Acrobat 8 Standard - Printing Tax Forms in Black - No Forms Toolbar

I have filled out some tax forms in Acrobat 8 Standard, however, the font color for the filled out text is blue, and thus prints as a hard-to-read grey when printing on the laser printer.  I've searched and the standard advice seems to be to use the forms toolbar to change the font color, but when I go to View -> Toolbars, there is no option for the Forms toolbar.
Is there any way I can get this damned text to print as black?  Seems kinda silly to have a form fill-out function that you can't print the result of!

I was very pleased to find this info too. Thanks.
But something a little more important than how to do it is why is it so hard to find? I'm sure there are many more people out there who can't find this and I think it's because it's hard to find. The intuitive functionality, offered by the Properties Bar in Acrobat, called the Control bar in Illustrator, and the Options bar in Photoshop. Acrobat also appears to be the only one in that list that doesn't contain a secondary tool pallet for each function offered by the Properties bar, found in the Window menu.
I've been through everything Tina looked at and most of them seemed like they should contain the font color, although I couldn't find the Document Colors Option. And if it turned out that you can't edit the color, why would it pick red?
So my two questions are, why is this solution so hard to find?
How do you change the default font color so you don't need the Properties bar?
Ok, I feel better now :)

  • Adobe Acrobat standard printing problems

I use a program that most of my printable items are on legal paper. I
print these to letter size pdf files. As of today, each time I clicke print and change to
letter size and print, it defaults back to legal size and not all of my page prints.
I am using Adobe 7.0 standard. Please help!!!

Enter the printer properties and set the page size. If you want it to be the default, you will need to set it in the printer itself (start menu) and not in the application. The latter will reset when ever you change printers or restart the application.

  • Acrobat Standard Won't print first 1/2 page of scanned document

I have a previously unseen problem.  I've had the program for a few years, but now it won't print the top half of the first page of a scanned document (some of them).  I tried to print something I scanned a few weeks ago, and it works fine.  That one's also in color.  The ones that won't print fully are black and white.  Any ideas?

You're going to think this is impossible, but the problem only seems to occur with a couple of particular documents I was scanning.  I tried deleting the file, rescanning and resaving, then printing with the same 1/2 page result.  I tried scanning, saving, and printing a couple of sample documents (thinking I would send one of these to you), and there was no problem!  After multiple attempts with the problem document, I fed it through the document feder backwards, and then it scanned, saved, and printed with no problem.
I'm using a Brother MFC-J6710DW printer, Windows XP Pro, Acrobat Standard 7.0.  I've actually tried to update Acrobat, without success for some reason.  The actual problem document is too sensitive for me to send out.  I'd like to hear ideas, in case this repeats.
    Thank you.

  • Acrobat Standard (9.4.6) - Issue: "Acrobat could not create a new PDF form"

I have Adobe Acrobat Standard (version 9.4.6).  I am trying to create a form but when I start the form wizard, locate the document to convert and click next, I get an error message "Acrobat could not create a new PDF form."  What's wrong?  (I've used this feature before in Adobe Pro so I am familiar with the process but I am using Standard now).  It's not letting me upload my document (an MS Word 2003 document).  Please, someone, anyone, help!  I think I got a bad batch of software here.  Any suggestions?  If it's hopeless, who do I call for a replacement if that's the case?  Is this software under warranty?

    Hello Michael,
Thank you for your email.  The file I am trying to convert to PDF and create a form with is a MS Office Word 2003 file.  It isn't any specific file; the issue happens every time.  I type my text in the Word doc and then proceed to open Adobe Acrobat Standard and use the wizard to create a form from an existing file.  I tried to repairing the software but it does not help.  Any other suggestions?  Is this version of software defective?  I really need this feature.  I look forward to your reply.  Thanks.

  • How do I print from PSE9 to Acrobat Standard X?

I have a new computer with Windows 7 and PSE 9 and Acrobat Standard X.
I have no problems editing and printing pictures out on my HP 7410.  However when I attempt to print a pdf it says its doing it (but I do not see the normal Adobe logo going round bottom right hand corner, nor do I get a pdf.
When I go into Acrobat and follow the option to create a pdf from a file I get my pdf but this is not v convenient - it is, for me, v much a temporary "work round" - can anyone help?
I did attempt to "search the forum" for similar queries but that didn't seem to be operational either!!
    Look forward to hearing something!

