Acrobat 8 PDFMaler files not available issue?

I recently had to reinstall Acrobat 8 onto a new computer. When attaempting to create a PDF file from a Word document, I got the following error message: "Missing PDFMaker files. Do you want to run the installer in repair mode?" I run the installer in repair mode and the error is not corrected. Can anyone help me here? Thank you.

Since the OS was released after your copy of Acrobat 8, you have to look at the Adobe Knowledgebase.

  • "Preview for Files Not Available" & "Failed to Find a Place for the Imported File"??

When I export RAW images into LR, some say "Preview for Files Not Available".  Also, it says "Failed to Find a Place for the Imported File".  Why?  What can I do to resolve this

    Hi,
Tried with this but still the same issue..
Stop the application services, recompile the JSP files manually, and start the application services. Check the login page then.

  • Legitimate newly purchased Premiere Elements-10 32-bit install files not available

    Friends:
I purchased an $1100 Nikon camera and the deal included OEM PS Premiere Elements 10.
Legit purchase with a CD and legit Serial #.
Can't install because what is Adobe's fault, not the camera vendor's and certainly not mine.
    Adobe's own published notice:
"The 64-bit version of Adobe Premiere Elements 10 only installs on Windows 7 64 bit. If you have Windows XP 64 bit or Vista 64 bit, it's necessary to install the 32-bit version. Because the Adobe Download Assistant automatically downloads the 64-bit version in error, it's necessary to download the 32-bit version manually through alternate means."
The problem is that the same holds true for installing on XP Pro SP3 and Adobe makes no mention of it in the above admission.
Then, Adobe's own Solutions 1, 2 & 3 for manual download all fail, even after fussing for days over it.
Even Solution 3, the last ditch option, fails perhaps because Elements 11 is out and Adobe has killed the 10 download Ftp sites.
Files I am unable to download from Adobe (without entrapment by so called Free Dowload sites) are:
    http://trials2.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PRE/10/win32/PremiereElements_10_LS15_win32.exe
    http://trials2.adobe.com/AdobeProducts/PRE/10/win32/PremiereElements_10_LS15_win32.7z
How can I solve my dilemma, being denied my right to learn Elements from a legally purchased 10 and being
forced to purchase 11 instead on top it. Fair?
I am requesting Adobe politely to make it possible to download the Adobe recommended two files withou hassles.
I must mention in this context my own  (and thousands of others') sad experience with Flash updates. Just follow
my own (and others') posts in Adobe forums. Plus, just read the Internet posts along these lines:
"It's impossible to download anything from Adobe. I have given up and I have given up on Adobe products."
Not that I want to, but I am forced into echoing the same sentiment.
    Can anyone help, please ?
    Thanks,
    Pradip A.

    Hello Mr. Wright:
The download now works. Appreciate your help.
The ...7z file is 1.37 Gb long. I have super high speed Fibre Optic Internet connection with Bell. I rarely have the ocassion to download files of this size. After downloading more than 1 Gb, the transfer hung - either at the Client end, or at the Server end. Bell is sending tech Thursday to mitigate some line noise they detected. Hopefully, the stars will fall into the right place before long.

  • Create Option Under File Not Available

Just purchased Acrobat XI Pro, and was attempting to scan a document to create a PDF. The instructions said to use File/Create/Scanner, but the Create option is not available under File at all. Only Create PDF Online. Please help if anyone can.

You must start Adobe Acrobat, not Adobe Reader.

  • Saying on itunes file not available....and not syncing...

not syncing saying file not recognised?

The song file is not available?  That usually means iTunes is no longer able to find the song's file, where it was previously located.  The song may still be in the iTunes library, but the link to its song file is no longer valid.
For the song that has this error, are you still able to play it in iTunes?  If you happen to subscribe to iTunes Match, the songs that are synced to the iPod need to have their files located on the computer's local drive (not in iCloud only).

  • Page not available issue

Recently, I have come across an issue where I attempt
enter the Communities on the support page and come up with
a page not available message when using Safari. If I open
Chrome or Firefox things work normally. If I empty cache in Safari
close it, then reopen, everything is fine. It doesn't happen all the time,
    but enough to be annoying.
    Anyone else with this issue?

