Acrobat 8 Standard typewriter tool color

My IT department had to re-install my Acrobat 8 Std. Before,
my typewriter tool has been black, now all of a sudden it's RED.
Help, I need the black back. I downloaded 8.1.1 & 8.1.2 patches
but it didn't help....

I recently switched from Acrobat 9 Pro Extended to Acrobat X Standard.   May those using the Standard version enable the typewriter tool for Reader?  When I select Save As-Reader Extended PDF, it only gives the option for Enabling Forms Fill-In.  When I saved my document, the typewriter tool was not activated for the users having access to Reader only.  Thanks.

  • I have the Acrobat X Standard, the tool box no longer gives me the options I had before like splitting documents. Please help!

I have the Acrobat X Standard, the tool box no longer gives me the options I had before like splitting documents. Please help!

Was it AA X Std that you had these options in (sorry, I only have Pro)? If it was the trial (that is Pro), it may be that Std does not have to feature. Under XI at the Adobe site, there is a comparison of features between Std and Pro that might give you a hint.
There is also an option to turn on or hide many tools. For me there is a small icon just above the tools...comment titles. If you select that it give a list of tools you can display. Often, several are not displayed by default. How you lost them is another things, but it is getting them that is the basic question.

  • Acrobat 9 Editing Typewriter tool

I can't get to my AA9 right now (recovering the HD), but in AA8 the tools appear to be grayed out, but they are still active. That may be the same appearance issue for you. Have you tried them? Of course, in AA8 only the font size and line spacing can be changed, not the font or color.
Sorry Bill.. had to start a new discussion because the blue Reply button did not function (any ideas on that?!)
Yes I tried clicking on the grayed tools but no response. Further to my question, I opened another pdf and was able to use Typewriter to type. However, this time the size and line spacing tools were grayed out, but I was able to change font and font size using the boxes on the right, which were mysteriously active in doc#2... the inconsistency doesn't make sense.. yet
Just turned up a most bizarre wrinkle to this issue.
I was using the typewriter tool in another document (Doc#2). This time the tools were not grayed out, and I was able to change the font, font size and font color at will. When I returned to the first document (Doc#1 -where the typewriter is active, but the tools all grayed out) and typed into the document I was very surprised to see that all the Typewriter settings from the Doc#2 were now applied to the Typewriter tool in Doc#1 !!!  Go figure... By the way, this is all taking place in Windows XP 5.1

You may be viewing the document in PDF/A mode which turns off Typewriter and Forms editing.  Don't ask me why; I just discovered it.  Go to Edit --> Preferences on the tool bar and select the "Documents" category.  On that window is PDF/A View Mode.  Set the view mode to "Never" (view documents in PDF/A mode).  See screen shot below.  That fixed the problem for me; hope it works for you.

  • Since the 12/9/14 update of Adobe Acrobat XI Standard to 11.0.10 I have lost the basic colors of the highlighting tool. How do I fix this?

Adobe Acrobat XI Standard to 11.0.10 I have lost the basic colors of the highlighting tool. How do I fix this?

    Hi,
It appears that this was a bug that was introduced in the latest update. Others have been able to resolve this issue by using the Acrobat Cleaner tool to uninstall and then reinstall Acrobat. You might try this if you have a few spare moments.
And can you please share the problem PDF  which was working correctly in the earlier version.
    Thank you

  • Acrobat 9 typewriter tool

In Acrobat 9 Standard, the typewriter tool controls; text
size, line spacing, and text color are grayed out.
Although I can use the typewriter tool, the text size and
    color cannot be changed.
Should these controls be available in the Standard
    version?

  • Typewriter tool - text color after entry fades from color selected?

I have followed all the other directions for preferences, properties and have sucessfully set those however - after entering any text in any color - say red. or black after the enter button is pressed and i've moved anywhere else in the document - the text color is displays and prints in a faded version. How can this be corrected?

