Acrobat 6 Std Scanner Issue Kodak i1120

New computer and reinstalled Acrobat and Kodak scanner.  Scanner validation through Kodak software checks OK feeding and recognizing multiple pages.  Windows Control Panel Scanner Wizard also checks OK feeding and recognizing multiple pages.
Adobe Create PDF from scanner starts normally but after drawing 2 pages through (2sided) stops....draws 3rd page and stops with 2 pages in feeder.  Acrobat dialog box comes up Done or Next.  If I reply Done it shows that its scanned only one page (both sides).
Ideas?

Whoa!!  Thank you soooo much.  Performance is now back to normal.

Can scanner open Acorbat when using Acrobat Trial Version 9?

    thanks Mylenium
the font association problem is something recent though, since I used acrobat to print mails directly from my gmail account previously...
it's galling but I installed a free pdf printer which does the job, I needed copies of these mails urgently !
as to the update issue, I see no aum.exe, msiexec.exe or setup.exe running... but that's quite above my head... do I look for those exact processes or are they generic names for processes ?
does my question make sense ????

    Hi Dharmender ,
Did you try to repair your Acrobat once ?If not please try the same and check if that helps you out .
Launch Acrobat >Navigate to Help >Repair Acrobat Installation .
Do you get any error message or any prompts when it hangs and become unresponsive ?
Does this happen with any specific PDF or all the PDF'?
Also you could try to uninstall Acrobat once and they re install it if the above step does not work .
Please restart your machine once as well.

  • Acrobat Std v9.5 browser session locks up past 2nd page

    I updated to v9.5 Acrobat Std. yesterday (from v9.45 --> 9.46 -->9.47 to 9.50).
I opened a PDF linked inside a webpage to a new tab (using 32 bit IE9). The webpage PDF opens fine. But when I scroll to the second page (which is black), the browser session locks up (including all open tabs). I have to use Task Manager to kill the particular non-responsive IE9 session (i.e., other, independent IE9 browser sessions do NOT lockup, and do remain running when I kill the errant session ...just guessing, but the non-locked up sessions may be an artifact of independent memory spaces from using W7 64 bit).
I tried this several times, opening a new browser session each time, trying to view the document past the first page (and if I do not scroll to the second page, the session does not lock up), and the lockup happened each time (i.e., the error is duplicable).
Testing, I opened another new session, clicked on the PDF link and chose to Save As, and placed the document on my desktop. It downloaded almost instantly, and opened just fine (and I was able to read the entire 7 pages of mixed texts & charts).
I did not experience this problem with Acrobat v9.45, ever ...and yes, I use that feature often (so I would have known if there had been an issue). I never really tested the issue under Acrobat v.9.46/9.47 (I didn't open those versions at all ...I was doing Adobe updates manually as per my usual routine, and generally follow the sequential order "just in case").
...and if no one can point me to a solution, then I suppose I'll have to try removing the update (if that's possible), or deleting Acrobat 9 (after deactivating the license - I read within this forum that you can do that, if you need to uninstall for some reason) and re-installing Acrobat 9.0 from scratch (I'd really rather not do that, but if that's what it takes).
NOTE: I do not have Adobe Reader installed. My OS is Windows 7 Pro (64 bit) w/8GB of RAM, and Intel Core 2 Quad. My preferred browser is IE9. All software and OS patches are current [to-the-version]. I'm an experienced user (20 years plus as a systems administrator); and non-gamer (i.e., malware free). This is a work box (primarily used for client remote support).
Cross posted from the Adobe Reader discussion forum (as I didn't get any responses there).

In reference to this change in the Custom Reports... Better experience when exporting data - to prevent customer confusion when exporting data from Mac computers, we have removed the export to excel option and exporting in CSV format by default.
What is the customer confusion we are trying to stop here? I've got even more confused customers at the moment because all of a sudden they can't find the export to excel option but know it exists if they log in on a PC?

  • Problem with 2nd scan in Acrobat Std 8

I submitted this problem a few days ago, but it seems to have disappeared from the forum.
I am Using Acrobat Std 8.1.4 with a Canon MP530 all-in-one printer (in Twain mode).  Since approximately a month ago, the following problem started with no apparent reason (no chg in hardware, no obvious chg in software except for Adobe & Microsoft updates):
I do "Create Pdf" | "From Scanner" and it works fine the first time.  If I try to scan again within the same session (to a new pdf or to an existing pdf), I get the following error message:
Error while interfacing with the scanner; the selected scanner was not found.
I re-installed the printer drivers a couple of days ago (but I am not sure this did anything to the Twain drivers).
    I would appreciate any suggestions.
    Thanks,
    Gabriel

Any insightful suggestions from Acrobat or Twain gurus?
Any suggestions on how to diagnose the problem?
    Thanks,
    Gabriel

  • Acrobat X printer issue

While attempting to scan a document, I receive an error alert telling me that that is an "error interacting the the scanner: selected scanner not found"  The HP Officejet Pro 8500 is present and functioning on the PC.  Have uninstalled/installed the printer several times without success.  Printing connection error occured unexpectly and no changes to printer made prior to error alert.

This is a scanner issue, not a printer issue that is usually covered by Windows (at least I am assuming some version of Win.) I have no idea of your Acrobat version, but the problem may be that there is no TWAIN driver installed to interface to the scanner. Can you see the scanner from a graphics package in the scanner mode? If not, it is a driver issue.

