Acrobat 8 - IE 7 - Vista - Stops Working
Everytime I try to open an Acrobat document in IE7 I the browser downloads the file and then I get a message that Acrobat has stopped working and it must close. When I click OK, I get a diagnostic message from Microsoft that it is an Adobe error with no know solution. They say to upgrade to Acrobat 8.1.1 (I am on 8.1.2) or to manually remove Acrobat Reader (which is not installed.
I have Acrobat 8 Pro, Adobe CS3 Web and Adobe CS2 Design Premium installed.
I have uninstalled all and run the CS3 Clean Script before reinstalling all. The problem still exists.
Anyone have an idea?
The computer cam with Vista (Ultimate upgrade) and IE 7 - all updates are current.
It has Office 2003 and 2007 was never on it.
All software updates are up to date.
I can open Acrobat files outside of IE. If I right click and select open I get the same error as just clicking on the link.

How do I fix: "Adobe acrobat 9.5 has stopped working"
Whenever I try to open a file using Adobe Acrobat 9.5, I get the message: "Adobe acrobat 9.5 has stopped working" "A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Please close the program". Acrobat reader 9.5 appears to work fine. I am also having problems when opening PDF files from the internet using Internet Explorer. If I try to open a PDF file with Internet Explorer I get and error message Box which says: "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library - Runtimr Error! - Program: C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\iexplore.exe - R6034 - An application has made an attempt to load the C runtime library incorrectly. - Please contact the application's support team for more information." Then when I click OK, I get the following in IE: "Interner Explorer has closed this web page to help protect your computer - A malfaunction or malicious add-on has cause Internet Explorer to close this webpage. - More Information - Windows Data Execution Prevention detected an add-on trying to use system memory incorrectly. This can be caused by a malfunction or a malicious add-on. Other things you can do: Go online to learn about the Data Execution Prevention (DEP) security feature". I am running Windows 7 Pro version 6.1 (Build 7601, Service pack 1) and Internet Explorer 8 version8.0.7601.17514 and Adobe Acrobat 9.5 Standard. I would give you the version but I can't keep the program open long enough to check that. Please HELP I need Acrobat working on this computer.
Reader is not Acrobat, but I got the gist. To try to resolve the issue, open Acrobat and go to Help>Repair. Hopefully that will fix the problem.
The C++ library sometimes gets messed up and has to be reloaded. That would have to be done by way of MS.
After the repair, I would strongly recommend going back to Help>Check for Updates and install updates in order. Since you did not mention updates, I suspect you are running 9.0.0. Also, you did not mention your OS level as 32 or 64-bit. If it is a 64-bit system, you need to run the updates for AA9 to work properly. -
Adobe Acrobat 9.0 has stopped working
I have just downloaded and installed adobe acrobat 9.0 on a Windows Server 2008. Installl process went find. When starting the program it eventually wil give me the error "Adobe Acrobat 9.0 has stopped working". I get an option to find a solution on the net or shut down. This is a 64 bit system.
To go along with Michael's suggestion, something like AA9.2 is needed for X64 systems I think. Also, be careful. Acrobat is not licensed for use on a server. Using it as a user is fine, but not as a server application. Read the license carefully.

My Adobe Acrobat X (CS6) suddenly stopped working!
My Adobe Acrobat X (CS6) suddenly stopped working, I can't open or edit documents. I am on Windows 8.1, this just started happening yesterday. I have re-installed it to repair any possible problems, I am a registered user. Please help me!! Can't submit my assignments if I can't use my product!
The license info would be on the jewel case or CD that you got from the university. If it was downloaded, they typically provide the license key in that process that you have to write down or copy. As long as you are still covered under the license, maybe another individual has the license key available. It would be appropriate for them to ask for confirmation on your payment of the license fee or whatever process the university has.
In the meantime, go to the Start>Control Panel>Programs & ... When the program list comes up search for Acrobat.exe and do a repair. -
Acrobat X Pro suddently stops working
Periodically Acrobat X Pro just stops working; it won't open, either by trying to launch the program directly or opening a PDF. If I remove/reinstall it, it works fine for about a month, then stops again. I can't connect its failure to anything else (e.g., system updates) and it's frustrating. I'm running it on Windows7. I have CS6 and don't have this issue with any of the other programs. Any suggestions are welcome. Thanks!
Hi Dana ,
Is there any error message associated with the launch or it simply doesn't launch?
Does this happen with any specific PDF you try to launch ?
Or what you can do is go to Task Manager. Ctrl + Alt + Del and select Start Task Manager. Go to Processes. Sort by Names. Do you see Acrobat.exe on the list? If yes, please select it and click End Process. Then try to run Acrobat Pro.

