Acrobat 8 STD printing problem

Acrobat 8 STD prints all pages in landscape when "choose paper source by PDF page size" with the bizhub 450c this does not occur with acrobat 6 STD. is there a fix for this or a setting that I am missing somewhere?

This only seems to be happening with 8.5" x 11" pages. When I print a multiple page size document with this setting the 11" x 17" pages print fine both portrait and landscape. It also seems to work fine when I print to a Savin printer, but I have the problem when I print to a Fiery. I'm not sure if there needs to be a fix with Adobe Acrobat or the Fiery Print Driver.

printer: Xerox 252 with Fiery Controller
    Software: Acrobat Pro 8

The problem occurs when I am printing a binder that consists of 8x11 and 11x17's. The printer locks up and does not print. We have had the Xerox techs come out but after numerous trouble shooting efforts we came to a conclusion that there is an issue with Acrobat 8.
Also, in order to print an 8x11 or 11x17 there is a need to go through and set the file size for each time we print. The check box "print by pdf source size" is checked and we are still having problems.
I've had no issue with Acrobat 7 and the problems I'm having are with Acrobat pro 8.

  • Acrobat 9 Pro Printing Problem

I have a problem with printing in Acrobat 9 Professional. I am printing to a Canon imageRunner C3220 color laser printer, using PS3 driver. My OS is Windows XP Pro x64 2003 SP2.
Only the first page of multipage PDFs will print. I have checked Acrobat print settings as well as the printer's settings, and all seems to be correct. I sent a sample document to a co-worker and she printed it using Reader without a problem. The majority of the documents I create eventually become PDFs. This would be a serious problem if there is no solution.
Acrobat 8 worked fine. Any help would be appreciated.

    Chuck,
I just went to the Canon website. For your printer, some of the printer
boards use Adobe PS3 and some of the printer boards use emulation. Can
you check to see which you have?

  • Acrobat 8.0 Printing Problem?

I am having a problem using Acrobat 8.0, updated, and printing a pdf document from IE 8 or 9.  I am using Windows Vista, updated. The problem I am having is when I attempt to print a web page thru the Adobe printer the titling and oulining of the page will print exactly as on screen, however the 'data' or verbiage of the page comes thru as gibberish.  This problem developed approximately 4 weeks ago.  I have been using the above OS and applications for approximately 4 years no problem such as this,  when suddenly this arose.
Does anyone have any insight on this?
    Thank you,
    SMW

    Bill,
Thanks again for the thoughts on this.  I have used both the IE8 and the IE9 to the same results, both before and after the harddrive failure and subsequent re-installs of the software.  I have attached a couple of examples of the problem.  The first is a page where the website provided 'Printer Friendly' options for the printing.  The second is simply a webpage where I converted the web page to pdf.
    Thanks for any insight.

  • Adobe Acrobat XI Pro Printer Problem

When I export my *.doc to a *.PDF using Word, the *.PDF generated displays correctly on my computer but prints incorrectly on my printer. Whole sections of text will not show up on the physical printout. All my software is up to date. Please help.

Check to see if the printer in Acrobat is set to document and markup. It may be that the information being printed has been restricted. When you say export, what do you mean. There is no export as such in WORD, only print to the Adobe PDF printer, Save As Adobe PDF, Save As PDF & other (the MS plugin), and the Adobe menu for create PDF (this is PDF Maker). The last comment may not be the issue for you, but is a clarification question on how you got the PDF.

  • Acrobat 8 Std prints spots of page for only 1 user

I have a user that when they print a PDF using Adobe Acrobat 8 Standard, there are spots all over the page and the print is garbled. Other users on this computer can print fine. This user can print other things like word documents, etc fine on this computer.
I have reinstalled printer drivers, tried PCL5, PCL6, and Postscript drivers.
Is there a way to copy over the Adobe settings from one user to another on the same computer? Windows XP, part of a corp network running Active Directory. Prints fine for 3 users but not 1. My thought is copying over c:\Documents and Settings\UserA\Application Data\Adobe\*.* to c:\Documents and Settings\UserB\Application Data\Adobe\*.*
Other thoughts would be to copy over c:\Documents and Settings\UserA\Local Settings\Application Data\Adobe\*.*
    Maybe going into the registry?
Any thoughts that might hold user settings?

Did you ever figure this out?  I am having the same issue and it's very frustrating!

  • Acrobat 8 std printing in XP

I am sorry if this topic has been covered in this forum, the search "feature" is terrible and keeps returning results for Macintosh.
I am printing to paper pdf files that start out as files ranging from 80KB to 200KB.  When I print the files it seems to take a very long time.  I have been watching the print queue and as the docuements are spooling they are using up an enormous amount of memory on the printer.  A 120KB document that is 3 pages is spooling to 260MB which is over 20 times the original size of the document.  It takes over 5 minutes for this data to get spooled to the printer over a USB cable.
I am using an HP Laserjet 1300n locally attached to the computer with a USB cable.  I have downloaded and installed the latest HP drivers for my OS, both PCL 5 and 6.  I have tried printing from reader version 9 and the spooled data is only 5MB but it doesn't print much faster.  I recently installed all available updates for version 8 Std but I am still having this issue.  This didn't used to happen.  I

  • Some of the times when I print a document from the internet using my Adobe Acrobat 8 Pro printer, the letters appear in the PDF as symbols, How do I correct the problem?

