Acrobat 11.0.07 will randomly crash when attempting to add document number to bottom of document.
The application randomly crashes when I try to add a document number to the bottom of a pdf document that was scanned on another machine. It is inconsistent but my only work around right now is to try and get the document number on the first page, then save the file to the new file name. Then I close the document, and reopen it to try and get the document number on the remaining pages of the document. About 50% of the time Acrobat will still crash when I am doing this. It has gone from being a 30 second process to a 5 minute process.
Varinder,
I have created a test document consisting of 2 simple pages. It originated as a word document with a jpg and a word table on the first page, and text and an Excel table on the second page.
It converted to pdf fine initially. Then on saving the first line of text box added, Acrobat crashed. It did save the information however. I opened it back up, and went to add the second line of text in the same text box on the first page and again it crashed, but before I could hit the save button. After that all additional text added in text box on page one, and additional of another text box on page two had no problems. The file is attached.
I am concerned that there is some setting I am missing to be able to read files from older versions of Acrobat, but that gets less likely as I open pdf files from 3 years ago and they appear to be fine. We are using Acrobat 9, 10, and now my 11 here. I am of the assumption that I should not be having any problems reading any of these.
Attaching file.
Thank You,
Curt

Print Utility crashes when attempting to add printer connected to an XP box
Hello, I am able to connect to the shared folders on the XP box and the XP box is able to connect to my Mac, but when I try to add the printer to my Mac that is connected to the XP box, Print Utility hangs.
This is how far I get:
1. Add printer
2. Select Windows Printing
3. Select the XP box
4. Enter Username and Password <- crashes after I press ok
4a. Sometimes returns "Unable to connect to server with the provided password and username. Error 256."
4b. I'm positive I've entered the correct Windows username - it's the name and password for when you have to log in, right?
I'm running 10.4.8On your Windows machine locate your printer icon. Right-click it to open the contextual menu and select Properties. You should see a Security tab. Is the "Everyone" group listed? If not try adding it and allow "Everyone" to print.
Hope this helps! bill

Acrobat X 10.02 crashes when converting Word 2007 document wiht linked Visio file.
Acrobat X 10.02 crashes when converting Word 2007 document with linked Visio file and causes a C++ runtime error in Word and crashes Word.
To see the behavior create a short Word 2007 document with a linked Visio file (e.g., create a Visio file with one box and text and insert it as a link into a Word docx).
No problem in Acrobat 9There may be some of an issue with AA X on this, but part of the blame probably goes to MS also. I would suggest you simply clip the graphic from VISIO as a vector graphic (EMF will be used by default) and not do the link and do not embed the VISIO object. The linking and use of embedded objects in WORD 2007 seems to have been a major problem and is mostly a MS issue.

Acrobat 9.4.4 Pro Crashes When Attempting to Open PDF Form
OS: Win XP Pro SP3
The machine worked fine until Acrobat updated itself to 9.4.4 then the problem started. Crashes when attempting to open most PDF Forms - even when freshly rebooted or repaired. I originally thought it was related to a browser or Outlook 2007, but later found that it does it under all circumstances. It is my General Manager's machine having the problem, so I need to get this resolved ASAP. Your experience and assistance is much appreciated.
My temporary fix was to uninstall 9.4.4 - Install 9.0 and turn off automatic updates - worked beautifully. It would be nice to get to the bottom of this so we can update our CS4 products.
Another user reported this problem on May 16, 2011 and no one has replied to his post.
Thanks in advance.Please repost in the Acrobat Windows forum.

When I plug in my Lacie Firewire 800 drive into my Mid-2009 Macbook Pro running Mountain Lion - 10.8.2, it causes certain apps to crash. Chrome will immediately crash when I open it, so will DVD player. It's only when I plug in my Firewire 800 drive, USB does not cause issues. What's the deal?
I've restarted, verfied the disk, repaired permissions, smc reset.. don't know what else to do..Contact Lacie since it's their product you are having issues with.

