Acrobat 10.1.8 add-ons marked as incompatible with Windows 8.1

When I updated to Windows 8.1 (IE 11), I lost my Acrobat toolbar. The Adobe add-ons were declared "incompatible" in IE. I am using Acrobat 10.1.8. Is Adobe aware of this problem and working on a fix?

Problem was solved!!! I had the same problem with one of Norton Internet Security's add-on, so I contacted Symantec (Norton) using their live chat session. The tech took remote control of my computer, and within a few minutes, he solved the Norton problem. He also solved my Adobe toolbar problem in the process!! All he did was to go into IE Internet Options, and under the ADVANCED tab, he cleared the checkmark next to "Enable Enhanced Protected Mode". This is different from the "Enable Protected Mode" which is listed under the SECURITY tab (which is what I had tried to do unsuccessfully). After applying the change, and restarting IE, the Adobe add-ons were listed as "Disabled", instead of "incompatible". Selecting the add-ons, and pressing "Enable", brought the toolbar back.

    It should still be compatible.  Have you tried plugging it into a different USB port using a different cable to see if that helps?  Perhaps, try it another computer as well to see if it's recognized there.
    Otherwise, start by checking to see if it's even recognized in Device Manager.  See this article for details.

    Maybe if you read about privacy, policy and sharing of data you'd change your mind. But it was reported that it appeared to work if you used something like the "Add-ons Compatibility Reporter".
    You can force 5.0 "compatibility" with the "[https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/add-on-compatibility-reporter/ Add-on Compatibility Reporter]" extension, or with [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Extensions.checkCompatibility extensions.checkCompatibility] using about:addons.

  • Some of my add-ons "return" to incompatible(oudated) after i reboot my system

    I can successfully update those add-ons, and get them to work after restarting firefox. However, every time after I reboot my system, those add-ons return to their old states - incompatible

    Did you ever make changes to prefs to force an extension installation?
    If Firefox isn't able to do a compatibility update then you can't install extensions that fail because of the maxVersion in the install.rdf being wrong and that need such a check to install.

  • Add-ons that work fine with FF3.6.13 in 1 WinXP SP3 computer don't work in this same model machine.

    Among the installed add-ins are Ghostery, Google Shortcuts, IE Tab Plus, InformEnter, Lazarus, NoScript, and ZoneAlarm Toolbar. In the other machine, most of those put icons on the status bar; here only the last does (although I told others to). I assume the "problem" is with Firefox, not the individual add-ons.
    Also (related?) all of the tabs are very small, showing only icons except when the mouse hovers over them.

    1-8 & 10-11 were N/A or already OK. 9 MAY have been the right answer. Here's why "MAY":
    I closed Firefox, then zipped & deleted the 3 listed files. When I restarted Firefox, this message popped up:
    "Firefox has a built-in session restore feature. Would you like to enable built-in session restore and disable the Tab Mix Plus Session Manager?"
    I chose Yes. When Firefox came back up, the add-ons' status bar icons and other indicia returned. I assume that corrupt config. files was the correct diagnosis, but thought I should mention the other possibility.

    Kindly help with the error message you get while you launch Acrobat also, try installing the latest update of Acrobat 10 pro form the link mentioned below.

  • Adobe acrobat version 6.0 incompatible with Windows 7?

    I am trying to download Adobe Acrobat 6.0 standard, and I am getting an error message that it is incompatible with my Windows 7 laptop.  Is there a way around this, or do I simply need to upgrade to a later version of Adobe Acrobat?  If so, which later version(s) do you recommend?

    The only version you can buy today is XI (11.0).

    For example, I can't stream videos on Netflix anymore, because it says the browser is incompatible.   • I asked this Q Aug 20; confirmed account. Firefox crashed again at 8:44 pm: Using Firefox 6. 0 None of crash articles apply. Disabled Java add-ons as I'm using Windows 2000 and all updates are for XP. Adobe no longer supports Windows 2000.

    The crash happens when I close Firefox. There is no dump report so I can't give a Crash ID.
    Firefox started crashing after I upgraded to 6.0 so I wonder if I should go back to the earlier version.

  • After having to wipe and reinstall back up, using Yosemite, I lost several email folders and add-ons, new add-ons have download "save to" window not install now

    I installed Yosemite but it didn't go right, had to get Apple techs to help wipe and reinstall. Migrated apps and files from time machine backup. Thunderbird did work before things got bad enough I had to do something about Yosemite install problem.
    Thunderbird lost several folders I sort mail into, and all but one extension. I tried reloading Thunderbird app support from older back up, nothing changed. I re-downloaded and installed Thunderbird. No change.
    New extensions show download window with "save as" or "open with options", not the normal install button.

    There may be one or more large folders in your /Volumes folder that shouldn't be there and are using up your disk space.
    /Volumes is an 'invisible" folder at the root level of your internal drive which is supposed to contain only the "mount points" for your attached disk volumes, but sometimes an actual folder can mistakenly get created there, often as a result of a failed copy operation such as you experienced with SuperDuper. Such a "ghost" folder will have a name similar to a real external drive, and can contain data that was meant for the real external drive but never got there. When the real external volume then re-mounts, it can no longer use its own name for the mount point in /Volumes because that name is already "taken", and so an extra number gets appended to the mount point. This may have happened twice in your situation, since the actual drive is now mounting as "Untitled 2".
    /Volumes is a hidden folder, but it's easy to peek into it. First you should *eject and then physically disconnect all external drives*. Then:
    Finder>Go menu> Go to Folder
    enter /Volumes and click Go
    You should see an alias to the startup volume. Don't touch this, or any other aliases. Do you also see a large folder named "Untitled, and perhaps another folder named "Untitled 1," which are not aliases? If so, delete them, and restart.

    I am guessing major security suites will maintain compatibility with current Firefox versions, but any ancillary toolbars etc may not work. I know Kasperski and Norton have just updated to be compatible with Firefox 6.
    It appears Webroot's SpySweeper does work, or has been implicated in Firefox problems see [[Warning Unresponsive script]] and a quick [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/search?q=webroot search] of the forum lists many posts & seems to suggests Webroot is not working with Firefox.
