Acrobat 8.3.1 jams when scanning from HP M1212nf MFP

Using Acrobat 8.3.1 w/ OS 10.6.8 and scanning from an HP M1212nf MFP leaves Acrobat unable to process scan.
Even though Acrobat recognizes the scanner, it jams after scanning, and I need to force quit.
As an aside, this scanner is possibly the most cheaply made HP device I have ever owned, and the scan interface is terrible. So basically, I am on the verge of tossing it into the e-waste. In other words, the value of this MFP is less than the value of it as waste.  (<$0)

Installed Acrobat: C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 10.0\Acrobat\Acrobat.exe     Version: 10.1.3.23

  • HP276dw doesn't number pages automatically when scanning from glass

When scanning from glass it doesn't number pages automatically. It shows a dialog asking for the filename and when the ok button is clicked it asks if it's ok to overwrite the previous file.
When scanning from ADF or when scanning is started from MPF's panel the automatic page numbering is working fine.
Is there any configuration to resolve this issue? It's really annoying having to edit file number manually.
    Thanks

  • Acrobat Distiller Error 5 message when scanning?

Acrobat Distiller unable to create temp folder error 5 message when scanning. I can print no problem cannot scan with error?

    Hi,
Similar issues have been resolved in earlier posts - Re: Error 5 from Acrobat Distiller - Cannot print to PDF
Assuming by Error 5 that it is related to Access Denied problem:
    1. Clean up the contents of your %temp% folder.
    2. Give full permissions to the %temp% folder
Try working with Acrobat after this.

  • Change folder that scanner saves to when scanning from printer

Just got an OfficeJet 8600 all in one, and it appears that when you use the scan button on the printer's control panel to scan, by default it saves the files into your My Documents folder.  Is there any way to change where it saves to?  I'd prefer if it would save to my Scans folder that is inside My Documents, but dont see an option anywhere to change that, so not sure if that is even configurable.

Hello rr2222, On my OJ 8600 Pro Plus setup - yes, the two "destinations" ... scan from printer and scan from PC ... become aligned to the same folder, once the destination folder has been setup just once using the (Windows) Control Panel icon. Although I need to take a slightly different 'path' through my HP-installed Control Panel shortcut from that described by ShlomiL in order to find my "Scan dialog", once I've set a preferred "Save location" for each of the "Scan to JPEG" or "Scan to PDF" etc. options (using the 'Advanced' link that's alongside them on my Scan dialog), back at my printer I can now choose "Scan" then "Computer" then [one of my named PCs on the list] ... and I can then select one of the same "Scan to JPEG" or "Scan to PDF" etc. options - and the scanned file pops up in my chosen folder on my PC. Hope that helps a bit?Colin P.

  • Garbled web config page from the M1212nf MFP

    Hi!
I'm trying to get our printer to get set up for network printing (it works just fine by USB). I've got a HP LaserJet Professional M1212nf MFP, that's hooked up by wire to our router. It gets assigned an IP address automatically - so far, so good - but when I try to access its control panel, it gives me an incomplete webpage:
I also can't find it by browsing printers, through WinXP's add printer wizard, but that's a thing I had hoped to solve through accessing the printer's configuration web interface.
    What's wrong here?
    Thanks.

    Hi AngryDrake,
    Thanks for providing that information.
Are you working from Parallels, Fusion or from some sort a VPN environment?
If you are using the printer in a virtual environment, then please try accessing the printer's EWS in a regular environment just to see if you have the same results.
Use Safari when accessing the printer's EWS, other browsers sometimes won't allow it to open.
Since the printer is setup on the network and you are able to print, you just can't access the printer's  EWS, I would  update the firmware on the printer which should allow you then to access the printer's  EWS through a regular environment. HP LaserJet Pro M1212nf Multifunction Printer Drivers.
Select your operating system, click next, click the link for firmware.
If you are still having issue, then make sure the printer is connected directly to the Router or Airport and not a switch.
Please let me know the results.
    Thank You.

