Acrobat 7.0.8 updater gets stuck

Hello all,
I had to re-install my copy of Acrobat Pro on my new machine, and when running the Adobe Updater it tells me three updates for Acrobat are available. Great! Well, on the first one, 7.0.8, it hangs after about 95% on progress bar. It doesn't freeze the whole system, it just gives me the old school black & white rotating circle.
Any ideas what's happening? Would love to get this thing updated.
Thanks!!

My guess is that you trying to update Acrobat 7 on a system running Mac OS 10.5, which is not supported. The only versions supported on Mac OS 10.5 are Acrobat 8.1.2 and above (including Acrobat 9).
But you can try downloading the 7.0.8, 7.0.9, and 7.1.0 patches from http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates/

  • 10.3 update gets stuck

I'm trying to update my os to 10.3.1 from 10.2.1 and the update gets stuck at 97% saying the software update interrupted. Any idea how to fix it?
I even tried factory reset once and tried to update the software again. Still the same

Just a shot, try doing the update through BB Link and not through Wi-Fi. Doing it through BB Link will download the 1GB file to your computer hard drive. Also, make sure you have the space available on your phone to actually install the OS update. That might mean putting music, photos, documents on the microSD card or moving them to a computer and then moving them back after the update.
Also, I've seen it taken about 2 hours in total to install (30 minute download via Wi-Fi, 1.25 hours installation, 15 minute reboot and initial configuration).
Don't know if this helps, but it's worth a shot.

  • Updates getting stuck in V2 processed state

    Hi,
In our ERP production system EP0, update entries are getting stuck
    in 'V2 Processed' state.
Details of the same show that the collective run state is in initial
    state for functional module 'MCEX_UPDATE_03'.
Please find the attached screenshot of details.
These updates are gettin stuck for specific transactions like MIGO.
We have already tried running the report RSM13005 but it has not helped.
Please look into it urgently as the system is a production system.
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,

    Hi
As you checked in transaction SM13 they are stucked in Initial state. There was various states associated with the update like INIT and ERR.
    What is INIT status:
Update records which have not yet been processed have the status INIT or AUTO. INIT refers to a complete update record (header, function module call of update and data elements are present), which has not yet been processed however.
    What to do: SM13 -> Update records -> Update -> All records/Single
you can set the update administration so that all records with the status 'INIT' or AUTO' (all update records which have not yet been updated) are processed (as far as possible).
Warnings: please check with the user who posted the updates in the first place - make sure that they have not already reposted the update manually. If you are in doubt, please re-enter the data manually rather than using this update function.
    Hope this helps!!
    Kind Regards

    appreciate you help.

Do you realise that this is a flawed approach?
Performance in a multi-user and multi-process database system is about the ability to do things simultaneously.
Simple analogy. You have a McDonalds. You have a 100 customers wanting to be serviced. What will be better? Having the customer all queuing in a single long queue to be serviced by a single cashier?
Or 10 cashiers, 10 queues, and the ability to service 10 customers at the same time?
It should be very obvious that the ability to service 10 customers at the same time is a lot better than only servicing a single customer at a time.
Likewise, Oracle can service 1000's of different sessions all inserting data.
Now you want to create a single queue for all insert transactions - and give each one a unique and sequential identifier. This will literally kill performance. It will turn a 32 CPU server into a 1 CPU desktop as all that extra CPU power can never be used as all the sessions need to get into a single queue and be serviced one at a time.
Also consider the functionality of your approach. Session 1 gets a 5 unique identifiers as it wants to insert 5 rows. Session 2 gets the next 3 sequence numbers. Session 1 aborts and rolls back its transaction (numerous practical reasons exist for why this can and do happen).
What is the status now in the database table? 5 numbers are now "missing".
So despite your severely flawed attempt to enforce serialisation and sequential numbering, it will fail. So why then even contemplate turning the Oracle database from being able to service multiple concurrent sessions at the same time, to a slow single-user/single-process database that can only service a single request at a time?
The CORRECT approach in Oracle is to use a sequence generator (see the CREATE SEQUENCE command in the <i>SQL Reference Guide</i>). Use it. Do not try a flawed approach that WILL fail and that WILL have a very severe performance impact.

  • ITunes Update gets stuck

So I need to update to the newest iTunes after updating my iPod, however whenever I attempt to update to iTunes 8 + Quicktime the update starts but quicky freezes up and an error message pops up telling me that update has an invalid signature and that the computer is removing the update. Is there anything I can do to get this to update? Without the updated iTunes, I can't use my iPod (unless I can uninstall what was updated on it) and I am stuck with the song that are on it?
All help is very much appreciated.

After followed all this instructions the problem continues the same.
Honestly, Apple should be doing something, Ipod is an expensive toy and we shouldn't be having any problem
    Completely remove iTunes and QuickTime
Note: Songs you purchased from the iTunes Store or imported from CDs are saved in your My Music folder by default and are not deleted by removing iTunes.
    1. Quit iTunes.
    2. Choose Start > Control Panel.
    3. Windows XP and Windows 2000: In Control Panel, open Add or Remove Programs.

    4. Select iTunes from the list of currently installed programs, then click Remove or Uninstall.
    5. In Windows XP and Windows 2000, when asked if you would like to remove iTunes, select Yes.
    6. In Windows Vista, if your permission is needed to continue, click Continue.
    7. After uninstalling iTunes, do not restart if you are prompted to.
    8. If other entries were present for iTunes remove those as well.
    9. In Add or Remove Programs or Programs and Features, remove any iPod Updater applications that are listed in the same fashion as iTunes was removed.

