen other books where they mention this when important)
    Now I know.  BTW, the little triangle is really little at high res and does not really show up when the button is in focus but that is not your issue, maybe adobe will make the buttons larger in the future or scale to the res of the screen.
    To your credit, pages 173-176 do have the Windows PC keystroked for RAW which I have photo copied and taped to my wall
    Thank you for the reply
    Enzo

  • Saved custom preset on import

    My imports have been showing up in Lightroom 3.4 with a custom preset applied that I don't want.  I can't seem to be able it to stop applying it, however I can reveert the import to the default settings one at a time in Quick Develop.  I currently have about a thousand images all of which need to be corrected and have tried sync with no results.  Hopefully someone will have a simple solution that is not apparent to me at this time.  It seems this problem started around the time I was experimenting with enableing profile corrections which I have setup at default.  thanks  jc

    I think the right spot is:
    C:\Users\<user name>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\Defaults
    There may be files in there with odd names (not preferences).  You might move those files to your desktop or some other place temporarily to see if that fixes your problem.  You can check by relaunching LR after you move them and then resetting one of the odd files.

  • Where Are The Custom Preset Files Stored?

    I deleted FCS 2 before installing FCS 3 and unfortunately all of my custom presets in Compressor were lost.
    I have got Time Machine with the old Compressor but I don't know where the old preset files are stored.
    Ideally I would like to copy them to the new version as re-writing them will be a pain, assuming I can still remember what they were!

    Ian,
    Now aren't you glad you went to the trouble of setting up Time Machine?