Acrobat 8.1.2 Stops Working When Opening a Drop-Down Dialog Box
Whenever I try to open a drop-down dialog box in Acrobat the application stops working and Vista requests that the application be closed and that I will be notified of a solution when one is available. I've experienced the problem for six months. I must now solve this problem.
I've already tried repairing the Acrobat installation without any improvement. What should I do next? Thanks, seems to solve some of the problem, perhaps I need to uncheck more in this dialogue box... May be 'a' correct answer but not the complete solution. Anyway if all I need to do is uncheck a choice in a dialogue box then it must be a bug or driver incompatability as there seems to be no reason why I shouldn't be able to use 2D graphics acceleration.
Works if you highlight several PDFs in File Manager and then right click and 'Open with Adobe Acrobat', the error still occurs if I drag these files into an open instance of Acrobat beyond two files. Also seems to be more of a problem if one of the files is a 'colour document ' or 'greyscale document' scanned by Acrobat itself. -

If you have performed all the prior trouble shooting and it ended up with no result .In that case I would request you get in touch with the Adobe Support team.

Acrobat 8.1 has stopped working
Lately, however I try to choose Create PDF from Scanner, I end up with a Windows monologue box: Adobe 8.1 has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available.
I upgraded my program from 8.1.3 to 8.1.4 to 8.1.5 yesterday and today. Several times I tried in the Help menu: Repair Acrobat Installation. At least one of those times Windows gave me another monologue box: Windows installer stopped working. Any suggestions? With the absence of any further information, it would be useful to know what your environment is (e.g., OS + SP level, hardware). Do you have Reader installed in addition to Acrobat? From where did you purchase Acrobat? What other, if any, error messages do you get? Just saying Acrobat "stops working" does not precisely describe what you problem might be.
After we know this, we might have a better chance to help you?

Acrobat 8 Professional "has stopped working" every time I close a document.
Some time ago I had a virus infection but was able to clean my computer. Before that date, Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional was working fine but since then, every time I close a document, the program closes down with the message "Acrobat 8 has stopped working". Windows will look for a solution and never finds one.
Probably, with the virus, one of the Acrobat 8 files must have been corrupted, but I have not been able to find out which one or how to repair it.
Anyone with a similar situation who can point me to the solution?
Or should I just reinstall Acrobat from scratch?
Thanks, HubertThanks, Bill,
Tried this but my Help does not open/show the option Repair.
Online support goes to an error page...
Do you have/are there other repair options?
Thanks. -

IE7 Vista Stopped Working - Shockwave
IE7 stops working on some sites. Disabling the IE7 extension
Shockwave Flash Object corrects the problem.
Example site:
http://www.kfi640.com/main.html
Steps to fix: Start > Control Panel > Internet Options
- tab: Programs - button: Manage Add-Ons
Find extension and disable.
Running flashplayer_9_ax_debug.exe did not help.
Reinstalling Shockwave did not help.Let's make it happen. Surely someone know how to fix this.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 has stopped working
After a couple of years, message comes up informing me that I cannot use and should uninstall and re-install or contact Adobe Customer Support. Have tried the uninstall/re-install avenuse without success. Does anyone have any idea. Acrobat 9 is installed as part of Creative Suite 4.
I'm getting the same message -- precisely it says:
You cannot use this product at this time. You must repair the problem by uninstalling and then reinstalling this product or contacting your IT administrator or Adobe customer support for help.
It used to work, not sure when it stopped and why.
Thanks for any help
