Acrobat 6.0 Professional Install Error

Hello,
I just did a fresh install of Windows XP Home Edition, and when I attempted to reinstall Acrobat 6.0 Professional I received the following error message approximately 85-90% into the install process: "Internal error 2753. Dist_acrodist.exe"
Does anyone know what this error is and how I can overcome it and get Acrobat reinstalled?
Many thanks!
Scott

Scott,
Did you ever get past the error? If so, how? I'm getting the same error on reinstall.

  • Acrobat 9.0 Professional Runtime Error

    Hi There
I'm an IT support analyst at a large college trying to resolve this current issue with Acrobat 9.0 Professional
I have installed it on two machines on campus and i can't even get the program to load......... everytime the user click's on the icon it flags up with a "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Error"
Flags it up as the acrobat.exe which has the issue, when you look into the issue more it informs me saying their is an error with a specific .dll file "MSVCR80.dll". The current AppVer is 9.0.0.332 and ModVer 8.0.50727.4053. I have had a look on the forums to see if anyone else is getting an error like this and i cant seem to find anything in relation to this issue.
I have checked security permission's, cleared the users local profiles, rebuilt the machines and reinstalled it but keeps flagging up with the same issue. I dont know if anyone knows of this error or knows of a solution on how to get this resolved but any feedback at all would be grateful.
    Regards
    Mike

    Thanks for that SimonATS
Had a look and have resolved the issue thanks to your post, I ran adobe under an admin account (which allows access due to allowing permissions on top level) ran the updates under the "Help" tab and upgraded it to 9.2, then ran perfect !
If anyone else experiences this issue would suggest running updates, but if you cant run the program full stop ! would suggest SimonATS suggestion, that will get you back up and running

  • Adobe acrobat 7.0 professional installed on windows 8

With the assistance of Adobe Chat I have downloaded adobe acrobat 7.0 professional to my desktop which has windows 8. Everything works beautifully except when I go on to internet explorer and try to view a pdf document. It says "This page can't be displayed". I'm sure it is just a setting somewhere, can anyone help me? Thank you, Don.

Yes, I successfully installed Acrobat 7.0 professional on Windows 8. I’m now able to create pdf files on my Microsoft Office Suit (Word & Excel) and anytime I need to add/extract pages, etc. in these pdf files I’m able to use 7.0. My only problem was opening pdf’s on my internet explorer. I downloaded the latest version of Adobe reader and now everything works great (for my needs). I now have the choice of opening my pdf files (In “Documents”) in either 7.0 or reader, depending if I want to just read the document or work with it. I have no need to create pdf files with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 because saving documents in pdf format is a built-in feature of my Microsoft Office suit software (which is great)

  • Acrobat 7.0 professional install

when installing in the activation server unavailable there is  no Acrobat 7.0 Professional, only Standard how should I proceed withinstallation?

You can install Acrobat 7 from within the Creative Suite 2 installation I believe.

  • Acrobat Pro won't install: Error 1402: Could not open key on install attempt

I've been stuck in install hell for the past week. Here's my issue: I have Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Premium and want to install it on a PC running MS Vista, but when I attempt an install, I cannot install Adobe Acrobat 8.
Reading the event viewer, I get the following type error:
Product: Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional -- Error 1402. Could not open key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Classes\CLSID\{8AD0743E-113B-4E26-BA21-1E9A71098F41}\InprocSe rver32. System error 5. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.
Here's the problem: I'm basically playing whack-a-mole. Each time I go into regedit to change the registry permission for the named folder and attempt to install again, I get a new error saying that the Adobe install software could not open some other key. Each install attempt takes 15-20 min, and I must have done this 20+ times over the past week.
I've done all the obvious things like uninstalling everything Adobe (including my browsers Flash plug-in), running the CS3Clean software, running Vista in selective start-up, running setup as an administrator, barking at the moon, ect.
All the affected permission issues some to reside in the CLSID folder, but there is no way for me to set the permissions there and have them apply to all the subfolders without getting some sort of "whatever, we do what we want" error.
I'm at my wits end here. I've posted this to the Adobe customer support page, and four days after the supposed 25 hour turn-around, I still have yet to hear from Adobe. Any help would certainly be appreciated.

