Acrobat 8.1.0 Pro must purchase SW to get to 8.1.3 or can update

Can I install updates or patches to secure our licensed

Note: If you have a licensed version of Acrobat 8.1.0 you can
update to 8.1.3. However, you will need to apply the 8.1.1 and
8.1.2 patches first (also freely available with a licensed version)
- you cannot patch directly from 8.1.0 to 8.1.3.

I'm in the same position, the store said they didn't know of any new release, so i bought my macbook pro to find out about mountain lion. I really hope that i'm not going to pay for the upgrade. New to apple, also last month bought my Ipad 3, really thought that Airplay would have been on my book pro, nope, waste of time.........need that update to use it. Back i the box then, get the windows 7 ultimate pro back out until then.

  • Get ical error msg 404 on both my MacBook pros, but not my MacPro Desktop. Same ical ver 5.02 & all are OSX Lion. Both MacBooks get ical stuck with error msg & I must force quit to get rid of window. How can I fix?

Upgraded both my MacBook Pro Laptops, the 2011 - 13" and my 2006 - 15" to OSX Lion. Then I upgraded my MacPro Desktop also to OSX Lion.  No problems with MacPro, but iCal, when I open on both my laptops, constantly comes up with Error msg 404 as follows:  "The Server responded with an error.  The URL https://p03-caldav.icloud.com/286232046/principal encountered HTTP error 404.  Make sure URL is correct."  When I click OK, I just get a duplicate error message immediately and I can do nothing with iCal or my computer until I force-quit iCal.
iCal on all 3 of my mac is Ver 5.01 (1571), but only my laptops are affected with this problem.  What can I do?

  • Acrobat 7 on macbook pro

I'm trying to install Acrobat 7.0 on a MacBook Pro 10.1 and keep getting the following error message, "You can't open the application "Adobe Acrobat 7.0 Professional" because PowerPC applications are no longer supported." Can someone give me a simple explanation of this problem and if there is a workaround solution?

It's available both as a cloud version (subscription) and a purchased version.
(It isn't like Creative Suite, where the Creative Cloud products are newer).

  • Error when trying to install Adobe Acrobat Pro, recently purchased.

Recently purchased Adobe Acrobat Pro, when trying to install get an error message 'Your account subscription cannot be validated'. Have tried several times, double checked login etc, but same message each time.
Please help, how to fix this issue??

    Hi camelon,
Please delete the "Acrobat" and "OOBE" folders found in
    on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Application Support/Adobe
    on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe
    on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Local\Adobe
and delete the "Acrobat" folder found in
    on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Preferences
    on Windows XP: <youruser>\Local Settings\
    on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe
Then launch Acrobat. It will go through the first launch experience of asking for UI language, AdobeID, etc.
If there's no change in behavior, please attempt to go to:
    https://na1mbls.licenses.adobe.com
If you can't get to this website there may be a firewall or other software blocking the connection. Acrobat must be able to reach this https URL and 3 others in order to complete and monitor the subscription/trial process.
If you can view the page at this URL, then please send the PDApp.log and amt3.log file from
    on Mac: <yourusername>/Library/Logs/PDApp.log
    on Windows 7: <youruser>\AppData\Local\Temp
    to [email protected]
    Regards,

  • Why don't AutoCAD drawings converted by Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro print?

I have been using Adobe Acrobat 6.01 Professional to make PDF files from my AutoCAD 2002 drawings. I email these PDF files to a client who prints them. My drawings are 2D with a 24 x 36 inch sheet size. The Adobe conversion buttons were automatically installed on my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar when installed Acrobat 6.01 Pro. When I would make a PDF file I went to the layout view of the drawing, and click the button “Convert to Adobe PDF”. Everything worked GREAT. I would email the PDF drawing files to the client, and they sent them to the printer and produced their hard copy drawings.
A few months ago I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 4 Design Premium. After installing this suite my Acrobat 6.01 Pro was replaced by Acrobat 9.1 Pro, and the Adobe conversion buttons were removed from my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar. I now have to either try to create the PDF files from within Acrobat 9.1 Pro, or from within AutoCAD by selecting Adobe PDF as my plot device and plotting them. A PDF file is created with either method which can be opened and viewed as a normal, but neither will print on my client’s printer. When sent to the printer they get a “parsing error.” Also these PDF files are about half the megs of those created by using the conversion buttons on the AutoCAD toolbar for Acrobat 6.01 Pro.
I have up dated Acrobat 9.1 Pro to Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro, and do like the many new features. I set up the recourse path for the text, plot, and styles in Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro. Nothing I tried fixed the problem, so I uninstalled Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro and reinstalled Acrobat 6.01 Pro. Everything is back to normal, and the Adobe conversion buttons are back on my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar?
I would like to be able to use Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro because of its new features, but Acrobat 6.01 Pro and Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro can’t exist on my computer at the same time. Is there a fix for Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro? Is there a way to get the Adobe conversion buttons back on my AutoCAD 2002 toolbar? What am I doing wrong? I’m running Windows XP and have read about Acrobat 9 Pro includes a Windows-only PDFMaker for AutoCAD. Supposedly PDFMaker runs inside of AutoCAD, but will it run inside of AutoCAD 2002? Is PDFMaker inside of folder with Acrobat 9.1.2 Pro? HELP.

