Acrobat 8 and Windows 8.1 Registration Problems

I have installed on a Windows 8.1 operating system an Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional Product. The user is not administrator on his computer. Each time the program opens he has the error for Registration Unsuccessful. The product is activated properly.  Does Windows 8.1 has compatibility issues with Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional or i have to do the registration with administrator profile and then the user works properly with his account?
Thanks in advance

Hi g.argridiotis,
Acrobat 8 has never been tested on windows 8.
I would suggest to upgrade to the latest version of Acrobat, which has lot more features and is fully tested with windows 8.

  • Problems with Acrobat 8 and Windows 7 64 bit

    Hi all
I need help with Acrobat 8 and Windows 7.
During the installation I'm asked to locate the file AdobePDF.dll on the disk. Selected the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat 8.0\Acrobat\Xtras\AdobePDF\AMD64.
The installation finishes without any other problem.
The problem arises when I want to create a pdf from a Word document. I'm using Office 2007. When I select he option to create a pdf from a file, I get message in the attached image.
If I try to used the Adobe PDF printer from within Word, nothing happes. The small printer icon apprears in the Windows task bar, but that is all. If I double click on the icon, I can see the print job, but that's all. There is no dialog box that asks me to save the file.
    Assistance will be apppreciated.

Acrobat 8 is not certified for Win7, particularly the x64 version. If you got the installation to go, the first step is to update AA8 to at least AA8.2. The x64 with XP required at least AA8.2 and I suspect that has not changed. I would suggest updating to the latest, either from the help menu (until no more updates are available) or by downloading the updates from the adobe.com>downloads page. For the latter, download ALL updates after your current version and install them in ORDER. They are not cummulative in most cases. You only need to reboot after the final update. The updates may get you going. If not, you may simply have to upgrade to AA9 or search for what others have been able to do in your situation.

  • Adobe Acrobate XI and SecCommerce SecSigner have a problem during signing of a document, creating/verification of the signature is not possible - solutions?

Adobe Acrobate XI and SecCommerce SecSigner have a problem during signing of a document, creating/verification of the signature is not possible - solutions? SecSigner is not responding.

Well, I contacted SecCommerce about the issue, the response was, that I should sign the file later (afterwards). This is a solution, but not the best in my opinion.
When I sign the document the SecSigner window/Java window appears and freezes. Adobe is not responding. I have to terminate Adobe because the program is not responding.
I only found this support website, so I have realized that this is a User 2 User site, but it was a try to get some help.

  • Acrobat 3D and Windows 2000

Everyone that has the Windows 2000 operating system has problems with the Acrobat 3D models. The models were created using Windows XP and were tested using Windows XP. I am assuming that Acrobat 3D and Windows 2000 are incompatible. Adobe states Windows 2000 compatibility. Does anyone know why users with Windows 2000 are having problems with my models?
    Thanks

Yes, I have checked the version and they have Reader 7.0.8. I also checked that they have the latest version of DirectX. Of course there are a number of remote Windows2000 users, so I haven't the ability to check the service pack installations, graphics drivers, and so on. Many of these users are schedule to be upgraded to new laptops (with Windows XP installed).
I also have the most recent version of Acrobat 3D and have installed all the updates.
It seems the problems are different among different users, but everyone seems to have some type of problem when using Acrobat 3D and Win2000.

  • Both xp and windows 7 have video problems with my VGA connection using TV

both xp and windows 7 have video problems with my VGA connection using TV as my monitor when it gets to starting up windows no matter what version it will not I have let my mac on all night and still says starting windows or the windows 7 logo and nothing else will happen also when I use a 3rd patty software like peraills or other it works like a charm how to fix it?

To map the drive on your computer click on Start - RUN - type "\\192.168.1.1" and click ok... When prompted for Username and Password type "admin" and click ok... Now you will be able to see the folder which you have shared on  your router, right click on it and select "Map network drive" and click on finish.
Now it will map the drive on your computer and you should be able to transfer the file from your computer to the USB drive.

  • Acrobat 6 and Windows 7

I would like to install Acrobat 6 onto Windows 7. I think it is first necessary to update Acrobat 6 into Acrobat 10? How do I do this?

There is no way to install Acro 6 on Win 7 and you are way beyond any upgrade eligibility cycles. Simply buy a new license of Acrobat XI.

  • Acrobat 8 and Windows 7 Don't Work

I just loaded Windows 7, now my Adobe Acrobat 8 doesn't create or combine pdfs.  Reloaded Acrobat 8 and still doesn't work.  Is there a patch to work with windows 7?
    Thanks,
    Steve

Well I finally got Acrobat 8 to work on my 64 bit windows 7 system. I put in all in a file in case I ever need to reload it. Here is what worked for me.
To install Acrobat 8 on Windows 7
    1. Find folder data1.cab in installation files and drag AdobePDF.dll_64 onto desktop. Rename file AdobePDF.dll by deleting _64.
    2. Start installation process and when asked for file AdobePDF.dll from Vista disk use browse button and direct installation to file on desktop.
    3. After installation is complete try update (Help/Check for Updates) and after that check the version (Help/about ...). You need to update to at least ver. 8.1. If the Check for updates does not work - go to:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows
and do AT LEAST the 8.1 update.
    4. Now you may try to print to the Adobe PDF printer but it probably will not work. If not, you will need to go to the Devices and Printers/Adobe PDF/Printer Properties/Advanced and set it to "Print Directly to Printer".
That process should allow you to create .pdf files from the print menu. But be advised that sometimes it is necessary to click on the flashing icon in the lower tray to bring up the "Save" box after the print is initiated.

