Acrobat 8 Pasting cascades down screen...Help make it stop please.

I am using Acrobat 8 and have a 6K page documents that I need to paste information on several hundred pages.
What it's doing: When I paste text boxes it cascdes down the screen into a different spot every time I paste (ctrl-v) so I have to drag the item to the place it needs to be on the screen.
What I want it to do: Ideally I want to Copy my text box and paste it in the same place as I copied it from on all subsquint pages that I need to paste to. No more drag and drop the text box to the location I need.
The duplicate function is no good for me as it applies to every page of my 6,000+ documents.

I can't have the same information on all pages. and it's the pasted information
isn't always on a set number of pages. Sometimes I have to paste on 3 pages in a row other times I have to paste every 20 or 30 pages back. It's very random when I have to paste the information. So watermarks are out.
Thanks though. One member sent me a PM saying that there is no way to fix this and it has to be done through a script that he would make for me for a price. Oh well.... I will not be paying for a script because my company is to cheap.

  • Finder quit, won't go past the startup screen - Help!

    Hello,
I was happily using my ibook when out of no where, my entire desktop disappeared. I tried to reopen the finder, but it wouldn't budge, so I thought I'd restart.
After trying to restart a couple times, the applications in my dock would work but my entire desktop was still missing and finder was not opening...
I shut it down and left it alone for a bit. I came back and turned it on and now it will get to the startup screen and then proceed to the blue screen with the white box where the computer begins to load and it freezes. I hear no sounds at all. It just stays frozen.
Does anyone know what this problem might be and are there any solutions to getting it fixed? I hope to God this does not affect any of the files I have on my computer. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Welcome to Apple Discussions!
It's hard to know what the problem is, and I suspect that it will take more knowledgeable people than me to solve it, but there are a couple of things you can try first.
One thing is to run the Apple Hardware Test. It will be on one of the Cd's that came with your computer, either on one of the install discs or as a separate disc. It will look for hardware problems and give you an error code if it finds one. It doesn't find everything, but it is supposed to detect serious hardware failures.
Did either of you get a flashing question mark when you tried to start up?
Another thing to do (just on general principles) if you can access your utilities is to use Disk Utility to verify and repair if necessary both permissions and the disk. If the disk indicates that it needs repair, you will need to boot from your install disc and use the Disk Utility on it to repair the start up disk.
Please try these and post back if you have any questions about how to do either of these. If you get any error codes from the AHT or any indications of hard drive problems from DU, please post back with these.
Akamoe 243, welcome to you too! It sounds like you have a similar problem on the face of it, but it's hard to say if it will have the same cause. You can also run the AHT and DU and just follow this thread. But if you get an error code or a problem shows up with DU, it would be advisable to start your own thread so that your problem can get the attention it deserves.
Good luck to both of you!

  • White Line down screen HELP?!

Now, the line spans across the screen so its not just in a browser or anything like that in fact i can type behind it and move windows around it to see whats under this line. At times it is completely solid white other times it fades in and out almost disaprearing. Someone please tell me my whole screen is not going soon

    Hi starsky
have a look at this thread, long though it may be. it should answer your questions, and yes I've been through this too and it has worked out.

  • Dual screen configuration makes keyboard stop working on X

Hi. My computer is working just fine. And my video card has two outputs (Nvidia[GeForce 9600 GT] (rev a1)). I got a second monitor, and I was trying to configure Xorg to use the two of them in a dual screen configuration.
I tried creating the 10-monitors.conf file like described in  https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/NV … e_monitors, and here is what happens. X does use the two monitors, and I can even see my mouse pointer moving from one to the other. But then my keyboard stops working, and so do the mouse keys, only moving the mouse around works.
I have the impression this is related to the missing InputDevices in the ServerLayout. Something in my configuration probably needs that still, if the ServerLayout gets explicitly configured. What should I do? Could this be related to HAL somehow? How do I turn off HAL without it trying to kill me?
    Thanks.