Sure enough. This happened to me the other day. I am running Mac OS X 10.5.8, Safari 5.0.3. After hearing other reports of this, I tried in Firefox and was able to get to the main Discussions page there.
I went back to Safari and opened Safari Preferences > Security > Show Cookies and performed a search for Discussions. I only needed to delete that one cookie to get back to normal in Apple Discussions. A bit of a pain, but Safari is my favorite browser, so unless it happens repeatedly (which it hasn't, knock wood), I won't be changing browsers.

  • .pdf files not available on Blackboard

I am a college instructor, working on Blackboard 9.1. I have uploaded .pdf files to my course page, but when I attempt to view or download them, I'm told the plug-in is missing. I just re-installed Reader, and also have Acrobat Pro. Pdf's work fine in my browser on every other site but Blackboard. Nothing has changed on my computer since last semester, when everything was fine. I am on Safari 5.1, OS X 10.6.8, on a Macbook Pro.
    Any thoughts?
    Thank you!

Sounds like the issue is specific to Blackboard. Have you contacted their support? Probably not a lot of people around here familiar enough with that system to give much advice...

  • Can't update 10.6 to either .3, .4 or .5, max files not an issue

    HI
Sorry if this has been answered elsewhere, but I've done plenty of browsing and got nowhere close to finding a solution.
I have a 21" iMac which hangs every time I try to run the software update. It gets almost to the end (moving items into place) and just hangs stating install time remaining about a minute. I've left it sunning all day and no result. There are no error messages in the log file, in fact absolutely nothing after the --- begin install --- line.
I have checked the max file setting and its set to unlimited, also ran disk and permissions repairs, tried reinstalling from the original disk (but not wiping the drive first). Started with the 10.6.4 update, then tried 10.6.5 and then 10.6.3. All fail at the same place and the machine fails to reboot, just hangs with the spinning ball :o( I even uninstalled the virus checker.
I'm reluctant to wipe the drive as I don't fancy having to start from scratch again. Might also be worth pointing out that I used the migration wizard when setting this machine up. Also, tries downloading the dmg etc. and got exactly the same result as I did doing the on line update.
Any help would be much appreciated.
    Cheers
    Mark

    Hi
Figured it out (or fluked it and missed something completely :o)
*Problem Summary*: 21" iMac couldn't run software update (any version of last three), got as far as moving items and hung. Reboot would then hang and had to restore to backup. NO ISSUES WITH MAX FILES. Note: Also had previously uninstalled trend micro smart surfing and then sophos anti virus. Despite being removed weeks ago Trend had left behind (I believe) two processes: 1) iCore plug in manager and 2) iCoreServices. Also note that iMac had been set up using set up assistant and I have deleted a redundant non-admin user account.
Solution: Repaired permissions and disk, rebooted in safe mode, used Terminal to kill the iCorePluginMgr and iCoreService processes and then ran the update (10.6.5) from a local downloaded disk image.
Would be interested if anyone knows how to permanently kill these processes?
    Thanks, at last :o)

  • Acrobat PDF file not showing any character "i" only after an "f"

I have a file that was provided from an unknown origin.  The original PDF is good.  After using Acrobat Pro, 11 - every lower case letter "i" if used after a character "f" is missing.  Therefore the view shows this:  "See f gure #", or "the proper conf guration is", or "in case of f re".  The font is Times Roman.  The "i" character in error can be searched by using a copy paste of the bad character into the search field dialog box.  It can't be replaced however  - with a good "i" - by performing a search and replace.  The (for lack of a better phrase) "invisible i" can be deleted and a new "i" inserted, but by performing a search, I have 6,700 of them.  Doing them individually isn't an option.  This document has gone through at least three editors hands, and re-doing what they so painstakingly did - and losing a large amount of work for what appears to be a software glitch is not the preferred option.
I've tried saving as prior versions of PDF, messed with Preflight, printed to a pdf, used different views, embedded / unembedded fonts.
There has got to be a fix for this.
    Please help, and thank you.

Adding fuel to the fire...    In a document that uses Times  Roman as the font, the "i"s have been changed to Minion Pro.  Upon further review, all letter "L" - lowercase is also missing, but only after the character "f".  A document that says "have a safe flight"  now says "have a safe f ight" and the word "reflected" is now "ref ected".  The character "lower case L - l " has been changed to the font - Dutch 801 SWA.
I cannot select any of the invisible characters and change the font - as the fonts are greyed out.
Gotta be a fix...  this is really bad, and not user error.