On many documents that I try and print from the internet such as receipts, conformations, etc, using my Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional printer, the PDF shows some if not all the letters as symbols.  I think it might be font issue, but do not know how to fix the problem.  Any suggestions.
On another issue, can a Tiff file of my signature be inserted in a PDF?

    Hello,
For 1st issue please follow the steps in given article:
Missing or Garbled Text Printing from IE9 to Adobe PDF Printer
    For 2nd issue:
You can create a signature appearance:
For example, you can include your scanned signature.
1  (Optional) Save the desired image on a page by itself, and convert the page to PDF.
2  Choose Edit > Preferences (Windows) or Acrobat (Mac OS) > Preferences, and select Security.
3  Click New, and type a title.
4  (Optional) Select Imported Graphic, click File, and select the desired file.
    5  Specify options as desired.

  • Acrobat 9 printing problem

    Here's the scenario:
Created a 1-age document in InDesign CS4, text with one jpeg. Created PDF. Tried to print from Acrobat 9.1.0 (Mac 10.5.6) but get error "Could not Print Document" then "No Pages were Selected."
Other jobs, created in InDesign CS4 (same day as previous job created). Saved to PDF using same settings, etc. Opened in Acrobat and printed fine.
PRoblem job would print fine from InDesign, and would print fine from Acrobat if Advanced Print option was set to "Print as Image". What could be going on with the Acrobat in the first job? Image in the document was a clean JPG (I also tried it with an EPS image with and without clipping paths). Same error every time.

All the text in the problem style is used elsewhere in the document on pages that will print fine on their own. In fact, I, myself, have no problems printing the PDF and no errors happened while making the PDF. A large amount (although not all people) had difficulty printing when they received an error simply saying the document could not be printed. Going page by page revealed the element that was causing the problem. Once the nested style was removed, the file worked fine.

  • Printing Problems with PDF - Adobe Acrobat

    Printer - HP Deskjet 3070A
Laptop - Asus Zenbook running Windows 7 Home Premium
Issue: Printing problems with PDF (Adobe Acrobat Reader)
    Dear All,
    Please help!
My printer was working absolutely perfectly until my brother in law recently needed to borrow my printer. He plugged in his laptop running Windows 8 (awful thing that is). Since he did this to print his own PDF, I cannot print mine.
Although all the text will appear on the page perfectly both in the document view and on actual printing, it appears that some of the transparent formatting stuff on a PDF - such as boxes you have to fill in and transparent areas (such as you find on glorious tax forms) are omitted completely. In fact, in their place I was getting a single black dot. Now, after uninstalling and re-installing updates for the printer, windows 7, adobe acrobat reader, etc.etc. I get squat. Just all the text laid out but none of the shading or boxes.
I have tried fiddling with the printer settings; the  print as 'photo' option, dpi settings, greyscale - as much as I can think of and I am thoroughly stumped.
In a desperate attempt, I even installed the Universal Printer Drivers - thinking it might have been that. No. All I got was a page of gobbledygook. Consequently, I uninstalled and reinstalled the normal drivers again.
If there are any wonderful people out there with any fabulous ideas about how I can get my shading and boxes back; I'd  very much appreciate it. Sadly I have a tax return to fill out (which is already fabulously late) and need my printer to work!
    Much appreciation in advance x

    Hey there @Reverie!
Thanks for posting on the HP Forums!
I can see that the printer is no longer printing in the correct format after it was plugged into the Windows 8 computer!  You mentioned you have run the updates and uninstalled/re-installed the printer software.  Have you uninstalled and re-installed the Adobe software? Are you getting the same issue from other programs as well? Are you getting the same issues if you are logged in as a different user on the computer?
I have located the HP Update Software Utility that may be able to help.  You can download an run the utility.  It may be able to locate any other updates for the printer.
I would also recommend running a disk cleanup on the computer to clear any temporary files and junk files that may be causing some performance or software issues. If you do not know how to run a disk cleanup on the computer please follow this document regarding Delete files using Disk Cleanup.  It is recommended to restart the computer after a disk cleanup. After the restart try the print job again!
Let me know if that helped and thanks again for posting on the HP Forums!

If you're running Mac OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or 10.7 (Lion), Adobe PDF is replaced.

  • Adobe 8 Std Printer Issue

Does anyone out there know of this problem (and hopefully a solution)
I have installed Adobe Acrobat 8 Std on a users PC but have a problem towards the end of the installation where the installation reports that it is unable to install the printer or PDF converter.
I have tried 4 seperate installation but get the same problem at the end of each installation. I have removed any printer driver that may be causing a conflict but nothing appears to help.
    Any ideas

    Philip,
Check the "Abcpy.ini" file in the Acrobat 8 installer directory (you can open it with any text editor; for example, Notepad).
This file includes a field for pre-serializing the application. When the serial number is entered, the installer will use the serial number from the file.
Verify if there's a serial number copied in the file (in the field ISX_SERIALNUMBER=). If so, double-check the number to make sure it matches *exactly* your serial number.
Let me know what you find out.
