Acrobat 6.0 Professional will not open

When I try to open a document with Acrobat 6.0, I get a message that says: "The currently selected language resources are not supported by the current version of Adobe Acrobat. Please reselect the language in the International System Preferences panel."
I did that and it still does not open. Any suggestions?

Dear Sir/Madam,
Good Day to you!
I giving you one good pdf link for your solution. I hope you can get help with my mentioned link.

  • Adobe acrobat x pro suddenly will not open in windows 8

Adobe Acrobat X Pro has been working fine. It suddenly stopped opening at all. It will not open any pdf documents, and the program itself will not open

    Hi 4blake4,
I am sorry that you are experiencing this issue.
Is there any error message or any error code once you launch the application?
If you are using CS6 Suite please follow these steps :-
Launch another CS6 application, such as Photoshop.
    Choose Help > Deactivate.
Follow the onscreen prompts to deactivate.
    Close the application.
Launch the same CS6 Suite product again.
Sign in with your Adobe ID associated with CS6 suite to re-activate.
    Launch Acrobat X

  • Adobe Acrobat 6.0.1 will not open after update

I was prompted to add a patch to my Adobe Acrobat 6.0 running on a Mac OS X 10.5.8 After down loading the patch and installing, Adobe Acrobat will not open. A prompt comes up warning me; "The currently selected language resources are not supported by the current version of Adobe Acrobet. Please reselect the language in the international Systems Preference panel." I did this to no avail. Anyone else with this problem? Thanks!

Did the update info come from Adobe? In any case, you might try a repair (not sure how that is done on a MAC. You can also download updates from Adobe at http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Macintosh.

  • DPP digital photo professional will not open images in folder

I have a number of subject folders of vintage photographs from my father and his father, pro's and published.  The images were scanned (Canon, of course!) and subsequently adjusted and manipulated for levels, cropping, and gray scale to eliminate yellow paper color, etc.
I have several folders that DPP will NOT open, just placeholders with a big X on it with the full file name.  I cannot see any reason some folders would load without issue, others don't .  There is no probablem with any other graphics program.  Oh, Windows 7.
I really need to be able to have this work right for my business.  DPP is the only program I've found that will make excelletn contact sheets/index sheets that allows full control of the printer so I can custome set and do duplex printing.  Easy Photo Print also makes nice index sheets, but with absolutely no printer control or options.  Bzzzzzt.
    Thanks, Paul

I didn't post it in Printer discussions, I believe I put it in Software.
"Get something else."  Wow!  Want insight!  You mean like Nikon, Sony, or Panasonic?
In fact, I DID already say that I "got something else," Xnview.
It is indeed under the General Printer Discussion on my side of the site!    Check the top of the page.
Get something else meant software not brand. How did you draw that conclusion?
Unless you have me totally confused, it sounds like you want a file management program not a photo editing/ printing program.
DPP is photo editing/printing software designed to be used with Canon cameras and printers.  It will open those file types.  Mybe it will open others I don't use it that way since it is not it's purview.

  • CS2 acrobat 7,0 professional will not install

I have CS2 Premium on XP. Had problems with printer not supporting pdfs. After techs fixed my computer Acrobat 7.0 pro will not work right. after 3 weeks with customer support and waiting days for them to get back to me they say they can't help - don't support CS2 (wished they would told me that initially). (I use this for volunteer newsletters and do not need CS4) I un installed CS2 and Re installed it. Problem is when the components come up to install the Acrobat 7.0 pro is grayed out and will not re install or un install it. Tried to go to the Acrobat component on my disks and just install acrobat 7.0 pro is doesn't work - error says "Wrong OS or OS version for application".
Obviously it is still recognizing the initial installation. I mention this to the Adobe tech and ask how I could remove it completely so that I could re install and they would not give any suggestion, just kept saying we don't support it and referred me to the forums.
I really don't want to wipe my computer clean and re install all my software.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Sondra

You can try running the CS3 cleanup Script: http://www.adobe.com/support/contact/cs3clean.html
I'm not certain, but I think it removes earlier versions as well. Search this forum for more guidance on usage. There are undocumented settings you may need.
The Microsoft installer cleanup script, which is run in conjunction with the Adobe script, may actually be enough in this case, though, so perhaps better to start with that.
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/290301
If you think you are going to run either of these, I'd suggest uninstalling using control panel first, then run the scripts, and finally do a completely new fresh install.

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 Prof - PDFs will not open in Adobe automatically

I have a workstation that has Adobe Acrobat 8 professional installed. I was first notified that the user complained that each time he opened a PDF in an Email, it would open in Explorer. I had him save a document to his c; drive and did a view file type. In that listing, there was no Adobe professional listed. I attempted to browse to the adobe.exe file but each time, it would default back to explorer, even if I checked the box for it to default to the adobe.exe file that I browsed to. I also noted that adobe never became an application in that listing.
We uninstalled adobe and reinstalled it. Still not successful. We ended up installing Adobe Reader, but the user wants it to open in Adobe Professional. I know that he can save the document then open it with Adobe profesional, but this is an extra step and he would like to be able to just double click on the file and open into Adobe Professional.
What do I need to do to make this work?
    Thanks in advance.