MBP Randomly Crashes when no Power
Title says it all, but yeah, I'll be on my laptop, doing whatever, and it will randomly crash and not boot up, like theres no battery left. I hook it back up to the power supply and it works again. If i unplug it again, it will last a little longer and then crash randomly. This usually starts to happen around 50% battery life.
I checked my console log, and I get a similar message to the following every time it crashes:
Jul 8 02:55:47 xxxx-xx-computer BatteryUpdater[198]: Battery is already up-to-date with BatteryUpdater v 1.2
Was hoping someone could provide a little background on what might be going on.
Thanks for the help{:
MBP Mac OS X (10.4.10)First, check the serial number on your your battery and consult these websites:

If this is not the case, call Apple. This is not a normal behaviour. -
Livecycle Designer ES 8.2 Crashing When Trying to Add Elements
I've created a form and hit a roadblock.
The form is 17 pages long and contains 151 elements.
When attempting to add another element the application shows not responding and then eventually crashes. Worse yet, it corrupts the PDF. The byte count for the file goes from around 280KB to 0KB. When I attempt to open the file using LC after recovering from the crash, the file is blank (obviously).
After restoring the files from tape, I attempted to work-around this issue by splitting the form into separate smaller parts and then combining the parts in Acrobat Pro, but the add more pages features is grayed out and I can combine the PDFs.
This is extremely frustrating and hugely limits my ability to create forms.
PC Specs:
Intel Xeon 1.86GHz
4GB RAM
Windows XP Pro SP3 32-bit
...just in case someone says it's a machine issue.
Here's the file: <removed>
UPDATE **** UPDATE **** UPDATE
After speaking with one of my developers, we discovered that there is a horrible bug which loops a tag in the XML.
Here is the start of the problem:
<field name="DropDownList1" y="9.525mm" x="3.175mm" w="62mm" h="9mm">
<ui>
<choiceList>
<border>
<?templateDesigner StyleID aped3?>
The <?templateDesigner StyleID aped3?> tag then runs on for around 800,000 lines of code.
This apparently is a well known issue. You can read more about the problem and the fix here:
http://acrobatusers.com/forum/forms-livecycle-designer/potential-bugs-livecycle-designer-s cript-editor-crashes-lcd
I opened the file in Textpad and deleted the tag and all its brethren.
Adobe: Is there a patch for this?Hi,<br />I have had the same problem occur again. This time I looked at the files inside the 8.2 subdirectory to see if I could find the speciic one that is behind this problem. Look inside the following path,<br /><br />C:\Documents and Settings\<your ID>\Application Data\Adobe\Designer\8.2<br /><br />find the LinguisticOptions.xml and the InspectorEN178.xml.<br />One of these or both are getting corrupted. When I delete them the program works again. It might be a good idea to back these up if you want to keep your preferences. You can then drop these back into this subdirectory when they become corrupted again. That way you do not have to delete them completely.<br />I hope adobe will fix this problem for good.<br /><br />Steve

