Acrobat 8 Professional being very slow

I'm having some trouble with Acrobat 8 being very slow, there's at least a 10 second lag between any mouse clicks or key presses. I have uninstalled and reinstalled and everything works fine up until i enter a digital signature, that's about when it starts slowing down. I've been using digital signatures for a while now and haven't had any problems until recently. some system changes are installation of Office 2007 and desktop search. I've told desktop search to basically only index email items, since that's the only reason i use it. Started noticing some slowing down after 2007 upgrade, but i don't have much of a choice in whether or not that is installed. has anyone else experienced this and possibly have a solution?

Hi cdjones... have you tried using Acrobat® with NOTHING else running in the background? Try this... press ctrl + Shift + esc to bring up your Task Manager. End process on every item under Your username (except Task Manager and explorer) then use Acrobat®. Notice any difference? If you do, then one or more of those applications running in the background are slowing things down.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Go to Settings>Safari and Clear Cookies, Data and History
    - Restore from backup. See:

is there a programme to use or should i take back to apple to ask them.

What do you mean by slow? Slow can mean many things. Is it the applications? Your Internet speeds? Do you feel you could benefit from a memory upgrade? I'm just looking for a little more information so I can help you effectively.

  • Finder being very slow on user account

    Hello,
I have a retina MacBook Pro with 16GB of ram. I am having an issue with finder being very slow on one of my user accounts, sometimes it is taking up to a 2mins to show the files in the folder. Also if often hangs and I get the beachball icon when clicking into folders and just using finder in general. This is on both local drives and network drives. I have 2 user accounts one for personal and one for work. My personal account has no problems and it is fast as I would expect from an SSD. My work account has all the same applications and I can't see anything obvious in activity monitor that would be causing it to be slow. I've thought about making a new user account but I would like to have all my settings etc the same as I have it set up just right now.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Andy

Problems such as yours are sometimes caused by files that should belong to you but are locked or have wrong permissions. This procedure will check for such files. It makes no changes and therefore will not, in itself, solve your problem.
    First, empty the Trash.
Triple-click the line below to select it, then copy the selected text to the Clipboard (command-C):
    find ~ $TMPDIR.. \( -flags +sappnd,schg,uappnd,uchg -o ! -user $UID -o ! -perm -600 -o -acl \) 2> /dev/null | wc -l
Launch the Terminal application in any of the following ways:
☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)
☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.
☞ Open LaunchPad. Click Utilities, then Terminal in the icon grid.
Paste into the Terminal window (command-V). The command may take a noticeable amount of time to run. Wait for a new line ending in a dollar sign (“$”) to appear.
The output of this command, on a line directly below what you entered, will be a number such as "41." Please post it in a reply.

  • Images not loading, safari is being very slow.

Since yesterday all images on every website I visit aren't loading and generally Safari is very slow, I have force quited multiple times as well as restarting my macbookpro. I was considering deleting Safari and re-installing it however i'm not sure where I can re-install it from after deleting as it doesn't appear in App Store or online anywhere. Any ideas? Thanks, Anna.
Additional Info: my mac is only about 1 year old, I do have chrome but i find it a lot slower than Safari (until recently).

    No need to delete Safari.
    Safari 6?
    Enable Develop menu
    Safari > Preferences > Advanced
Check mark in the box for " Enable Develop menu".
Click "Develop" menu in the Safari menu bar.
    1. Click  "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    2. If there is a checkmark next to "Disable Images" in the same dropdown, click on it remove it.
    Best.

  • Edge Animate being very slow

When I first downloaded Edge Animate, everything worked perfectly fine. Now, it's been a couple weeks and it has suddenly become very slow. Just trying to scroll through the timeline takes a while for it to follow through with my mouse dragging. Not sure what the issue is!

    Hi KontributeR
Is it possible for you to share the content? Does content have nested symbols? How deep is the nesting?

