ACROBAT 8.0 VIEWING MULTIPLE PDF FILES

Hello,
I've just installed Adobe 8.0 Professional and am having issues if I have multiple pdf files open. When I move the mouse the window will toggle to a different pdf file. This was not an issue with Adobe 7. Is anyone else experiencing this same issue?
Thanks,
Tina

Tina,
You'll have better luck if you post this on the Acrobat User-to-User forum. This Acrobat 3D forum deals specifically with 3D issues.

  • View multiple pdf files in one page

    Hi experts!
I have to build a mobile website that will show multiple pdf files (not just the links) on one page for comparison. I've found out that using iFrames or embedded object is not an option since scrolling is not available in either of them. What do you suggest I use for this purpose?
    Any help is appreciated.
    Thanks in advance.

    Save combined PDFs
Open the PDFs you want to combine.
In each open PDF, choose View > Thumbnails to display the pages of the PDF in the sidebar.
Drag the thumbnails you want to add (Command-click to select noncontiguous pages) to the thumbnail sidebar in the other PDF.You can add pages to the end of the document or between pages in a document. Drag thumbnails to reorder them. You can also add a PDF file before or after another PDF document.
Choose File > Export to save a new PDF containing all of the combined pages, or choose File > Save to replace the original version of the destination PDF with the version containing the combined pages.

  • Acrobat 9.5.5 multiple .pdf files open without toolbars displaying

Recently, I noticed that, when I open one .pdf file, all toolbars I have selected as customized are displayed.  But, upon opening additional ,pdf files, those files do not display my toolbars at the top - only the file menu shows up.  If I try to close the limited toolbar files, I get the error "Adobe Acrobat 9.5 has stopped working," and the programs aborts.  I've searched the web to no avail for a solution.  My work requires I have multiple Adobe files open, but these additional files have extremely limited functionality without the toolbars.
Event Viewer indicates the following errors:
    Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe
    Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 9.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.dll
I'm running Win 7 Pro 64-bit, on Intel i7, with 14 GB RAM, 224GB SSD/68 GB free.  My system should more than amply support the application.
My thought is a recent Adobe update or Windows update caused this anomaly.  Has anyone else experienced this issue?  Please advise - I'm desperate for a resolution.  Thanks.

Update - when you select View -Toolbars on the additional files, all the customized toolbars are check-marked, so they should be displaying.  But, they don't.

    Bill@VT,
Thank you for your reply.  Your recommendation is not the issue for sure.  I had tested by opening numerous files on my system, which I know are not secure.  The first file opened with all toolbar functionality, and the rest of the files opened in limited view.  These are files I've created and opened numerous times in the past with no issues, until recently.
I've since installed Adobe Pro XI Trial, as well as a couple other .pdf maker apps.  I had already remove Adobe Pro 9.5.5, so I can't reinstall while I have XI on my system - the installation aborts.  My assessment, after spending hours researching it, is that there's a conflict in my OS and 9.5.5.  At this point, I have to cut my losses (time & billable hours) and move onto a more stable, dependable application.  It's probably not going to be an Adobe product, sad to say.  Too many issues, too little accessible and timely support.
I am grateful for your input in my scenario. Have a splendid day/evening!

  • Unable to open multiple PDF files in Acrobat 9 Pro - Vista

I have a staff member that is unable to open more than one PDF at a time.  If a PDF is currently open and another one is selected the program will crash and close.  It gives a message stating the program has crashed and must be closed and also gives an option to check online for a solution.  Has anyone else seen this issue or know a fix for it?  Thanks in advance.

No. Starting with Acrobat 9 it is no longer possible to open multiple PDF files in the same window.

  • Open multiple pdf files using Acrobat Reader?

Can we open and switch between multiple pdf files using Acrobat Reader?

Of course, but if it's Reader X or later each file will appear in its own window. This can't be changed.

  • Merging Multiple PDF Files in C# using Acrobat 7.0

I'm trying to merge multiple pdf files into one pdf file. Does anyone have sample or psuedo code for this?