Firefox crashes when opening "Extras Add-ons"
Firefox crashes when opening "Extras>Add-ons" (German user interface - I don't know what the according menu points are labeled in English).
The crash seems to be so severe that no crash ID is created. On every restart after a crash Firefox 4 is in offline mode and has to be switched back to online mode. If needed I could provide a screenshot of the error message shown when firefox crashes.
There were no problems on this machine running firefox 3.xx. The problems occurred after upgrading from firefox 3.6x to firefox 4.Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of your add-ons is causing your problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).<br />
See [[Troubleshooting extensions and themes]] and [[Troubleshooting plugins]]<br />
<br />
If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all your extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.<br />
You can use "Disable all add-ons" on the [[Safe mode]] start window to disable all extensions.<br />
You have to close and restart Firefox after each change via "File > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit"; Linux: "File > Quit") -
Lightroom 6 crashes when attempting to import from camera.
Never had a problem importing from same camera using LR 5.7. LR 6 crashes when attempting to import from camera.
Actually I have found out that it's not related to importing, but to face recognition being turned on (which I had just done shortly before I started the import).
See here for more details: Re: Lightroom 6.0.1 standalone always crashes less than a minute after start -
Adobe Standard 9.1.0 crashes when attempting create .pdf from scanner
Adobe Standard 9.1.0 crashes when attempting "create .pdf from scanner" from a Kyocera Mita KM-2550 using the twain driver. The error encountered is 0xc0000005 at address 0x0000000002d78e70. I have downloaded and installed the latest updates. This is happening on two new PCs with the same configuration. Is anyone else having this problem? Any suggestions?
Spent quite a while on this one.. My problem was related to twain drivers which reside in c:\windows\twain_32. I'm running windows 7 64-bit. First it's usually possible to scan in windows 7 maybe vista and from adobe without even using twain (using WIA). So try renaming the twain_32 folder to _twain_32 and see what happens... If that stops the crashing look at the contents of the twain folder. I had a Dell folder for some printer I wasn't even using. That was causing the crash. I removed the dell folder and renamed the twain folder back to twain_32. Now everything works as designed.

ITunes crashes when attempting to play purchased tracks
Hoping someone can help me here. iTunes crashes when attempting to play tracks purchased from the iTunes store. Music imported from CDs still plays fine. They have played preiously but not since downloading and installing 7.0.2.16. QuickTime is up to date and I only have 1 PC authorised. Help!
Dell Dimension 5100 Windows XP ProThere's another thread on here that suggested re-installing iTunes. That works for me (in that the videos play), but I have to re-install iTunes every time I want to watch them which is a pain. So if anyone has a more permanent fix...

Just updated to iOS 8.2. Settings app still crashes when attempting to manage music storage.
Thanks for your reply. Any suggestions for ways to fix this? If I've already updated using my phone, am I just screwed?

If I change my number and forget to give to some people. What message will they receive when they text my old number? Thank you!
more than likely they will never know the text did not go through. If the number was assigned to someone else they will get your text message. I did this last week and the person texted me back asking who I was. I responded and apologized and they said no problem.

Preview hangs when attempting to print documents....
Since upgrading to Lion. Preview hangs when attempting to print documents....
Will not even open the print dialog window and results in having to use Force Quit to Exit. Anyone experiencing the same? Any ideas?Just notices the other threads actually. Interesting about the Canon print drivers, as I do have UFRII Canon drivers loaded. I have a number of different Printers, including Lexmark, HP Plotters and Canon.
The hang log doesn't come up after the crash. But I think this the Entry in Console relating to the last time it went down:

SharePoint Online switching to mobile view when attempting to add user permissions
Hello,
I am having a very weird problem that just started out of no where. It happens when I go to the Site Settings of my site collection and click on Site Permissions. When I click Grant Permissions to try to add users, the browser will immediately switch to
the mobile view.
I am able to switch back to the regular browser view, then when I click Grant Permissions, the box to select the user opens. I then choose the user and click Share. After clicking Share, the popup immediately goes to the mobile view. When I exit that the
users were never granted permissions.
This only happens so far when I am trying to add permissions. Is there something that I could have messed up?
What is happening and how can I fix this? I am out of ideas and unable to add permissions for users. I do not want to have to blow this site collection away.
Thanks.Hi Andy,
According to your description, my understanding is that the page would switch to mobile view when attempting to add user permissions in SharePoint Online.
I recommend to verify the things below:
Clear the caches in browser to see if the issue still occurs.
Test the same scenario in another computer to see if the issue still occurs.
Append mobile=0 to the URLs in SharePoint Online.
In the meanwhile, you can post your question to the forum for SharePoint Online: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/msonline/en-US/home?forum=onlineservicessharepoint.
More experts will assist you, then you will get more information relation to SharePoint Online.
Best regards.
Thanks
