Acrobat 8 - single updater available?
I'd like to install my copy of Acrobat 8 on my wife's iMac now that I have v9 on all my machines. The iMac has 10.6 Snow Leopard on it and I have read that v8 will still run on that OS but it keeps crashing soon after startup -- including when I select "Check for updates" under the Help menu. I'm hoping a later version of v8 runs better under 10.6 but when I look at all the available updates on this site they all look incremental -- every .x.x release can only update the version immediately proceeding it; if that's true then it looks like I need to download almost a dozen updaters to get it up-to-date! Does anyone know of a method to get it updated with only 1 or 2 downloads?

Although I have been using a Mac for 14 years or so, as a "mature" Mac User I have only ever really known how to do what I really needed to do to satisfy my clients. As a "Techie" I am just about useless!
I had been trying, and failing to install the 8.2.6 upgrade that the Adobe Updater kept telling me was available for weeks, only to get a 1301 error message. I had tried reinstalling the software as the error message suggested, but then it was just v8.0.0, and the updater still refused to work generating a different error message. After an hour on the phone to Adobe they told me that I could expect no support from them, but one of the customer service guys refered me to "[email protected]".The very best thing Adobe has ever done for me - certainly!
There I read your post I did what you suggested and it worked perfectly - mind you, when it to actually install the 8.2.6 upgrade it went extremely slowly, with long pauses at about a third of the way, and then again at about three-quarters of the way along the progress bar. These pauses seemed so reminiscent of those earlier abortive attempts to add the 8.2.6 upgrade, but eventually - Halelluia - it all worked in the end!
Just one other thing - the dialogue box which told me that the upgrade had been completed also told me that I "could automatically install updates in the future by changing" my " Adobe Acrobat preferences". This sounds like a really good idea to me! (Mind you, I was worried when after all this the Preview details showed Version 8.0.0 still, but I opened the software and the update to 8.2.6 was confirmed in the "About Acrobat" dialogue).

Acrobat Pro 9.5.2 No Updates Available (to 9.5.3)
Since reading of the release of the January 8, 2013 updates I have been trying to update Acrobat Pro 9.5.2 to 9.5.3 but "Check for Updates" under Help invariably returns “No updates available.”
I have downloaded the manual update but I am trying to get the Check for Updates to work to avoid to always have to manually update the product.
I first checked Acrobat Pro 9 and when that failed to find the update decided to update Acrobat Reader first and have subsequently checked and frequently rechecked Acrobat Pro and continue to have the problem of not finding the current update. Reader X updated from the previous version to the current 10.1.5.33 although I will probably kill that to get to Reader 11.
The thought of uninstalling Acrobat Pro did occur to me but the update process for Acrobat Pro 9 has been proven to be extremely cumbersome due to a large number of updates that have to be sequentially updated not to mention a very slow process as the original updates for Acrobat Pro 9 were not incremental and therefore required complete replacement of the software.
I tried the repair option for Acrobat Pro 9 but that only wasted my time and failed to correct the problem.

Can you please do the following:
(Make sure AdobeARM.exe process is not running - exit Updater if visible or kill this process using Task Manager)
1.
rename existing AdobeARM.log file in the User Temp folder
C:\Users\YourUserName\AppData\Local\Temp

add iLogLevel DWORD 32 bit value in the registry below and set it to 1
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Adobe\Adobe ARM\1.0\ARM

Upgrading to latest Safari for OS X 10.6.8 MacBook Pro? No software updates available
I am getting several notices that my current safari browser (5.1.10) is out of date or not supported. Everywhere I look suggests that I should be able to upgrade to the latest version of Safari through my MacBook Pro's Software Updates (OS X 10.6.8). However, there is not a single upgrade available for my computer, and this has been the case for nearly a year. I would greatly appreciate some guidance on how or where to proceed to get the latest browser update.
Thanks!That only applies for the versions of Safari compatible with Snow Leopard. Newer ones require Lion or above; alternatively, you can switch to a product such as Firefox.
To upgrade the computer's OS, pen the Mac App Store and try downloading Yosemite. If you get told it's incompatible, choose About this Mac from the Apple menu, check if the computer has at least a Xeon or Core 2 Duo(not Core Duo) CPU and 2GB of RAM, and if it does, click here and order a download code for Lion 10.7.
Back up your data and check your applications for compatibility before upgrading. In particular, Mac OS X 10.7 and newer don't support PowerPC programs such as versions of Microsoft Office prior to 2008.

