I purchased acrobat 7.1.0 standard two year ago.
The problem is there is some pdf files that can be open by acrobat reader 9 (free version) but show to be damaged using acrobat standard 7.
I thought all it need is an update.rather than upgrade.

  • Security Update Install Error

Help!!! Software Update keeps telling me that I need to load Security Update 2009-005 (Intel) ver. 1.0, but every time I try to install it I get all the way to the end and this message pops up:
The update "Security Update 2009-005 (Intel)" can't be installed" Sorry, an unexpected error occurred. The Installer package has been moved to the trash. To try again, open the package from the Finder.
I have tried about 20 times and get the same result every time! I cannot go to the iTunes store in iTunes because it says I need version 4.0.5 of Safari, but I cannot load that Safari version because it says I need the latest security update.
Can someone please help me and tell me how to get my stupid security update installed? Thanks, in advance.

    Updating
Certain steps appear to minimize the risk of an update producing problems.
Number one is to make sure you have a bootable clone backup of your computer in case you do need to back out of it again. This is the only guaranteed way of not having to worry about the results of an update.
Some like to boot from their installer discs or an external backup and verify (and if necessary repair) their internal drives as well as drive permissions. This is done with Disk Utility. You can verify a drive while booted from the same drive but sometimes this produces spurious errors. Repairing a drive (if necessary) has to be done while booted from another disk.

    [Disk Utility's Repair Disk Permissions|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=25751]
You can also go to the step of booting into safe mode to do the install.

[Safe Boot takes longer than normal startup|http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107394]
I like to download the update onto my computer and install it from there rather than let Software Update do it. I know a few people who had problems with doing the update via software updater found a manual install to work.
    Repair permissions again afterward.
It helps to only install one update at a time and to run the computer for a while to make sure it is behaving well.
The more cautious even like to unplug third party peripherals (see [comment by BDaqua|http://discussions.apple.com/message.jspa?messageID=9040746#9040746]).
Almost all of the above steps (except backup) have been questioned (e.g., [Permissons repair|http://www.macworld.com/article/52220-3/2006/08/repairpermissions.html] as to necessity. Probably many people have done successful updates without doing them. I say they can't hurt, they can very likely do good (especially if your computer isn't regularly maintained), so why not do them to be safe?

  • After Acrobat 10.1.8 update, Distiller error

I recently pushed via AutoIT script the Acrobat 10.1.8 Pro update only to users who already had Acrobat X installed (a small test group in IT before deploying to almost 300). After the update ran, all of them got an error message. Title bar: Acrobat Distiller, Message: Error initializing interpreter: Fatal error, with OK and X the only options. They were able to open Acrobat X Pro successfully after this and the update had been applied. I need to get this error resolved before deploying the the rest of the users.
We're on Windows 7 Pro SP1. We did recently upgrade to Adobe Reader 11.0.05, though I'm not sure if these folks have both installed. I always recommend to remove Reader before installing Acrobat Pro.

  • Itunes 10.5.3 update install errors on Windows

So if your getting errors when trying to update your Itunes software (say for instance to be able to use your new iPood Touch, required upgrade) and getting errors such as "A network error occurrred while attempting to read from the file C:\WINDOWS\Installer\iTunes.msi", then there is hope!!
Also if you get the error "Errors occurred while installing the udpates.  If the problem persists, choose Tools>Download Only and try installing manually." there is hope.
First if trying to run an update, you'll probably get the second message first.  Once you use the dialog at the top of the updater screen "Tools>Download only>" etc, and run the manually downloaded version of the update, then you might get the first error message listed above.
If this is the case then cruise over to this link and complete this method as it worked great for me at least.  I was getting slightly different messages than the orginal poster but it still worked for me.  Good luck-
Tks to B Noir and JereJohnson for the link and solution-

Tks for the suggestion mitch, however my issue was solved with the method in my post.
For the record I tried disabling my antivirus orginally to solve the update issue to no avail. It didn't work for me since it wasn't the underlying issue.
Once I fixed the installer package problem, I had no problems running the reinstall/update with my antivirus software on and running.

  • After updating, install error "Install Flash Player.exe - Entry point not found"

My current version of Flash Player is: 11.1.102.55. Then after an Update is performed and the download is downloaded, then it tries to install the download and an error message occurs. The error message says - Install Flash Player.exe - Entry point not found - then it says The procedure entry point  SetDllDirectoryW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNAL32.dll.
When I try to uninstall Flash Player I get the same error message above except that it says Uninstall_Flash_Player.exe instead of Install Flash Player.exe.
I'm running WIN2000, my current version of Flash Player is 11.1.102.55 and I’m running Firefox version 12.0.