I have been using nvidia's TwinView for a long time, currently with two different monitor sizes. There is no need to do anything with udev if you have your xorg.conf set up properly. Here's what mine looks like, though you will have to adapt it according to your hardware.
    Section "ServerLayout"
    Identifier "Dual Layout"
    Screen "Screen0"
    EndSection
    Section "ServerFlags"
    Option "AutoAddDevices" "on"
    Option "AutoEnableDevices" "on"
    Option "AllowEmptyInput" "on"
    EndSection
    Section "Monitor"
    Identifier "Acer"
    HorizSync 30-81
    VertRefresh 56-76
    EndSection
    Section "Device"
    Identifier "GeForce 210"
    Driver "nvidia"
    Option "NvAGP" "3"
    Option "NoLogo" "1"
    Option "RenderAccel" "true"
    Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "true"
    Option "TwinView" "true"
    Option "SecondMonitorHorizSync" "24-70"
    Option "SecondMonitorVertRefresh" "56-75"
    Option "MetaModes" "1680x1050, 1600x900 @1600x900"
    Option "TwinViewOrientation" "RightOf"
    Option "WrappedFB" "true"
    EndSection
    Section "Extensions"
    Option "Composite" "true"
    EndSection
    Section "Screen"
    Identifier "Screen0"
    Device "GeForce 210"
    Monitor "Acer"
    DefaultDepth 24
    Subsection "Display"
    Depth 24
    Modes "1680x1050" "1600x900"
    ViewPort 0 0
    EndSubsection
    EndSection
It is best to let as much as possible be handled automatically, but getting two screens working properly requires a bit of tweaking.

  • Incopy file size increasing--Please help make it stop

When our designer opens an indesign file and checks out an incopy story for editing, the file size grows very large once  the story is checked back in. For example, a story with a file size of 200kb grows to 6,000kb when we check it back in. The incopy file has a lot of conditional text and the indesign file contains many layers and images- could this be the problem? When our editior checks files in and out using only incopy, this issue does not occur. Any advice on how to stop this from happening?

Yes but I took a more careful look at the XML. I have over 57,000 urls in one example of a file. Looking more closely I have a group of urls (obviously from a story placed elsewhere in the document) The first grouping of URLs is in the format:
    <HyperlinkURLDestination Self="u8b17" Name="http://www.iberia.com" DestinationURL="http://www.iberia.com" Hidden="false" DestinationUniqueKey="984"/>
But after those appear (let's say there are 50) there's a different format to the data and it repeats that set of URLs many, many times (the examples I have included I specifically chose because they are of the same URL):
    <HyperlinkURLDestination Self="u9a81" Name="URL 44" DestinationURL="http://www.iberia.com" Hidden="false" DestinationUniqueKey="1027"/>
The difference is the "Name=" parameter.
What's weird is the InCopy documents seem to pick up the URLS as I keep working in the InDesign document.
I used the InCopy forum because they are InCopy documents and I just thought I could reach more InCopy-savvy persons in this forum. But I export my InCopy (.icml) documents from InDesign. I very seldom use InCopy. Though a co-worker does to make edits. I'm convinced the root of the problem is in InDesign.
I am on Mac OS 10.6 running InDesign (and InCopy) CS4 (6.04) I am not using any any third-party plug ins.
And as far as the check-in.check-out stuff I did switch the terminology around in at least one part of my post. I manually check-in my .icml files (in InDesign) after I have made changes in InDesign.
    Phew!

  • "When using the location bar suggest..." Even set to "Nothing" I still get suggestions. Make it stop, please!

I have tried changing the field to 'Nothing" several times with no result. It still gives me suggestions. I've tried clearing recent history with no results either. As you can see below, my "browser.urlbar.autoFill", "browser.urlbar.autoFill.typed", and "browser.urlbar.autocomplete.enabled" are all set to 'false'
Any help with this is GREATLY appreciated.

    I found it.

  • Make it stop please!!

Sorry to be so dramatic, but I am at a loss.
I made a new account on my laptop, something I have done plenty of times before on many computers.
Then an app asked for Keychain access, then another, and another, and it won't take my password either.
I went and deleted all the Keychain items I could, I know it was a rather desperate move, but I can ultimately replace anything was my thought. Well, nothing stopped. Nothing changed.
Examples of what the messages are is as follows "AddressBookSourceSync wants to use the "login" keychain" it don't take my password, so I click cancel, then another window pops up saying "CalendarAgent wants to use the "login" keychain" again it won't take what is my password, or any password I have ever created for any of my macs, so I click cancel, I just want to do some editing! I don't care about Address Book or Calendar, so I click cancel, hoping to dismiss the windows once and for all, no such luck, endless loop, I click cancel, "com.apple.iCloudHelp.xpc wants to use the "login" keychain" CANCEL!! "Messages Agent wants to use the "login" keychain" CANCEL CANCEL CANCEL!!!!! "ScopedBookmarkAgent wants to use the "login" keychain" and on and on and on....
This was all happening before I deleted all the Keychain info I could thinking that it would solve the problem. As noted I don't use any of that for this account, I just want to edit but can't because of this pop ups that never end.
    I am using 10.9.5 on a mba 1.4 GHz Core i5.
Thanks in advanced guys and gals, I always appreciate your help.