I am also having the same issue with Acrobat X Standard.  When I use the typewriter tool in any new or existing PDF and add text in any color or font face when I mouse out to any part of the document the added text fades as if the opacity was being lowered so it's much lighter color than it should be.
I am using:  Windows 7 Pro 64-bit and have local admin rights.
I've checked the Perferences > General section to ensure I am only using certified Adobe Plugins and forced Acrobat to rewrite the folder in  " %appdata%\Adobe\Acrobat\10.0\ " without any resolution.  The new 10.0 folder does not contain the Perferences folder inside either.
I went a step further and renamed all the Acrobat folders in my user profile in Local, LocalLow, and Roaming then ran Repair for Acrobat X Standard, rebooted computer, then open Acrobat back up with the same text fading issue when using the typewriter tool.
I created another new user with local admin rights but the typewriter tool does not fade the text there at all when loses focus.   Short of transfering to that new profile anyone have any other ideas to resolve this issue?

  • How do I get more drawing tools for editing in Acrobat 9 standard?

I have Acrobat 9 Standard, and I am trying to edit architectural PDFs with the editing tools available. What I need is a way to create and save symbols, draw simple revisions, and generally apply a layer to indicate changes (a red line plan) for the architects and engineers I work with. They utilize this PDF to modify their DWG files and produce revised drawings. I do not want to train in Autocad if I can continue to utilize Adobe products to achieve the same goal. Acrobat gives me a lot of tools to work with, but I need more related to architectural drawing. I will upgrade or purchase another program if need be.

  • In Acrobat 8 Professional, how can I change the typewriter text color?

I tried selecting the text then pressing Ctrl-E but the text properties toolbar that appears says, "No current selection." I tried this method another user suggested:
"1. Use the text box tool to type some text, then select the text
    2. Use the properties bar, ctrl-E, or View > Toolbars > Properties Bar, to change the color of the font
    3. Highlight the text, not the text box and copy the text.
    4. Click on the typewriter tool and type some text.
    5. Click on the comments menu and select "Show Comments List", in the comments list you should see the typewriter entry from step 4 above.
    6. Highlight the typewriter text in the comments window then paste the copied text from step 3 above.  It should paste with the color selected in the properties bar.
    7. Right click an area of the typewriter entry in the comments list, and choose properties.
    8. On the General tab check the "Make Properties Default" Check box and click OK.
All new typewriter entries should now use this new font color. "
But when I get to STEP #2 the text properties toolbar that appears has all the options to edit the text shaded so I cannot select the option to change the text color. Any help would be appreciated!

There really aren't default outgoing font settings. They are only there for viewing. A workaround I have seen mentioned is to start you signature with the font style you want to use. When you start your message, click in that first part of your signature.

  • How do you increase the font size to bigger than 24, using the typewriter tool in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 for Mac?

How do you increase the font size to bigger than 24, using the typewriter tool in Adobe Acrobat Pro 9 for Mac?   Often I just want to label an item on a map that is in PDF and want to use a simple label rather than a Text Box for labeling, but have yet to find a way to increase the font size beyond 24.   Can someone help me with this? - JML

  • Color changes when creating PDF in Acrobat X Standard

I'm printing to PDF from Word 2010 by using Acrobat X Standard.  Here are the two issues:
I have overlaid two text boxes (different colors) on top of each other.  The overall image should be blue on top and bottom with tan in the middle.  When I print to PDF in Word, the PDF is perfect; however, when I print to the printer, the blue on the bottom changes to purple, while the blue on top is correct.  Again, this is the same blue text box, so I don't know why the color changes.
Also, the tan is a darker shade than what the PDF shows.
Is this a printer issue or PDF settings issue?
I'm new to using Acrobat, so any step-by-step help is very much appreciated!
    Thank you.

Create Adobe PDF is a (by default) a LOSSLESS operation where Acrobat processes the Word graphics data directly into PDF.   Printing is a LOSSY operation that first has Word convert Word->”printer spool”, then the printer driver (Adobe PDF) converts that “printer spool” into Postscript, and then Distiller converts the Postscript into PDF.   As you might imagine, you get MUCH higher quality and fidelity results from the former.
Have you verified that you are using the same color management settings in the printer from both Word and Acrobat?  Is the Konica configured for Postscript, PCL, other?  There are SO MANY possible options that could be impacting your configuration…
