Acrobat 7.1.0 tries to reinstall

I changed my video card yesterday and ever since I have had the problem that Acrobat 7.1.0 tries to update itself. When the computer boots into windows I get a message that 7.1.0 is updating, and when I open any program. I get a window that says "please wait while windows configures Acrobat 7.1.0 professional." Then I get a window that says: "Error 1311. Source file not found: C:\Program Files]\Adobe Acrobat7.0\Setup Files\AcroPro\ENU\Data1.cab. Verify that th efile exists and that you can access it."
Well, I have already upgraded to Acrobat 7.1.0, and I do not see the Data1.cab file in the directory stated above. I do not know how this started but I would like to know how to turn it off. If I select "cancel" a couple of times, the process stops only to start again when I open another program.
Anybody have any thoughts on this?

1st is to manually download/install the latest update

2nd is to turn auto-update OFF

  • Acrobat CS3 extended constantly tries to 'reinstall' when selecting files in Vista Pro 64bit

Man this is truly annoying. When I select a file in win explorer I often get the 'Windows must install or reconfigure Acrobat blah, blah, blah' when I wasn't trying to open it in the first place. This has been doing this sporatically ever since I got the software in '08. Now it's doing it constantly. I have reinstalled this program a number of times and it just keeps doing it. Plus why does it have to reinstall when I actively select the shortcut to start the program specifically? This doesn't happen on my XP machines or my Win7 machine. Only in Vista. Anyone got any ideas other than 'reinstall' or upgrade to Win7?

    Thank you for your input.
When my company purchased Adobe's Master Collection CS3 Acrobat 8 Professional came with it. I may have made a mistake in my nomenclature but that still does not change the fact that every time someone right clicks within a file window in Vista Pro, Acrobat starts up and tries to reinstall. If you have some helpful input as to how this may be corrected, we are interested in hearing it.

  • I am trying to reinstall Acrobat 7.0 and keep getting error1310

I have been trying to reinstall my Adobe Acrobat Version 7.0 after a crash. I am now working with Windows Vista. I was told be support to download the CS2 version of the program which I did. The file is entitled 22020134.exe. However, when I attempt to install is I keep getting the error message:
Error 1310.Error writing to file: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 7.0\ActiveX\AcroPDF.DEU. Verify that you have access to that directory.
When I check that directory it is a "Read Only" directory, and I can not change its attributes. Any suggestions?

Acrobat 7 is absolutely not compatible with any 64-bit version of Windows, including Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, and Windows 8.x.
The first version of Acrobat that is compatible with 64-bit Windows is Acrobat 8.1 (an after-installation update to Acrobat 8.0).

You won't be able to install your original Acrobat 7 at all, or use your original serial number. The server which used to allow this was switched off.
But assuming you have a compatible system, like Mac OS 5 or Windows XP, licensed users of Acrobat 7 can download a replacement and get a replacement serial number.

  • I had CS3 installed on my windows 8.1 pc.  There was an issue with the printer so i uninstalled and tried to reinstall.  Now the Acrobat is removed and i cannot get the install to run any longer.  It says setup already running.

I am running Windows 8.1, CS3 appears to be installed but when i go into the programs they will not work.  I have attempted to remove thru add remove programs but it does nothing.  I have tried to reinstall and it says there is already an instance running.  HELP!

restart your computer and check your programs (x86) directory to see if cs3 is installed.
if it's not, install it.  if it is, open one of your installed programs.

  • I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop CS4

I'm trying to reinstall Photoshop CS4 after I had a computer repair. I have my key and I downloaded the 2 files on the adobe dl page for CS4, There's a _LS1 file of 1,200 KB and a larger _LS2.7z file of 796M.  But when I double-click on the LS1 files, which says it's an application, I get an error message that says I need the 'other file', to download the 'other file' and make sure it's in the same directory. But I do have both LS1 and LS2.7z files in the same directory. Any suggestions?  Do I need something to extract the files?
    Thanks in advance!
    Jane

they're not matching files.  ie, you have the archive for a different (like the japanese) ps cs4.