  • Acrobat 8.1.2 hangs when printing from IE 7  under XP Pro x64

    Hey Community,
my Acrobat Standard 8.1.2 and my Internet Explorer 7.05.... hang up when printing. Im running XP Pro x64 recent version.
The other features printing from word or scanning do work well.
Has somebody an idea how to fix that bug ?
    Thanks Frederik
Funny thing - I just tested it out to describe the situation better:
    First test:
I used the embedded printing icon in the toolbar and printing worked fine with www.FTD.de. Adobe did print eather already started or by automatic start on print icon. It worked several times in a row. But often Homepages are not scaled, so only part of the page was on the paper, because there is no option use the properties. Once Adobe opened I saw a new feature that I have downloaded some Multimedia features with the document and if I would like to listen to them.
    Second Test:
I did the same job with using the File/Print command, set adobe as printer
and the job hang up in this version. But to say, it is the internet explorer which hangs up. I couldn't minimize the window, IE was just freezed. After terminating IE via task manager the Adobe window of defining the files name showed up, but the process does not finish (X IE)
After opening IE I tried to run Test1 with the still running Acobat but I got en error message from Adobe. After closing and starting Acrobat again the Test1 process worked fine without problem and without prior restart of the machine.
I also tested this with Kapersky deactivated to make sure that the Multiimedia Content does not cause the trouble, but no changes I.E. just
    hangs up.
    Has somebody an idea?
    Frederik

Problem solved. Does only happen with the Internet Explorer 32bit.
With Internet Explorer 64bit it doesn't happen.

  • Acrobat 8.1.5 crashes when scanning two-sided documents-help!

    Hi,
I've been searching for some answer to this, but I'm not finding any yet...
My problem is that I am trying to use Acrobat 8.1.5 to scan in a double-sided multi-page document using a Brother MFC-7420 with a document feeder. I'm on OS 10.5.8. Scanning in single sided works fine, but when I ask for two-sided scanning it scans the first side, prompts me for the second side, scans it, then waits a few seconds and crashes. I get the "application Acrobat quit unexpectedly" message.
No I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat, updated my scanner drivers, fixed my permissions, shut down and restarted the computer several times and nothing seems to work. Tonight, however, I got an added conundrum when it allowed me to scan a single sheet front and back with now problem. When I loaded in another three sheets and tried to do the same thing, it died.
    Anyone have any ideas?
I don't scan multiple pages double sided very often, but I'm pretty sure I've done it in the past with no problem so this has got me stumped.
    Thanks!
    Tim

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
I have tried all these things (I've completely un-installed everything Adobe on my system, going through the App Support and Preferences, and anywhere else I could find at least three times; thanks to problems with the Auto Updater (now fixed apparently) I've had to manually install all the updates; I've also installed them automatically and am currently at version 8.2.1. I've fixed permission, I've repaired directory structure, I've started in a new user account. The problem still persists. The most remarkable thing is that if I stay at version 8.0 it works properly—flawlessly even.
Do I sound just a little frustrated and piqued?
Here is part of the error report when it crashes—it means nothing to me, but maybe this will help?

  • Acrobat Professional 7.0 hanging when printing from IE8 (Vista)

Hello.  I've done my best to troubleshoot on my own but am encontering problems when trying to print a document from within Internet Explorer 8 on a PC running 32-bit Vista.
Mind you I can print as I always have from any other browser (Safari, Firefox, Chrome, and Opera) without problem, but whenever I attempt to print any item to PDF using the installed Adobe PDF printer driver, the document simply sits in the printer spool queue with an "Error - Printing" status.  I have no problems whatsoever printing to PDF from any other application (Word, Excel, etc.)
I've done my best to verify any settings within IE, Vista, and AP7 that seem like they could have interfered but wasn't able to find any.  I wouldn't be surprised it it's the result of IE's layer-upon-layer of bloated and settings, but I have absolutely no idea where to begin.
I'd appreciate any useful guidance from others who may have experienced this, or a similar, phenomenon.
    Thanks in advance.

Have you looked at Adobe's Knowledge Base to see what versions of Acrobat can fully work in the Vista OS?

