Acrobat 8 doesn't run
My MacBook recently died and I got a new one and used Migration Assistant to move over my applications from the old disk (the GPU died so the disk was still able to boot up - just no graphics) a few days ago. Yesterday I tried to run Acrobat Pro 8 and it says it needs me to enter the serial number. I enter the serial number of the CS3 Design Premium software I've had for years, but it says it's not valid.
Any ideas on why it doesn't like my serial number or how to make it accept it?
I don't use Acrobat very often but have never had this problem before.

Well, I did a fresh install of CS3 on a virgin Mountain Lion boot volume. When the install finished, I tried to run Acrobat Pro, but it says that I need to run another CS3 app before being able to run Acrobat Pro the first time (did not ask for a serial number as it previously did on the version resulting from the Migration Assistant). So there is no separate serial number for Acrobat Pro at all, just it insisting on running one of the other CS3 apps before it runs the first time.
So there must be something goofed up with the Acrobat Pro on the original Mountain Lion, but no idea how to fix it. Any suggestions?

After two documents openened and printed succesfully Adobe Acrobat refuses to open a window. There were countless acrobat.exe processe running after which I logged out and on again. Now acrobat doesn't open a window for a short time acrobat.exe appears in task manager but that it disappears without an error message.

This happened on two computers. I paid 400 Euro for a CS6 suite that seems to be rather buggy.
Had someone with the same problem this fixed ?First of all, this is the Reader forum, not the Acrobat forum.
Acrobat 10 is not compatible with Windows 8 unless you update to at least 10.1.5 ... Do that and then try again. -
What is the newest version of Adobe Acrobat Standard that runs on Windows XP SP3? I currently have Adobe Acrobat Standard 6.0.0. Thanks!
The current updates 10.1.13 and 11.0.10 no longer support Windows XP SP3. The last versions to test were 10.1.10 and 11.0.3 I think. But I wouldn't recommend using those because of the Security Updates in between those versions and the current updates. Microsoft doesn't even support Windows XP SP3 any longer. I would say to try updating both the OS and the applications.

Crystal Report doesn't run on the production PC
I developed a report using VS 2005/Crystal Report. The report has three on-demand sub reports and some subreports. It runs well on my PC, but doesn't run on the production PC, on that PC, I only can see the report header or few columns. The difference (I can tell) between my PC and the production PC is my PC has VS 2005 installed.
Is there anything I can do to make the report running on the production PC?

Have you installed the runtimes of CR of VS2005 on your server, if not than please install from(only applicable if you are using the bundle version of CR i.e. CR 10.2 which comes with VS 2005) [here|http://resources.businessobjects.com/support/additional_downloads/runtime.asp#07].
Note- use the appropriate version of merge modules for 64 or 32 bit machine

If you want files to use later.. do not use TM.
Or do not use TM to the same location. Plug a USB drive into the computer and use that as the target for the permanent backup.

Have downloaded firefox update 3 times and it doesn't run
I have just started to use firefox on my pc which has windows 7. I keep getting a message saying I need to update the version of firefox, so I down load it and it says it is downloaded ( I now have it 3 times) but it doesn't run and still keepstellin me I need to upgrade it??? Make sure to close Firefox before launching the installer for the newer version. Do you get any error messages when you start it? It might take a minute for the installer to check itself before you get a dialog. -
I want a solution to the problem I was having on Win 7 Pro Service Pack 1 in that links on an open Adobe Acrobat Pro 10.1.12 file will not open in my Firefox Browser 33.0.2. The Error I receive is "Acrobat could not run the web browser. Unknown Error. (123)"

Hi. I am running Windows 8.1 on a 64 bit Toshiba Satellite P70-A laptop with 16Gb of RAM. I have installed Adobe Creative Suite 6 - Master Collection. All is fine except for Adobe Acrobat X. It runs OK for a while, but then suddenly it won't work. I uninstall it, re-boot and re-install again, bit the same process repeats itself and once again I have to uninstall and re-install again. I don't know if windows update interferes with it? Has anyone else had a similar problem? Is it fixable?

when opening a pdf link on a web poage the process stalls and there is a message that Adobe acrobat reader is running. To the best of my knowledge I do not have the Acrobat reader. To the best of my knowledge I have deleted the reader program. I have an older version of Acrobat Pro. The problem occurred before I did the deletion and continues since then.

Adobe currently supports Acrobat X and Acrobat XI for Mac and Windows platforms. So the earliest version would be Acrobat X and the Latest would be Acrobat XI.

Applet embedded in JSP doesn't run on browser with older than JRE-1.6
I have embeded an Applet in my JSP Page which used JDK1.6's getHardwareAddress() method to get user's physical address.
I have embeeded this into a JAR file and used it in my JSP where this applet run on onload() event of the form --> runs the applet --> and gets physical address of user machine and prints it in one of the text boxes on the form.
Now, the issue is that the applet doesn't run on browser that doesn't support JRE 1.6
My concern is that how can I run this (if at all possible) in browsers that support lower versions of JRE or is it possible to check that if the browser doesn't support JRE 1.6 then load the basic version of form without running the applet. Can i actually check the version of browser JRE somehow and stop to execute the applet. Because what happens as of now is that if the applet doesn't execute, the complete form fails to load.
The last option is that I give a message on my web page that redirects user to Sun Java site and asks them to update their browsers.Personally, I have no knowledge about Applet but have you checked this link?

Any decleration within your package will not be recognised unless initialisation is sucessful.
Investigate the built-in packages:

Nsswitch doesn't run PADL's nss_ldap.so

I've really broken my brain.
I've successfully compiled PADL's nss_ldap-253 with openldap-2.3.21 and openssl-0.9.7i. All linked static.
/etc/nsswitch.conf reads "passwd: files ldap". nss_ldap.so copied to /usr/lib/nss_ldap.so.1.
When I run `getent passwd` it displays content of /etc/passwd only and exits with code 0. truss shows that it opens /usr/lib/nss_ldap.so.1. But it doesn't run any functions, even nssldap_passwd_constr().
I've downloaded ready-to-use nss_ldap.so.1 from www.symas.com and it works fine. It frustrates and encourages me. I cannot understand what is wrong with my job?
