ACR errs in reading "as shot" WB from my D200

I am working with the latest release of ACR. Recently I have discovered that it does a very poor job of reading the white balance data in the exif from my Nikon D200. First I noted that when the in-camera WB was set to flash (5400K according to Nikon manual) the "as shot" WB temperature displayed in ACR was 6150K. Next I tried setting the in-camera WB to specific temperatures (from 4800K to 6300K). When the raw files were opened in ACR the "as shot" WB readings were all shown as lower temperatures, with a drop ranging from 11 to 14 mired. Compare this to the increase of 23 mired when WB was set to "flash" on camera.
Is it possible that I have some hidden setting somewhere that is interfering with ACR's reading of the exif WB? Or is this considered a normal deviation? I have searched the archive but find no information concerning this problem.

Thanks for your replies. It may well be that Nikon's color temperature values are off. However 5400K is a reasonable value for a flash exposure, and for ACR to "correct" this to 6150K does not seem reasonable.
If I set the camera WB to flash (5400K) and take an exposure of a white wall, when the raw image is opened in ACR the "as shot" temp shows 6150K and the image is obviously way too warm. Changing the WB in ACR to 5400K produces a neutral image. Using the WB eyedropper in ACR also shifts the temp to approx. 5400K.
I don't have access to Nikon NX. What would be the point of using the camera's WB preset capability if ACR is incapable of reading the metadata correctly.

I have lightroom 1.0 and a Nikon D200 - running in PTP mode - when I import photos - lightroom states no photos to import.
If I switch to Mass Storage Mode - lightroom shows me the photos on the card, but I cant select "Move photos and import".
So I have to copy the photos to my harddrive first, then I can move them into my library - not very pratically
Anybody found a solution to this irritating workflow ?

Thom Hogan recommends transferring pictures by using a card reader, rather than tranferring from the D200. http://www.bythom.com/d200guide.htm
I agree with him.
I do not move photos from the card. Instead I copy them, back them up, and verify that they have copied properly before deleting them from the card. If there is a problem moving the files, you could lose your photos.
I am waiting for all of you to test and identify problems with Vista before I upgrade, so I do not know if Vista has problems with card readers.

Elements 10 can not read the raw-files from my Sony a-57

The raw-converter is updatet to 6.7 and according to Adobe it should be able to read Sony a-57. When I got Elements 10, a file had to be moved so it could read the raw-files from my Minolta 5D. Can this be the cause of the problem ? What to do ?

I too had to the same problem. Couldn't find why we get that error. But could set the wallpaper using the command line.

The "iPad format" is PNG (which is better quality than JPEG).
There is no way to choose JPEG at the moment of taking the screen shot. You will need to convert the file using conversion software, probably on your computer. Google "convert PNG to JPEG".

How to read an audio file from the disk and play it?

Do you know who to read an audio file from the hard disk and play it. It's for an application and not an applet. I tried with the Applet.newAudioClip(URL url) thing, but I keep getting a MalformedURLException.
And is there a way to get the path of the file you are using? Currently I'm doing this:

I'm sure there's a better way. And this is not for an applet, just a normal app.

I'm using Windows 8 (not 8.1) and whatever the latest Thunderbird version is. They're both IMAP accounts. I was using Windows Live, but I couldn't get that to work, so I switched to TB. It works JUST fine for the one account, but not the other! They're identical except for the "handle". Both off my local ISP, set them up at the same time.

I was wondering if there was a way to just read a random line from the text file.

I thought that maybe serializing the ArrayList might be faster than creating the ArrayList by iterating over each line in the text file. But alas, I was wrong. Here's my code anyway:

Read-only file access from network volume

I get an read-only file access from network volume problem while sharing a drive from Snow Leopard to a Tiger install. Most of files were opening well, but *.fp7 (FileMaker) and *.xls (Excel) files won't open dealing with a read-only error.
As descibed in the last post of http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=1406977 the client have the same share name of the server. Renomming it resolved the error!

right then, as it looks like I'm talking to myself....
I have just wiped clean the Macbook Pro.
I installed Leopard from scratch, then installed Office 2008.
Logged back onto the network share, and the read-only error came up again, ONLY in Excel.
bugger.
Did the same thing with my Macbook and all is fine.
Copy the file to the local hard drive, opens ok.
I then copied the file to another Mac on the network.
mmmm, opens fine.
what's the difference....
mmmm, the machine it opens fine from is running 10.4
the machine which hosts all the data is running 10.3.9
could this be the problem.
Just done a software update check on the 10.3 machine and there are some security updates that need doing.
Going to run that now and see what happens, otherwise I think the iMac running 10.3.9 is going to need to come up to 10.4 and fingers crossed this will solve it.

Help reading a .txt file from the hard drive....

Ok... I need to know how to read a .txt file from the hard drive... I have an example on how to read from a disk, but I don't have a disk drive. I could be confusing terminology, but I don't think I am. Here is the code I have for reading from a disk.. please let me know how I should change it to read from a hard drive.
Also, when the error pops up, it says that it can't read another .txt file that is not specified in the code... any ideas how that is occuring? Please advise.

Is there a way to read a zip file from the applicatoin server to internal table in ABAP program? The operation system is running MS windows server. The zip file contains only 1 text file. I tried to use open dataset 'uncompress', and use read dataset, but read dataset gave me sy-subrc = 4. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

to convert xstring to text you can use this:
DATA unzipped_data TYPE xstring.
DATA text_data TYPE string.
DATA conv_x2c TYPE REF TO cl_abap_conv_in_ce.
conv_x2c = cl_abap_conv_in_ce=>create( ).
conv_x2c->convert( EXPORTING input = unzipped_data IMPORTING data = text_data ).
moreover, if you want to split your text at "end of line" (CR LF in microsoft windows) into lines:
DATA text_lines TYPE TABLE OF string.
SPLIT text_data AT cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf INTO TABLE text_lines.