I'm constantly getting messages about having a new update available for Acrobat X Standard. The following message always shows up after the update process: Error 1328.Error applying patch to file C:\Config.Msi'fl7088.tmp. Acrobat 7.1 update installation issues
Having spent the best part of a whole day trying to install the latest Acrobat Professional version 7.1 update, I have finally found a solution which I hope may be of use to other sufferers of this problem.
My system is a dual HD setup with XP on drive C: and Vista on drive F: Acrobat Professional 7 is installed on the XP drive C: and not on the Vista drive.
All went well with the update on the C: drive until, halfway through the installation an error message popped up saying that it could not acces the folder F:\Windows\Winsxs\Policies.
This struck me as odd. Why would the programme be wanting to add information to a system folder on the F:(Vista) drive when the installation I am updating is on drive C:(XP) and I am booted up on drive C:
I duly checked the folder, F:\Windows\Winsxs and found no "Policies" folder within. Furthermore any and every attempt to gain access to that folder for the Acrobat updater failed. I went through all the Attrib commands from the command prompt, tried altering access permissions in safe mode and even booted into Vista to see if anything could be done. All of these actions drew a blank with the folder flatly denying access on all counts.
During all of this I was scouring the internet to find any similar cases and spotted one where someone had noticed that a "Policies" folder had been added to the Windows\Winsxs directory on a non-boot drive on their machine. Curiously this was after installing the Acrobat 7.1 update.
Finally I decided to take drastic action and disconnect the F: drive temporarily (luckily the boot.ini file is on the C: drive). I figured that if the programme couldn't see it, it would just get on and install properly on drive C: I am happy to say that my hunch worked and I was finally able to install the update.
My question for Adobe is, why did this happen? What possible reason could there be for the updater to require access to the other drive.
Had my dual-boot system been on a single HD my solution to the problem would not have been possible and I would still not be able to install the update.
I would welcome any comments from other forum members but especially from someone at Adobe Tech Support.Geetesh. I have an answer which may work for you.
For whatever reason the 7.1 installer requires access to the Vista Windows folder in order to install a policies folder in the Winsxs directory. This folder is locked and cannot be written to which, in turn, gives the error.
As you say, you cannot remove your Vista drive like I did but there is another way around the problem. Access your Vista drive from XP and temporarily rename the Windows folder to something like Windows2. Then create a new folder on the Vista drive and call it Windows. Inside the new Windows folder create another one and call it Winsxs. Now run the 7.1 installer in XP and you should find that it installs without the error. Once you have it installed you can safely rename the new Windows folder you created to something else and change your renamed Windows2 folder back to Windows.

Trying to update from Photoshop CS5 12.0 to 12.0.4 (only update available on Adobe site) fails
I try to manually update from Photoshop CS5 12.0 on Mac to 12.0.4 but the update fails. 12.0.4 is the only update available on the Adobe site that I can find for CS5. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Adobe Application Manger inside Illustrator says all products are up to date. "Updates" in Photoshop under the Help menu is greyed out. I can't print from Photoshop right now because it crashes. I'm assuming an update is in order. Please help!
Not sure if this is the right thing to do, but here's the entire log. I can't parse it very well. Perhaps you're able to? I read online that the 12.0 version was crashing on printing hence the attempt to upgrade.

What are the equivalents to AI single scan and AO single update (from v. 6.1) in version 8.2?
I just recently upgraded my labview program from version 6.1 to version 8.2 and now I'm converting over some of my VIs from the previous version. I'm looking for equivalent VIs to AI single scan and AO single update.
The functions are available if you install traditional DAQ as well as DAQmx but since the traditional DAQ driver is no longer getting updates, you'll want to transition to DAQmx. You should check the references that Abhinav T mentions in this post. A DAQmx Read is used for acquisition and a DAQmx Write is used for output.

Update multiple columns with single update statement..

i am reading the columns value from different table but i want to update it with signle update statement..
such as how to update multiple columns (50 columns) of table with single update statement .. is there any sql statement available i know it how to do with pl/sql..As I understood, may be this. Here i am updating ename,sal, comm columns all at once.

cannot re enable the add ons after the new 13.0.1 update ,it shows no update available and all the add-ons are disabled
I have the same problem. One minute everything was okay, the next minute all my addons were disabled.

I can reenable them but FF will disable them on the next startup. I uninstalled version 13 and installed version 12. Problem gone! So I'm still using version 12 and am afraid to update to version 13.
This problem began when I was trying to research and fix a problem (no history all-of-a-sudden) so it probably was something I caused. Can't recall everything I did though.
So: Does the addon problem I described have a solution? If so, I'll update my version 12 to version 13. Please respond..... -

I am at 10.7, lion. I am trying to update xcode from 4.1 to 4.2. app store says I have an UPDATE available. when i click on it, it says the message in the thread topic.
I have tried
1) , signing out of app store, ending itunes, re-sign-in
2) rebooting
3) deleting xcode
nothing works. when i send support email to Apple, they tell me the SAME thing the message does.
I only have 1 userid at apple.
does anyone have a solution for this?
by the way, NONE of my free or purchased apps that have the UDPATE indicator will actually update . they *all* produce the same message (thread title)
Timhi thank you for answering Dahveed. not sure where in the mas i find that? when i click on 'store' only my signed in id appears. i have only 1 registerd apple id that i use for mas and itunes etc. on all my mac's.

I just subscribed to Adobe Acrobat Standard from the cloud. I am running microsoft Vista and Google Chrome browser. I get the error message Adobe Acrobat is not currently available for your language or platform. For a list of supported platforms and languages: and I believe I meet the Vista requirements. How do I resolve this issue?
LorettaKallen are you trying to install Adobe Acrobat Standard 11 utilizing the Adobe Application Manager? Do you receive the same error message if you use Internet Explorer or Firefox?
