Acrobat 8 Standard update Issue
I am attempting to download and install the latest security update 8.1.14. The installer keeps telling me that Acrobat must close before it can install. I get this message even though I do not have Acrobat open. I tried to repair/modify/remove the program through Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs and I get the same message. I also have PhotoShop CS3 on my computer. Could this be causing the problem?
John, thank you for your time. I did bring up the task manager, but acrobat does not appear under the applications tab. I have not had this problem in the past and feel that Acrobat may be corrupted. I would like to remove it completely and re-install. Do you have any suggestions on how to remove it? It is non-responsive using control panel/add-remove programs and I can not find an uninstaller in the Adobe folder C:/Program files/Adobe.

I say again that I have acquired the Acrobat 8.0 version honestly. I ordered this version even if a handler is Germany. This handler was registered on the website at Adobe as a handler. If you do not believe me, I'm looking for stuff from my archive. But this time I would like to have then paid by you. Again, it is known that the version 8 Without the update 8.3, constantly has errors. I used to simply confirmed the update button. Today there is no longer this site. You are obliged to provide me with the update. Or give me a free replacement to the next higher version. Please give me a link to a zip file that contains a setup file.

Ich sage nochmals, dass ich die Acrobat 8.0 Version ehrlich erworben habe. Ich habe diese Version auch bei einem Handler ist Deutschland bestellt. Dieser Handler war auch auf der Webseite bei Adobe als Handler registriert. Wenn Sie mir nicht glauben, werde ich die Sachen aus meinem Archiv suchen. Diese Zeit möchte ich aber dann von Ihnen bezahlt haben. Nochmals, es ist bekannt, das die Version 8. Ohne das Update 8.3, ständig Fehler hat. Ich habe früher einfach das Update Button bestätigt. Heute gibt es diese Seite nicht mehr. Sie sind dazu verpflichtet, mir das Update zu liefern. Oder liefern Sie mir kostenlosen Ersatz auf die nächste Höhere Version. Bitte, Sie mir einen Link mit einer Zip-Datei, die eine Setup Datei beinhaltet.

How did you purchase? AA8 has not been available for almost 8 yrs or so. The only current version available from Adobe is 11 and you can not upgrade from 7 to 11, but have to buy the full product.
Updates also require the use of the S/N of the qualifying product (AA7 in your case) to be able to use the newer product. So at this point, it is unclear what you actually have.

Sie sehen in der Anlage, dieser Mail, das ich das Produkt ehrlich gekauft habe.
Ich verwende nur original Software.
Die Acrobat Version 8.0, war immer sehr gut für mich.
Diese Version reichte für mich vollkommen aus.
Ich hatte einen Computerabsturz und musste Acrobat auch neu installieren.
Die Acrobat Version 8.0, ohne Update, stürzt immer ab.
Das können Sie auch im Internet lesen.
Jeder weiß das, dass Acrobat Version 8.0, ohne Update abstürzt.
Es gibt aber dies Update nicht mehr zum Download.
Ich erwarte jetzt von Adobe, kostenlose Abhilfe.
Ich möchte jetzt eine kostenlose Fehlerbeseitigung.
Oder geben Sie mir ein kostenloses Update auf die neue Version.

From what I can see, it appears that you were able to install Acrobat, but can not do the updates. In that case, try the updates from the ftp site. I will have to come back with the address that I do not have on this machine. The html updates are no longer available for some reason, but the ftp site contains all the updates. You do have to install the updates in order in general, though you only have to reboot after the last update. I will change computers and find the ftp link to provide you.

Acrobat 8.0 Standard Update issues
I had to reinstall Acrobat Standard 8.0. I want to apply updates. I attempted to star witht he first one listed on the update page; was given an error that I do not have an Adobe product installed. I do and the serial number is listed un my account. Help with an update path would be appreciated.
What specific update are you trying to apply. Which operating system are you using Acrobat 8.0 Standard on?

Adobe Acrobat Automatic Update Issues
When I let Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard Automatic Updater install update 8.1.4, it crashes my operating system, Windows Vista Home Premium, and I have to recover it using latest known good configuration. What can I do to solve this problem? I am using 8.1.3.

Acrobat Standard updated and now automatically starts every time computer reboots.
Adobe insisted that I update my program yesterday, so I did. But now each time I reboot my computer, Acrobat starts automatically and freezes the entire PC up. I have tried to contact Adobe support but they won't help with anything on Acrobat 7. Can someone please help me get this to stop starting by itself?
Sounds like you added Acrobat to your Startup by accident. Remove it from the list and you should be good.

it would probably be easiest to uninstall acrobat, run the cleaner (http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html), then reinstall acrobat and then update.

I have a customer who uses Adobe Acrobat Pro 11. When she receives PDFs, she cannot see the color green, certain boxes(most of the ones she cannot see all have green in them),and pictures. When I opened this same PDF document in Adobe Reader 11, Adobe Acrobat Standard 11, and Fox it reader, I could see everything as normal. Her version of Acrobat is up to date. Acrobat X update disables Adobe plug-in in Chrome.
After locally installing Adobe Acrobat X and running the update in our lab environment, the Acrobat plug-in in Google Chrome becomes disabled and requires the user to download the PDF rather then viewing it within the browser window. Since Chrome has been virtually installed within our lab environment, there is no option available for enabling the plug-in. Is there a method available that would allow us to customize the installation of the update to prevent the plug-in from being disabled?

Adobe Acrobat Standard - Defaults
Adobe ackowledges that Novell default settings should be used, however, Plain Text View comes up automatically with the email screen. What settings can be made in Adobe (even if it has ro be done on a daily basis on one user's workstation, not the network) to avoid this problem? It is critical to always have the view in HTML otherwise lists etc do not show up properly and the text size is far too small.