I believe 10.1.102.64 was the last supported version of Flash Player for Win2k.  That being said, there have been numerous users that have been able to work around the error you are receiving.  Please see this post for details:

  • Adobe Acrobat 9.3.4 Update failure- "Error Applying Transforms, verify that the specified...

I have ignored this issue for long enough.  I have Adobe CS4, with Acrobat Pro version 9.3.4.  Windows 7.  Acrobat updater pops up on my machine, and when I execute the update requested, the updater gives me the update failure message, with code 1604, "error applying transforms."
I have seen solutions posted for this tranforms message, but it was a problem with Acrobat 8.  I have seen no solutions as of yet for Acrobat 9, so I thought I would post.
I also tried opening Acrobat 9 Pro, and under the help tab, I initiated "repair".  I get the same transform error message as above.  Any advice anyone?  Should I just uninstall Acrobat 9 Pro and reinstall using my CS4 disk?
    Thanks for the help!

If you have original CD with Acrobat installation, copy all files with extension .mst from this CD to the following location:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Setup Files\[ProductCode]   if this is 64bit system
    or
    C:\Program Files\Acrobat 9.0\Setup Files\[ProductCode]   if this is 32bit system
where [ProductCode] is a unique value which identifies your language version of Acrobat 9 Pro.
    If this is EFG version, it should be {AC76BA86-1033-F400-7760-000000000004}
If location does not exist, create it.
    2. If you do not have original CD and cannot find .mst files, provide the exact Product name including language and I will provide further instructions.
    Good luck

  • Rollup Update install error - error code 2771

When trying to install the rollup update 7 on a hub/cas server, I get the following error almost immediately:
"The installer has encountered an unexpected error installing this package,.  This may indicate a problem with this package.  The error code is 2771."
I get the same thing when installing from a downloaded install (that I've used on other servers) or via windows update.
I also get two errors in the event log:
    1. MSIinstaller - event id 10005 - same as above but adds "The arguments are: AdminTools" at the end.
    2. MSIinstaller - event id 1023 - "... could not be installed.   Error code 1603.  Additional info is available..."  (no add'l info is in the log file referenced)
I had a similar, if not exact, problem trying to install rollup update 6 and couldn't find any info then...  or now.   Saw one post about disabling symantec endpoint protection (which we don't use) but I tried closing our trend a/v but no diff.
    Oh yeah, the server is Win2k3 R2 x64 SP2.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Hmmm...  Logging... Who 'da thunk it...  Thanks for the suggestion.   :-)
Below are the all lines from the log containing error or debug.  The "...." means that the previous two lines were duplicated numerous times.
The only real reference I found to the admintools error was at this link but it wasn't very helpful. http://blogs.msdn.com/windows_installer_team/archive/2005/08/17/451516.aspx
    Thanks again for any help

  • Update install error

I get this error when attempting to update on Mac.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks
    Adobe Photoshop 13.0.4
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M2P7

Download and install the updates manually.
Go to http://www.adobe.com/downloads/updates and download the update that you are trying to install.

  • 10.4.6 Software Update Install Error

After downloading the 10.4.6 update using Software update on an iBook G4 (1.42 GHz, 1 GB DDR SDRAM, OS X 10.4.5) and pressing the "Install" button, I recieve this error:
"The update cannot be installed: The digital signature for this package is incorrect. The package may have been tampered with or corrupted since being signed by Apple."
I have attempted to install this update multiple times - first over a wifi connection, later on a wired ethernet connection. The package Software Update is downloading obviously contains the correct signature, as it is the same data downloaded and installed by many other OS X users, without a hitch.
Instead, I think the part of OS X that checks for the digital signature is somehow corrupted or otherwise invalid. Where is this component located? Is it something I can fix myself?
I could be entirely wrong, though. Any information would be much appreciated.

hi Spook_y, Welcome to Apple Discussions.
Sorry to hear of your problem.
Instead, I think the part of OS X that checks for the digital signature is somehow corrupted or otherwise invalid. Where is this component located? Is it something I can fix myself?
I can not answer these questions, however if i were you I would dump that one download and follow a brodys advice in his Topic:
Now that 10.4.6 is out, let's review the upgrade steps
    a brody's to update.
I followed this advice, including restarting twice and i have no issues, at all.
    Good luck
    Hope this helps.
    Please keep us posted~ Eme

