ACR Nikon D3X profile not listed

Hi I have Adobe Bridge CS6 v 5.0.2.4. I've been using this for a few years with my Nikon D2 series cameras. When I open up a RAW file from one of these cameras, I have a choice of camera profiles for Nikon D2 cameras in the camera profiles drop down menu. No problem. However, I've recently added a Nikon D3x to my kit. When I open up a RAW file from this camera there is no profile listed in the drop down menu in ACR. I've checked on the Adobe RAW compatible cameras list and the Nikon D3x is confirmed as compatible but says I need a minimum of version of 5.3 camera raw plug-in for the D3x. When I check for updates from Adobe Bridge I'm told that I'm already running the most up to date version. Can anyone please advise how to resolve this? Thanks

Hi ssprengel and JimHess, ACR version 8.6.0.254. No when I open a RAW file from my D3x there is no profile for this in the drop down menu only Adobe Standard, a list of my D2 cameras and modes 1, 2 & 3 and portrait, landscape, vivid etc. No D3X. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something, should I be loading up the profile from somewhere? or should ACR recognise the camera automatically. What's puzzling me is that the Bridge/compatible cameras list says I need a newer version of Bridge than the one I'm currently running, but I don't know how to get it. The return on the 'check updates' tab says I'm running the most up to date version. Funny thing is I had one of the support people look at this via the chat service, eventually they asked me to send a RAW file from my camera so that hey could check it at their end. I got an email back later that day confirming that they couldn't see the D3X profile either, case closed..BTW, just to clarify, I have Bridge v 5.02.4 x64 . My version of ACR is 8.6. Thanks for your help, apologies if I'm missing something simple

  • Nikon D800 Camera not listed in the Lens Correction Filter under camera models in Photoshop CC 2014

I do not see a Nikon D 800 Camera listed in the Lens Correction Filter under camera models. Is there any way to update this ?

The lens distortion corrections are encoded in such a way that they are independent of the body of camera that they were determined with--in other words they are in terms of millimeters not pixels.  The only issue is that lens profiles computed on a crop-frame body can't reliably be applied for the same lens on a full-frame body because the lens profile from a crop-frame body won't cover the entire full-frame lens image circle.
So as you're looking for a lens profile just make sure you're using a full-frame one if you have a full-frame or crop-frame camera, and don't try to use a crop-frame one on a full-frame camera.  I'd expect Adobe only computes crop-frame profiles for crop-frame lenses, and uses full-frame camera bodies on full frame lenses, so there shouldn't be a problem.

  • Supported lens corrections profile not listed in Lightroom 3.2

I have installed the Lightroom 3.2 update, which lists support for the "Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II" lens.  I've shot a number of photos with this lens (using a Canon T1i) and loaded them into Lightroom.  In the metadata for the photos, the lens appears as "EF50mm f/1.8 II".
Within Lightroom's "Lens Corrections" section, the "Auto" option reports "Unable to locate a matching profile automatically."  I've manually searched the list of Canon lenses, and it's not on the list.
    In the folder
         /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CameraRaw/LensProfiles/1.0/Canon/
I see a file corresponding to this lens
         Canon EOS 5D Mark II (Canon EF 50mm f1.8 II) - RAW.lcp
but it's listed with only the one specific body.
I've tried manually installing the Camera Raw 6.2 update, but it reports "Update is not applicable."  Given the file listed above, I suspect it was already installed.
In the release notes, which listed Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lens, it didn't mention that support was limited to only a certain camera body.  Could someone please help me?  Thanks!

rather than the filename of the profile that I found.  As far as I can see, the release notes don't specify that it only applies to raw images.
I agree that the release notes could have been a clearer in terms of what was provided. I can also appreciate why the profiles for JPEG were not included, namely time constraints.
After converting the original raw images to JPEG it would have taken an hour or so to run the calibration images for these "new" profiles through the lens profile creator application. Following a number of requests I did this myself for the dozen or so profiles that I had already uploaded to the Adobe lens profile server. That was a days work for me, for the Adobe engineer(s) working on all of the new profiles it would  probably have taken a fair number of days/weeks.

  • How to edit in ACR when ICC profile not recognised?

    Hi everyone,
I am getting some of my photographic images made into a book by a large and reputable printer in HK.  They have just sent me their ICC profile and I've figured out how to do soft proofing in photoshop using the profile.
However, I do 99% of my images adjustments in camera raw, then only open the image in photoshop if I need to do something else camera raw can't do (rarely).
Is it correct that I won't be able to see how my photo will look when printed until I open the image in photoshop, after I've already done of my adjustments in camera raw, and meaning that I might have to do another round of changes in photoshop??
Is there any way for camera raw to load the ICC profile so I can see what it's going to look like while I'm making the adjustments in camera raw, not after they're already done??
    HELP!
    Thanks,
    Poppy

As I asked in the Photoshop Windows forum, what profile(s) have they sent you, along with what instruction?  A printer profile?  A document profile?  Both?
It may be that you'll want to work on your images in one of the standard document profiles (ProPhoto RGB, Adobe RGB, sRGB) then when you're ready to deliver images to the publisher you'll want to do a Convert to Profile operation.
But that's getting ahead of things.  You really haven't given quite enough information just yet.