Hi DaddyPaycheck, apologies for the delay replying.
The hard drive is less than half full. A 500gb drive with 228gb remaining, plus 30 odd set aside for boot camp. So the drive size I expect is more than fine.
For further info I have done the following -
Re installed SL, backed up and restored files from Time Machine. Updated to 10.6.2 at moment.
Have cleared off loads of stuff that was sitting redundant and essentially gathering dust.
Used Clean My Mac to clear out all other types of bagged accrued over time.
Ran disk utility from the install disc - all fine.
Ran verify / repair permissions - all now fine.
Verify Disk (from utilities just now) - all fine.
Have unplugged all cables from back such as Ext HD / USB Ports / even speaker so that am starting / closing with only bone fide connections running.
Have "ejected" boot camp hd and closed down, still the delay.
Am at a loss to see where of what is causing this delay. I timed it again just now and at close down, I get the spinning icon for 50seconds before it finally closes, so something is going on.
Not sure if it is connected, but at start up, with the apple logo on display, I also get the spinning icon for about 20 seconds, before launching the desktop, which itself shows no signs of any problems whatsoever.
Just the shutting down that has me slightly concerned.

Very slow I Pad 2 since going to os6 many problems with loading apps. I have kept apps updated, looks like lots of bugs, are lacking, a mess over all just trying to do simple tasks getting on net, loading apps.  Mud would move faster. So you know I have had only Apple since Apple has been.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro printing very slow

    Dear All,
I have recently installed Acrobat 9 Pro on Mac OS 10.6 Snow Tiger. Works fine, but is incredibly slow in printing. Spooling takes ages.
The same files printed with Adobe Reader or Mac Preview print instantly (it's only text files, nothing heavy).
I have made sure that the "print as image" option is deselected. This happens with any printer (I have tried it on an HP LJ1300, an HP LJ2055, an Aficio 5000, Aficio 2000, and a Xerox Workcenter - so I suppose it has to do with Acrobat, not with the printer).
    Thanks
    Andrea

For both of you See if there is a new print Driver version for your printer.
For the person with OSX.6 (Snow Leopard)  do the following to install.
go to printer Utility and Delete the current Driver from list (after downloading latest Driver from Manufacturer).
    install new Driver perinstaller.
    Open Printer Utility
look for the new Printer listing and select.
Choose new Printer Listing as Your default Printer
    close Printer Utility.
    Go to System Preferences
Click Printing & Faxing (if still named that in SnowLeopard)
Choose your new printer Driver as default there as well.
    close System Prefernces
Your now set to use the latest Driver

  • Acrobat 9 pro is very slow.

    hello all,
i just wanted to know if anyone out there has a workaround, a band aid, a hack for Acrobat 9 pro? basically it is just sluggish functionality overall. i do alot of markups on pdfs and lately their is along lag after selecting a markup tool and clicking on the the document. opening and saving a file is very sluggish as well.
i can't disable the Webapi plugin because that controls the markup tools. i've searched around the web and no answer. if any knows of web site or a workaround for this problem that has is common in acrobat, i would really appreciate hearing from you. it's been really frustrating.
    thanks again

yup that did the trick. i created a test profile and the functionality of Acrobat was snappy. next i just renamed my original user profile, restarted and Acrobat is finally running much better. thanks so much for your advice brennao, ~graffiti.

  • Premiere Pro being very slow while previewing

So recently my friend sent me a png sequence with a alpha channel. And what I want to do with it is put it in Adobe Premiere with my YouTube videos I will edit it with.
But the problem was when I imported it as a png sequence in premiere and previewed the project, it stopped and started and acted very "laggy." I don't know why it is laggy because a png sequence is not a huge file.
IF anyone can help me on how to preview it without lag that would be amazing   And is there such thing as a h.264 with an alpha channel?
P.S: I did try converting the sequence into a QuickTime movie with a alpha channel. All it did was make it even more slow when previewing in premiere.

    Hi raffaele mariotti,
Please mention some more information mentioned below.
    1. Have you taken any backup through time machine for your user profile?
    2. What are the media files that you are using in Premiere Pro CC 2014 ?
    Regards,
    Vinay