  • Photoshop CC2014 and Windows 8 - click "drag" problem

    Hey there!
So, I have recently started using the latest version of Photoshop CC2014 under windows 8.1 and I'm having this weird problem.
I'm using a Cintiq 24HD touch with latest drivers, and touch disabled. I have also disable any kind of click and hold windows has - for tablets and for touch input.
Cursor Drag problem in Photoshop CC2014 - YouTube
Still, when I try to make fine adjustments on sliders, I click and the slider simply does not move. This does not happen every click, but it happens often enough to be annoying as hell. It is happening everywhere, from panels to liquify window, to using the hand tool to navigate the image, and not only in sliders! Trying to make fine adjustments in liquify with your brushstroke jumping around is not fun.
I'm not sure what and where the problem is, but this simply does not happen in any other application (Photoshop CC; Sketchbook Pro, Paintstorm Studio, Krita).
    Does anyone have any idea?
    Thanks in advance,

I have been using Photoshop on windows for more then 20 years on windows. Windows 95, Windows 2000, Windows XP and Windows 7.  I never installed Windows ME, Windows Vista or Windows 8.  I have never seen any version of Photoshop change a displays brightness or even the image color when scaling or going from  float to tab to single image with PS UI to full screen.  However I hardly ever use Photoshop in full screen mode.
At different zoom views image may seem like the color change because of the scale of the image or the portion of the image that is on screen or the color of the border around the image.

  • Acrobat 8 and Windows 7 64 bit

    Hi,
I've tried reporting this twice to Adobe's customer support. The first time they told me to upgrade to version 8.1 (I upgraded to 8.15). The second time they said they don't support versions older than the two most recent versions. The one I have is from CS3 so don't understand why they would say this!
Anyway, I'm hoping someone can help me here!
After upgrading from Vista to Windows 7 and reinstalling Acrobat I now find that it won't create PDF's and says that the PDFmaker files are missing. I tried reinstalling and upgrading to version 8.15 but still have the same error message although when I choose "Adobe PDF" from the print menu I can get it to make the PDF no problem!
Anyone else experienced this or know a way around it? Also the links in Office don't work at all now.
    Thanks!
    Steve

Well after a hunt around the net I found this guys page and it seems to be working fine now!!

  • Acrobat XI and Windows Vista

Subscription version of Acrobat XI will not download onto my Windows Vista system.  Can I get Acrobat X instead?

adobe doesn't sell older software versions.  you can download a trial, though.
did you use compatibility mode (xp sp 3 - for 32 bit, xp sp2 - for 64 bit)  and, if so, what problem are you having with acrobat xi?  (and is that pro or standard?)

  • Acrobat 7 and windows 7

keep getting a message that says not compatible with this version of windows contact adobe?

    Hi xdfgnxfgh,
The error message itself is correct as Acrobat 7 was not written for Windows 7.
You can try installing it on Windows XP and it would work.
    Thanks,

  • Virtualbox and Windows 7 clones - registration

I have created a virtual machine using virtualbox. I purchased a version of Windows 7 to support this virtual machine since I do experimentation with the "base" installation of a prodcut I support. I always go backto my original version (clone) of my installation. However, everytime I try create my clone OR returnto my original clone, have to reregister my Windows installation. It was not really a problem until recently which is when I exceeded the reregisteration of the product.
Does anyone have a solution or know how I can fix this problem.
My goal is to have a single version of the product running and I only use it to ensure I install things correctly then I use the new version and delete the redundant versions.

    vbim0nk wrote:
As was stated after you installed virtualbox-modules, you need to load the modules manually. Also make sure your username is part of the vboxusers group.
    sudo modprobe vboxdrv
    sudo modprobe vboxnetflt
    sudo gpasswd -a USERNAME vboxusers
Then log out and back in. You should also probably add those modules to the modules section of your rc.conf, or you will have to use modprobe manually every time you reboot. Also check out the wiki page for VirtualBox, it is very informative.
    thanks .
when i share a folder where can i find it?

  • PXE E53 error, and windows 7 start up problem error

recently, i have been getting an error called PXE E53 - no boot filename recieved. is the problem the hard drive? sometimes i get "windows 7 has failed to start. a recent hardware or software change might be the cause" and i choose start up repair, but then its just a black screen. any ideas of the problems im having?

    Hi
This error comes if the OS or any boot device is not found in network boot, where the system tries to boot from Network or Boot Rom. Seems that teh BIOS setting is lost. To resolve teh issue. Enter BIOS by pressing F10 or F1 and reach the Boot tab (on the top with right arrow key). In the Boot tab there should be an option related to boot device priority, Select First Boot as HDD and then save settigs by pressing F10, select Yes for confirmation.
Now PC PC will reboot and hope the windows will boot.