Basicly, there has not much changed since version 5 so you can use also vers. 8 SDK / IAC section.
The command you to use is "insert", where the first page has to be opened and the other pages will be inserted.
If you google for PdDoc.insert you may get tons of examples and maybe also in C.
If you use Acro-Javascript via IAC you may find an example direct in the AcroJs helpfile.

  • How do i combine multiple pdf file into a single pdf file?

how do i combine multiple pdf files into a single pdf file?

The thread was started in early March and it's Mid-April, I know this very well. The OP of this thread posted a very common and simple question or maybe he/she would have resolved this. For an Adobe Acrobat user it's not at all difficult to combine multiple PDF files into one. But to combine PDF files full version of Adobe Acrobat is mainly required, otherwise PDF files can't be combined. For example, I'm using Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro. These simple steps are mainly required to combine PDF files:
    Open Adobe Acrobat.
Click on Combine and click on Merge files into a single PDF.
A window will be appearing, click on Add Files and select the PDF files you want to combine.
Arrange the selected files in any order with the help of Move Up and Move Down button.
Now click on Combine File and the selected PDF files will be combined within a few seconds.
A new PDF file will be created. Click on Save As and name this new PDF file. Then, click on Save.
A new PDF file will be created and all the selected PDF files are combined in it. The steps shown above might be different in other versions of Adobe Acrobat. Other than this, some third-party PDF merge software are also available. Most of them are available with a demo version for free evaluation. I've heard much about SysInfoTools PDF Merge software on other forums and directories and it's demo version is freely available. One may check its demo version if Adobe Acrobat (full version) is not available.

  • View Multiple PDFs in tabs in ONE window in ADOBE 9

OK...so after hours of uninstalling and reinstalling adobe 9 to get past adobe's multiple error messages and running CHCKDSK and Windows registry cure I finally get Adobe reader 9 to work, only to find out that
I can not view multiple pdf's in one window in tiled tabs. Basically I need to have several pdf's open in one window in adobe. I'm a student and writer and deal with multiple e-books at once for dissemination and I do not want them open in multiple windows, just one window with multiple tabs.
In adobe 8 this option was in preferences. It does not exist in adobe 9. I can not have all these pdfs open in different windows, I want multiple pdfs to open in one window.
This has been a very frustrating evening dealing with adobe 9. I wish I would have never installed it in the first place. I probably won't be buying 9 pro, its pretty crazy that there are all these frustrations. This whole thing with the Error 2330.Error getting file attributes C:\Program Files\AdobeReader 9.0 GetLastError:1392 which I finally fixed myself and then to find that there is not any way to view multiple pdf's in one adobe 9 window--at least according to what can be found here on adobe, I'm just in tears. I'm not a technical person and I have things due on monday. This is very frustrating.

The change is due to Adobe's following Microsoft's user interface
guidelines. I would recommend getting MS to change its tune.

  • Printing multiple PDF files in Windows 7 at once

When I had Windows XP I could select multiple pdf files in their folder then right click to print.  With Windows 7 this option is no longer there. I have searched everywhere for a solution to this problem.  I am not sure why Adobe (or Microsoft) took this option away.  I have to print 30 to 40 invoices a day.  I now currently have to open each individual document, print, close, and move on to the next.  This is quite cumbersome.  If anyone knows of a way around this I would appreciate the help.
If no solution is available does Abode know of the situation?

your right.  I am using Acrobat.  didn't even know I had it. I've been bugging the IT guy for Acrobat for a while.  I have no idea how long it's been installed.  I had just bugged him again last week.
reader is still set as my default.  without even realizing it, i've only been using acrobat to combine and print large files.
the only way to combine pdf's in reader is to use Adobe's online service which you have to pay for.
I'm sure there's some third party software out there.    I use bluebeam to mark up pdf's.  it's free.
don't know if it can be used to print or combine multiple files.  never tried.
the method of dragging and dropping pdf files into the printer window does work with reader. (I checked)
As I said, it prints the documents out of order which can be a pain.
I found this discussion because I was searching for a way to get the documents to print in order.  Haven't found one......yet.

  • Convert Multiple Outlook Emails to Multiple PDF Files (Not Portfolio or Single PDF) for Archiving?