i suggest a best way to solve this maan,
    follow this,
create a new administrator user on your xp,
log off current user n log on to new admin user,
    install yr program,
    and
log off this admin user n log on to previous user,
n continue to use yr installed program
    tahts it

I beg for help...  I am trying to launch my Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Pro application and am now receiving a runtime error message.  It says, "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library.  Program C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat\Acrobat 7.0\Acrobat\Acrobate.exe."  Then it crashes on me...  It was fine yesterday, now today, not loading.  I've uninstalled and reinstalled.  I always install to My Documents.
    Please help... Thank you.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard 9.5 Install Error:  "Error applying transforms please ensure specified transform paths are valid".  Any ideas on how to fix this?

I had Acrobat Standard 9.5 on a laptop that broke.  Adobe Acrobat Standard is paid for and all I need. I had to get a new PC (Windows 8.1) and I did downloaded Standard 9.5 but when I went to install it the installer gave me an “Error applying transforms please ensure specified transform paths are valid”.  Any ideas on how to fix this?

    Rahul,
No error numbers other than the message I mentioned previously.
I tried the transforms repair and it reported no Acrobat product (correct, none yet installed) or no administrative privileges (I am the administrator and have done previous administrative actions).
When I unzip the Acrobat file this is what is in the setup ini file:
    [Startup]

    RequireIE=6.0.2600.0

  • Acrobat Pro 7, Re-install Error 1327

Have LapTop Win XP with Acrobat Pro installed for years. Recently program disappeared and attempts to re-install fail  with Error Message 1327 (cannot access Documents & Settings/All Users/Documents to create Adobe folder?
Message says i no longer have access to Documents folder, even though i am Administrator?

Back with AA7, I think you had to be the actual Administrator, not someone with administrator rights. That might be the issue. Also, you may need to disable anti-virus.

  • I have Acrobat 7.0 Professional loaded on Windows 7; No Printer & error msgs

I have Adobe Acrobate 7.0 Professional, loaded onto a new Dell Inspiron N5010 clone where I have Windows 7. I installed the Acrobat successfully, but the virtual printer does not show up as an available printer in my Devices & Printers.  Also when I click on the desktop icon for Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional, I get these error messages:   There was an error while loading the plug-in 'Accessibility.api'. The plug-in failed to initialize.  Then when I click on the OK button, I get another pop-up window saying:  There was an error while loading the plug-in 'AcroForm.api'.  The plug-in failed to initialize.  Then when I click on the OK button, I get a final pop-up window saying: There was an error while loading the plug-in Annots.api. The plug-in failed to initialize.  Anybody ever get this set of issues???, and if so....Help!  I would be ever so grateful.  I am worried that Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional is incompatible with Windows 7.  I know that if so, it might mean I need to buy 9.0.  Can I just upgrade?  Is that less costly?  Many thanks to anyone who can offer some advice.  ---DMN

Further to this original post ---  OK, I uninstalled and then reinstalled the program, to no avail.  I did however get a message which I had gotten before but since I was not yet aware that the program got installed with any problems, I had not noticed... This time I took notice.  The error message was clearly what it is about, at least to a great extent.  I got this message:  Warning 20225: Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Setup was unable to create a new item:  Adobe PDF Port Printer may be unavailable.  GetLastError:  The operation completed successfully.  So then after the reinstallation, I went into Control Panel, Printers & Drivers and made a valiant attempt to manually install a virtual printer port.  I have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional installed in another computer on which I have Windows XP Pro (yes the only other computer--  I am permitted two installations for this program--  I confirmed this with Adobe), by looking at Properties and copying down exactly the text, etc. which described the names of the two possible ports, etc.  Tried to "tell" my new computer (the one which has Windows 7) that it should set up and/or look for such a virtual port, again to no avail.  I am amazed that Adobe does not allow me to even pay cash money for tech support, but they wouldn't do it.  I guess you can have just so many employees who know the programs, etc.  Anyway, as I said before I may just break down and buy the 9.0 version which the Adobe techie told me is indeed compatable with Windows 7.  He did not tell me that Windows 7 was incompatible with Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional but that 8.0 is indeed incompatible.  Just googled the term "Warning 20225" along with some relevant buzz words.  I can see there is still a bit of tweaking I may be able to do before I cry "uncle!"