  • "My Support Profile" does not list all my products

Why does "My Support Profile" not list my Macbook Pro but does list the iPod touch that came with it and the new iPad that was just bought?
    New to the community.

    https://supportprofile.apple.com/
Note that this is different from https://register.apple.com/ which seems to be a legacy registration page, and the difference between the two is unclear. I'd go with the former option if you're looking for more info about your purchases or to set up a repair.

  • Nikon P7700 not listed in the camera profile directory

Why is the Nikon P7700 not listed in the camera profile dirctory of Lightroom 4.2, and not selectable in calibration  menu?

Just to clarify again, what has already been stated.  There IS a calibration profile for your camera.  The name of that profile is Adobe Standard.  The only profiles that display are profiles for the specific model that took the picture.  Every camera that Adobe supports, even the digital SLR cameras, has an Adobe Standard profile.  That is the "standard" profile that Adobe created for the camera.  A camera will either be supported and have at least a profile with that name, or it will not be supported at all.
Asking when the other profiles will be provided is futile.  I can only guess, but the answer will probably be, never.  If you want to create additional profiles you can download the DNG Profile Creator and create your own.  But I suspect you are getting all that you're going to get from Adobe.  I have a Fuji camera, an older one, and I have three Adobe Standard profiles for it.  Two of them are designated with numbers corresponding to older versions of ACR/Lightroom.

  • New camera profile not "appearing" in ACR, but does in Lightroom

I recently created a camera profile for a Nikon D200, using an X-Rite Colorchecker chart photo and the Chart feature in the DNG Editor.  I exported the camera profile.  When I go to the Calibration tab in ACR 5.5, the new profile does not appear in the drop down list with the other camera profiles.  However, when I go to the Develop module in Lightroom 2.5, the new profile does appear in the drop down list there.
I am running Windows 7.  Snooping around my root drive I find that if I look within the Users\User Name\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles directory (referenced in the Fraser and Schewe CS4 Camera Raw book as the Vista location for the profiles) I can find no camera profiles and when I place the new profile there it still does not appear in ACR.  When I look in ProgramData\Adobe\CameraRaw\CameraProfiles\Camera\Nikon D200    directory I can see the regular set of camera profiles for the camera, as well as the one I created, but as I previously stated, the newly created profile does not appear in the ACR list.
A side note - I did some experimentation with camera profile names.  I added "XX" to the end of the Nikon Vivid profile name (not the extension), and then that profile no longer appears in the ACR list of profiles.  I removed the extra letters and then the profile reappears in the ACR list of profiles.  Seemed odd behavior to me.  I also noticed that the profile I created with DNG Editor is noticeably smaller than the others provided by Adobe (28K compared to 110k).
Hope someone has a suggestion for me.

Your reminder about both Photoshop (main) and Bridge needing to be shut down for changes to take effect reminded me that I had Bridge set to "auto-start at log-in".  So I checked and it was still running (shown with the other hidden icons).  When I "shut it down" from the UI I had thought it was fully terminated.  So I completely shut Bridge down, restarted, and the new profile now appears.
Thanks for the reminder/pointer in the right direction.

    What is N-OS?
For the camera raw problem, every new camera has its own raw format and ACR must be updated to include it. That hasn't happened yet for the D5500, so you'll just have to use the Nikon software till Adobe gets the info and releases an updated version of ACR. It's not unusual to be in your situation if you buy a camera model that's only been out a month. You just have to wait a bit.

I still use Aperture 2.1.4.  I need to export an image file with a CMYK profile.  Whereas a generic CMYK profile is listed in ColorSync Utility, it does not appear on the list of profiles in the edit portion of the export preset dialogue.  Help?  Is there some way to add the CMYK profile to the list of choices that are available in the export preset dialogue such that I can choose it?

Thanks for your response.  My profiles are located within color sync utility as you can see here:
These profiles do not respond to clicking and dragging.  Since they are all in one place, more or less, I'm reluctant to make further attempts to relocate them.  Accessing the CMYK profile is the first difficult experience I've encountered with this arrangement.  I have never needed the CMYK profile until recently, and that need has now past.  However, it remains a mystery to me as to why it does not appear with all the others on the menu of export choices in Aperture 2, or on the menu of profile assignment choices in the Preview application (where again all the other profiles are listed as choices).  I'm beginning to think my current set up will permit me to view an image that was created in CMYK space, but does not easily assign, or convert to that space.  I don't face these restrictions with all the others, so it remains a curious circumstance for me.  I anticipate upgrading my computer and software in the near future which might alleviate this issue altogether.  Again, many thanks for your attention to this matter.  The reach of this community is astounding.