QUOTE>>>To clarify, you would need to first check to see if the PDF extension is set to open (screenshot.20). THIS IS THE AREA THAT PDF IS NOT IN.
If it is not set to open with Acrobat <your version here> (screenshot.21), then you will need to manually tell the computer what program to use.  This is where it becomes important to know the filename you are looking for. Adobe is a company; Acrobat is a program. THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I TRIED TO DO AND OF COURSE I KNOWN I USED THE WRONG NAME / WORD HERE BUT I WAS LOOKING FOR THE CORRECT FILE. WHEN I CHOSE THE ACROBAT.EXE FILE IT WOULD STILL OPEN IN INTERNET EXPLORER.
I have a different version than you do, but as an example, my program is located here: C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe I'M IN THE RIGHT AREA AND GOT THE RIGHT FILE NAME. THIS IS NOT THE ISSUE.
Can we get off the wrong word use and get back to a solution please. I am in the right folder c:\program files\adobe\acrobat 8.0\acrobat.exe and I am browsing for ACROBAT.exe (not ADOBE.exe - again wrong word in my first discussion)
    Bad day, sorry!

  • 8 Professional will not open if Reader is open

I have been having issues opening documents in Acrobat Pro for a little while but it seemed to be intermittent. What I hadn't noticed until today is that the problem depends on whether I have Reader open or not at the time I'm trying to use Professional. What seems to be happening is that, if I have a document open in Acrobat Reader then I can't open Professional. If I go to the start menu and choose Acrobat Professional it does nothing. If I right click on a document in Explorer and choose to open in Acrobat Professional, it opens in Reader.
I realise there are ways around this, but it's annoying.

If Reader or Acrobat are running and you attempt to start either, the startup will be directed to the already running version.
If you want, instead, to start a new instance, add the /n command line switch. For example, make a copy of the shortcut to Acrobat Pro, edit the shortcut via Properties, and add /n after the name of the .exe.
This will always start a new instance. It will not affect launch via double-click or browser. You can also get into trouble as preferences and settings may not be synchronized between running instances in different windows as you might expect.

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard will not open

I downloaded Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard in July 2005. It has worked fine with no bugs. I really do not need to upgrade but now have a problem. I have had some other issues with my computer and now when I try to open this program, I get a window that says:
The installation source for this product is not available. Veryify that the source exists and that you can access it.
I have not deleted it to my knowledge but it won't open. Does anyone have any suggestions?
    Thanks a million!

If you registered or can show proof of purchase, you should be able to get it back from Adobe, though they will likely tell you to upgrade. It is a matter of proof of purchase. The registration is the standard process to assure this agreement. They claim they do not have old versions, but I doubt that is totally true if you push the point and can demonstrate the purchase.
In any case, Adobe is the one that would have to fix the issue for you. Next time, be sure to burn a CD and also register (if not done). Burning program CDs is important for any software you buy off the web.

  • I HAVE ADOBE ACROBAT PRO.  IT WILL NOT OPEN/WORK.

HAVE HAD THIS SAME PROBLEM BEFORE.  HPPSC217.
WAS TOLD TO GO TO PHOTOSHOP AND DEACTIVATE ACROBATX PRO.
WILL TRY RE-INSTALLING - DON'T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO.

    Hi up and at em,
What happens when you try to launch Acrobat? Are you getting an activation error? Or a different type of error? Please elaborate. It would also be helpful to know what operating system you're on (Mac or Windows, and version).
We look forward to hearing back from you.

  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro gets corrupted and will not open

After a month or so Adobe acrobat gets corrupted and will not open, so I have to uninstall it and reinstall it again. I am using windows 8 64bit professional version. Even the updates did not solve the problem.

The advantage of the repair if it works is that you don't have to repeat the updates. AA X is currently at 10.1.7. The best way to do the updates is typically from the Help>Updates selection. They can also be downloaded from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (or MAC equivalent) and installed in order -- most are not cummulative.

  • Acrobat XI will not open in Safari

I just installed Acrobat XI but it will not open PDF documents on the web with Safari 6.0.5.  I can open PDFs on my computer.  Have been using Acrobat X and it worked perfecty.  After installing XI from the Adobe Cloud, the first time I tried to open a PDF document on the web, I received a message that I must accept the user agreement.  I can not find anyway to do this.

I thought I did that. The Acrobat Pro icon in on my dock but I do not see the EULA and can not find it on the menu bar.

  • Adobe Reader 9.3 will not open in Adobe Acrobat Pro 8

We are currently running Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional Version 8.2.0 with Acrobat Distiller 8 and Adobe Live Cycle Disigner 8.0. I have downloaded Adobe Reader 9.3, but it still will not open 9.3 documents it defaults to the Reader 8 and I get an error message.
How do I change the default Reader to 9.3 or do I have to buy the upgrade for Adobe Acrobat Pro 8 in order to be able to open and use on-line forms that require 9.3?
    Help!

Well that is my question, we have a fully authorized and purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro
    8.
When I do an update for Adobe Acrobat 8, it does not install the updated Reader 9.3.
In order to update the Reader to 9.3, I have to install it seperately. It does that, but when I open 9.3 it defaults to the 8 Reader.
So I guess the answer to my question is that I have to update to the 9.3 full version of Adobe Acrobat Pro, what a rip by Adobe just so we can use the newest "free" Reader.

  • Hi hope somebody can help? i have acrobat 6 pro, worked well for last two years but then just stopped working. Have reinstalled but still will not open, ronning windows 7. Help please!!

Hi hope somebody can help? i have acrobat 6 pro, worked well for last two years but then just stopped working. Have reinstalled but still will not open, ronning windows 7. Help please!!  Janice

    Hey janicem42177174,
Adobe no longer supports the installation and use of Acrobat 6 as it is a very old version which is not compatible with Windows 7.
I would suggest you to please use the latest version of Acrobat i.e. 11.0.10 which is fully compatible with your OS with its enhanced features and functions.
You might download a free 30-day trial version of Acrobat from here:
Download Adobe Acrobat free trial | Acrobat XI Professional
Let me know how it goes
