Acrobat 8.1.2 on Vista Home Prem. SP1 - Adobe Printer Failure

I've searched these forum for a similar case but I've been unable to find a fix.
I had to uninstall and reinstall this Acrobat Standard 8.1.2 on a system with Vista Home Premium (32bit). I could not print to the Adobe printer from Outlook Express, MS Publisher, Internet Explorer until I disabled UAC. With UAC disabled it works fine. This program was working fine before I had to reinstall it. Do you know if there is a MS Hotfix to fix this version of Windows? I see references to the 64bit version. Any help would be appreciated. Apologies if this has already been addresses.

OK, here is a new twist. I had a problem with a program called Blood Pleasure Tracker by Soundtells. I lost a year of data. Note sure what happened but I decided to restore to a point yesterday that was just before installing installing Adobe Acrobat the last time hoping I would get the data back. I thought there might be trouble with Adobe after restoring to this point so I did another install and then did an Uninstall with a program called REVO Uninstaller. (REVO Uninstaller was reviewed in PC World). I used it to get a clean uninstall. When I reinstalled Acrobat and the 8.1.2 update everything worked! Acrotray was still running. UAC was also reactivated. The one thing that I think made a big difference is the REVO Uninstaller has several option to more toughly do a clean uninstall. I used the medium selection. It listed some registry entries that it thought could be deleted. I don't like messing with the registry so I declined that option. It also scanned and listed a bunch of files that were left in the Adobe directory. I made the selection to delete those. I wonder if there was something in those files that doesn't get written over on the install but can cause the problem I was having with the printer. Everything worked after that. <br /><br />It should be noted that I had no problems with Acrobat AA8.1.2 until I did an uninstall via the control panel and they tried to do an install. I did the uninstall because It started showing the registration screen each time I brought it up even though I had registered it. I think Registry First Aid caused that little problem. Windows Vista Home Prem SP1, iTunes 76, after install, refuses to launch

I have just resinstalled Windows Vista Home Premium to a 1 yr old Acer 5610 laptop.
Installed Vista SP1.
Downloaded and installed latest (v7.6.something) iTunes and let it do the full, all apple media installation. It seemed OK, showed his music, let us reactivate the computer and loginto iTunes store.
But now, one day later, when he starts computer, it refuses to lauch when iTUnes is clicked. just acts as if nothing was happening.
So tried to uninstall iTUness and planned to do a reinstall, but now the uninstall has been running 30 minutes and seems to be doing nothing.
Any thoughts on what is going on here?
Should I force the uninstall by using a 3rd party Uninstaller tool?
Should I download iTunes + Quicktime separately as EXE and run the installer again (I have downloaded it (57MB) to my Mac and plan to take it over to the Vista laptop on Monday when i am there again).
Any other thoughts on why it worked once after the install and now has gone silent?

Well that's weird that it quit working. Was that the first time the PC had been restarted since a lot of stuff got installed?
The uninstall shouldn't take more than a min or so.
Use the Microsoft Installer Cleanup Tool:

Norton or other security software can cause that, there are several other reasons too...

As a temporary workaround, I believe this Adobe management page allows you to clear your "Flash cookies": [http://www.macromedia.com/support/documentation/en/flashplayer/help/settings_manager07.html Adobe - Flash Player : Settings Manager - Website Storage Settings panel] (hosted on macromedia.com -- Macromedia was the original developer of Flash).
Regarding the script error, if I'm reading the script correctly, it is related to accessing your Flash cookies directory. It seems the publisher's support forum is not currently available for searching, but that might be a good next step.
In the meantime, could you check whether the script has the correct location for your Flash cookies directory? If you can't access Tool > BetterPrivacy, you could check here:
(1) In a new tab, type or paste '''about:config''' in the address bar and press Enter. Click the button promising to be careful.
(2) In the filter box, type or paste '''bpr''' and pause while the list is filtered
(3) There should be a bolded setting named '''extensions.bprivacy.DataDir''' which looks approximately like the following:
C:\Users\''yourWindowsUsername''\AppData\Roaming\Macromedia
Do you have a similar value? If you paste the path used by BetterPrivacy into a Windows Explorer window, does it open? Also, click a couple levels in the folder, can you see:
Flash Player \ #SharedObjects
If the value is wrong, right-click the wrong value and choose Reset. BetterPrivacy should update the value the next time you try to access it.
If the value is blank, you could try inserting a sensible value and see whether that helps.

