I have the exact same issue. I can print one document and then I get the error mentionned above ("adobe creation cannot continue because acrobat is not activated"). Then I need to reboot in order to be able to print a new document.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI: Error Adobe Acrobat is not activated. Cannot create PDF File.

After installing Acrobat XI Pro on Windows 7 Ent. w/Office 2010.
From MS Word, select Save as PDF, I recieve "Adobe Acrobat is not activated. Cannot create PDF file."
Any and all troubleshooting has failed.
Uninstall Acrobat, language packs, re-install, install updates, Install on fresh image.

kglad  your link refers to Windows XP. As to the rest it is questionable. First of all it would be nice to know the cause, before fixing the problem. For in some cases eliminating the cause will solve problems later on. So, in my case for ex. The problem did not exist until I protected my Word 2010 document and then saved it to PDF--which it would not allow to do so and giving the error message stated above.

  • Acrobat Suite Product Activation Error Message

I have Mac OS X 10.6.8 and updated Acrobat Pro to 9.5.1. All of the sudden (not anywhere near the time that I updated) I started getting the "Acrobat Suite Product Activation Error Message". Then it closes and quits.
Launching Photoshop (or having it open) does nothing. The other similar forum discussions seem to concern Lion, which I don't have yet. Solutions?

The Acrobat X Suite has Acrobat X not Acrobat 9 Pro.  So it begs the question do you have Acrobat 9 Pro Extended?

  • Acrobat 8 not activated

  • Adobe Acrobat 3d toolkit activation issue

I recently updated a user to CS3 Premium and the 3D toolkit was working fine until the install. The user opened up the 3D toolkit and the following error message was shown " Acrobat 3D must be activated to use #D toolkit". I checked 3D acrobat and the activation was grayed out. I contacted tech support and they directed me to Activation and then activation sent me back to Tech support. Tech support decided it was a activation patch issue so I went back to activation. Activation told me no patch available for 3D Acrobat. SO, I called tech support back and they told me ,IE7 issue and had to install the newest update. I installed and still have the same issue. Does anyone know what is causing this? and How can I fix the issue? I am in the process of uninstalling CS3 to get it back to where it was working for the user and then deal with this issue later. I do have the same issue with another user that doesn't use the 3D toolkit for now. Please, I am about to lose it.
    Thanks,
    John

Did you do a Custom installation of CS3 (not attempting to install Acrobat over Acrobat 3D?)? If not then it might have made a mess the Acrobat activation component. I think you're probably on the correct path in doing the uninstall. You may want to use the cleanup script. Then reinstall Acrobat 3D and do a custom installation of CS3.

  • Lightroom says acrobat is not active

My lightroom says that I cannot print to PDF because acrobat is not active. What can I do?

    Hi Stephanie ,
Please follow the steps below to change the default program for viewing pdf's
    Launch Acrobat
Click on the 'Edit' button in the toolbar, and then select 'Preferences'
A new window would come up. On the left column, higlight the 'General' Tab and on the right hand side at the bottom there's a button called 'Select Default PDF Handler'
Click the button and select 'Adobe Reader' as the default for PDF's.Click on 'Ok' now to save the changes.
Alternatively, you can simply right click on any pdf file and then select 'Open With..' > 'Choose Default Program' and select 'Adobe Reader' from the list of programs.
Make sure the option at the bottom is checked that says ' Always use the selected program to open this kind of file'.
Click on 'Ok' now to save the changes.
To uninstall Acrobat you can simply uninstall it from the Control Panel > Programs or use the Acrobat cleaner tool : http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html

  • Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Activation problem

I'm trying to install Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Standard.  I purchased the original product several years ago and installed it on a personal laptop (Windows XP) in order to work from home.  The XP laptop has died and I'm trying to reinsatall Acrobat from the original disk on a new Windows 7 laptop.  After entering the Serial # and the Activation #, I cannot get the Authorization # in order to proceed with the installation.
I have not had any luck finding a phone number for anyone at Adobe to speak with, so I'm tossing my problem to the Adobe users.  Anyone care to pick up my fumble?

    Steve,
Thanks for your quick reply.  Before I try to uninstall my original version of Acrobat 7.0 . . . I have some concerns, if you care to weigh in.
After purchasing the Adobe 7.0 software, I installed it on a Dell 9300 laptop (Windows XP) and have been using it with no problems ever since.  Although the software still does everything I need it to, the laptop has been sick for some time.  I'm afraid that an attempt to uninstall the program may expedite it's total demise.  Should the uninstall process fail, I don't want to be caught in the position of NOT being allowed to reinstall it on my new Windows 7 laptop.
I no longer need the program to work from home since I am now retired.  However, I have spent many hours since retiring using the Adobe program to scan, edit, and file personal records and eliminate paper.
What options do I have for reinstalling the software IF the uninstall fails?  I have the original disk, key code, etc, but for fear of losing my authorization on the Windows XP laptop, I have not yet tried to install the program on a 2nd PC.
Anything you can do to keep this old brain from facing a big learning curve with the latest software is greatly appreciated.

  • Acrobat 7 Professional activation problem

Recently, when my user open up Acrobat 7 Professional a dialog box pop-up saying it needs to activate.  I try to activate over the internet and failed.  Then I made a call to Adobe and found out because the production is end-of-life.  I follow the steps in this article (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l) and try to download the software from there.  However, I can't find Acrobat 7 Professional (only Acrobat 7 Standard).  Can anyone direct me where I can download Acrobat 7 Professional?  Thank you.

