Acrobat 7.0.9 Crashes after 5 sec.

I tried re installing the program 7.0 and updating to 7.0.9 all versions crash after 5 seconds. I tried deleting preferences but I'm not sure I got all the acrobat preferences Can someone chime in as to what might be the issue. I'm running panther osx 10.3.9. Trouble started when Safari stopped working. I re installed Safari as well and could not get it to run. Safari is no big because I use Firefox.

In addition I think this crash has something to do with having installed Safari for Tiger onto a Panther machine. Does anyone know what components the Tiger version of Safari would have installed to cause Acrobat to crash? How do I recover from this?

  • Mac Acrobat X opens then crashes after 8 seconds, how do you fix this Adobe?

I am trying to use Acrobat Pro X 10.1.3 on Mac 10.10.2.
Every time I open either the application or a pdf file, Acrobat Pro X crashes after about 8 seconds.
From looking at the forums, it seems many people have asked a similar question, however there does not appear to be a solution that works for Macs.
Acrobat Pro X is part of CS5.5 suite. Reinstalled on a new iMac and all Adobe products updated including Acrobat X.
Older version of Acrobat works on my old Mac but not here.
I have resorted to Acrobat Reader, however I need to use Acrobat Pro X.
Any solution or work around for Mac would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
Please try the following steps and let me know if that worked.
Delete all the files from following folders:
    [Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLStore
    [Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/SLCache
And, delete all files from following folder except cache.db
    [Home]/Library/Application Support/Adobe/AdobePCD
Then launch Acrobat and try to activate and check.

    Hey Zia,
Please check whether the scanner works fine with other applications or not.
On your Windows machine, please navigate to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 11.0\Acrobat" and move ACE.dll file to desktop.
Now, repair Adobe Acrobat from Control Panel and then try scanning PDF files.
If the issue still persists, then you might need to update your scanner drivers and then check.
Let me know if this helps.

  • Acrobat Plug In Container Crashes After Update to Acrobat Pro 10.1.3

After the 10.1.3 update was applied to Acrobat Pro X for Windows (on Windows 7 64-bit), the Acrobat Plug-In for Firefox crashes intermittently.  A dialog box will appear within the Firefox environment reporting the crash.  Firefox continues running without issue.
    Reported error:

I attempted a repair of the Acrobat 10.1.3 install, but this does not resolve the error; nor does reinstalling or updating Firefox to the latest build.

    ry a restart.
Do a backup, using either Time Machine or a cloning program, to ensure files/data can be recovered. Two backups are better than one.
Try setting up another admin user account to see if the same problem continues. If Back-to-My Mac is selected in System Preferences, the Guest account will not work. The intent is to see if it is specific to one account or a system wide problem. This account can be deleted later.
Isolating an issue by using another user account
If the problem is still there, try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account.  Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don't do them all at once.

  • Acrobat 8.1.4 crashes after update

I hope you can help me!  I have a computer that has Adobe Acrobat 8.1, which after upgrading to 8.1.4 crashed.
When the program opens, it begins opening all newer documents in the history, until it reaches about 50 documents.  The program then crashes.
Any suggestions on how to resolve this?!  We have uninstalled and reinstalled the program twice, and am now not allowing the program to do updates until we figure this out.
    Thanks for any help!

I should have made this more clear, but the program opens the documents itself.  When the program is opened, it begins opening the documents automatically, crashing when about 50 documents are open.
    Thanks for any help!

  • Adobe Acrobat 11.0.06 Crashing after scan

    Hello
I am facing problems esp when using 'Create -> PDF from Scanner '
I am using Cannon MX472 multifunction printer and after it completes the scans I see the scanned pages for few brief second and then it crashes and I have to do the scan all over again.
I have apple computer with OS X 10.9.2 and also not able to find my printer when I select option ' TWAIN' in
Convert to PDF -> Scan -> Scan Driver but my printer shows up when I select ' image capture ' option.
This is really bugging me a lot as I have to scan many many documents during course of day and its double work for me.
Apart from adobe crashing all my scanned documents are coming out as grey when canned even when I select image adjustment to document.
Please advise how to fix this problem.
    Thanks
    Vishal

I tried these steps and it did not fix the problem I am having:
    > Remove any other instances of Acrobat if installed on the machine like previous version Acrobat 9/X Pro . (Since it may conflict the application.)
    > Make sure Acrobat is Updated till 11.0.06
    > Launch the Acrobat XI Pro
    > Go to Acrobat Icon on Finder and then Select the Preferences Option.
    > Under Categories : Go to Accessibility : And then under "Other Accessibility Options" -
Deselect the check box which says - "Enable assistive technology support"
I do not have these options:
    > Also under categories go to > Convert to Pdf > Used TWAIN first > Hit ok > Then close the Acrobat XI Pro and then relaunch the acrobat.
    > Again go to Preferences and under categories go to > Convert to Pdf then select the Image Capture and then hit Ok button.
    > Close acrobat and then relaunch it and see if it Helps you while you do scanning.
    > Would recommend you to check to Scan the pdf when the scanner is connected through wire.

    3 Command + F to search document
4 Enter search word, click next
5 Open another pdf using step 2

  • Acrobat Pro X (10.1.9.22) crashes after a few minutes of use - I've tried everything I can think of!