Over the weekend I wiped my hard drive and did a total clean instal of Leopard (not Snow Leopard) - total clean meaning I had to find all my serial numbers when reinstalling apps. A lot of work.
The problems with InDesign have cleared up, but my Acrobat problem remains. However, I have isolated the problem: it occurs after I have done an "Examine document..." and removed all metadata and other stuff, then resaved the file. I close the saved file and the file closes leaving an empty window (same as a Microsoft Windows window). The little clock mouse icon spins wildly around (forever), I tell Acrobat to either close this window or quit, and it crashes.
Acrobat closes other "unexamined" documents without any problems and thus I have been able to save my toolbars...
Anyone else have this crashing problem? Does anyone have a solution?
Note: if anyone else does a total reinstal of Leopard from Snow Leopard then export your iCal calendars first. They were the only things I lost and this loss was (fortunately) no big deal as they were backed up elsewhere in Leopard.

I recently purchased QuickTime 7 Pro to convert avi files to mov files for editing on Imovie. However, QuickTime won't play the files. How can I get them to play and how can I convert them to mov files?
Both the AVI and the MOV file extensions refer to the file container and not the compressed data the file contains. Both are generic file containers in that each may contain any valid combination of audio and/or video data that is compatible with the codec component configuration of the system on which the file was created. On the other hand, whether a file is playback compatible, conversion compatible, and/or edit compatible depends on the data actually contained in the file container. So, you are basically dealing with two separate issues here—the container and what is inside it.
Basically, if you want to make your files ediit compatible with iMovie, you must change your file container to one that is acceptable to iMovie and convert the data to edit compatible audio and/or video compression formats as may be necessary. The best approach is to determine what codecs were actually used to create the original AVI files and add them to your system if possible. In most cases a codec package like Perian can be added to your system's codec component configuration to may the AVI file playable. Once they are playable, in the QT 7 app then they can be chnged or converted to file types and compression formats that can be edited in iMovie. (While Perian handles most codecs commonly used to create AVI files, it does not handle all possibilities and, while the Perian codec package still works under cureent Mac OS versions, its development group has decided to drop further development/support of the package.)
Background: AVI is a file container originally developed by Microsoft back in 1992 but for which official support was discontinued about 11 years. Despite its limitations, Windows users still tend to use this file based on its open source ease of use and generic nature, thus, making its use so popular that most users are unwilling to switch to more modern but less generic file types. Since some AVI legacy compression formats have never been transcoded for the Mac or use beyond OS 9 or OS X PPC platforms, it is often important to know what specific compression formats are contained in the AVI file to know which codecs to add to your system and which not to add in order to avoid possible codec conflicts.
You can use many different converters to convert AVI files to iMovie edit compatible files. Most third-party apps contain their own buit-in codecs which do not relay on the Mac codec component configuration. Free ones, like HandBrake, usually have limited conversion capabilities while those that have more varied outputs are usually commercial in nature and will cost you additional cash. QT 7 Pro or the free MPEG Streamclip app allow you to access you own system's component configuration and use any available codec component like DV, AIC, MPEG-4, H.264, Photo JPEG, etc.—all of which are iMovie compatible for editing purposes—but only after making the AVI file QT 7 player compatible.
In order to determine what compression formats wewre used in your AVI files you can
    1) Try checking the Finder "Info" window,
    2) Use the "Inspector", "Media Info", or "Properties" window of any player app that will open the file, or
    3) Use a general media utility app like "MediaInfo" to read the file characteristics.

Yes, Premiere Pro can be purchased seperately.  It will come with Adobe Encore (DVD, Blu-ray), OnLocation (Logging, firewire capture) and Adobe Media Encoder (output generator) for $799 list US.  Internally, we refer to this as the Premiere Family...
Will Pro work with Windows XP, 32 bit?
No.  Premiere Pro is a 64-bit ONLY application and is only OFFICIALLY supported on the PC platform for Windows 7-64.  We do not officially support Vista 64bit but it should work just fine.
    Hope this helps,

  • DVD Studio Pro must be serialized first......

OK.... this is super bizarre. I've used Quicktime to export MPEG-2's for time beyond memory. However, we purchased an additional license of FCP Studio.... so I deleted all the ID files off of this machine and entered the newer serial number when I was prompted.... serializing all of my FCP Studio apps. Now whenever I try to export MPEG-2 files out of Quicktime I get this oh-so-lovely error:
DVD Studio Pro must be serialized first in order to run Quicktime MPEG Encoder.
    Isn't that grand?
Now I realize that I could go through the painful and very lengthy steps of finding all of the FCP Studio files, preferences, support files, etc. and chucking them.. and then go through the nice, lengthy 2 hour install and put everything back on... however, I see this as very un-Maclike... has Apple truly made the FCP Studio ownership experience this tedious? This reminds me oh so much of my.... ahem... Winbloze experiences.
Anyone have a solution for this besides doing the standard solution that Windows users have to go through when something breaks? (aka reinstalling bloody everything and hoping to **** that it actually works?)

Have you just opened DVD SP and re-entered the serial number?
If not then do so, if DVD SP isn't installed then install it, then open it and input the serial number, that's all it's asking for.
The Mpeg 2 encoder is part of the DVD SP's install and activated when DVD SP is launched and serialized.