  • Message received after Adobe Acrobat X Standard reinstall - Update failed Error 1007

    Adobe Acrobat Error 1007
Updates have been disabled by your system policy
    HELP!!  The situation:
    Windows 7 Professional 32-bit .
The product was uninstalled and then reinstalled.
After the reinstall, it never asked for a EULA acceptance, a re-registration  or a re-activation.
It would open a pdfs for about 6 seconds and then close out.
If you tried to do updates from the menu in the program, it would give this error:

This alert was created by a JavaScript code (as you can see from the title of it), which someone obviously did not write very well.
You should be able to open it if you disable JS (Edit - Preferences - JavaScript), and then you can remove this code completely (if the file is not secured).

  • *FIX* Software Updater install errors *FIX*

If you're getting an error 1720 when trying to install Nokia Software Updater, there is a workaround.
The error is only in Nokia's combined installer, not the NSU installer itself.
    1. Download and install 7-Zip. Don't worry it's free!
(No, neither WinRAR nor WinZip will do for this)
    Get it here: http://www.7-zip.org/download.html
    2. Use 7-Zip to extract the contents of NokiaSoftwareUpdaterSetup_en.exe into a folder. You should now have a bunch of folders and a few files.
    3. Go into Packages, then NokiaSoftwareUpdater, then Setup
    4. Launch NokiaSoftwareUpdater.msi (double-click it).
    5. That's it!
I think the problem must be a script Nokia have used in their combined installer, which in itself is unnecessary as NokiaSoftwareUpdater.msi will start the installers for the other apps and drivers anyway. Those crazy Fins!
Whatever, this worked for me so hopefully it'll work for you too! :-)
    I didn't get where I am today.

    .:UPDATE:.
Unfortunately this workaround doesn't work with the updated NSU (version 01.04.053.34607) that came out on July 31st (2008).
Whatever Nokia have done, it now means that even after extracting the installer from the package, you will still get Error 1720.
Nokia, why are you breaking your software for us?! Please simplify the installations so we can keep our devices' firmware up to date. Otherwise what's the point of your programmers constantly coding updates?
    Sheesh!
    I didn't get where I am today.

  • Itunes  Updating Installing Error

I am  trying to update itunes but I am receiving an error.
The  error is " A network error occured while attempting to read from the file
    C:\Windows\Installer\Itunes.msi."

The  error is " A network error occured while attempting to read from the file
    C:\Windows\Installer\Itunes.msi."
Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

  • DW CS5 Update install error

I get the following error while upgrading Dreamweaver CS 5
    Dreamweaver CS5 11.0.4 Updater
    Installation failed. Error Code: U44M1P7
I have done the following to rectitfy the error:
    1. I tried Carey Burgesses help here - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/848587?start=0&tstart=0
    2. Installing the update manually from here - http://www.adobe.com/support/dreamweaver/downloads_updaters.html
    3. As suggested - removing the /AAMUpdater folder here - http://forums.adobe.com/thread/847350?start=0&tstart=0
    4. Tried the "fix" link - http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/902/cpsid_90241.html - dead link
I am not going to reinstall CS5 because I can't get a fix, I'm not all together sold that THAT would fix the error either...
Anyone have an actual solution for this?
    Thanks,
    Ted

Have you posted in that thread with Carey and looked in the other user suggested answers?  Also you may need to post your entire crash log for anything to be fixed when the problem is this specific.
The Photoshop team had a similar issue that was shown to be crashing because of Adobe Player for Embedding and they said the only way was to re-install the individual app and then re-install the patches.  But part of the thread also suggests making sure your OS is up to date as well.

  • Nokia Sofware Updater: install error message ???

I found neither results nor related issues in the forum search. Please help!

    Version 5.1.2600

I had to manually uninstalled NSU because of an error occured with the uninstaller.
Now I want to reinstall it but I have this message when I run the last downloadable setup:
"The version of Nokia Software Updater already installed on this computer is newer than the one you are trying to install. Installation will not continue."
I don't understand how it finds that an older version is installed because I guess I have deleted all NSU related registry keys and directories. I thought I had deleted all the traces of NSU but I guess I was wrong.
Please, can someone could tell me what I must delete (reg key or file) to NSU install normally as new.
    There is no log in

    HELP !!!

Thanks for the tips but I got an issue with this software: "PC Suite Cleaner does not support this version of Nokia PC Connectivity Solution (7.22.7.1). Please contact Nokia support."
    Too bad.
Have I got any other solution?