  • "An internal error has occurred" message when scanning from MX922 to desktop using Windows 7

I am no longer able to scan using my MX922 connected to my desktop running Windows 7 without getting a message on my desktop saying "An internal error has occurred".  I have turned the MX922 on and off, I have disconnected both the power cord and USB cable from the MX922 and from my desktop, I have reconnected the USB cable to a different port on my desktop, I have uninstalled all Canon programs from my desktop and reloaded all Canon programs with the MX922 CD, and I have restarted the desktop multiple times.  I scan documents several times a week for my business. It has worked fine until today. What do I need to do to correct this problem and get back to scanning?

    Hi boisseaujm,
If you temporarily disable any antivirus or firewall software that is on your computer, then attempt to scan again, are you able to scan successfully?

  • Disk Utility in recovery partition doesn't see errors present when scanning from 10.8.3

I'm running Disk Utility and finding some errors (Unable to bootstrap transaction group XXXX: inconsistent crosscheck, No valid commit checkpoint found, The volume XXXX was found corrupt and needs to be repaired, Incomplete or inconsistent CoreStorage Physical Volume set)
When I reboot into the recovery partition and try to fix these errors, the disk checks out fine.  Back in 10.8.3, I get the same errors.  Any ideas?

Yes, I chose the Repair Disk option from the Recovery Partition Disk Utility.  This is a FileVault encrypted drive, and I've entered in the password to unlock the disk.  From the Recovery Partition, Disk Utility reports no errors during Verify or Repair (same with Disk Permissions).
Once back in OS X 10.8.3, all the errors that I described previously show up in Disk Utility.  It can't be unmounted since it's my startup disk, so I'm stuck not being able to fix things.

  • Problem scanning from HP 1312 MFP connected via USB to Time Capsule

    Hi,
I have a HP Color Laserjet 1312 MFP connected via USB to a Time Capsule. I can print through the Time Capsule without any problems but the HP Director software can't see the device hence I can't use the scanner on the device.
    Please help!

If the scanning option is vital, just keep the MFP directly plugged into your Mac (via USB). Enable printer sharing via System Preferences. Note that the Mac does need to be on for the other machines on your network to print. If that's not an option, look into purchasing a USB print server to connect via ethernet onto your network.

  • HP LaserJet MFP M476dw paper size mismatch when copying or scanning from ADF

We have HP Color LaserJet MFP M476dw that has an issue when copying or scanning from the ADF.
Put a single A4 sheet in the ADF and choose copy, with all settings correct & no resizing, and the output copy is moved down the page (increased top marging by a couple of inches).
My initial thoughts were a paper size issue (e.g. treating A4 as Letter or vice versa) but all settings look correct.  I have even done a reset and started over and the problem remains.
If I take the original and place it on the flatbed and copy from there with all the same settings then it works fine.
There is a similar issue when scanning from the ADF.  Again, scanning from the flatbed works fine.
I've tried all I can think of.  Does anyone have any further suggestions?  Could it be a fault in the ADF?

  • Paper jam when printing photo from Microsoft Photo Editor

On my C7280, I want to print a photo from Microsoft Photo Editor onto plain 8.5x11 paper. This always produces a paper jam. If I copy/paste the photo into, say, Word, and print from Word, the document prints properly.
This is not a "false paper jam" - the printer attempts to feed the paper, and jams (and creases) the paper in the attempt.
In Photo Editor, I explicitly chose "plain paper" and "main tray", rather than automatic settings.
    Any help would be appreciated!

    Hello @Lonewolf777 ,
    Welcome to the HP forums.
I understand that you are getting paper jams when printing from your Android device.
    I would like to help.
Have you tried to print using the HP ePrint app?
Also, if you are having problems using the in OS print system, install the HP Print Service Plug in.
It acts like a print driver for your phone.
If it is already installed, try the old, uninstall and reinstall trick.
Alternately, you can call the folks over at the HP Cloud Services department.
Please call our Cloud Services at 855-785-2777.