  • Acrobat std. 9 & 10 conflicts with MS Office & SharePoint 2010

    HELP!!!!
I have a user base that access PDFs stored in a Workspace on our SharePoint server and access them via our Intranet SharePoint site.  These users have Acrobat Std 9 and 10.  We have recently installed MS Office 2010.  The users were given a short cut to the files on SharePoint but the short cut is a Windows Explorer window as allowed in SharePoint.  The Problem:  when the users attempt to open any file through the short cut, it can take up to 20 or 30 minutes for the file to open, somethings it times out.  The user, thinking something is wrong, will attempt to close the window, ultimately making the machine unresponsive and requires a reboot.  However, if the users copies and pastes the files to their local machine, it opens right away.  If the users traverse the Intranet SharePoint site, down through the various folders of the SharePoint Workspace, they can open the files without issue. This issue only occurres when Office 2010 is installed with acrobat 9 or 10 and they access the files via the windows explore short cut.  We have even tried uninstalling Office 2010 but once installed the issue remains.  The order of the install does not affect the outcome.  Has anyone experienced this issue?  Is there a resolution?

Hmm... there have been other discussions of Acrobat X MS Office 2010 http://forums.adobe.com/thread/884628?tstart=0 but I don't remember seeing anything like your problem
You may want to send a report to Adobe (this user to user forum is not actually Adobe support)

  • Tuner 7 and Acrobat Std. 7

    Hello,
I'm trying to deploy Acrobat Std 7.07(I was able to slipstream the updates) in my organization. I am using Tuner 7 to create the .mst file, and the default install path I set is C:\Program Files\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0. the install works fine, however the files are stored under C:\Program files\Adobe. It does not create the Acrobat 7.0 folder. Can anyone help me with this. Any help would be appreciated.
    Thank you
    Tommy

I had this same issue with some clients not receiving the icons on the start menu or the desktop with Adobe Standard 7.0.8 and Adobe Reader 7.0.8 although the install went fine (if I manually created the icons the program would run fine). After looking into the issue further I realized this issue was only occuring on Windows 2000 SP4 machines. Upon searching the test machine, I found the icons in the root of the C: drive - this led me to believe that the install could not figure out where to place the icons in W2K SP4. I resolved the issue by using the ALLUSERS=2 switch in the SMS package command line. This explicitly states that the program is to install to the All Users profile. Issue resolved after much additional gray hair. I hope this information helps someone else out there fix their issue faster than I did.

  • Can't buy Acrobat Std. 11 through website.

I'm trying to buy Acrobat Std. 11. (upgrade for $139)  However, I get an error message when I do this online. Any help would be appreciated.

Make sure you have cookies enabled and clear your cache.  If it continues to fail try using a different browser.
Google Chrome uses its own PDF viewer, not the Adobe Reader plugin.  See http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/pdf-browser-plugin-configuration.html
The issue is related to browser.

  • Using Adobe Customization Tool XI to deploy Acrobat STD and PRO

    Hello,
I'm using Adobe Customization Tool XI to build Adobe Acrobat STD and PRO packages.
It seems that none of my changes stick during deployment.
Example: I open AcroStan.msi with the tool. Make all necessary changes and generate transform file. I then exit without saving changes to AcroStan.msi file.
After that I test the installation in C:\Test folder with the following command:
    msiexec /i acrostan.msi TRANSFORMS=test.mst
Installation window pops up since I didn't use silent installation switches, but none of the information I have provided are available, it defaults to out of the box experience asking for serial number as well.
    Am I doing something wrong?
    Luke

I have created .mst file named test and put it in c:\New Folder along with all source files, including AcroStan.msi
    Command line:
    c:\new folder>msiexec /i AcroStan.msi TRANSFORMS=test.mst /qb (I've used QB to watch the progress).
It failes with this error attached below.
We can close this subject though.
I've started testing this on different machines and they all work fine.
I have many VMs to test on, and the one I have picked to start with is causing the above error so I'm going to link this issue with the OS.
Other VMs and desktops are working great.

  • Editing pdf attached to outlook emails with Adobe Acrobat - Std or Pro?

    Hi
I have a customer, who wants to edit the PDFs, which are attached to emails, before forwarding them. (He just wants to add a sticky note).
I recently found out, that this is only possible with Adobe Acrobat and not with Adobe Reader. Now, the question is, which version do they have to use? Acrobat Standard or Acrobat Professional?
Does someone just know the answer or can anyone with Adobe Acrobat Std test this situation?
    Kind Regards,
    eddie

It's been a long time since I've used Acrobat 7 Pro but I have used Acrobat 8 Professional.
The key thing is to choose the correct tool. You're looking for the Touchup Text tool, which is probably on the Advanced Editing toolbar. You can probably open up that toolbar by choosing View > Toolbars > Advanced Editing. With that tool selected, drag through the sentence to be deleted. Right-click (Control-click) on the selected text and press Delete.

  • How can I export from Excel to pdf using Acrobat Std to achieve uniform page size throughout the whole pdf document?

After exporting the whole workbook to a single pdf file, page sizes are inconsistent. When viewing the document in full screen, some pages show up as 25% zoomed, others as 34%.  I could re-print the exported pdf file to pdf in Acrobat Std, and that way I could get the same page size throughout the document, but then I loose my bookmarks, which I don't want.
I have already set the page size to A4 in Excel, but that's not where my problem lies. any help, hint is appreciated.

A good place to start is Karl Heinz Kremer's blog, where he has a few examples:
