Acrobat 8.0 Pro- Cannot Install on Vista

I cannot install acrobat 8.0 pro to my window vista computer.  I have universal Vista on my computer - It means you can use multiple languages.  When I try to install it - at half way of installation its looking for "FONTS/KOZGOPROVI-MEDIUM.OTF" and program stop installing.  When I press cancell it stop installing and start uninstalling the program.
Any idea out there to fix this problem.
Thank you.

As far as I know, the AA8 activation process is still available. It is gone for AA7. It may be an issue with Win7, 64-bit. I have only heard of 2 folks who have been successful with AA8 on a 64-bit system. Many have succeeded with the 32-bit system. I don't know if looking at that aspect will help at all. If you can download the updates separately from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows and successfully install them, maybe that will help (though I have my doubts). I really don't have any other ideas, sorry.

  • Acrobat 7.0 Pro error message in Vista Ultimate..missing printer driver

I use to have Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional installed on my other computer with had XP Pro as its operating system. I could convert any Word 2003 document into a PDF and e-mail it without any problems. I just purchased a new computer with Vista Ultimate 64 bit and every time I try to convert a Word document into a PDF I get an error message that says it can't find the printer driver and to please re-install Acrobat. I did what it said and I keep getting the same error message. I even installed the newest Adobe Reader like it said. I know my printer driver works. Does anyone have a solution? It seems all the money you spend on Adobe products their support staff just wants to wash their hands and send you on some wild goose chase looking for answers on their un-user friendly site instead of answering the question or making any recommendations. If I have to update it so be it. They should have told me that. This is the last time I will fork over $600 on any of their products because their service stinks. I appreciate any help from anyone who has experienced this same problem or who knows how to rectify it. God Bless, Tony

Hi Michael, Thank you so much for the reply. You would think Adobe Support could have told me that so I really appreciate it. Do you know what I need to do to upgrade it ? Can I find an upgrade on E-Bay or do I need to go to COMP USA or some other place to buy the upgrade? Last, what exactly am I looking for to upgrade it to the newest version. (Name of product). I will also remove the other program so it won't have any other issues once I get the upgrade. Thanks again and God Bless, Tony

  • HP Officejet Pro cannot install on laptop via wireless

Trying to install a new HP8600 Pro Plus.  I have configured the wireless on the printer, and it is connected to my wireless network, has an IP address and good signal strength.  When I try to add this printer on my laptop (I have now tried several laptops), it cannot find it.
I have uninstalled the driver software, and downloaded from the HP site - reinstalled, etc.  I have power cycled the printer itself.
I see a lot of posts about this same problem, but not seeing any good answers.
    This question was solved.

I worked with HP tech support today.  We ended up having to change the Channel on my router from 1 to 11.  Once we did that, I was able to connect to the printer.  Once this was done, I was also able to connect from my iPohone via AirPrint.

  • Replaced HDD in MacBook Pro - Cannot Install OS X

I upgraded my brother's 2007 MacBook Pro with a new 500GB hard drive. The installation went smoothly, hardware-wise it wasn't too difficult. The real issues (of course) begin where you think it will be easiest - the software.
My brother told me that there might be a problem with his DVD drive, something I didn't take too seriously. I put in his copy of Snow Leopard and it loaded before I did anything with the computer on the desktop, took a little while. So I tried to boot off the disc, using either Option or C, and it would spin and hum for about 1 minute before spitting it out and displaying the flashing question mark logo (no bootable volume).
So I grabbed a few other discs that I have to see what I could do. I created a bootable Lion disc, that did not work either. However, I pulled out a disc I had for my 2006 MacBook, and after flashing the PRAM twice I was able to boot that into Disk Utility and format the hard drive to Extended Journaled. Unfortunately, the disc, due to either incompatibilty or copy protection, I wasn't able to install any operating systems. "[OS X] cannot be installed on this computer." Not even base off of to build my way back up to Snow Leopard. Ironically, this is the only disc the computer seems to want to boot from.
Things I tried: Target Disk Mode, before and after formatting the new drive. Nothing shows up on my 2009 iMac running Lion. I even tried the trick where you put a bootable disc in the iMac and send that into Target Disk Mode to try and let the MacBook use the working DVD drive. Still nothing. So I've got a blank, properly-formatted hard drive sealed inside a MacBook Pro, and no real way to install an operating system that I can imagine. Any ideas?

    Dave Derwin wrote:
I sort of figured that my older MacBook disc wouldn't work but I was desperate to install anything on this drive by now.
If any of the other discs are older or came with a different Mac, that may also be an issue. You need the original install disc or a retail version of an OS newer than the version which his Mac shipped with.
Yes, I connected to my iMac with Target Disk Mode and did not see this drive appear in Disk Utility, the Finder, nor the Lion installer i opened for testing.
    Hmmm, not good.
The 2006 boot disc seems to be the only one out of all the ones I own that this MacBoom with respond to. I can get to Disk Utility, see my new HDD, and at this moment Im doing a Zero Out erasure, after solely partitioning it didn't seem to help matters.
I do not know if the Disk Utility software changed from 2006, but I'm wondering if that could be an issue. See my comments above on which disc to use.
I thought about flashing an external hard drive and trying to boot / install from that. Could you point me to a tutorial for that?
You need to boot from an install disc (proper one) and select the external to install to. What would be easier is to install the old HD in an external enclosure and boot from it, or is that dead? If so, were there any backups prior to death?
Taking this drive out and installing with an enclosure is the last thing I want to do, for obvious reasons.
Understood, but if it needs to be done . . . .
I've read posts here about various HDs needing firmware updates, using too much power (acting weird). Have you checked the manufacturer's website and/or contacted their tech support?
IDK how or why it would have helped, or maybe even if it was coincidence, but I've read posts here which claimed a PRAM and/or SMC reset helped in situations like yours. Certainly wouldn't hurt to try.

    HELP!!!!!
    thanks in adavance

BootCamp Assistant never created a proper NTFS partition that Vista would accept without deleting and creating from Vista's DVD installer.
Just having OS X present can also cause it to fail to install, so pulling the drive helps.
I just use Disk Utility and give Vista a 10K Raptor or something. Also, MacFUSE + 3G allows writing to NTFS, and formatting partitions as NTFS, IF you also go to Partition Options... and set it to use MBR instead of GUID.
+Glad you got it up and running.+

I am running Vista under boot camp. I downloaded the Safari beta, the installer gets most of the way "done" but then it fails with a dialog saying error 2738.

    1. Start Menu -> All Programs -> Accessories -> Right Click on Command
    Prompt -> Run As Administrator.
    2. If you don’t end up in the C:\windows\system32 folder, go there
    3. Once there type in regsvr32 vbscript.dll and press enter
    4. You should get a conformation message
    5. Install safari
Please shoot me an e-mail if this works... Thanks

  • Cannot install in Vista 32 Bit SP1

    Hi
I've called support in the USA but they could not help.
I've checked answers to similar topics on this forum but to no avail.
    This is what's happening:
Download and extract is working fine.
When I click on set up file windows opens for 4 secs then closes.
    Things I have tried:
    Rebooted
    Rebooted in safe mode
Tried it with user account control on and off
Tried it with AVG firewall turned off
Ran system restore and re-downloaded again
Went into msconfig and disabled start up programs.
Any ideas? I want to try this product first before shelling out £££'s.

    Julian,
Adobe's Tech Support for installation issues is free. In my few uses of this service, it has been fast (even limited hold time), and they have quickly and easily solved every install problem that I've had over 20 years. I'd try them again.
You have already done most of the things that I'd have recommended. I don't have any tricks to try, beyond what you have already attempted.
Fortunately, I (and most of the people here) have not had any install problems. It is something beyond our expertise. What I do know of install issues, I've picked up in the various Adobe forums. Only problem I've ever had was a multi-version upgrade to AI, and my ancient S/N was not in the new version's database. Adobe gave me the keys that I needed in about 2 mins., with 5 mins. hold. Quick and easy.
You are posting into the best forum for CS3. Unfortunately, your problem is not, "where's the Ripple Delete Tool?"
Be patient, as maybe someone here WILL have had your problem. The majority will not. Sorry.
Give Adobe another call, and maybe you'll get a good tech rep this time.
Also, Harm was just stating what I did, but with fewer words (and commas!).
i Sorry, inside joke around around here.
    Good luck,
    Hunt
[EDIT] Did you have either a "trial" version, or a beta version installed before? If so, check out the Premiere-pedia for installing after using the "trial." One needs to uninstall, use the Clean-script,
    b THEN
    do the install. Premiere-pedia:

  • Macbook Pro cannot install operating system

I started a thread http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?threadID=2793307&tstart=0 about my problems but found no solution. Today I ran Apple Hardware tests and found this error "4hdd/11/40000004:SATA(0,0)" I found some other posts that said I had to get a new hard drive, is this my only option?

What is your S.M.A.R.T. Status. See Disk Utility--> top level in left column.
It seems your AHT is indicating Hard drive.
Your other option is to boot off external clone if you do not want to replace your internal hard drive.

  • Testing plugin in Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro

    Hi,
I am trying to use Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro to test a plug-in I have created.
I have previous loaded and tested this plug-in in Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended and it works.
Is there something I need to do to load this plug-in in Acrobat 9.0 Pro?
    Thanks,
    Jesse Perry

    Bernd,
I have a test box with Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro Extended installed which I have used for testing with this plug-in for 3 months. I developed this code using Visual Studio 2005. The plug-in works on this system. I loaded Adobe Acrobat 9.0 Pro on another test machine and copied the same plugin to the plug_ins directory of this machine from the Pro Extended plug_ins directory on the previous machine. When I start Acrobat 9.0 Pro, I don't see the menu that I created for the plug-in as I do on the original test machine.
Is it wrong to test it on a different machine from where it was compiled?
