Acrobat 6.0 - encrypting for certain identities using certificates

Can someone help me.
I am attempting to restrict opening and editing to certain identites a document using certificates.
1st I created a digital ID for myself with a password to be able to get at the document. This works well as I can open the document with the password and others I send this to cannot open the document.
Next I requested a certificate from the other user so that I could set them as a trusted identity. This worked OK as I was able to send the request per the adobe help. They were able to respond and sent me a certificate that apparently they created from a Reader (I do not think they have acrobat).
I was then able to import the requested certificate from email; however, I am not able to add the certificate to my list of trusted identities for encryption. Is there something I am doing wrong? Can someone please advise? This person did have outlook on their computer, so the process was pretty simple. Another test with AOL was not so simple and I am not able to load the certificate at all.
Any input/direction would be appreciated.

Did you check for updates from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Macintosh? You can download updates to Acrobat there. You should generally install the updates in order unless indicated otherwise.
However, it may be that what is being sent to Distiller is the problem, not Distiller itself. What is the error message? How are you creating the input for Distiller? I am not quite sure about the steps on a MAC since I use a PC, but at least these questions should help track down the problem. If you can post the full text of the error (or a screen shot), it would help.

I work for an organization that has deployed Lync 2013 throughout the enterprise.
We have no need for “Data at Rest” encryption on the servers or clients at this time, but we do have a customer requirement for FIPS 140-2 encryption for “Data in Transit”? Does Lync provide data in transit encryption utilizing one of the National

Looking for way to use certificate attributes in Authorization policy

does any one know how to use certificate attributes in authorization policy when I authenticate with PEAP ??
is it only working when I authenticate with EAP-TLS ??
is there any way to use these attributes with peap ??
Also, what are ways to distinguish corp asset as priavate asset without using certificate ??

Hi,
Peap authentication is a password based authentication protocol, eap-tls is when a client uses a certificate for authentication. So there is not a way to validate cert attributes since the client doesnt send one for PEAP.
You can use machine authentication to validate the corporate asset and rely on the microsoft login process to validate the user account. You can also consider NAM supplicant to perform eap chaining (sends both machine and user authentication and is only supported by ISE as your radius server at this point).

Is it possible to specify certain USB removable devices to not be Bitlocker encrypted? Example - A GPS so the user can do updates. I didn't see any way to do this via policy.

No, the reason is this, bitlocker is not going to make any difference between the devices based upon the hardware ID; it only takes the class of the device while applying the policies.

I am trying to encrypt a file using the certificate uploaded through STRUST. But while encrypting I am getting an error, "SSF_API_UNKNOWN_SECTK_ERROR".
I am using the program SSF01.

Have you properly setup SAP Cryptographic Library on the Application Server? How was the certificate created which you imported into STRUST? See SAP note 662340 for setting up SSF encryption. SAP note 800240 might help you troubleshoot the problems you are having.

Remote restart for a Mac using FileVault 2 encryption?

Does anyone know of a way to perform a remote restart for a Mac using FileVault 2 encryption? I have some remote Macs for which I'd like to enable full disk encryption with FileVault, but would prefer not to make a physical trip to those machines whenever they need a reboot. I strongly suspect the answer to this question is "No", without some form of IP KVM, but I figured I'd double-check. If anyone knows of any reasonably priced Mac-compatible KVMs that would be great too. Thanks.

You have the upgrade serial number for Acrobat 9that is why it is asking the previous qualifying serial number, I am sending you the serial number of Acrobat 6 & 7 by private messaging, you can your self find them by using Find your serial number quickly

If you are familar with the PDF Optimizer and how to go to it, open PDF Optimizer.
First images for a website should never be more than 150dpi.
Go to images and set, for DPI 150 for color images Grayscale and Monochrome.
Next open fonts in optimizer and look for duplicate fonts.
example:
Ariel
Ariel Bold
Ariel Bold
Ariel Italic
Courier New Bold
remove the duplicate Ariel Bold.
Many times there are 5-10 instances or more of the same Font/Font style.
Remove all duplicates.
Save as a new file you never want to save over your original in case what you end up with doesn't turn out.

Anyone using SecureDoc Full-Disk Encryption for Mac from WinMagic?

Currently I am using Mac OS X v10.5 on a MBP and want to upgrade to Snow Leopard. I use PGP full disk encryption.
I do not want to wait anymore for PGP v10 before I can upgrade to Snow Leopard. In my search for a replacement for PGP I found SecureDoc Full-Disk Encryption for Mac from WinMagic.

I have two questions:
1) Does anyone have experience with SecureDoc Full-Disk Encryption for Mac from WinMagic?
2) Where can I buy one? PGP has a store where I ordered my copy of the software. But I can't find a store anywhere for SecureDoc. With some trouble I found a reseller in the Netherlands, but they don't reply to any questions.

The company where I work is a Checkpoint reseller, and normally only has dealings with other companies, not end users. But we arranged a trial license and I can buy a single user license Checkpoint Full Disk Encryption if the test proves Checkpoint Full Disk Encryption is a good solution.
I created a bootable usb disk with Snow Lepoard on it. But I was unable to install FDE on it. After reboot I only get a blank screen, that's it. Probably it isn't supported to boot from a full disk encrypted removable drive, I can understand that.
I can't create a virtual Snow Leopard machine (legal reasons) to test it on. And all FDE solutions I found aren't compatible with Mac Server, which is a shame because you can virtualize Mac Server legally.
So now I am planning to change the hard-disk of my MBP this evening with another hard-disk to test Checkpoint FDE there. I don't want to upgrade my current Leopard installation to Snow Leopard only to discover it doesn't work as expected. I could of-course use my current installation and when it doesn't work rollback to a timemachine backup, but before that I have to decrypt my disk and uninstall PGP witch will take 1-2 days, and encrypt again when the test is over. Not pratical.
I will let you know how the test with Checkpoint Full Disk Encryption went!

You can't delete the address, but you can set up a Rule to move messages to that address to the Trash or another folder. Go to http://icloud.com and go to the Mail page, click the cogwheel icon at top right and choose 'Rules'.
It's a bad idea to post your email address - it's an invitation to spam - even though in fact you haven't posted them in full; I've asked the hosts to remove them.

When I tried to download it, I was told I didn't have the proper system requirements - I don't even know what I have, or what I was missing. Generally I agree, but there is a chance it will work. If you are talking about a 64-bit system, the likelihood of problems is substantially higher. The simplest way to find out is try it (assuming you have already purchased Win8 system. You will likely have to update to at least 8.1 to have it work. However, Adobe will not provide support for problems you run into, though folks here might try to offer solutions. I have not heard anyone try it yet. Several were successful with Win7, though I only heard of 2 with Win7, 64-bit who claimed success.
However, you might find that AA XI provides better performance (assuming you do get AA 8 to work) and you probably should consider the upgrade.