Thank you for your reply.  But I have another problem.  I downloaded the Creative Suite 2 installer from Adobe.com then extracted all 3 installers into the same folder.  I tried to install the software; however, it have only Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Photo CS 2 Adobe ImageReady, and Version Cue CS2.  It did not have Acrobat 7 Professional.  I read the readme file it mentioned only the Creative Suite 2 Perimun Edition have Acrobat 7 Professional.  What should I do now?  Please advise, thank you.

  • Acrobat 7.0 activation problem

I had to reinstall a copy of Acrobat 7.0 Standard.  Whenever I try to activate, I get a message that I must be a system administrator and that I should log out and log back in as system admin.  But I am logged in as system administrator.
I can't get past this to use the program.  My copy of Acrobat is properly registered.  I have the original installation disk.
Acrobat support appears to be non-existent.
    What should I do?

Is there any way I may contact Adobe directly (apart from the chat which derived me to this forum) ?  The information appearing on Adobe web pages has a contractual value. If Adobe does not comply with the services it is offering as of today, it is breaching the contractual relationship with their customers. If Adobe web page states that customers which own a lafwful copy of Acrobat 7 may download the program  (http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l ), Adobe must comply with said statement. And if it is not willing to comply it must modify said statement (but this  change would only have an effect for the future not for past cases).
In addiition, we a have a lawful and legitimate licensed copy (we acquired it and may show the invoice) which was running perfecty well untill I unistalled it last 31st July 2014. Adobe should have sent information to customers advising that if they uninstalled the program they would not be able to install it again!!! If Adobe has not, acting in goodwill it must restore the functionality of the program.
I cannot admit that this is the end of it. Adobe must respond and provide me with a solution!!!

  • Acrobat 7.0 activation problems

I just found my old version of Acrobat 7.0, and went ahead and installed it on my new Win7 system.  The install actually went OK, but when I try to use the program, I get this pop up error message that says:
"Activation requires that you have administrative right on this computer.
Please log in as an administrator and try again, or contact your system administrator."
I am the only user, and therefore the owner/administrator of my system.  I double checked the permissions, and ownership, and rechecked all of this, but I still cannot open Acrobat 7.0.  Also, I have a conflict with my Outlook now (Yes, yes.  I know that this is an older version of Acrobat, but it used to work fine for me)...........any ideas out there?

from start, all programs, find Acrobat, and right click it.  I think the second option is to 'troubleshoot compatibility problems.'  Just click that one, and follow the prompts........I think it is working just like it used to, and is fine so far..........don't forget to uninstall Adobe Reader, if you still have it installed, 'cause you will get a conflict with Outlook (if you use Outlook)........

  • Acrobat 7 Pro activation problem

Acrobat 7 activation servers have been deactivated, according to
    http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/creative-suite-2-activation-end-life.htm l
    Adobe punts you to
    http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/entitlement/index.cfm?e=cs2%5Fdownloads
However, that page only includes the download for Acrobat 7 Standard. I purchased Pro, and need a couple of its features.
Any ideas how I can get Acrobat 7 Pro to install and activate? Also, I recently upgraded this machine to Windows 8.
    Thanks.

You can also find a download for Acrobat 8 Pro on the same page.  As Mylenium stated though you run into difficulties running Acrobat 8 or 7 on a modern operating system.

  • CS6 Acrobat Pro requires activation -- AGAIN!

I bought CS6, installed it and ran it happily for two months, and then suddenly it said that Acrobat Pro was not activated.  I posted a note in this Forum and was told to reinstall it with the same original activation key, which I did.  It worked.
Now, two months later, it is suddenly telling me again that Acrobat Pro is not activated.  I guess I know what to do (deinstall and reinstall), but this is very annoying to say the least.  What is going on?  Are you doing some automatic update which is wiping out the activation?
I am finalizing a book tonight, wanted to submit it tomorrow, but I guess I get to go to the office tomorrow, deinstall and reinstall, and hope I can get this book submitted on Monday.
    Arghh.

I have my license number, so I thought I would open Adobe Pro X and activate it, but when I ask to open the application it simply does not come up.  Nothing.  No error message, nothing.
I checked again.  I bought the software in mid-July and installed it shortly after receiving it.
The first episode like this happened 6 weeks later.  My posting will be somewhere in this Forum.  At that time, it not only did not come up, bot it actually disappeared off my system by itself -- it was no longer listed in the list of available applications on my system.
Today it is listed as an application, and has a list of the most recently accessed documents, but I cannot get the application to open at all.
I even tried right-clicking and checking the Properties for the application, and asked it to run in Administrator mode, but again it just disappeared off my screen and no application started.

  • Provision of Adobe Acrobat 8.1 activation code for a non-internet connected pc

    Hi
I need to activate Adobe Acrobat 8.1 on a virtual Windows server 2003 system (which is to replace a physical system). This system is in a secure location and is NOT connected to the internet. The option to activate via telephone is no longer available for this version of the product.
Last July we performed a similar activity and via the chat option I provided the product Serial Number and Activation Number and the chat engineer provided me with the Authorisation code.
However this time the chat person stated that the "registration technology for this product has been taken off-line and cannot be re-enabled" and he was unable to provide me with the authorisation codes.
Is this really the case ? Are we going to have to upgrade the version ?
many thanks in advance for your answer

  • Adobe Acrobat 8 phone activation

I have Adobe Acrobat 8.0 installed on a Windows 2003 server. It was working fine, but is now prompting again for activation.
The activation over the internet option does not work.
Phone activation appears to no longer be supported.
The url qouted in the recorded message no longer exists.
The live chat person, said this was a technical issue, was unable to help and directed me here.
I have a valid product serial number and activation code, but am being promted for an authorisation code, which I was hoping to be given over the phone. Can anyone assist?
    Best regards