Windows Vista Home prem Sleep issues on macpro

Hi all i recently purchased a Macbook Pro 15" 2.5 processor and duel booted it with vista home prem,
(i use refit as my boot-up program)
recently after using the vista side more often i've discovered that if i leave the laptop on and its idle it will go into sleep or hibernation not sure which one(i use a LED mouse which stays on during the laptops 'sleep' state), however i cannot re-awake the laptop from this state i usually have to turn the laptop off then on again, when entering windows after i have done this it says its recovered from a serious error and would i like to start in safe mode etc..
i was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and knows a way to solve it,

It is possible that even the latest Apple BootCamp 2.1 drivers don't handle the latest MBP hardware.
Early on, hibernation was a problem for anyone on Vista, PCs as well as Macs.
I have to unplug my mouse and keyboard when it goes into hibernation. When you restart in that manner, do you do a chkdsk or have any errors crop up as a result? I know on OS X side that can leave the disk dirty and in need of repair.
PS: I thought you were talking about the desktop MacPro, not the MacBook Pro...

Need Help upgrading IQ816t Touchscreen from Vista Home Prem to Win7 Ult

I purchased (eBAY) 25" IQ816t with Vista Home Prem, and seller provided Win7 Ult AIO disk with the deal. Seller reset to base OS prior to shipping to me. Everything works fine w/Vista.
When trying to run the AIO disk, using UPGRADE mode, I get conflicting message(s)...you can not upgrade from 64 bit to 32 bit;...and you can not upgrade from 32 bit to 64 bit. What gives? I am doing something wrong?
Seller firm in that they had Win7 Ult running fine and that the AIO disk should work fine.

I have the same model you have. Our model is Vista 64, so if you are trying to upgrade, you can only upgrade to Win 7 64, and it sounds like you got a Win 7 32 disc. See if it will let you do a full install of it and not an upgrade, if it won't, you need to get the Win7 64 disc for this.

Vista basic or vista home premium sp1 for macbook pro

Ok so I got windows home premium sp1 today as i didnt think the basic would work, apparently it will. I am not certain if the home premium would work though because it has sp1. do i need one without it? i have yet to open the box so i can always return it.
All i really want bootcamp(windows) for is to be able to install and play video games that mac's are not able to. So basic would be enough for me yes? Thank you for any help.
EDIT: I have yet to open the windows vista home premium sp1 yet as well incause the vista basic will work(i dont want to spend more then i have to in order to get bootcamp to work just for a video game)

So I go to the city today,from the mac dealer I bought my MBP from, they assured me the XP home edition version they have would work, so go race over there (45min later) and pick it up, store was pretty much closed soon as i left. when i actually take a closer look i see it doesn't have the service pack required for the XP versions. So tomorrow gotta go back to return it I hate my life.
I know this is more less my fault for not looking further, but you'd think the dealer would know the requirements for the new operating systems and how bootcamp works. dfngsdkj

Bluetooth software license file - HP Touchsmart IQ772 Vista Home Premium SP1

I installed Driver Max a couple of weeks ago and updated outdated drivers, blutooth amongst them, identified by Driver Max, on my HP Touchsmart IQ772, Vista Home Premium SP1. Since last week, I get this message every time I log on or restart my computer; Bluetooth Software license file not found. [2]. What does this mean and how do I stop this happening again?

