ACR7 in CS6 and synchronising adjustments

Hope this is the right place for this question.  I use Bridge to open my images in ACR and then do my global edits to create xmp recipes for later batch processing of images via Photoshop.  Part of this process involves applying local adjustments like gradients to multiple images.  I'm currently processing batches of images in this manner and I see the synchronisation system is differently applied on CS6 to CS5.  In CS5, O could just higjlight a few images within the ACR window and apply a local adjustment which would then be automatically applied to all (not the gradient but simple things like shadows and highlights).  That doesn't seem to apply in CS6 where I have to go to synchronise and select them.
The more annoying problem though is that if I do this for the local adjustments like gradient, ACR doesn't apply the same gradient settings.  I applies a gradient, but NOT the settings such as highlights and shadows used in the original change.  I have to them all one-by-one.
Is this common, or is it just something that I have on my setup?  Hope I've explained this well enough.

Actually, it's not all that clear is it?  Okay, so I have say 6 similar images and I want to add a gradient to the sky which reduces the highlights.  I select all six images and open them out of Bridge into ACR.  I select all in ACR, and then apply the gradient tool to the image in the preview window.  I fiddle with the settings until I get it looking nice.  I then go to the Synchronise button on the ACR window and up pops the dialogue bow where I select Local Adjustments.  Now when I look at each of the images, I see it has a gradient applied, but they don't look the same, so I click on the gradient in each of those imagers and I can see that none of the settings entered into the first gradient have transferred across to the rest.  Why is that?