Acrobat Pro X, that came with CS6 Design Standard (all other programs working fine) crashes after a few minutes of use. It crashes whether there is a document open or not.
I notice it most when I come back to the PDF after switching from another program; eg) Open PDF and browse for atleast 1 minute, find the info I need on the PDF, update InDesign document, switch back to PDF, "(Not Responding)", try to close document, "Adobe Acrobat is Not Responding". And this happens every single time - no matter what document I open or whether I even have a document open at all.
    I've searched the forums and as much of the Internet I can think of, and I've tried (but with no luck);
    - Updating both Windows 7 and Acrobat Pro
    - Deactivating and the reactivating the software
    - Deleting the cache and then deactivating - (I thought this had worked for a few minutes after I'd done this, but no)
    - Acrofix
    - Complete re-install without performing updates - still crashed
    - Complete resinstall after using Acrobat Cleaner tool
    - Turning off 3D functions in Acrobat
    - Turning off Enhanced security and license features in Acrobat
    - Turning off Windows Firewall
    - Turning off Internet Security (ESET)
    - Removing all non-standard Fonts
I can't think of anything else to try so I thought I'd ask here. Please help!
    Windows 7 / Intel core i7 / 16GB

Hi Rave, thanks for your reply.
How do I go about posting the crash dump here?
And to answer your questions; I just installed Reader 11 and its working fine. As for Acrobat 11, I must've used a trial last year before we got CS6 because it is asking me to license it, so I cant test that unfortunately.

  • Reader X crashes after 30 secs with Protected mode enabled

Having just deployed Reader X to over 100 PC's via group policy I'm a little dishartened to find that Reader X crashes after 30 secs of being open when protected mode is enabled.
    Current setup is as followed:-
Clients are XP SP3, Vista SP2 & Win7 (all crash)
    Server 2003 R2 domain
Reader X deployed via MSI using GPO with a transform created using the Reader X customization wizard (only set to disable updates as I'll push these out via GPO also when available).
The problem occurs with standard domain users (doesn't happen if you use an admin account to login and run Reader X), once you disable the setting for "enable Protected mode at start up" and restart Reader X it doesn't crash. I've been reading also that the protected mode creats a sandbox environment that some AV products are currently having issues with, so I've also tested by removing my AV on a test client rebooting and running Reader X with protected mode enabled, the Pc will still crash, so that rules out my AV product.
After each crash the client logs an event in the application log
    Event ID: 1000
    Aource Application error
    Description:
Faulting application AcroRd32.exe, version 10.0.0.396, time stamp 0x4cc5e97b, faulting module WININET.dll, version 8.0.6001.18999, time stamp 0x4ccfa98f, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x0002387b, process id 0xd54, application start time 0x01cbc2ec89ab4cba.
Anyone any ideas on why this happens?

I am seeing the same problem on Vista SP2 32-bit.  I enabled the Protect Mode log and see a bunch of errors relating to registry entries.  I am running Adobe Reader X 10.0.1 as a standard privilege user. The problem has been intermittent.  Repeated attempts to open the same PDF will result in Adobe Reader X failing after 45 seconds, then the next attempt will work fine.  I have had situations where an Adobe Reader X instance has been open for hours but a new instance crashed.  I have not been able to identify any trigger that might explain the difference in behavior.  The problem has gone away since disabling Protect Mode.

  • Acrobat 11.0.07 immediately crashes after scanning a document to PDF on my Mac.. this occurs after a recent update!

Why is acrobat 11.0.07 crashing on my MAC immediately after scanning a document to PDF.  I have not had this problem until after a recent update .  The scanner is a HP 8600 Officejet Pro....

    Hi Steve
There is a known issue with Acrobat 11 and it is specific to network/shared scanners and Mac OS 10.9. We have logged a bug in our database and we are working with Apple to resolve this issue. The workaround would be to connect the scanner via USB.

  • New Acrobat Pro installed and EVERY PDF file crashes after about 10 seconds. Any Solutions?

I just purchased and installed Acrobat Pro v. 10.1.2 and it seemed to install fine ,but now EVERY ODF crashes after about 10 seconds. Also, I get the Windows "please wait while Windows Configures Acrobat" message every time I launch Acrobat. Does anyone have a solution or suggestion?

    Good day,
I'm sorry to hear you're having trouble.
    Could you try the following:
Launch Acrobat, but do not open a PDF file.
Choose Edit > Preferences.  Click on 'Internet' on the left-hand side.
    Uncheck 'Display PDF in Browser'
Relaunch Acrobat - do you still get the 'Please wait while Windows configures Acrobat' message?
If that message has stopped coming up, please try opening a PDF file.  Does Acrobat still crash?
Do you have any other versions of Acrobat or Adobe Reader installed on this computer?
What version of Windows do you have installed?  What version of Internet Explorer is installed?
    Kind regards,

I finally called Apple for this Compressor problem, and actually they said that 99% of these problems come from the other application, QMASTER : they adviced me to throw COMPRESSOR AND QMASTER away (with a clean app application, in order to kill also the linked files) and to re-install the 2 apps.