Hi, I need to attach a value set to attribute12 which should not be the employee number, attribute12 of per_all_people_f and employee_number of a custom table and the number for the attribute12 should be the unique value.
    The steps i have followed
    1. created a table file_number to hold the numbers from 0000001....to...9999999
    2. created a view-file_number_v to have unique numbers as
    SELECT fn.file_number
    FROM file_number fn
    WHERE NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1
    FROM per_all_people_f pap1
    WHERE pap1.employee_number = fn.file_number)
    AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1
    FROM per_all_people_f pap2
    WHERE pap2.attribute12 = fn.file_number)
    AND NOT EXISTS (SELECT 1
    FROM table1 t1
    WHERE t1.employee_number = fn.file_number)
    3. Created a table validated value set based on the above view and attached it to the Attribute12 of the DFF
Its worked fine for new inputs, but when ever i try to requery the employee, hence the number is inserted in the attribute12 column of per_all_people_f table the value set validates and provides error message.
To avoid this i have used the following temp table query,
    (select file_number fn from file_number_v
    union all
    select attribute12 fn from per_all_people_f where attribute12 = :PERSON.ATTRIBUTE12:NULL) temp
I have used the above query as table in the valueset.
Now i have to get the person_id to use it on the above query to avoid the issue which i have mentioned in previous discussion.

  • Isight not listed under firewire in system profile

    hello all,
All of a sudden my isight is not listed under firewire in the system profile. I've tried restarting with it plugged in and with it not plugged in. The green light of the camera will come on for a few seconds then shuts off when i do plug it into a firewire port. I have tried both ports on the computer and it is the same thing with each. I use yahoo messenger and no camera is listed there anymore. I also have iglasses installed and it always worked great. I guess I need to know how to get the system to list it again!
Thanks in advance for any help!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions, Tim
Sorry Tony's good suggestion did not work for you.
    (1) You can try the other checks, including checks for things like bad cables or ports, from How to test your iSight to ensure it is functional. If you can, it will be particularly helpful to try your iSight on another Mac and try another iSight on your Mac.
    (2) Click the highlighted items in System Profiler as follows to check for iSight:
If your iSight is still not recognized in System Profiler, try the suggestions in Apple's What to do if your computer won't recognize a FireWire device article.
    (3) If you can get your external iSight recognized as a Firewire device in System Profiler but your iSight is still not working, you should next try all relevant suggestions from Apple's How to Troubleshoot iSight.
Be sure to include the checks for whether the problem is "application-specific" and "user-specific". Click here if you need help creating a new user account to check whether your problem is "user-specific" during Troubleshooting.

  • L3 Cache disabled, non-functional or not listed in system profiler?

I have a 15" 1 ghz powerbook G4 titanium, and for as long as I can remember, the 1 MB L3 Cache it's supposed to have is not listed in the system profiler. It fails the power-on self test in OS 9, as well as the Apple Hardware test CD. IS there any way of investigating this? The machine seems to run okay, but i'm sure it's hindering the performance of it somehow...

    Hi Les,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
As far as "investigating" goes, you've done all you need to; three separate sources all indicating the same L3 failure is pretty solid evidence.
I'm sure you're correct that it affects performance; unfortunately, cache is soldered onto the logic board, so beyond replacing the logic board, there's nothing you can do. If you've lived with it this long, I'd continue to live with it and put the LB replacement money toward your next machine.

  • PRINTER PROFILE WHY IS MY PRINTER NOT LISTED AND HOW CAN I ADD

I have just installed Lightroom 5 and went to set up profile of printer and my epson stylus pro 4900 is not listed.  How can I add

Lightroom does not show a full list of all the profiles present in the computer. This would be unmanageably long, including a lot of irrelevant choices.
The user customises what is seen.
In the Print Job / Color Management section of the Print module, is a "Profile" selector. The lowest item in the menu that opens when you click on this, is "Other..."
Selecting this opens a new dialog, listing all the color management profiles that the OS currently knows about. Putting a check next to any printing output profile, makes that appear in the LR profiles "shortlist" hereafter. This would usually state a specific paper type, for a specific printer (and inkset if nonstandard).
AFAICT the exact same "shortlist" appears in softproofing too - in that case, AdobeRGB and sRGB are automatically offered as well.

  • LR1.3 - new ICCs not showing up in Custom Profile popup list

I've copied some new ICC files into the /Library/ColorSync/Profiles directory (on an IMac OS 10.4.11), but when I try to choose one, they are not in the Custom Profile popup list. I have tried renaming an existing one that was showing up and the old name shows up in the popup list, even after a re-boot.
Is there a separate process to help LR "see" the ICCs I've added to the Profiles directory?

1st: Upgrade to 1.4.1. It's free and far better.
Lightroom does not recognize CMYK printer profiles, only RGB ones, so that could be your problem. The name you see in the popup is not the filename but is taken from data internal to the file.