    Hi,
Maybe some more details would help in isolating the issue :
As you said "I have no problems editing and printing pictures out on my HP 7410" , Are you able to print any other files (other than pdf) edited in PSE correctly ?
Do you see any error message or something while printing pdf from PSE ? If yes, then what are the steps you are taking and when do you encounter the problem ?
    thanks,
    Ash

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard v 8 works, but print-to-PDF does not

I've been trying to migrate my main computer usage from an XP desktop to a Windows 7 laptop. I've had Acrobat Standard v 8 on both computers for years but have rarely used the laptop. (I mostly used the laptop as a dumb terminal to reach through the internet to my desktop.) Now I'm determined to make the laptop into my daily WORKING computer.
I see that Acrobat Standard works on the laptop (opens files, deletes pages, etc.) but I cannot print anything to PDF. When I try to print (from Notepad, Word, or anything) the "Adobe PDF" printer shows as my default printer. But nothing happens. It doesn't ask for a filename and the printer window (?) shows error on printing.
I uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Standard 8 in January 2013 when it had stopped working altogether (opening a PDF would flash open then close/crash) which was probably caused by "a friend" installing an unlicensed (or wrongly licensed) version of Microsoft Office 2010. I uninstalled all of that mush and put a new version of Office on (2013, licensed). I don't recall if the print-to-PDF has worked since; but I suspect not.
Does anyone know how to fix it?
I'm afraid to uninstall and reinstall the whole Acrobat again. Someone once told me that you can only re-activate your license so many times and then one day it won't reactivate. And since my version is so old and has been reinstalled after virus cleanups (reformatting system disks), I don't know if Tech Support will fix that sort of activation problem. That last thing I want to do is use new software, or have to go to a non-Adobe PDF editor when I already have software paid for. And yes, I have the original Acrobat Standard v 8 CDs.

    1. I don't care about the button in Word; just trying to get a PRINT-TO-PDF function going.
    2. The CD installed 8.0.0 even though I have 8.1.4 on my other computer (the XP desktop I'm trying to make obsolete). I will try to find upgrade downloads somewhere.
    3. I tried to use the original CD and do a "Repair" option (not remove nor install). It went through the motions and would come up with an error. So I googled and found the article titled "Error "The file AdobePDF.dll is needed" | CS3 | 64-bit Windows" (http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/error-file-adobepdf-dll-needed.html) and applied the directions for Windows 7 64-bit version (which my laptop is), but the fix didn't work.
Still researching, and #2 above looks like the best next course of action.

  • How do I install the PDF printer in Acrobat Standard 10.1.12??

Updated to Acrobat Standard 10.1.12 a week ago and noticed that no PDF printer was installed.  How do I install the PDF printer??

    Sara,
Yes I’m running Windows 7 (64-bit).  I went to the web site and followed the Add Printer instructions.  I tried all of the Adobe PDF Converters and I got either one or the other of the two messages in the attached file.  I appreciate your help and hope you’ve got other ideas.  By the way, I’ve already completely un-installed Acrobat Standard X and reinstalled.  No joy.  When I got this PC I had to install this version of Acrobat on the machine and I had no problems like this.  I have also applied several updates to my original version of Acrobat Standard X and I never had this issue.  This issue just came about when I applied the 10.1.12 update.  But the un-install and re-install has not fixed the PDF printer issue.
So, hope you’ve got some other magic.  It does seem like some needed Adobe software is missing or there is something else on my machine that is impacting the proper installation of the Adobe software pieces (or not allowing some pieces to install).
    Thanks for your help,
    Nick

  • Can't print from PowerPoint 2003 using Acrobat Standard 9.3.4

Getting an error while trying to print using the PDF icon in PowerPoint (2003): “An error occurred while trying to print to Adobe PDF”.  Cannot print to the Adobe PDF printer either.  Acrobat Standard was removed and re-installed and still cannot print.

I did as benshaine posted in his thread here: https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/questions/789780 I installed Firefox 3.5.10 to my desktop, printed from 3.5.10 and then went back into 3.6.x and I could print.

  • Adobe Acrobat Standard XI print issue

When opening a PDF in internet explorer, adobe acrobat won’t read pre chosen print driver settings.
When using acrobat stand alone, not in internet explorer, it does read the print settings.
Specifically the issue is you set up print driver as single sided print under finishing.
Only when you open PDF in IE, does acrobat choose 2 sided, it doesn’t read your single side setting under finishing.
This does not happen for adobe reader by itself, with no acrobat. If acrobat is installed in addition to adobe reader, it still happens for acrobat.
    Windows 7 64bit Enterprise
    Internet Explorer - 10.0.9200.16897
    Adobe Reader XI - 11.0.3
Adobe Acrobat Standard XI - 11.0.0 also tried update to 11.0.09

    Try this KB document:
Serial dialog box appears | Printing | Version 11.0.01

  • How to find standard print programs for ADOBE forms

    Hi All,
My question is how to find the standard SAP print program for a SAP provided ADOBE form. For example - how to find what is the satndard SAP provided print program for the ADOBE form for payment advice 'F110_AVIS_INT'.
As by default in the transaction F110 (where the payment advice form configuration is done), a SAP Script form is attached and the print program assigned is an SAP Script (as it contains call to function module like open_form, write_form... ) program and not an ADOBE print program.