  • Firefox 3.6.8 appends ".jpeg" to all .jpg files I save. Make this stop, please!

right-click an image (on a cookbook page).
    select Save Image
The Save-as dialog opens, and the file is given the default name “cookies.jpg.jpeg”
I either have to manually edit and remove the ”.jpeg” from the save dialog box, or I have to open a DOS box in the the directory containing the image(s) and issue the command:
    ren *.jpeg *.

  • IMac makes a loud beep on start up, won't load past the blue screen and the black ticking dial appears every few seconds in centre of screen.

    Urgent help!
Out of the blue my mac lost the mouse cursor even though it had connection so I rebooted only for the mac to make a loud beep on start up then get stuck at the blue loading screen. It won't load past the blue screen. I've tried to reboot holding down the shift key but no change. I've also shut down, unplugged the main for 15 seconds, re plug and wait 5 seconds before starting up again but no change. Does anyone have any suggestions?
PS: I'm not too sure which systems I am running without being able to check in about this mac. I bought my imac in January or February 2011 if that helps.

The power on self-test resides in the ROM of the computer. This test runs whenever the computer is turned on after being fully shut down (the power-on self-test does not run if the computer is only restarted).
If a fault is detected during the test, you will not hear a normal startup chime. Instead, the system will beep as explained below. If you experience one of these beeps, you may call your Apple Authorized Service Provider for additional troubleshooting assistance.
1 beep = no RAM installed
2 beeps = incompatible RAM types
3 beeps = no good banks
4 beeps = no good boot images in the boot ROM (and/or bad sys config block)
5 beeps = processor is not usable

  • I have a Macbook and I left it unplugged. It started up slowly when I plugged it in again, but it seemed fine. Once it started charging I shut it down so it would be easier, but now it will not go past the grey screen with the apple. What do I do?

I have a Macbook and I left it unplugged. It started up slowly when I plugged it in again, but it seemed fine. Once it started charging I shut it down so it would be easier, but now it will not go past the grey screen with the apple. What do I do?
I have Snow leopard on my computer, and I tried to do a hard restart as an article suggested, but it did not work. I also tried cleaning out the PRAM.
The only things I did last night:
-cleaned the history of Firefox out, including cookies
    -let it unplugged all night
-plugged it back in the morning, it took a long time to figure itself out, but eventually the time was correct and I got on the internet for a bit
-shutdown the computer since I was going out and thought it would help the computer charge
-came back, tried to turn it on, and found that it would not go past the grey screen the apple on it and the spinning wheel even though I left it for 20 minutes or more
-tried turning it off and on to no avail

Before doing a reinstall, which may not be needed at this point,
Try using Disk Utility to do a Disk Repair, as shown in this link, while booted up on your install disk.
You could have some directory corruption. Let us know what errors Disk Repair reports and if DU was able to repair them. This could just be a start in repairs and you may need a better utility to finish the job.
    Then Repair Permissions.
No need to report any Permissions errors........we all get them.

  • My macbook pro wont get past the grey screen at startup. Help!!

After doing a run of the mill software update on my macbook pro (running snow leopard) it froze during the "moving items into place" stage. I forced a shut down and now it wont get past the grey screen with apple logo and spinning wheel. I have tried booting from the original DVD but it still freezes. When I boot it in verbose mode it seems to stop at "jnl: unknown-dev: update_fs_block: error reading fs block # 3597880! (ret 5)", the Apple AHCD Disk Queue manager :: set power state is timing out and there is a disk I/O error. I have tried to reset the power manager (not sure if it worked or not) and I have also tried clearing the PRAM (again, not sure of that worked). When I try to look at the hard drive using target mode on my imac the hard drive doesn't come up but the DVD does. I'm concerned that my hard drive is fried. Any suggestions?

It would help to state in your post which remedies you tried that didn't work.
Start here >  OS X Lion: If you see a gray screen at startup
If nothing there helped, try Starting up in Safe Mode
Safe Mode deletes some system caches that may help.
A Safe Mode boot takes longer than a normal boot so be patient. Once you are in Safe Mode, click Restart from the Apple menu.
If a Safe Mode boot didn't work, since your Mac has OS X v10.7 installed, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys so you can access OS X Recovery built in utilities. The startup disk may need repairing.
Tip:  Hold down the Eject key while starting up your Mac to eject a disc.