I had the same problem after doing a registry clean-up on my touchsmart iq518a, don't know why it worked but i fixed it by going to programs and features on the control panel and uninstalling the 'bluetooth by hp' program. Everything still works perfectly and that annoying message no longer comes up.

Dreamweaver CS3 Install on Vista Home Prem

Hi there
I have just got a new laptop with Vista Home Premium
installed and I have attempted to install Dreamweaver CS3. The
first day it seemed to work fine until I got a message stating that
registration had failed catestrophically. It then shut down and I
was unable to run it since.
I have uninstalled the program, checked that all previous
installs had been unregistered and Installed again.
When I double click to run the application I get the little
circle icon that I guess replaces the egg timer in vista but then
after a second or two it disapears and nothing happens.
I have tried to uninstal, repair the installation but to no
avail. I even tried setting the clock to before the time change
last month as that caused an issue on the XP install on the old
computer but nothing seems to work - does anyone have any
ideas?????
I have had a look around the forums but not really came up
with anything.

The Windows restore said that it failed the two times that I
tried it. But after doing this I tried Dreamweaver again and it
seems to be working. The registration has failed again however I am
able to use it. Hopefully one time it wil let the registration
complete.

When i'm trying?to burn CD's onto my Zen after?I burn the first one then click to burn another it freezes. Is there any patches i should be downloading to solve this problem??Can anyone help? I have the same problem. It all started yesterday when I was installing the cd drivers in my new computer. I have searched numerous forums and some people had to return the product. Please admins help on this issue as I understand it is very serious.

Firefox CS3 very slow (on Vista Home Prem. 64 bit)

Firefox CS3 is running very slow on Vista Home Premium 64
bit.
New Gateway AMD Phenom quad-core (2.3 Ghz quad) with 8 GB of
Ram.
The rest of the CS3 suite works fine, but there's a delay
every time I do anything in Fireworks.
I upgraded from 4 GB of Ram to 8, thinking that might make a
difference. But the problem remains essentially the same. I've
gotten all Adobe updates, but nothing seems to solve it.
Originally, I thought it was a matter of having other programs open
that was bogging it down. But even when it's the only program open,
it runs slow.
I was wondering if there are some other settings I need to
change, or what... The last Macromedia version of Fireworks ran
much faster on my XP system with less power and Ram, so this just
doesn't make sense...

64 bit? Umm...hmm.
First, other people have mentioned problems with FW CS3 on
Vista compared to either running on XP or other CS3 apps on Vista,
so you aren't alone. Unfortunately, nobody seems to be able to pin
down the conflict. Possibly AV, but (if I remember correctly) the
other person who posted about FW CS3 being slow didn't see an
improvement when he turned his AV off.
You might try turning off Aero for Fireworks, that helps with
the bitmap tools. If it's some other conflict, then it's going to
be a matter of experimenting.
I'm running Vista Home Premium 32 bit, and I don't notice any
trouble with FW CS3 (well, except for the bitmap tools, which I
don't use so I haven't bothered turning off Aero). My AV is NOD32,
though, and it's one of the smallest, most nimble AVs out there.

IPod Classic 80GB works OK with iTune 9.0.2.25 under Vista Home Prem-64Bit

I have been reading all of the many problems people are having with their iPod classic after their iTunes 9 upgrade.
I just wanted everyyone to know that I have been upgrading iTune software automatically as soon as they become available, and right now it is Ver. 9.0.2.25. My operating system is Windows Vista Home Premium - 64 bit. Everything is running just fine.
Hope this piece of information helps narrow the focus as to where problem lies.

Here's a few possibilities that might be worth checking on with people that aren't covered in the standard documentation.
*Windows 7 USB Host Controllers and nVidia chipsets*
One issue that has been catching people out on *Windows 7* systems with nVidia chipsets is a flaw in the Windows 7 USB Host Controller drivers, as per:

It can manifest as intermittent trouble with normal syncing. Then folks (naturally enough) often try a restore in an attempt to rectify matters, and then can't restore, or have no luck whatsoever getting any syncs to work afterwards.