Hi all, I am learning how to convert emails to PDF files and there is some great functionality there!!  I have not discovered how to convert multiple outlook emails into multiple PDF files (one PDF file for each email) - all at the same time (not one at a time)!!  Is there a way to do this using Acrobat X??  The purpose of this is for long-term business archiving.  When I search for an email in the archive, I do not want to pull up a portfolio containing 1000 emails or a 1000 page PDF file with multiple emails run together!!!  I want to pull up individual emails containing my search terms.  I have been searching for a way to archive emails and MS OUTLOOK .PST files are NOT the answer.  I get a lot of business emails with large attachments and I do not file my emails in separate sub-folders (by client or job).  I want to convert multiple emails (by date range) from my UNIVERSAL INBOX into multiple PDF files for long term storage (with each email being converted into its own, separate PDF file and named with the same name as the "Re: line" of the email).  This has been a HUGE problem for me....and Acrobat is sooooo close to the solution for me.  Can anyone help??  If so, will attachments be converted?  If not, is there a separate software program or add-in that I can buy that will do this??  I use MS Office 2010, Adobe Acrobat X Pro, Windows 7 64 BIT.  Thanks for your help!!

I am a retired person and did'nt realize I already have a Adobe account, so you can scrap the entire information. Thanks for the trial anyway and have a great week.

  • Convert 1 single microsoft word document with section breaks to multiple pdf files

I am a windows 7 users. I have a single microsoft word document which contain 1500 pages. These 1500 pages are seperated by sections breaks in the microsoft word. I am trying to convert this word document to multiple pdf files seperated by the section breaks in the Microsoft word. How can I convert the single microsoft word document with section breaks to multiple seperate pdf files?

Acrobat (Adobe PDF Printer and PDFMaker ) doesn't recognize the Section breaks.  It never has as far as I am aware.  The easiest thing to do is to manually break up a copy of the MS Word Document into the Sections you need and then create the PDFs from those MS Word documents.

  • How to create multiple pdf files from multiple batch processing

I have several file folders of jpeg images that I need to convert to separate multi-page pdf files. To give a visual explanation:
Folder 1 (contains 100 jpeg image files) converted to File 1 pdf (100 pages; 1 file)
Folder 2 (contains 100 jpeg image files) converted to File 2 pdf (100 pages; 1 file)
    and so on.
I know I can convert each folder's content as a batch process, but I can only figure out how to do so one folder at a time. Is it at all possible to convert multiple folders (containing jpegs) to multiple pdf files? Put differently, does anyone know how to process a batch of folders into multiple (corresponding) pdf files?
    Many thanks.

There are two approaches to do this:
    - First convert all JPG files to PDF files using a "blank" batch process. Then combine all PDF files in the same folder using another batch process and a folder-level script (to do the actual combining). I have developed this tool in the past and it's available here:
    http://try67.blogspot.com/2010/10/acrobat-batch-combine-all-files-in.html
    - The othe option is to do everything in a single process, but that requires an application outside of Acrobat, which I'm currently developing.
If you're interested in any of these tools, feel free to contact me personally.

  • Can I use Visual Basic to covert form user data from multiple .pdf files to a single .csv file?

Can I use Visual Basic to covert form user data from multiple .pdf files to a single .csv file?  If so, how?

You can automate Acrobat using IAC (InterApplication Communications), as documented in the Acrobat SDK. Your program could loop through a collection of PDFs, load them in Acrobat, extract the form data from each, and generate a CSV file that contains the data.
Acrobat can also do this with its "Merge Data Files into Spreadsheet" function, but this is a manual process.

Hey thanx for the help, it worked like a charm.
I think firefox changed the application lay out, as I used to be able to choose my PDF opener from the list at " Adobe Acrobat Forms Document' where I could choose Nitro-PDF reader, but it has now moved all the way to the bottom like you suggested to the obvious place of "Portable Document Format" section.
If someone didn't tell me , I wouldn't have scrolled all the way down to be able to find it... it really should be with all its cousins up the top...
    Cheers again..
