Acrobat 8 pro and windows 7 needs adobepdf.dll

I have just installed my old CS3 suit on a new machine. Now with windows 7 and Acrobat Pro version 8 I can't print to the Adobe pdf printer. Eventually it asks for abobdePdf.dll - it can't find what it wants on the original installation discs then wants something for Vista - I don't have vista....looking on the web site there appears no phone number allowing interaction with a 'human' to get an answer to the problem. Which leaves this as the only option - is this site monitored by Adobe staff or do they rely on their community to respond to their support requests?

Doesn't really matter whether Adobe monitor it - Acrobat 8 and 9 are long past being supported by Adobe.
It wasn't made for Windows 7 but you might find updating to Acrobat 8.1 gets it going well enough in Windows 7. Adobe have a solution they far prefer, to sell you Acrobat 11.

  • Adobe Acrobat 9 pro and windows 7

I have Adobe acrobat 9 pro and installed it on my Dell windows 7 desktop.  When I go to print to Adobe the pictures come up in the print screen with a green hue or tint to them. To view the pictures in the folder they are fine. To actually print the pics to the printer they print fine, but attempting to convert the pictures to a pdf file, they show and convert with this green hue or tint. Any ideas as to why?  I had this program installed on my XP windows prior to this with no problems.  Very frustrated.   Any thoughts.

You are allowed to use one license on two machines. Deactivate the XP version of Acrobat. Wipe the machine and install Windows 7, then re-install.

  • Rights problem with Acrobat X pro and Windows 8.1

We have bought a CS6 creative suite, including acrobat X. If we use the acrobat X in cooperation with windows 8.1, then we cannot delete or amend files without needing to save them under another name ....
If we install the try out of acrobat XI, then we don't have these problems ....

    Hello,
Yes we have done all updates that were still pending.
After a few day, the acrobat XI gives the same problems ... so I uninstalled the XI try-out and installed the bought X pro version again .... also here all updates have been done ...We really don't know how to solve this ..
We had the same configuration on a Windows XP and a Windows 7 pc, and there all went without these issues.
I also have another Laptop with the same configuration Windows 8.1 + XI pro, and there we also don't have the issue ....

  • Acrobat 9 Pro and Windows 7

I recently purchased a new laptop with Windows 7 (64 bit), and then installed Acrobat 9 Pro. When i opened a document in Word 2010 and tried to access PDF Settings, Word crashed. I could 'print' but then no bookmarks were created. I ran a compatibility check and it seemed it was checking for XP mode. I though it was compatible with Windows 7?
Solution: I uninstalled the application and rinstalled it in XP virtual mode. I then opened the document in Word 2007 (also installed in XP mode for RoboHelp reasons) and everything worked fine.
    Questions:
    1. Was this the correct procedure?
    2. Why isn't it working in Windows 7?
    3. Are there any problems with my solution that i am currently unaware of?
    Many thanks,
    Jacqui

I have solved the following problem that I posted earlier. The reason i am keeping it is because i shouldn't have to see "Error 1403", but a meaningful error.
The solution was to move the laptop right next to the wireless modem.
Help please. I managed the first update (now Acrobat says 9.2.0). I then
started the next update and after an extremely long time (a couple of hours)
it reached 100% download and then I received an Update failed alert - error
1403. Note that I had to install Acrobat in the Virtual XP mode; this
probably is what made the download so long. This repeated twice.

  • Acrobat X pro and windows 8

I purchased and installed X pro on a 32 bit windows 7 machine and have had to replace that maching with a 64 bit windows 8 machine.  X pro will not operate on the new machine.  Is there a fix or do I have to purchase a new version of acrobat?

Roger that.  After I installed it IE refused to work.  I uninstalled and reinstalled, restarted the computer and searched for updates.  After updating it appears to be working correctly.

  • Trouble after installing Acrobat X Pro in Windows 7

I just downloaded Acrobat X pro (upgrade) and installed on Windows 7 dell laptop. I had to uninstall ACROBAT 7.1 STD to do a clean install. After installing the product I was receiving low memory messages (4GB is installed) I also received a couple of blue screen followed by auto reboot. Dell claim that there is no hardware issues (brand new laptop). Are there any known issues with ACROBAT X Pro and Windows 7 pro (32bit) service pack 1

    Hi LosBashBrothers,
To investigate about this issue, installation logs help in a great way. Can you please share the installation log for this session ?
To create installation logs, enable Windows Installer logging yourself. Open the registry with Regedit.exe and create the following path and keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\Installer
    Reg_SZ: Logging
    Value: voicewarmupx

    Best,
    James.

you cannot use your pc license to install on a mac.  you would need a separate license (and serial number) for that.
adobe allows platform swaps, but only with the latest (xi) version, Order product | Platform, language swap
your option to use acrobat on a mac are to upgrade to acrobat pro xi and change platforms, use a windows emulator (parallels/boot camp etc) on your mac or swap with a third party.

Trying to run my older Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro on Windows 7. Have original disc and S/N. Won't run...

I was able to install the program on my computer. (Only glitch was that it asked for a .dll file for Vista which I'm not running.
I was able to activate the program ok.  When I try to convert any MS Office document to .pdf, it appears to start the process but just doesn't actually produce a .pdf file.  No error message or anything...

    Hi jurleana15722686,
Are you working with a subscription version or perpetual (where you bought the software outright)? Are you running into a particular problem or receiving an error message when you try to activate?
For starters, please check out this document: https://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/policy-pricing/activation-deactivation-products.html.
If you're still having trouble, please let us know what the exact issue is, including any error messages that you're receiving. It would also be helpful to know what version of Windows you're using.
    Best,

  • How do I upload Adobe Reader 9, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and other tools with the Pro onto my new computer?

Since I am already a customer of Adobe, I need to know how to upload Adobe Reader 9, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and the other tools that go with both programs onto my new Windows 7 HP computer without having to fill out a new customer form or without having to pay for another Adobe membership as a new member?  I need to know what to do step-by-step so that I can upload my Adobe reader 9, Adobe Acrobat XI Pro, and the other tools for the Reader and the Acrobat XI Pro.
You may send the step-by-step instructions to my e-mail address of [email address removed by host].
         Thank you!

I have been trying to start my subscription again for my Acrobat XI Pro and for the annual subscription of the PDF Export for Word and Excel.  The PDF Export expired according to my subscription list, but, I think that I had cancelled my Acrobat XI Pro of $ 29.99 monthly, so, I am wanting to presubscribe for it again, but, when I try to put my Code in for my Debit Card, it will not register with your company.
So, I do not know what to do to get it back again with my monthly and annually subscription payments for PDF Export and for Acrobat XI Pro.  I have already downloaded the Adobe Reader XI onto my computer so I am set for that product.  I just do not know what to do about the PDF Export and the Acrobat XI Pro to be able to get them started once again.

I am using Acrobat XI Pro and tried to install the current update. I got this error message: "Error 1328.Error applying patch to file C:\Config.Msi\pT64b3.tmp It has probably been updated by other means1 and can no longer be modified by this patch. For more information contact your patch vendor." tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still get the error. Searched for C:\Config.Msi\pT64b3.tmp and cannot find the path or the file

For AA XI, you only need the 11.0.09 patch. Download from http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=1&platform=Windows (Use "MAC" if a MAC is used).