Seems to be related mostly to the Intel P55 and P55M chipsets. Checking for BIOS and chipset updates helps for some people. With others (with a user configurable BIOS of the right sort), the following workaround has been of some help:

Unable to scan and communicate with scan function C6180 Vista Home Premium 64 bit Printing works

I have an all in one C6180 Photosmart connected by wireless network (infrastructure). Network consists of 2-laptops, 1-Desktop and the printer. Everything works from HP solution Center on the Compaq laptop and the Dell desktop both running Windows XP. My newest laptop is a Dell studio XPS core2 2.4ghz running Windows Vista Home Premium 64 bit. I am unable to scan from the Dell Laptop using HP Solution Center nor can I scan from the printer buttons to the laptop. Solution Center opens I select "scan document" and immediately get an error message "unable to communicate with scanning device. Likewise with the copy function. The laptop does recognize the printer though and I am able to print wirelessly. All functions work when connected via USB so I believe the printer is fine. I have been working with this problem since I bought the printer in 2007. I spent many hours reading hundreds of internet posts, talking by phone with HP and via e-mail support from HP. I became frustrated and gave up for awhile but now I want to see if there are any new solutions that I don't know about. I downloaded full feature software and drivers for the 6180 from HP and performed various levels of uninstall (L1, L2, L3, L4). I also cleaned the registry with ccleaner, windows disk cleanup and manual registry deletions when allowed per HP. I have checked port settings, tried stopping HP functions is Services.Msc. The Digital monitor is currently running, however no scanner communication-computer to 6180 and no scanner communication 6180 to computer. I can print and fax from computer wirelessly. I have ran the HP diagnostic utility separately and it appears everything is fine, connection IPaddress etc. During install when prompted to run test it says the printer is connected to the network. I have tried to add a device to the network after install and get the message no wireless devices found. The scanner does not appear under Cameras and Scanners in control panel. Nor will it find the scanner when I try to add device. Firewalls and antivirus have been turned off. Still can't make it work. Suggestions please.

Sorry about your pain. L3 uninstall is what I recommend. Re-install from hp.com and this time, with the printer properly attached it should flow OK.

Windows Vista Home Version and Adobe Flash Player 10.

I use Windows Vista Home Version and I am finding it difficult to download Adobe Flash Player 10.
It appears to have been downloaded but on examining Control Panel, I discovered that its content is empty (no size is aportioned to it).
Most importantly, I am unable to play videos that require adobe flash player.

I understand Vista is a 32 bit.
IE 8 is what I have but I would consider IE 9 if that would be necessary.
Just a bit more update. I just tried to download Adobe FP 10 again with the following results, again:
The Adobe Download Manager windows shows:
FP 10.3 Status as 100% "Installation Pending".
FP 10.2 Status as 100% " Instatlling Application"
and that will go one forever but never really actually installs anything and just keeps cycling through the "Add to Download" e.g. "Fanbase", "Times Reader"
and "Adobe Air" (none of which I want added to the download), and the download and installation shows as 100%.
Go figure!

I have the most current version of MS Home Premium Vista. I run it on a 64 bit Dell Studio Laptop.
I have just started suing Mozilla Firefox 2013 Beta version.
I usually used Firefox vs IE as my browser and have my Yahoo email set as my home page.
When I tried to print a a several page PDF file I was accessing using Firefox, all it it print previewed and ultimately printed was page one. This happened regardless of the PDF file (e.g. those on the IRS.gov website). When I switch over to Internet Explorer and try to read the same files, I have no problem.
On 2012 versions of Firefox I had no PDF printing problem. I do think there is a bug in the latest version.

Top left (Orange) Firefox button, Print, Print Preview. Does everything look correct? You may also click the icon that looks like a "DISK" to save, which allows you to save it to your computer and CTRL+P will allow you to print.