  • Software Update gets stuck

The last 2 times Software Update on my MacBook Air told me that updates are available, I proceeded with the installs and it hung.
    Both times
    - the software update required a restart before installing
    - got stuck at the screen that shows the default Leopard wallpaper and the timer
    - holding the power button to power off and then starting it again seems to do the trick
No a big deal, just a bit annoying. This does not happen on my macbook, just the macbook air.
    Anyone else experiencing this issue?

You know what... that website ALSO doesn't seem to finish loading. There is a dark graysish block with icons for all the different platforms and then there's a column of options on the left. But what seems to be the main part of the page on the lower right (when scrolled to the top) just shows a throbber / activity indicator and nothing happens.
I tried this on an entirely different internet connection, tethering with my iPhone and using 3G with an entirely different ISP. That connection is a few Mbps so I should expect faster response but still it takes forever. I gave up after 5 minutes not checking to see if the thing will actually load because expensive data use was building up on my iPhone while the throbber was displaying.
My Mac experience just keeps getting bumpier

  • System update getting stuck

I bought my MacBook Pro just over a week ago, when i got it home all the updates went through fine; I was using iTunes yesterday and it informed me that there was an update available, however, when i went to install it, it got stuck, on the progress bar it got to the "e" in "checking for updates". Odly when i disconnected the internet and reconnected it, it managed to get to "o" in "software" and that is where it reaching everytime. I checked the console and there were many entries stating '[time] Software Update: Can't load disribution from http://swcdn.apple.com/content/downloads/[loads of numbers that change each time]. I have noticed that this refreshes every 10 seconds. To make matters even more odd when I connected to my iPhones tethered connection it was able to check for updates, but then i thought that my internet connection couldn't be to blame because it was abe to do it a week ago, here is a screen shot:
    Thankyou for any help

    Thanks Justin,
Whilst my response was negative I think it was actually very constructive, since it will likely prevent a moment either months or years down the line when software update is no longer working and this hack has long since been forgotten. Diagnosis then will be much more difficult.
If you'll forgive my brevity, I was typing on an iPad at 2am local via a remote connection to my macbook. Not condusive to an eloquent explanation but perfect for a speedy warning.
So, to be constructive, before I am once more speared with the insincerity of Justin's "Kind Regards".....
I am also suffering this problem, from all machines behind my firewall. It began a week or so ago and has the same symptoms as above. It looks to me I simply don't have a route to swcdn.apple.com.

I googled "opentransit" (since I've never heard of them) and found https://lg.opentransit.net/ which appears Orange branded (My broadband provider is Orange, so I am assuming I'm not yet off Orange routers).
I don't know whather it's relevant but using this tool to fire off a traceroute to swcdn.apple.com also fails, which probably indicates the same thing - that Orange have a problem reaching this host.
I've contacted Orange to see if I can get anywhere technical enough to get a response or get it fixed.
It would be helpful if anyone suffering this problem said what internet provider they're using and optionally provided a traceroute like I did. You can use the command in a terminal window that's on the first line of my paste.
Substituting an entry in the hosts file is a great short-term fix but as always, messing about with the hosts file is easily forgotten and difficult to detect/diagnose in the future, which is why I recommend you change your hosts file back after this hack.

  • [URGENT] Torch 9850 wont turn on after updating, gets stuck at 60 - 70% went booting up, and if I try to start it in safe mode it gets to 60% and shuts off.

Hello everyone how are you? Im having a problem as you can see with my 9850. One day i woke up and it wouldn't turn on, did battery pulls and still nothing. It was fully charged too. I connected it to the computer and updated it. During update error messages came up saying it couldnt connect to app loader. Eventually updating was complete. It booted up and stopped at about 60%-70% and stayed there for hours until it shut off by itself (probably the battery died). I did a batt pull and the same thing happened. i wiped the device with bbsak, reloaded the OS, and got the same result. Even the whole app loader error message came up again. Went to the forums to find a solution and tried opening in safe mode. Everytime i try to open in safe mode the phone shuts off and reboots. So now i have run out of options. Can someone please help me get my phone back up and running please. Id really appreciate it.

You might try again, wiping with BBSAK and again loading the OS fresh.

  • Last night's TB update gets stuck trying to attach if CV is in the body.

I sent an email day before yesterday. I upgraded to the latest TB last night. I had a reply today and tried to reply to that. There was a well-known "possible attachment" keyword in the original body. Send got stuck trying to attach ("attaching ..."), whatever way I tried to say no attachment. Tried every permutation I could think of. The only way I finally got it to send was to create a dummy attachment and attach it. This is the first time I have come across this problem - previously pressing No worked fine.

Takes like 30 minutes depending in what size is your iPod ( 64GB, 32GB, 8GB. 16GB ). I think it freezed.
Try restarting your computer, and try to update again.

  • OS Update gets stuck

MacBook with OS 10.6.2. Software Update asked me to install an OS update and something else when I got online again after a couple of months of not having internet at home. The download went fine, but the installation sticks after I restart and a progress bar on the screen appears. The MacBook says it is writing, but the progress bar stops about 3/4 of the way to the end and stays there. I just let it run for over and hour and nothing changed. I have to shut down with the button to get out of it.
You may ask what the "something else" is, but I don't know how to find out, since the download is done.

I did something bad. On the slow DSL which is all I could afford to get, the combo was taking over three hours to download. So I went away and came back later. It said 43 minutes. Without thinking I turned off Firefox because I always do at night. That stopped the download. Now when I try again the combo wants to take three hours again. Shouldn't it start where it left off?