    Hi Renu,
I have gone through the link provided by you but it only shows a list of standard PDF forms.
My question was how to find the standard SAP provided print program (or driver program which contains the data fetch logic and passing of the data to the interface of the ADOBE form) for these SAP provided ADOBE form.
If SAP has provided standard ADOBE form then definitely they would also have provided the standard print program too ?
    @Srihari,
The path system --> Status --> program SAPLFPUIFB is the standard program for the SFP transaction and not for the payment advice form F110_AVIS_INT.
It will be same for all the ADOBE forms if we check in System --> Status --> Program.

  • Acrobat Standard XI - Sending fillable forms to people who only have Reader?

    Hi there,
I really hope someone can help me, as I am quite frustrated. I have thought about buying Acrobat for a while but my most recent need is what really encouraged me to buy it --
I want to create an interactive, fillable form for our customers to fill out and resubmit. Although I can create the document with the form fields fine, my co-workers who only have Adobe Reader either can't fill it out, or can't save it once it's filled out, and have been returning them to me blank.
Is there an extra step I need to take to ensure that people who can only VIEW pdf's (such as people with Adobe Reader) can interact with the form and send it back to me filled out? Not all of our customers are going to have shelled out $300 for Acrobat. If this is something that I can't accomplish with Acrobat Standard, then I essentially wasted $300, which is a pretty sizable amount of money. I will not be spending an additional $200 for Acrobat Pro and I will feel kinda duped by Adobe, to be honest.
    Please help.

    Try67, I appreciate the response.
However, when I go to Save As Other, my only options are "Text" and "Word or Excel Online."
Is it true that I can't save it as a Reader Extended PDF in Standard, and that I have to upgrade to Pro? Seems kind of ridiculous to have to spend an extra $200 for this simple tiny capability.
Any other insight you have would be very, very, very much appreciated.

  • Acrobat Standard 9.1 - Forms Distribution

I am trying to distribute a form using Acrobat Standard 9.1.  When I try to use either to use the adobe.com or "Save a local copy and manually send it later" option, I am getting this error: "The filename you specified is not valid because it does not include a .pdf extension, contains one or more invalid characters or the path preceding it refers to a protected system location."  None of these is true.  I was able to do this last October and November, but last month, I had to get a new disk and loaded Acrobat on the new disk along with my other programs.
    Does anyone have a suggestion?
    Kit Marty, Medina, Ohio

    Bill,
To answer your last question first, I am running Windows NT Professional SP3.  The file name I tried to use was "Germ Patrol Registration Form (June 5, 2009)".  More importantly, using the 8-chracter file name "Register" worked.  Thanks for your help.
However, one thing that really puzzles me is that prior to reloading my system onto a new disk last month, the long file name worked.  I created a form for distribution in November with the name "Germ Patrol Registration Form (November 21 2008)" and it worked just fine.  Is there some default setting buried in Acrobat's preferences that tells it to accept only short file names for files that will be distributed?

  • Printing web page to pdf file using Acrobat Standard 9

When I print a web page to a pdf file, the text in the file is mostly garbled.  I have no problems in creating pdf files from MS office or other software.  I have Windows 7 Home.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks

I do have Internet Explorer 9 and I was able to print web pages correctly following  your suggestions.
    Thanks for your help.

There were problems with IE9 on it's initial release and that may be what you are seeing if that is the browser (you did not indicate the browser and that may be a key). If you have a different browser you might try that one with the same pages to see if it browser related.
By saying garbled it sounds like the fonts did not make it or you have selected "Use Local Fonts" in Acrobat. Try checking the latter first. Then check if the fonts are embedded in the PDF by checking the document properties (ctrl-D). If they are not, go back to the browser and select the press or print job options before printing and see if they get embedded and if your problem is resolved.

  • I just purchased Adobe Acrobat Standard DC andf upgraded from Acrobat XI. When I instalkled it on my PC the print Production Tools were there and functional. I installed it on my Laptop and those tolls are not there. What do I need to do to have Print Pro

I just purchased Adobe Acrobat Standard DC andf upgraded from Acrobat XI. When I instalkled it on my PC the print Production Tools were there and functional. I installed it on my Laptop and those tolls are not there. What do I need to do to have Print Production Tools on both computers?

This is quite odd. I wonder if you could try something for me on EACH computer.
Use Help > About Adobe Acrobat DC.
At the top of the box it should say Adobe Acrobat Pro DC or Adobe Acrobat Standard DC.
On each of the two machines, what does it say? (I think something odd has happened)
